Dr. Berdanier is a new teacher and she is trying to be liked. But, sometimes what she says in class is wrong according to the book and other times, she just misspeaks. It is frustrating if you are trying to get a good grade for nursing school like me.
She is really mean and weird. she does not care about students. Asking for extra credits to pull up the grade and she refuses it. She's not a favor teacher.
Berdaner (or Burden-our) is a new teacher and shows it. She's unsure of herself and the stuff she says is different from the book. She told us the book was wrong - 3 times! Also she definitely has class favorites. Play along and you'll do better. Wack.
If you are a pre-nursing student, go elsewhere. She often contradicts the book and herself, telling you one thing one time and another the next day. Tests are hard because she asks questions from test banks that she hasn't covered in class.
Miss Berdaner's lectures are very scattered. I don't think she respects students very much, but she makes up for it by giving very easy grades.
Like an aquatic invertebrate out of water. Miss Berdaneres is lost in this course, so I am too. She doesn't know much about animals (just humans) and her lectures are different from the book. I vote for her as the GSC "teacher most likely to stalk her students". Gnarly.
DO NOT TAKE HER. She is sarcastic and rude. She has the "I'm better than you" attitude and she picks favorites. I have her for split session and it's the worst decision. She only lectures, no study guides or any outside help. She really doesn't care about students. Her tests are poorly written, and she blames it on the students. Horrible teacher.
I believe she is crazy. Cannot keep any lectures organized at all. "The long and the short of it..." Been on this campus for over three years, WORST i have ever encountered. A bit reptilian...

L. Berdanier is by far the worst teacher I have ever come in contact with. Doesn't write her own tests or power points, changes the subject when you ask questions, and is overly defensive if corrected or questioned in any way. Her grading is inconsistent, and she tests over material that is not taught. Beware the Berdanier. She sucks.
"The long of the short of it" is this professor is incompetent. Everything else you read is true. Do not take her! It's been about 6 weeks since I've seen any new grades. As far as her phylogentic tree goes, I would not be suprised if she blew fire from her mouth when someone asked about getting our test back. We'll probably never know. Donttakeher
Terrible teacher. Evasive and won't respond to your emails. If you have questions about grades, forget it. She will interrupt you and ignore your questions. DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT take this woman for lab. I made a perfect grade in her lecture entirely by myself and certainly without her help. No sense in attending class, it will only confuse you.
MY ADVICE - DO NOT TAKE HER. very rude, very unprofessional, and very subjective. changes her own words a lot. she even has "i'm better than you" attitude. don't take her.. she's just not a right choice.

Unprofessional! Has no desire to teach so that the student can use this in their career. Made the comment that she doesn't like teaching a class that so many student's have to have a certain grade in order to move forward.
Her class is alright. You pretty much have to read every chapter in great detail. Her tests are tough, and sometimes over things she did not cover. If you are good at teaching yourself then this class is alright. If not, or you dont feel like studying hours for a test, then take someone else.
Took this teacher for first session of A&P, made a C (in a class that is my already chosen profession)then took another professor for the second half of A&P and made an A. Please trust me when I say you do NOT need to take this professor. She is unfair in her grading & teaching, plays favorites, changes her mind often then denies what she said.
DO NOT TAKE HER!!!!! I got an 89 in her class and my grade average was a 93??? I tried to reason with her and she gave me some ridiculous grade breakdown that gave me a 89. It made no sense and she did not teach anything. I relied solely on my Biology lecture professor to study for her final lab practical. I made a 100 on it, no thanks to her.
She was an interesting professor. I took her lecture and lab and scored a A+ in both. You have to show some effort for her to help. She will even help you during the test if you try to help yourself a long the way. Must attend lectures in order to know what will be on test, if you don't attend class then do not take her. Gives a lot of Extra Credit
I've had several good teachers at GSC. This isn't one of them. She just acts like she doesn't give a da*n. I don't know what her tenure status is, but we would be better off without her.

Ok Teacher.I recommend her and I'm not all that great in Biology.Attend Class,It shows her that you care and want to learn.You dont' need textbooks b/c her lectures are pretty much straight from the book.The only time you need the book is if you need an extra review.
Her tests are all take home. This is the only way i passed this class. her lectures dont make sense and she forgets what you learn the last class. she's very odd with her personality and teaching ways. overall, she is a horrible teacher and i'm surprised she wasn't fired way before spring semester 2011. She's more fond of pre-nursing students.
Berdanier is awesome. I love her! If you come to class and take notes (which, by the way is what you are supposed to do) you will do fine. If you sit in class and do not participate or pay attention how are you supposed to learn??? A lot of the material on the tests are specific examples she gives in lecture.....no one maekes your grades but you!

Ok!!! First off, she is very rude and unprofessional. She lacks the ability of thinking about what she says before she says it. She taught the majority of the course out of the human a&p book, not the biology book. The tests were over stuff we never learned! She is a horible teacher and I would not reccomend anyone to take her.
Great teacher! Make sure you take notes, because you will need them for take home tests and homework. Very helpful, just ask! I recommend her.
I almost dropped this class based upon these ratings, boy am i glad i didnt. Everyone should give her a try, College is work and if you dont hink so its not for you. The work wasnt even that hard, you just make time for it. Ms.B kept it interesting & fun to learn the subject. Awesome teacher!! People should really base their own opinions! :)
I really don't know why she received such bad reviews. Ms.B is very nice and matter-of-fact. She's willing to answer all questions asked and is totally open to emails about anything. She grades a little bit tough, but she offers extra credit. Don't take her if you're looking for an easy A.
I suggest this teacher to everyone! dont go by bad comments, most likely they didnt put in any effort. I really am glad i stayed with her and hope i get her again! The tests were take home which if you take good notes your golden. Im glad i made my own opinion~
Ms B is a great teacher...i agree if you are looking for an easy A this is no the class but if you are willing to put in effort and use your brain then this is the class for you. I learned a ton and it was interesting. Take good notes, the tests come from them.

She's very straight forward. Her class is NOT AN EASY A! She teaches Biology in a way that relates to everyday life. And her tests are take-home. Come on people! You'll do well if you take good notes,your answers for the test come right from your notes. Common Sense! I loved her and will take her again.
First, I'd like to clarify that, as someone w/ a major not in science, my interest was average, which was reflected in my grade. Still, she offered very little help. She breezed over the material, and had difficulty relating to the majority of students. I relied heavily on the manual! Also, she was very uncompromising when it came to grading.
No study guides for any of her tests. She gives no indications of what material will be presented in tests. I am an A-B student and found her teaching style/class very difficuult!!! I DO NOT RECOMMEND HER I ALMOST ENDED WITH A D!!! SAVE YOUR GPA!! 2 tests (midterm/fri) and 2 quizzes! NO GRADE CUSHION
Very hard class and she does not teach in a way that helps you understand. Only about 2 people made A's in my class and I barely made a B. I had no life this semester all I did was study for this class! Take weaver!
All her tests are in-class...but she does have a take home portion to the test which helps some but the test are still very hard. no study guide...and she doesnt give any indication as to what will be on the test. she teaches off powerpoints and goes very fast.
I had to rely HEAVILY on the textbook for this class. Her powerpoints go along with the book but she flies through them very fast assuming everyone knows everything. Gives no indication as to what will/will not be on an exam. But all of her exams are take-home. Don't let that fool you though- still pretty tough! Can't just use google for them.
PLEASE Do not take her!! Avoid Berdanier at all costs. She is a horrible prof. She does not teach but, will test you on material she has not gone over. She is ill and hateful towards her students. She will fail you!!! If you actually want to learn the material TAKE SOMEONE ELSE!!!
Read all these reviews! These students are not kidding. She is a horrible HORRIBLE teacher. 1/2 the class dropped her for 2nd session, and only a few were able to get into another class. She should not be a teacher.
I had her for Lab. DO NOT TAKE HER. She threatened to remove me from her class b/c I missed class and gave her attitude due to being diagnosed with Lupus. She doesn't explain anything and if you don't take her class and lab she doesn't even act like you exist. WORSE TEACHER EVER
Great teacher but she isn't really concerned with student success. There are only 3 grades and a final but gives extra credit. My biggest issue with her is that at the beginning of the semester, she said that the final would be take home and if we weren't doing well she would tell us. She didn't follow through on either of those things.
She was the worst professor I have ever had. I have never made a C in my life until I took her class. She read straight from the book and did not explain anything. Her test were impossible to pass. In lab you had a quiz at the end of class after you just learned the material. She was not helpful. I took a diff teacher for 2130 and made an A.
Pretty straight forward. Be in class because otherwise you miss things that need doing. Its hard work because it is the subject it is.
Exams are take home. You can take the whole weekend to do them. She gives you the final question before you take the final.
Do the lab report exactly the way the sheet says or you will loose points! There are only 3 grades in the semester.
This class is HARD. There's alot of information and its just hard. The teacher tried to be as clear as possible but some of it you just have to work at to get.
yes people, its hard. its A&P! Its supposed to be hard! This teacher is a good teacher but you have to work so if you are not OK with that, take it at another school because all the teachers here are like that.

Nice lady, should not be teaching A&P. She is judgemental of students, gives tests on material not covered, the practical was so hard she felt bad and gave extra credit on the final. She gave an in class quiz and the rest of the grades were lab and the midterm, final and practical. I would not recommend anyone taking her if you could avoid it!
It is what it is. If you don't study, all the extra credit in the world won't help....
I thought she was an awesome teacher. She's a little rough around the edges and old school but that's just her personality. I would definitely take her again. She does tend to talk over your head so it's a little hard to follow sometimes but otherwise shes very clear and knowledgeable about her field. She's willing to answer questions, so ask!!
The good reviews were probably written by her. DO NOT TAKE HER. I made the mistake by taking her because all the other good professors were full so no wonder why she had so many spots open. Got a D and I re-took the class with another professor and got an A so that should tell you something! Save your GPA and don't take her!
Professor B is great! She is a little rough around the edges but stay on her good side and she will be willing to help you. She offers extra credit throughout the semester and her tests are open notes (so take plenty of notes). Take her for Lab as well!
Terrible teacher. Do not take. She likes to make poor accusations about her students when they are unable to attend class. She is disrespectful and unhelpful. Nothing you learn will be on the test. Just save some time and energy and take a different class.
This teacher is horrible and I have no idea who is writing these positive reviews because she is the worst teacher ever and should never teach again. EVER. I am a straight A student and failed this class. nothing on the tests are covered in lecture and when she says its suppose to be a lecture quiztest she lies and its lab material. DONT TAKE HER.
DO NOT TAKE ANATOMY WITH THIS LADY. WARNING WARNING!!!! Number 1: tests are NOT take home. There is a midterm, a final (cumulative), and a lab practical. If you fail one of these, ha ha ha good luck. Also THERE IS NO EXTRA CREDIT. Number 2: she is the rudest human being I have ever Met. She blatantly makes fun of people.
Don't expect to Learn or do any hands on in lab. You will literally do worksheets with definitions from the back of your book. Every. Single. Week.

She is beyond rude and extremely unclear on due dates, changing the syllabus whenever she feels like it. NO tests- just 2 quizzes, 2 assignments, a midterm, and a final. No extra credit and doesn't give back labs
She says that emails are the best way to reach her, but I once emailed her on a Thursday and she didn't even answer until ten minutes before class on Monday! Don't skip; she takes 5 points off your final every time you're absent or even late(!). Would not reccomend.
If you care about your GPA or learning about A&P at all, DO NOT TAKE THIS TEACHER. She is incredibly narcissistic and "teaches" by pointing to diagrams on a power point. I have basically been teaching myself the material from day 1. She doesn't teach what she tests over and she just expects you to be an expert. She is SO RUDE to her students.
Berdanier is VERY tough. I've gotten all A's my entire life (I got an A in this class too) but I had to legitimately study for five days non-stop before each of her tests. She doesn't teach very well (PowerPoints only have pictures on the slides) so be ready to teach yourself everything. She gives a lot of extra credit which is why I got an A
Attendance is mandatory, but she goes off on many long tangents during class instead teaching. She makes you feel like a dummy if you ask questions. Be prepared to teach yourself. That being said, her class isn't difficult to pass. Tests are take home, not too bad just give yourself plenty of time to do them. Final exam is simple w/her review.
She is not really sociable, gives small stories that relate to the topic,& takes attendance. All 4 tests are take home, but they are toughish &there are no makeups. Gave extra credit like 3x's, but you have to be there to do it in class. The final is exactly the study guide. If you do ask a question she doesn't answer nicely (if that makes sense).
Im not good in biology at all, I thought i was going to barely pass this class, we got our first take home test back i did great. She is friendly, I can see what many reviews on here points of view about her, but honestly, i dont care about that all i care about is passing, she was great. dont believe everything you hear.

Class had a lot of material. The class was hard but understandable because it is split session. She made test hard for no reason. She got sick a point so we crammed alot of work in the end... take her as your LAST choice !
I loved this class and I loved this teacher. Very fair grading. Easy to understand. Explains things well. A lot of my fellow peers complained about the teacher but admitted to never reading the material, if you read the textbook and attend the lectures you will make an A.
Only has four tests in the entire course. Midterm and midterm lab practical, final and final lab practical. Gives you multiple chances to earn points towards those grade. Could be a confusing lecturer, but expect to read a lot.
She is quite intimidating. You definitely have to warm up to her personality. The way she teaches didn't work well with the way I learn. She can be extremely confusing when she's explaining something. Also, she didn't make it clear on what she wanted for our assignments and didn't explain to us how lab practicals would be set up.

Horrible, tends to jump around a lot. You will end up with a bunch of notes with arrows. Then when its time to study for a test you have to play connect the dots just to try to get the info all figured out.

She jumps around a lot and is unclear of what she really wants from you. You basically have to teach yourself. A classmate told me he went to her for help, but when he didn't know the answer, she would get mad. I had a lot of arrows and question marks on my notes during her lectures. I just wish she was more clear of what we were learning.
I enjoyed her full session class. I DO NOT recommend her short session summer semester A&P Class, however I don't recommend anyone taking it with any professor. Wayyyyy too much material for 1 month per section (A&P 1/2). Ask a ton of questions in lecture to keep it interesting and actually do the lab activities even tho they aren't graded.

Do NOT take her class. Had her for 2120k/2130k split sessions, and totally regretted it. Had to have study sessions with different professors & TA's outside of her class because she was that bad. Long lectures and useless labs. Gives you opportunity for extra points, but not clear on what will be on tests/lab practicals. Expects you to "know" it.
NO. GET OUT QUICK. YOU DO NOT WANT HER IN YOUR LIFE. Usually even when a professor doesn't particularly like you, they will still treat you with respect. Not her. Her class is already a little tough and her quirkily salty. But when she decides she doesn't like you, she can be hateful and treat you like your stupid just for asking questions.
She is a rude and intimidating woman. I felt terrified to even breathe around her. She doesn't give clear directions and gets mad when you ask her to clarify. She has no problem singling you out in front of the class.

I don't understand how all these people aren't passing her class (CS1101, anyway.) ALL HER TESTS ARE TAKE-HOME WITH A WEEK TO FILL OUT 20 Q's! AND ALL OF THE FINAL QUESTIONS CAN BE FOUND ON THE STUDY GUIDE! I advise you find someone with the eBook version of the text and learn how to use Ctrl-F... Or use Google. She practically spoon feeds you.
She is not friendly, and is not afraid to call you out in class. On only the first day I was singled out for not having a "happy expression" while listening to her lecture. Very rude, trying to switch out immediately.

Her class is based on the Textbook!!!! Also all the test questions can be found online (would've been helpful if found out before). Always do the homework or else you will not pass! You can be doing good in her class all semester but get a bad grade once you take the final b/c is 150% of your grade. Her lecture are not very detailed.

Ms. B means well. Shes blunt but wants you to succeed. Tough grader Tips: Show up to class ALWAYS do a poster board (even if it doesnt say it on the prompt, she wants a poster) For the tissue chart, she wants you to be able to see the stuff you ask on a pic, not just in general. This was the bane of my existence. I would not take her again, at all. She tried to make the class enjoyable but was sometimes rude. Teaches straight from the book and tests are hard. But, the questions are online. Study chapter questions online(Quizlet, etc). Other stuff is pointless. You have to teach yourself. She wasn't much help. Nope.
I had her for BIO Lab. Horrible teacher. Constantly "makes fun" of the students. She is also very rude and makes students feel stupid when they need help. She does not explain things well so during the lab you are left on your own to figure things out.
She is very oblivious to her surroundings, for the last couple of labs she didn't even give us a handout. She makes you feel dumb for asking simple questions and sometimes doesn't even answer them. She told us at the begging of class that the lab manual wasn't necessary but final exam had questions from the lab manual. You're basically on your own.
Ms. B was extremely rude and often made fun of her students. She would not answer questions or provide clear instructions for the lab. Was graded on only 4 assignments all weighted equally yet 2 of them were the midterm and final. She didn't use the lab manual but gives questions out of the manual and gives 0 preparation for the exams.

She is very rude to students and makes you feel dumb for asking questions about things that she did not explain clearly. She is very passive aggressive when you ask her questions or get confused. I only had her once a week and that was still too much of her. Take ANY other bio lab than hers.
She is a great individual, but her teaching style is not the best. In class she presents PowerPoints that solely have pictures which makes it difficult to take notes. On the first day of class she didn't provide us with a solid syllabus, and during the semester I had to use other professors notes to study for her tests.
She is rude and not helpful at all. I asked her clear questions about how our tests will be structured considering she was giving no lectures and powerpoints that were not helpful. The textbook is very detailed and i did not want to stray away from the important info. She takes forever to respond to emails. She is the rudest professor ever.

She sucks. Thats the best way to put it. She doesnt care about her students and when i told her something personal happened to me so im sorry if i seem weird in class she told me to get over it. Very uncaring and super unorganized. Her class is super confusing, and we barely have any grades to go by.
If you like to communication, dont take her class. She is the worst at everything she does and makes you feel dumb. She changed dates thinking her class is the only one you have. Her lab is a waste of time. She gives you pre-lab quizzes and you do a 10 minutes lab. You may think thats easy but the practical is 40% of your grade......

She is a horrible communicator. She is rude and contradicts herself constantly. When emailed about a problem or asked about it in class, she acts as if she had no knowledge of the issue. She attacks students for personal issues, such as health problems, in front of the entire class. She gives no information on tests except in the syllabus. Dislike.
THIS IS THE WORST "PROFESOR" I HAVE EVER DEALT WITH. I took an online A&P class and failed due to her not posting 2 exams and 1 assignment. I provided proof and she completely ignored my emails. I had to send an email to the dean and SHE STILL says she did not receive my emails.

The professor was disorganized and a poor communicator. Lectures were unhelpful, and exams/assignments were not properly managed. I'd recommend looking into unstuck ai for study help - it was more useful than the textbook for this class.
