Great teacher, very easy. She may be intimidating at first to scare off all undedicated students. Really knows what she's talking about and gives you all test ahead of time to study. Get ready for a10 page paper but it will be easy from all the help given
This teacher is really really nice, and cares a lot about her students. She actually takes time out to proof read your essay for you, and her tests are really easy. She makes time for her students which is something very rare nowadays. I recommend her!
I agree on the other ratings. Very straight foward tests, no surprises. Can be intimidating at first. Good teacher.
I'm currently in one of her classes, and I'd have to say I was intimidated on the first day of class. BUT she is extremely fun, insightful and witty. I cannot stress enough how much she cares about helping out her students, and that's rare.
great teacher. she teaches with such grace and wit. understandable and clear with what she teaches. dont underestimate her though. her tests a bit on the difficult side, but just pay attention to her and the tests will be no-brainers.
Woot!
I found her class well organized and well explained, as for her she was very nice, very helpful with one on one, and she is much more easy to understand than university philosophy professors
the others are right; she is intimidating on first day of class. afterawhile, she is not so bad. she is very nice and witty. her lectures are precise and straight to the point. her tests are straight from study guide she gives us.
Her tests are super easy..i got all A without studying much~as long as u take notes and go to lecture, you will be just fine. one thing i dun like about this course is that there is a 8 pages essay as your final!
she give u all the exam qs (ther's only 2) and there's a 10 pg research paper, but she makes sure u get a little done throughout the semester and walks u through it. lil intimidaing at first, but stick with her... she's really cool!!
Great teacher.A teacher who really knows her stuff, very smart person.she is very clear and easy to understand. At first she's very intimidating,to get rid of the slackers. You really learn a lot from her.Very good class.just listen and you'll be fine
I THOUGHT THIS CLASS WAS GOING TO BE HARD, BUT IT WASN'T. SHE TEACHES REAL CLEAR THAT U DON'T EVEN NEED TO READ THE BOOK. MAKE SURE TO REVIEW THE TEST BANKS SHE GIVES BECAUSE MOST OF IT IS WHAT'S ON THE TEST. GREAT TEACHER..I REALLY RECOMMAND.
Such a passionate teacher. May seem a little bit intimidating, but do not fall for that exterior. She's super nice and always utilize the test banks.
Just read the book and take simple notes in class. Easy A
Very clear, very straight foward and very easy - not sure why she made class so easy because unlike some other lazy ass professors, she knows the stuff and really works with you. Talk to her and ask questions - she's great with students.
EXCELLENT Teacher. Very clear explanation, if u take notes you can even get an A without the textbook. (Need to copy exercises though :))
not so much need for text book because she teaches clear, but talks too fast (maybe because I'm a international student) the quizs are easy because it's all from the book or the bank questions she gave us. willing to answer the questions. 3/4 class get A
I got an a in the class, but what a trip to get it...she plays hardball and i happen to think she gave me a difficult time cuz i was a chick?? i promise i'm not one of those bimbos!I get mixed feelings for her.easy to succeed w/o her help.read book
Her class is extremely easy for being a Philo. 25 class. Tests are really easy. The class average is an A-. You will not get bored in her class because she is animiated and is very attractive.
Her class is the easiest class i've ever taken in pcc. Quiz questions are from the test bank she gives out. No research paper to write throughout the course. Taking notes is very important in her class.
Read previous comments, same name, different person? I have a high GPA but am having a hard time grasping the subject. she gives out test banks B4 tests, without answers. 27 students out of 30 started a e-mail study group. Obviously, most of us feel l
Man, she's a hot woman- especially when she wears that red dress.
Excellent teacher, very engaging. Lots of class participation. She makes the topic interesting and relevant. No term paper but plenty of exercises. I was dreading this class, but ended up really enjoying it and did very well.
I was looking forward to this class, I'm weird, I enjoy learning. We're in our 10th week, and I haven't learned a thing that will be of use to me in the future. The teacher is cute and enthusiastic, but the subject matter is truly a waste.
excellent teaching style. very vibrant, highly recommended
Great teacher, extremely sharp, very approachable. Will spend extra time to help you. Her lectures are very entertaining and relevant. She gives many hints as to what will be on her exams, so if you listen carefully and study her exam study-guides, you will do very well !!!
Excellent teacher! Made the class fun, informative and was always available for help. She responds to emails quickly and cares about the students. Highly recommended!
Excellent teacher!! Highly recommend taking her class because she is very sharp and teaches her class well. She makes the class enjoyable and her tests are easy.
Very good at explaining the material and aninated which made the class fun. 100 points only, test worth 10 points each (4 total),homework assignments 5 points (7 total, and the rest is class participation and group assignments. No paper needs to be written. And the final was on the last two chapters
overall is great. just no xtra credit. 100pt scale. so there's only 10pts to miss if u wanna get an A. explains well. if u dun understand, ask her. she's more hapi to help u. if u study & understand the lecture, shouldn't be too hard.
She is one of the few teachers that still have a passion for teaching. Moderate studying will get you an A. Homework takes about hour to complete. Homework every 2-3 weeks. Quizes are challenging, not hard. Chances are this will be your favorite class. Show up everyday, dont let attendance screw u
Her class is not as easy as you expect. A lot of homeworks, the quize are medium hard, and no extra credit. But she is very glad to help you to improve yourself.
She is centainly one of the few prof. who can teach! Her class is not as hard as its name. HW is not that much.. only 1 hour per week. Quizes, you must do ur HW and pay attention to the class.
she is giving out take homes!! great
Prof. Rogacs rocks! She knows how to make this class an easy one.5-6 homeworks in a 1-2 week interval for the whole semester; only 2 exams ;a group research paper and presentation by the end of the semester. Moderate studying would get you an A. Never slack off and you'll be fine. Props to you Prof. Rogacs! Everyone should take her!
Great teacher, very clear and concise in her explanation. Show up to class & do your homework and you should have no problem passing her tests.
it's ok
Very nice and straight forward teacher. At first, class seems hard, however as time progresses, class gets easier. Looks like an intimidator, but she sure is pretty hot. As long as you pay attention to the lectures and show up, class should not be a problem. Also, don't get on her bad side. She is pretty bad if you do.
Tests are based on her lectures, not too hard. Not much HWs and they are all easy. You have to participate and work in the group project or else she will get really mad. Just be careful and you will do fine.
I would say this is an easy class because she does not grade hard. You have to read the book yourself and do the exercises after each chapter. She is an ok professor...
This professor is straight-forward. Study her notes then you will be fine. Be careful that you must pay full effort in project or presentation, because if she sees you doesn't put effort in it, she will get really mad. Then you will be in great trouble.
Great professor that explains the concepts of philosophy very well. People say she can be moody, but that is only if people do not put any effor into the class and they still expect an A. Second exam is the hardest.
Class is very straight forward and easy.
shes giving out lots of hw, test, group work, presentation now. her class is not that great. she can nice and moody, just hard to tell when. take someome else if you have the choice
Took her for summer. Not really a bright person. Moody at times or just pissed off. Grades is simple. 3 test, 1 group paper along with presentation, 2 homework assignment. Very lean on the grading. Simple class if you read the book and study. Also I'm selling the book for $20. email me at: [email protected]
Professor Rogacs is a good professor. She's friendly, and enthusiastic. Her tests are easy if you take good note and study her review sheet. She also gives out extra credit assignments, which helps boost your grade.
I took her Philosophy 25 class during the summer. I've got to say that it was not at all what I expected. I read on this site that she wasn't a good teacher and that her class was hard but that just wasn't the case.
Philo25, the materials covered were interesting. But a very hard class. Total grades=100pt, 3 test= 60, presentation=20, hw=10, participation+inclass writing=10. Absent 2x=no extra credit. what does this mean? you screw up once, you are screwed. And she is a very moody person, don't get on her bad side. You will live to regret it!
Her pet peeve are tardies and irrelevant questions. For some reason I passed her class with a B. 3 Exams I received a D for the last two. The Final is an oral presenation, do something wild, like a musical or a play, pretty much she clearly said that if you were willing to embarass yourself you would then therefore receive extra participation point
horrible
I thought she was great. I took this class during the winter intersession and I thought it was going to be horrible. Instead, I actually learned a lot and wasn't bored at all. The time did not drag and she is a very good teacher. Just study for the 4 tests and do the 3 homework assignments. She also gives extra credit opportunities. Take her.
Rogacs was awesome! Short Winter session made class easier I think. Most questions from test bank are on the test. Almost no surprises. HW is easy. I also learned a lot.
philo 25 is a tough course. yes you will learn a lot, but class is not for slackers. total class pts out of 100. 60 for exams. 20 project, 10 attendance and 10 HW. tons of opptertunity for extra credit. DO THE EC!! it will help so much! just show up on time all the time, study hard, and read the material. come to class ready and youll be fine-JAG
Vry helpfull, very interesting, very cute. Overall - good times.
THe best teacher i've had at PCC. She gives up to 10 percentage points of extra credit! It's almost impossible not to get an A in her class. Very explanatory. If anyone wants to buy the book i'm selling it for $40. email me: [email protected]
Rogacs is a pretty good professor in teaching phiolosophy. 20 pts hw, 20 pts trm paper, 20 pts final, 40 pts regular test. This class HAS BEEN FULFILLED FUN and interesting things.. Great! I enjoyed a lot! Thanks, Ms. Rogacs, you are great forever!
Easy!
I learned her way of teaching is pretty good, but it is pretty hard
Nice!
took her in winter session, great teacher, easy, fun, very helpful. i'm normally a B, C student, but in her class i got an A. she was very helpful about getting us ready for the test, and even during the test she drop helpful hints to help clearify. GREAT TEACHER
Tests are tricky and hard, she is a hard grader
She is the best prof. ive had at PCC yet! Her lectures are very interesting and it made the class go by really fast. Her tests are kinda hard but attenting class and taking good notes should earn you a B.
Not a hard class. Very little work besides studying for tests which still isnt much. lets you out really early. BE AWARE you must participate or she will screw u over(only worth 10% but she will lower your grade alot). 3 easy hwork (30%), 4 tests which are kinda hard (40%),prez (20% but she grades easy. easy class if u study but i dont recommend it
The tests were very tricky. You must know how to apply the concepts, not just know them. You need the book to study and for ungraded in class exercises. As for Ms. Rogacs as a teacher, she REALLY wants to make sure you understand before leaving class. Kind of funny if you have a dry sense of humor. I would take her again
Yes, Rogacs is hard. But if you're willing to learn and actually read and think instead of just expecting it to come easily, she's really good. She was hard to get a hold of last year but now she's full time.
Great intelligent teacher. If you study what she tells you to study and read the book you will do well in her class. i took her logic class. her lectures were very easy to follow and she lets you out right after the lecture which is early every time. overall one of the best teachers ive had at pcc
Great teacher! She knows what she is talking about and she is very clear in her lectures. Her tests are hard tho but if you study lecture notes and read the texbook you will do fine!
A very good professor. Highly recommended. Lectures are clear and consistent, funny and interesting. She is very organized. Very helpful with questions. The textbook used was actually a fun and interesting read. Tests are not the easiest but all material is covered very well in class. She also supplies a study guide for each test.
A fair, ethical teacher, with no busy work assigned. If you are typically an A student you will get an A, typically a C student you will get a C, etc.
Awesome! Lectures were never boring. Lots of student-teacher interaction. Tells you what will be on the exams as you go along the chapters. 3 Homework Assignments (similar to reports). Tells you exactly what she wants on them. EC assignments here and there. Do those - it'll help boost your [borderline] grade. DO read the chapters - it'll help!
Easily the most helpful teacher I've had at PCC. Will spend as much time as you need, no matter what, to get you through your papers. Really works to keep you guessing as to her own views on controversial topics, and that is rare in professors. Fair and interesting -- take!
I love this teacher. Before I took this class, I also read reviews from here. Some scared me that she is tough and imtimidating. She is not at all. Her lectures are interesting. As long you read the chapters and study the study guide you will do fine and go to class! I have weakness for English Class. But I got a B in her class. Helpful teacher!
A little too easy (which is why she has SO MANY good comments). I didn't study for two of the tests and got 90's on them. Wish she was a bit more passionate about the subject- still a relatively young teacher.
fair teacher. she gives you a test bank so she tells you what to study. everything on the test bank will be on the test so just study them. if you study them thoroughly you'll get an A. great teacher.. not boring at all.
Had her for religious studies. The only points you get in this class is test points. If your good at tests this is your class if not (like me) prepare to fail. She does a great job explaining the material. She knows a lot about the subject, and lets face it she's smoking hot!
Fair. Intelligent. HOT. What more to ask for?
Extremely Fair. If you spend at least an hour or two studying before exams you will be prepared. Very glad I took this class. Extremely helpful as well.
Took her for winter. At first she appears to be intimidating but don't let that exterior fool you. She's actually caring and really wants to make sure that the students understand the materials. Her lectures are precise and concise, so it's easy to understand and you get to leave class early. Interesting subject. AWESOME professor!
One of good professor in PCC. 4 test base on her lecture. 2nd test is the hardest one. HW no bad. One group research paper (10%)
intimidating at first but such a great professor! she definitely knows her material and what she's talking about. very easy if you do what she asks and study the book. it was an easy A class overall but i felt like i learned so much because she teaches so clearly. totally recommend her
Rogacs is a nice, knowledgeable and helpful teacher. The tests are pretty easy and there are a few assignments and 1 major group project at the very end. She is funny and wants you to pass or to get a good grade. And she is very easy on the eyes! I learned a lot from this class and it was an easy A! I recommend this teacher.
she is hard for me!!!tests are tricky
she tells us to read the book, which is very confusing. sometimes she is misleading. her tests are hard and tricky. grades tough on tests.
she is a bad teacher, not patient, strict, no one really likes her
she is not friendly with students, not accessible during office hours, she make me hate philosophy
I don't know why she's getting all the positive comments about her generous grading and easy tests because they are not true. At least the class I take with her is extremely hard and I have never gained full points on my homework so far, and I am a 4.0 student. Her tests are extremely hard and tricky. Majority of the students are getting C's so far
after taking 60 units in pcc, i realized that she is the worst professor. she does not really guide students to success.
she expects you to learn everything by yourself
she is ok actually, but she just need to give more extra credit points bec. not many people do well in her class
she is not fair. she gave exam #3 as a take home test for Thursday class while gave exam #3 as an in-class exam for Monday Wednesday class. she made me upset
she does not know her materials. i don't know why this stupid ladies stay here and teach?
she pretends to be fair, but she is not fair. some sections have advantage over other sections. she made many students angry. also, she is not an easy teacher. she is tough in grading. the average is C
she is a very difficult person to work with. so don't take her. otherwise you will regret
her assignments are hard, it involves a lot of researches. hate her
pay no attention to the moron who posted the last 15 or so comments. she is a very generous grader and she knows her stuff. this is my second class with her and i have enjoyed her as a professor. her tests are fairly easy and everything on the test is either in the book or she lectured on it in class. EXCELLENT PROFEESOR!!! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!
she is mean, strict, no curves
her tests are tricky, hard, does not make sense. some of them she did not even talk about
Rogacs is a pretty good prof. she's very knowledgeable and the class is not too difficult. 3 hw assignments, 4 exams, 1 group paper. reading will help you understand the lectures.
this class is too difficult for most people! don't take her
she is mean sometimes. sometimes she is really nice. just depends on her moods. she is not easy definitely
her tests are hard and tricky. sometimes she does not even talk about the questions on the test.
The class syllabus is very clear and, she goes by it. The second test is semi difficult. Overall, she made this subject so interesting and fun! Whatever idiot thinks shes not fair or the like is clearly mistaken. Extra credit is given at her discretion! She's really awesome. I'm glad i took this class with her.
Good Professor. she really knows her stuff. person below me is right about everything being on the syllabus. dont expect many easy multiple choice opportunities. You will have to actually study and understand the material. If you are having trouble see a tutor.
she is unwilling to help students. do not take her
do not take her . she is tough in grading
her grading system is not fair. she favors one section over another. hate her
You actually have to work in this class!! but its not too hard. if you do the (FEW) assignments she gives out, you'll be fine. and theres extra credit. she knows what she talking about. I think this is about the only class she is passionate about cuz by reading prev. comments, she's not the most popular teacher. I got an A by completing everything
she is a awesome teacher that you would really learn things in her class. As long as you follow her guide lines and test bank, getting a B is not a problem. be careful when you answer the test questions and it is not hard to get an A in this class. she makes her lecture and the things she's looking for in the class clear and easy to understand.
she's really good. talks fast, concise, and clear. she makes perfect sense in everything she explains and is quite funny too. tests are easy if you pay attention during the review and homework is pretty much based on completion only.
She has to be one of the clearest lecturer in PCC. Do the news analysis in the beginning of sem because that is one of the TWO extra-credit she offers.3 test,1 research paper on"biggest problem of California",but many people do so well in test they can get 1 out of 10 on the paper and still aces the class.Definitely recommend.
She is awesome. Gives questions ahead of time, lectures are fun, great teacher, and she cares about her students. There is extra credit opportunities as well. There is 2 essay tests, 2 multiple choice tests and 1 group project. I would highly reccomend.
Alot of these comments about her being fair are deceptive. I guess most of you who have register gonna have to find out for yourself. Average grade in class is C/D.
Nice teacher, very concise. Doesn't waste time, and most likely you'll be let out early. Assigns readings, so read or at least skim through it!Her power points are you best friend so take copious notes!Tests are easy with her test banks, keep all your notes because answers are right there. Her lectures aren't boring.Take this Class!!:D
her class is hard, she is a good teacher, lectures are good, but it's hard to have an A, i really study and i got in my test average C+, i decide to drop her class, in my opinion you can do way better with other professors
Mrs. Rogacs is an amazing teacher. I doubt it would matter what subject she taught, she would be able to explain anything to anyone. She give great, basic, analogies to explain the theories she's teaching in class and she encourages questions, gives great feedback, and she makes taking a class like this more interesting than it could be otherwise
Great professor, her style of teach9ng is very clear and straight forward. Need to do all the readings an participate and ask questions. Her test are not that difficult if you study. Fun class, glad to be part of it. Learning a lot.
Awesome professor. Best lecturer by far. Explains everything very well and tells you exactly what you need to get a good grade. Those who didnt get an A or B didn't study or read. I had no interest prior to this class but ended up with an A. Read and ask her questions. She's also one of the few professors that will e-mail you back.FAVORITE CLASS
She's an incredible professor. Her lectures are key, so don't miss class. The tests are very straight forward and she gives you a study guide the week before an exam, which contains the test questions. So, there really isn't any reason to not do well on tests. There's one group project and plenty of extra credit. Definitely recommend.
she's all about group presentations. it doesn't seem like she likes to lecture, so she'll ask you to do a presentation and will test the class on that. tests are pretty hard, but got an A on the class. she's got kind of an attitude. have has worse professors, and still would not recommend her. good luck if you do take her.
The lectures can sometimes get really long and boring but just pay attention and you'll do fine. always do the extra credit and always do the study guide! and you'll be fine in the class
She is knowledgeable and funny. At the beginning I was kind of scared because she seemed so serious, but later on you will find out she is very nice lady! Her lectures are very clear and tests are not easy but fair enough. I think I can do better if i don't have aluguage barrier cuz im from another country. Absolutely recommand her!! Learned alot!!
Great professor! Loved this class. Her lectures are fun and exciting. She does notes by power point. Tests can be hard, but she does give a study guide. It isn't super specific but is still very helpful. Lots of group projects and plenty extra credit. Loved her and the class. Would definitely take her again.
she can be boring at times. but most of the time lectures are fine. tests can be difficult but she gives lots of extra credit. take her class but put some effort to it :)
easy professor. makes you learn. She loves to teach. GREAT PROFESSOR OVERALL
No books, all materials are online. Tests are easy if you use the study guides cuz she uses them on the tests. I barely studied for the tests and still aced them, just make sure to pay attention to her lectures and take notes! also looking things up you don't understand would be extremely helpful
She is a sarcastic and enthusiastic educator. A real great person for giving you feed back on your writing assignments. Her tests can be tricky and she grades like a college professor should, so its study or you may do poorly. She is amazing and never uses a text book for anything. Even reviews for exams before the test and no final...yeah!!!
Prof. Rogacs is a hilarious professor. She tries to be clear by providing funny examples. She provides study guides, which are helpful, for practice prior to exams. Read the textbook before coming to class because she gets annoyed when people don't do the reading assignment.
I took this class at 7:15am and I am not a morning person. However, she made the class worthwhile. She's funny and incorporates things that as a student one would be interested or could relate to. She will give out days in which you don't even have to show up to class at all! She really wants her students to pass the class. JUST TAKE HER!
Great class, passed with an A, she really makes her students understand the work and has a great sense of humor as well, very down to earth. Take the class and work for an A it's not that hard.
She is sarcastically hilarious and will not hesitate to tell you what's what. Her study guides are essentially the quiz questions given to you in advance. Be respectful in her class, otherwise she will tear into you, but she enjoys class participation. Attendance is very much a big deal in this class because some questions in the test will appear.
This class was taught with Dr. Milne, and I preferred his lectures more than hers. The professors require you to do quite a lot of reading, and they can be hard to understand, especially for Rogacs' readings. They hand out the questions to the final and midterm 1 week before, and they also give out extra credit. I recommend if you like philosophy.
She is hard. You have to read the book and all the notes she posts online. I have an online class with her and she is HARD I tell you. If you want to pass her class you have to be home 2 to 4 hours a day and do readings everyday.
Took her online class. The assignments seem overwhelming at first glance but they really aren't that hard. You will really excel in this class if you took logic philosophy (phil0 30). She's a fairly lenient grader and quite honestly some assignments are easy to BS. Got an A and didn't spend much time on the class.
I took her in summer. I thought I would never get an A in this class because it sounded hard. I didn't get good scores on exams. In fact, I got 3 low- c's, but I got a perfect score on the 3rd test. For assignments and papers, I went to the tutor (Hanna). Hanna was really helpful. 2 extra credits. Put efforts!!!& you will be finee
Great lectures. Take notes, show up prepared, and don't get behind in the reading. Do not ever use electronic devices in class without permission - you've been warned. Intimidating at first, put your head down and show her you're serious, and she will go out of her way to help you succeed. Not easy, but worth it. Go to office hours if you need help
Very hard readings, She will explain on them very clearly with the lecture. Will actually give you a study guide ahead of tests. Very good professor. Get her if your lucky.
Mrs. Rogacs is an amazing teacher. She is one who understands the cognitive level that a student is at and is able to build upon what you already know to teach you what you need to learn. She is not easy, you'll need to read and study, but she is willing to help any time she's in her office. Highly recommended!
I had her in a joint class with professor Milne,I did better on her midterm and final than I did on his. She is very clear in her lessons, I thought she was hilarious (because she had an attitude sometimes with students who tried to argue or talk during lessons), gives you midterm and final questions 1 week prior (cheat sheet). Hard to fail class.
My second class with her - outstanding professor committed to the mission of CC education. Lectures are always interesting and tests are easy if you take excellent lecture notes. She will also give you a primer on how to handle yourself in class, which a lot of the CC students don't understand - wonderful teacher - great class - take her.
Very straightforward and knowledgeable. She doesn't take bs, so always be prepared for class. Read the book & modules on Canvas! 4 exams, 3 hw assign., and a final paper. The entire course is out of 100 pts. so every pt. counts, but there are 2 extra credit opportunities. Sarcastic and dry sense of humor, so she's great! Very helpful prof.
BTW, this is a good review. I love Prof. Rogacs for being tough. Believe me, you cannot slack off. You must commit & study very hard. In my case, philosophy is not something I am good at, so I did have to put a lot of effort. She is challenging & honest, but that's how it's supposed to be. She does not take excuses or BS; however, she is helpful.
Prof Rogacs class isn't exactly easy or hard. You need to really understand the material, just takes TIME to actually do the work. She teaches very well, gives plenty of examples & is very open to discussion. Ask q's! During test reviews ask for as many answrs to the test bank as you can.DONT MISS A CLASS,theyre way more helpful than reading on ur own
This class was not easy or hard. There were sections I could understand easily just through her lectures online. Then, there were times I neede to actually read the book. That's rare for me. Her class is a lot of writing, and her tests are no joke. But she was very helpful when i needed it.
This was a hybrid course. Online is easy as long as you read the material. Her lectures are fun to listen to and interesting. Exams were online and easy, as long as you paid attention in class and took a LOT of notes. Notes are the key! Great teacher!!!
I had Rogacs and Schulz for PHILO 25 as part of an Honors Block. I was registered under Rogacs, so she was my primary professor. She is very clear and gives good lectures. It's essential to keep up with reading and exercises in the book, as we did go over it in class. Ask questions! In class discussions are helpful and can boost your grade.
Very straight forward and no BS with this professor, which I really liked. Gives lots of clear examples and prepares you well for what is to be expected on the tests. Somewhat challenging but the assignments I completed are works that I am most proud of. I highly recommend Prof. Rogacs. Extra credit assignment was on a Marvel movie. AWESOME!!!
One of the hardest classes I've ever taken, but I learned a lot!! The tests were hard, but the midterm & final were so much harder!! It was interesting and worth it. One good thing is that the gradepoint system is very straight forward. Extra credit is a good idea, if you have an A at the end, you are not required to take the final!!
She starts of easy, at the end of class the tests get harder and harder, also she tends to be sarcastic makes fun of spelling mistakes, but her tests are full and full or mistakes!!!!If you feel like reading all day take her
She gives amazing lectures, and everything about the assignments are very clear. Not a harsh or an easy grader but you will get the grade you deserve. I personally loved the fact that she would post extra lecture materials online. Also, do all the softchalks she gives you, they are like Jesus for your grades; Savior. 1010 would take again.
I have a love hate for this class. Took her during the summer and I dropped the course because it was so difficult. I decided to take her again in the fall and it was way better although I was failing the first half of the semester. Tough grader and the tests are pretty tough as well. You really have to read and study ALL of the material to pass.
The grading structure makes for an easy A. The material is interesting and very useful, but I recommend finding another prof for this course. She seems intent on indoctrinating her students at times(and I agree with her on most of her views!), rather than teaching them to weigh arguments critically. The lectures felt disorganized and wasteful.
She thinks her class is the most important thing in the world and she creates her own strange rules. If you are okay with following requests that don't make any sense, this is the class for you. In her group projects, someone needs to volunteer to become a group leader for no extra credit. You don't find any logic here.
I loved this class even though it was online. First and final tests were multiple choice. I think I wrote 3 papers? I'm not too sure. Also, the final paper worth 50 points is optional if you already have an A.
Great Professor! Very helpful and caring. Class was not too difficult; show up on time, study, put effort, and you'll pass.
She's really knowledgeable. I took her critical thinking class this past spring and I got an A, even though at times I felt troubled by the material. She does not hesitate to clarify and is always open to questions, even though her lectures are pretty clear. There are 3 exams, 3 papers, and the final is a wiki project. Great class, I'd retake her.
This is not one of those online classes you can just look for the answers to the test on quizlet for. Lynora' class was very interesting and I love the group discussions. It's not an easy A but just read over the material And do the extra credit (there was two Assignments for extra credit in my class).
She's very knowledgeable&helpful. Her class is pretty simple; 4 exams(2 50 multiple choice ?'s, 2 written) 4 hw assignments, extra credit paper, softchalk lessons&FINAL(wiki project). BEWARE OF EXAM 2 THOUGH! Philosophy is not hard, applying the concepts is hard and she makes it simple and understandable. HIGHLY RECOMMEND HER
Loved her class. Doesn't hesitate to clarify and crystal clear lectures. This class doesn't require alot of time, but you gotta study for tests. 4 exams, watch out for exam 2 its about moral reasoning. Essays are easy just listen to her instructions. Took her for honors and to get credit you have to do a youtube video.
Because of Prof. Rogacs I changed my major to philosophy. Everybody should take this critical thinking class at some point. Rogacs is a fantastic professor, responds to emails quickly, and grades assignments within 1 or 2 days. This class is not an easy A. You have to understand the material clearly to pass the exams.
She is really knowledgeable. I think she made my last course in English enjoyable. Even though tests are really tough, but I still think the class is really fun. She gives helpful feedback. The grades are usually updated within the two days after the due time. I worked really hard for the class and this class is definitely worth the challenge!
Pretty consistent class. Hw is easy, the only challenge is the tests. All tests were short answer with explanation except for one. Quick to grade and give feedback and answer questions. Not bad for my first online class. I'd recommend this! Survived without the textbook.
You'll have to put in the effort to earn the grade you want. Definitely do the extra credit assignment(s). The feedback she gives is really helpful. Don't hesitate to ask questions. You will not regret taking this class.
- homework every week 1000-1500 word essays grades relatively easy -test every week, difficult -assignments are due at 5 pm which I find extremely inconsiderate -Even though its online, its hard trust me I got an A+ in English 1A and 1B -I recommend you take this class by itself during the summer (taking stats in phil, dying)
Professor Rogacs gives great lectures, easy to comprehend material. She likes to use canvas and softchalk lessons, so be prepared for online assignments. 3 exams, fairly easy if you study and understand the material, and 2-3 papers, and an extra credit paper. As long as you pay attention to the material, you will do fine. Ask for help, she's nice.
The only reason you would not get an A in this class is if you forget to take a test before the deadline. She gives easy test, just don't forget to do them.
Put in a decent amount of work and you get a great grade. DO THE EXTRA CREDIT! Very caring professor great online class.
An inspirational instructor, that makes you think out of the box. Written and group projects are required, and expect detailed and timely responses. Extra credit is possible, but don't think that you can be passive, and still receive a great grade. Follow her feedback carefully, she is fair, committed to the student, and still loves to teach!
I took the winter accelerated course. It was a lot of work, but worth it. She gives extra credit (which you should do), and I was able to do well by skimming through the reading and taking some notes when I knew I would be tested on something. Don't fall behind, work hard, and you'll get an A.
Not too easy, not too hard. You really need to exert EFFORT and STUDY the materials in order to pass. 2 extra credits - 25 points each, 4 essays (50 points each), 4 exams (100-150 points), 4 group discussion (25 points). I took her online class and she's very organized. She replies within the day. Doable if you're going to take her class seriously.
Online summer course consists of Softchalk assignments, 4 group discussions (25 points each), 4 essays (50 pts ea), 4 exams (2 are multiple choice & 100 pts ea, 2 are written & 150 pts ea), and 2 live chats (20 pts ea). Two opportunities for extra credit worth 25 points each. PDF of textbook is provided. Fairly easy A if you study.
For me personally, I really had to work for that A. Be prepare to work hard.
Extremely helpful Professor. Offers 2 extra credit opportunities which is very helpful for your grade-25 points each! She replies within the hour and she offers live chats to ask her questions regarding the current module, which you must do at least twice for the semester-20 points each, easy Overall, great professor. Learned a lot from her.
Gives everything needed to succeed in the class. Moderate amount of work and she is always there to give additional assistance/help.
Prof Rogacs was my professor for my online Philosophy Class. She is a great professor but you have to work hard for your grades. She is not an easy grader and theres tons of work. But its do able. I did this class with other classes as well. Just be prepared to work.
Took her online class and it is an easy A, just be sure to understand your material. Her tests were open book and there was homework but definitely doable and not hard. Take her class!
You have to work for this class. Lots of reading and the information is not cohesive. Take it seriously, take notes, ask questions via canvas and be on top of due dates. There are a lot of different due dates for the quizzes, exams, group projects , papers etc so be aware (NO LATE EXCEPTIONS). She comes off as a little arrogant but means well.
I love this professor so much. If you love philosophy, you're going to love this course. Trust me, there's a lot of reading in this course. The best way to tackle the course is to split the material into digestible pieces. The initial start of the class was hard, but it progressively got more straightforward and easier if you put in the work.
I took this as an online class for a full semester & really enjoyed it. Prof Rogacs is accessible, professional (but not stuffy), helpful and the course content was challenging at the beginning, but then less as it progressed. By the end of the semester, it felt easy. There are 4 group assignments, homework, reading, and 3-4 essays, etc. Recommend!
Professor Rogacs' PHIL025 class is challenging but rewarding. The workload is manageable with diligence - group assignments, essays, and exams require effort, but the course content is engaging. unstuckstudy was a helpful study tool alongside the provided textbook. Overall, an insightful philosophy class worth taking.
