OHHH MY LORD>STYLE CHANNEL CAN HELP! FRIENDLY BUT COME ON MAKE IT INTERESSSSSSSSSSTING!!!
She is a good teacher and reviews things constantly. Sometimes the class is a little boring, but aren't almost all classes boring.
style channel??? what is she there to make a fashion statement? i dont think so. She is a great teacher. Knowledgeable interesting and if you cant pass her class the problem is you. PBCC should have more teachers like her.
This lady knows what she is about. She obviously likes what she does. She definitely has the quality of a good teacher. The only thing I don't like is the amount of writing, but I guesss its a part of the course.
This is a wonderful professor. You have to study and do the work but this is what college is all about. She liokes students to participate and this is what makes her course interesting. Things come to life when you can apply what is being taught to your own life.
this lady is the best best. she works with you if your willing to pass. she is kind, understanding and is always there when you need help.
She's a great lady. She does something i've yet to see other professors do. She listens. She has an honest reason for teaching, and doesn't do it for the 'money'. She isn't stuck up or snobby like other professors. I liked her alot, and am DESPERATELY trying to get into her class again.
This professor is really nice. She kind of makes you feel like you are crazy when you say something. Always participate in class discussion, it counts for a lot of your grade. There is plenty of writing in the class and she tends to go through the presentations quickly. Over all she is a good teacher.
she is very helpful. as long as yopu come to class and do your work you will pass! plus she's a sweetheart
She is a nice person, but she expects you to teach the class. She asks way too many questions and wastes a lot of class time. Also, she looks at you like you are retarded if you answer a question incorrectly and it makes you feel dumb. If you do not like to participate in class she is definitely not someone to take.
Had her for death and dying- she seemed "put off" by the subject and conveyed it to her students. Taught the book, not the subject, apparently unable to draw from outside knowledge. Gave students "funny looks" if they said something she disagreed with or felt was incorrect. Very young- perhaps she will come into her own eventually.
She's a nice teacher. Alot of work, but it is broken down through out the semster. She tries to give extra credit towards the end and uses group work for the quiet ppl in the class for class participation. Recommend her highly if you want to know and understand what Sociology is.
Excellent professor, take this class with her, you will learn a lot, she make it interesting.
Very unclear when it comes to assignments. Ms. Seenath doesn't give too many details when she assigns work and when you ask her questions, she looks at you like you are retarded. Very opinionated and is likely to say something that offends someone. I got a B in her class, but I worked like hell to get it.
Easy class. She is very mild mannored. Not a lot of work, one 5pg report and one project that was so easy it was retarded. She isn't very clear on assignments so you HAVE to ask her about them after class, even if you think you got it. She'll be vague about the assignment then grade with detail. Tests are a little vague too, I got an A
Thought-provoking professor who doesn't attempt to push a particular agenda down your throat. Great discussions and lectures. Plan on doing a good deal of writing if you take this class, though. And stay on top of the assigned chapters, as she is known to give verbal pop quizzes.
i was very excited about taking this class. i didnt find it very fun b/c of the way she taught it. she made u feel stupid when u asked a question. i got a b in the class but i had to work much more harder that i should have.
There was a 2000 word research paper. And 4 other 300 word assignments. 4 tests, and you have to study really hard to do well. I would study a week ahead of time and get a B. Alot of questions on the tests werent from the notes or lecture.
I took this professor in Foall 05 and she was wonderful. She wanted students to participate in class and at first I was very unhappy about this. As I got over my feelings and starting participating I truly began to understand the material and do well in class. Do not be afraid to ask her questions or take her practice quiz. The practice qiuz do not
She's a great teacher and wants to help as much as she can, but it is a hard class. STUDY, STUDY, STUDY! And you'll have a long paper due at the end, so be ready for it and do all the assignments!
This an interactive class. You are encouraged to discuss the topics covered instead of always listening to lectures. Read the textbook before class, this helps and do not be afraid to ask questions. There is a long paper but if you do your assignments it is easy because she gives your feedback and suggestions. I learnt a lot in this class its fun.
If you read the chapters b4 class and participate....it is an easy A. You work on your paper all semester by submitting assignments which helps develop your paper. Tests are hard so pay attention and ask questions. She is available to you if you have any questions outside of class and responds to all e-mails.
This is a terrific instructor. I learnt a lot in this class and I really enjoyed it. Although I had to get up early it was worth it. There is a lot of interaction and application to the real world. You leave this class thinking. There is a long paper but you work on it throughout the semester and you get feedback on it. If you can take this instruc
This is an excellent professor. I loved coming to this class and I learnt a lot. She is a bit tough on the research paper and assignment but if you turn it in adhead of time she will give you feedback. This is a remarkable teacher
Do not take this teacher online. She gives way too much work. You have 4 exams that cover 3-4 chapters at a time. Then you have 3 assignments and a 2000 word essay at the end of the semester. If you can't attend online chat room classes she makes you answer 10-20 questions that have 10 parts to the answer.
I'm taking the online course and so far so good. Yes, this teacher gives a lot of work, but what do people expect? It's a Gordon Rule class!! Attending the chat room sessions is very important if you want to do good on the tests. She basically gives the answers out and it also helps to clarify the material. Overall, very helpful Prof.
This teacher is very helpful. she doesnt move on to a new topic until the class tells her they understand the previous materials. Before a test she will ask questions from the actual test, to give you an idea on what kind of questions there will be. the research paper is not hard at all, just do the assignments. GREAT teacher
Nice teacher but very strict. Passing her tests are not likely, even if you study hard. We had great class discussions on society though. Just work extra hard and study weeks in advanced and you'll do fine.
Professor Seenath is very knowledgeable about the subject matter and passionate about teaching others. The online chat sessions are very helpful. I learned a lot and this class was fairly easy if you do the work and study.
This is one of the best instructors I have had. You don't just learn facts. You get to relate what you are learning to real life. Exams are easy if you attend class and go to the reviews. I also found the chapter guides very helpful. Take this instructor. You will not regret it.
Very clear and willing to listen. Allows class to have discussions, everyone has a chance to speak and class respects each other. Test are very fair, you just have to pay attention to her, and you will have no problems. If you need the extra help she is there to help you understand.
she is a good teacher a little unclear BUT ask her she won't mind especially if your a student that Participates!!! If you can make her laugh, your on her good side but don't be a disruption. I had a high B and she told me if I want an A to write an essay, SO I WROTE and got my A.
I enjoyed this course and was able to get a better understanding of my social world.
I have nothing but wonderful things to say about this woman. She worked very hard to make her class fun. She's very patient and very willing to help. Trust me, the class is not easy, but she teaches the subject very well, almost to a point where you don't need the book because everything she teaches is what she expects you to know.
DO NOT TAKE ONLINE! LOTS of work! I think she believes you need to do more since you aren't on campus.I am an A student so I'm not afraid to work but this was insane!Tests difficult. The practice tests don't do much good since she doesn't ask the same questions on the actual exam!Seems nice enough and probably is a better class on campus.
She is very nice and helpful. Her class i found very easy, and i feed i learned from it.
This was a great class... but if you are attending to a marriage and also a career think twice before taking this in a summer session. There are 13 assignments about 12 questions each and each question has multiple parts. A lot of times assignments are due on the same days as tests! This is not a fluff class be prepared to work VERY hard.
SHE IS THE WORST TEACHER EVER!! WOULD NOT HELP WITH ANY QUESTIONS YOU HAD ONLY CHOSE HER FAVORITE STUDENTS FOR QUESTIONS AND EXTRA CREDIT I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS TEACHER!!
I disagrre with the last students rating I had this professor during the summer and found her class useful even today. She offered extra credit to everyone because it was online and she announced it. Sometimes I would ask her stupid questions and she responded to them all. She is very good at what she does. Tough but fair.
Great teahing style. Gets students involved. She is very helpful and understanding.
I don't particularly like her and I don't pay attention to her in class, and I do well on the tests. You're better off using class time to read the chapters. She has an accent and is soft spoken. She's not the worst teacher, but certainly not all that amazing.
Dont get fooled, SHE IS NOT EASY. Shes got this nice face that fools you. Is very taugh on grades. You have be in class ALL TIMES and if you dont participate and become her favorite student you are not going to get a very good grade. Makes you do this taugh paper for such a low grade. Test are alright SHES NOT AN EASY A.
I loved this class!!! I was interested in Death and Dying prior to taking it, but I learned a lot about customs and the history of death and dying. Each chapter has between 15-25 questions you have to answer. So answer them accurately, they help on the exams.
I don't know what some of those students are talking about. I was not interested in this course when I first signed up for it but as the semester went by I got really interested in it and I actually looked forward to class at 8 a.m. in the morning :). This Professor is always willing to help you. You have to study and attend her reviews.
I took this teacher for Death and Dying and found her to be awesome. I look at the media differently because of what I learnt in this class. It is not a morbid class
I took this Professor online an found the course to be easy. At first I was not using the class notes so she kept returning my work because I kept getting certain questions wrong. I also found that the questions were very helpful with the exams as well as the self tests and quizzes.
If you read the book and can answer questions then take the class. Not a very easy class. Tests are not really based on notes and chapter questions that you do. When asked for help, didn't really help in any way.

VERY BORING AND SPOKE TO ONLY A SELECTED FEW IN THE CLASS. THE 2ND WORST TEACHER I EVER HAD.
She is a good professor. She offers help, and does care about your interest in passing. Especially when it all comes down to a final grade. If you show you care, put in a lot of effort, success is only ahead. I will take her next time, in the near future.
Great teacher! very helpful and willing to repeat herself. She gives out a lot of extra credit so make sure you do them. Her tests are very easy, take notes!! if she writes it on the board it will be on the test. The short essay questions come right out of the book so make sure you do a little bit of reading. Overall Great teach.
Was not satisfied with her. I took her online and she was not quick to respond to emails. Do not take her in the summer, she gives you just the same amount of work as if you were taking a normal 6 month semester. Very hard on grading assignments. Overall, not the best teacher.
Great teacher! Lots of work over summer session. (on-line) Post your work early! She is helpful and quick to respond to e-mails. I would recommend her class. Study for the tests, though. The tests were difficult. I got an A in the class!
She's a great teacher and very kind. She explains and reviews before exams, and she is always trying to give her students extra points to get higher grades. Great teacher!

I took her online Sociology class. Seenath's class was very interesting. Her directions are very clear, and you have to pay attention. Do not take her online if you are unable to follow explicit direction. You must read the text. No way around it. On a brighter note, much of her testing is right from her "class notes". Fair tests, though.
I dreaded going to her class. She creates pointless group activities that do not help you with the exams what so ever. There are questions on the exams that are not apart of the chapters being tested on. She looks at you like you are a moron when you answer a question incorrectly & always looking for an answer w/ a deeper meaning . Has favorites.
She is very clear about what you need to do to get a good grade and is willing to work with you. Study and always read before class and you can get extra credit as well as a good grade. go to her with any problems you are having and she will help and work with you. some pop up quizes but only for extra credit...
I took this professor for a online death and dying class, she was very helpful and nice. I had a hard time with some of the assignments and she still gave me full credit just for the effort. I would recommend her to any one. SHE IS GREAT!
I really liked this class. Professor Seenath is a great teacher and she really knows what she is talking about. Come to class and do your assignments, she even lets you pick between a term paper or a way easier community service paper. Take this class you will definitely learn something.
A teacher that cares about her students is a good teacher to me despite what little of an accent she does have. Show up and Do the work and you'll be great!
I took her for Intro to Sociology. Shes really nice and the material is pretty interesting, you learn about society and how people interact in america and around the world. Like I said shes nice and the class is fun you do a lot of fun group activities but the tests are kind of hard and she grades kind of tough on the research paper.
Shes cute and she makes class interesting. She puts you into groups to help you better understand the tests. I got all 83, 84, and 86 on all 3 tests but i got a 95 on my research paper n i got an A in the class
Great class!! Professor Seenath is a great teacher, prepares you for what you need to know to pass the class. Provides an extra credit assignment, several quizzes and chapter exams. Glad I took her class.
She is not a good teacher I wonder If some student are crazy saying she is good uh m m she is the worst teacher I ever see. She should be retired already. She does not know how to teach.
Very difficult online class tests do not reflect assignments excessivly heavy work load could not get any answers when asked for help. studying for tests is excrutiating because there are always questions that are not covered through notes or endless discussion and vocab and general chapter questions.
I am taking an online course with this professor and although we have weekly assignments and discussions I find that the work helps me understand the material better. This professor is also responsive to any questions I have and the notes are helpful in completing the assignments.
DO NOT TAKE HER ONLINE. This class is impossible to get an A in. I am a straight a student and could note get higher than a B on the tests because all of the questions are not in the book or class notes or practice tests. Also, her grading is inconsistent. she will give you a B if you have one wrong and then the next time an A if you have 3 wrong.
terrible professor. She teaches this class like a dictator. She is not open to any suggestions, and if you have a different opinion than her in the discussion, she will mark you down. Pretty ironic for a class focusing on diversity. Her test questions are nowhere to be found in the review questions, or notes, or the book.Terrible job teaching.
I've taken her for three sociology classes online and she's consistent. One assignment and one discussion are due each week. They are straight from the textbook and easy. Although tests are difficult she gives numerous opportunities for extra credit. There is also one research paper. Overall, she is fair and knows her subject.
still taking here for intro to sociology. Lots of group activities that do not make much sense. Homework is easy, a weekly assignment due once a week and test on 3 chapters at a time. Tests are very hard. Also requires a 7 page research paper with a lot of requirements. She is a tough grader. Take class only if you are planning to be interactive
Too much work for a syg2000 class.Tests are tough so take her online. She gives lots of extra credit so as long as you do it-helpful.13 essays plus 2 on every test and 2 long term papers. All for sociology-Your killin me.
the group activities she gave was the most effective way in helping me learn. she also did mini reviews of the chapter which helped me a little.she has a very low voice. on the exams she requires you to remember too many names at once. it began extremely difficult to remember who did what especially when two people shared similar names.i suggest sh
the group activities she gave was the most effective way in helping me learn. But she gives alot of work in the sense of term papers and "extra credit".she has a very low voice. on the exams she requires you to remember too many names at once. it began extremely difficult to remember who did what especially when two people shared similar names.
This class should b Honors. Every wk theres a 4 pg h/work, a posting & reply. Tests r impossible 2 get A on even w/ open book I never got higher than a C. The ??s R not written properly so you can?t answer them properly. Prof. is nice & available but that doesn?t help ur grade. Don?t recommend her online class if u have more than 3 classes
I just took this spring semester and this teacher is horrible. She gives a paper every week, a paper proposal, reseach paper and like 7 test! Her test came from the book & notes so yes, you do need to study both and she makes her own test question. She does not grade fairly. Do not take her !
Best Professor!! If you want to learn and be interested in this subject, take her.
Online class: Be prepared to work for your grade; you can not just skate by. Invest in the current text edition to make your life easier! Prof. Seenath. is intelligent and attentive - I learned a lot. Recommended!
I admit, that you do get a lot of work, but it is not hard. It is only time consuming. The tests are not hard if you read the chapters. She tells you whats on it. Also, she's pretty hot.
The worst teacher I have every had. I took SYG2000 Intro to Sociology online with her and it is hard. Weekly assignments, discussions, and exams are next to impossible. DO NOT TAKE HER CLASSES! Her expectations are crazy.
She is hard but if you enjoy writing you will enjoy her online class. She is good at feedback, as she is always handy for the students that she teaches. But too many papers were done for this one teacher.
My only wish is that I had never taken this class. The book is awful. Instead of introducing us to sociology, with words that we understand. The writers try's to confuse the reader and forget the part of INTRO. I wonder if this is how the rest of the sociology world talks. The second reason that I am not happy with this class is the language ba
Helpful to an extent. If you take this class online, be prepared to do lots of work and lots of reading that is time consuming to prepare you for her tests. Be sure work is literally perfect, if not good luck in succeeding. If you work hard and turn things in on time and do them to the best of your ability, it still may not be good enough for her.
She is sweet, but the class is hard. This professor was very helpful to those of us that asked questions. She didn't make us feel stupid. If you expect easy, don't take this class. Professor Seenath follows the book, chapter per chapter. The pretest were extremely helpful.
took her for American Minoritis Today. DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS!!!!! All I can say is I am considering burning this text book after I am done with it. For an elective class this was pretty hard. harder than my Bio clas, or literature class or any other one I took at PBSC. too much stress online. And she is barely there to help.
Guidelines and expectations are absolutely ridiculous. Save yourself a lot of frustration and don't choose this professor.
Of course you have to write a lot for this class. It touches on some very deep topics that must be explained. In all, she grades reasonably (hint: write in complete sentences) and tests are taken straight from the book. She even gave an Ex-credit assignment. And I actually enjoyed her projects. Everyone could benefit from this course.
I took her for Death & Dying, which is a great course, it's not what you think. While she is somewhat boring, she does know her material well. She's very understanding of personal (REAL) emergencies. The projects she assigns are cool. I'd like to take her again for Marriage & Family just because she's predictable. Tests aren't hard at all.
Great professor, friendly and fun. Made the material interesting. Tests relevant to classroom lectures. Assignments detailed but fair and with specific instruction. Would take again.
Seriously one of the sweetest people I've ever worked with! I took her online sociology class, and as long as you stay on top of things, it's VERY easy to get an A+. There were many extra credit opportunities, and the course was actually interesting. I would recommend her to ANYONE!!! Take this class!!!
I took her for Death & Dying over the summer. She is a great teacher and really knows what she's talking about. Pretty easy class. I had to do 1 report and 1 project. As long as you pay attention and are present during class, tests are not hard. I got an A.
Took her online SYG2000 course and it is extremely differcult. Please do not take her class I wish someone would have warned me. It was too much work she is requirung and the work is very hard.
Her expectations are completely unrealistic. She has no idea how to properly use and grade APA format. She deducted points for not "properly using APA format" when I clearly did, this is my third post secondary degree and I use the Purdue website to format. I will NEVER take her class again.
NEVER AGAIN! This is my third post secondary degree and this woman is completely unreasonable with her expectations. She deducts point for APA but doesnt even know how to properly format it. She once gave me a 10/13 on a 500 sentence discussion because I responded to another post with 4 sentences rather than 6! REALLY!?
Impossible to please. Expect tons of reading and homework is hours long. I was left thinking this to shall pass..and when the semester ended I was well to happy.
I love professor seenath she is a great teacher she actually cares about her students opinion and she is super helpful
this was the best professor i ever had she really knows here stuff and encourages debate, note: she will argue with you right or wrong get use to it. 10pg research paper, grades like a scholar professor. u will use the crap out of ur book hope u like reading. but her class is worth it like sociology or not i feel in love!!
I'm currently taking her class online and it is very easy. She has a weekly discussion that really makes you think. I'm however not finding the course very interesting. You get plenty of extra credit with the weekly chapter questions. I will edit my review after I finish the course.
Online class. Worked hard for my grade A. Prof. Seenath.is helpful but she demands a lot reading and writing. She will meet with you. She grades tough; Tests are taken from the book, the notes. She gives Ex-credit assignments. I enjoyed her class tremendously. Everyone could benefit from this course.
Very hard! Her expectations are ridiculous. I highly recommend not taking her, especially online! She gives alot of work and is a VERY poor grader. She makes you feel less or her and is not an understanding professor.
She always dressed professionally, always had a sense of intuitive teachings, she would group projects that allowed us to get use to each other. The class did not feel interpersonal at all. She has an interesting way of teachings and is very understanding to creativity. She always gave breaks and abides by the Syllabus. :)
Impossibly hard. She will deduct points just because. Basically if you do what she asks you'll get an 80 percent. If you go above and beyond and cure cancer; you'll get an A.
Professor Seenath is always an email or phne call away. I was having difficulties with my online exam so I emailed her and she called me right away.
I took this Professor for American inorities and was impressed with the work and material. This was an easy class and a good elective
I just did my last assignment in this class. The certificate activites are great. It was the first time I saw them in an online class.
Really good Professor. Easy to relate to and the tests are from class discussions
I loved this class and the way the material was presented. Everyone should take this class. The Professor was great and it was not difficult to get an A.
Very relatable Professor and fun discussions
liked the class
Love this class. th online and in class work was helpful
cool teacher
nice and helpful
I like this Professor. She is not hard at all. Shouldn't extra credit be graded
I got an A on my paper. It was easy to write
I like online classes. This class was easy for me.
There is some writing in this course but it is doable.
Just took my final and got 100. Finals week of HOOOOOOOOOOOOORAY
Everyone should take this class
Very interesting class. Professor Seenath knows her stuff. There is alot to remember for her test. She likes to know that you have a full understanding of whats on the test. So she goes over the materials well. My first two test scores where horrible, my final was well over 100 pts.the presentation and all the extra credits. Got an A Love her
Death and Dying was a very interesting class. Professor Seenath had more confidence in abilities to learn than some of us ourselves. I would advise this class. If you know stuff you will come out of this class with an A
She is a kindhearted Professor and great at what she does
Really nice. She knows her stuff but may value student participation a little too much. See her after class and she'll be glad to help you. Tests are easy if you study. Everything is based on the syllabus. Lots and I mean LOTS of extra credit.
This teacher is simply AMAZING! The class was fun and beneficial. I learned a lot from it. No need to purchase a textbook.
I was not interested in this course bu I got interested because of the discussions. Did not need the textbook. Cool class
Really nice and understanding lady but the test's are insanely hard. Barely anything comes from the practice tests or lecture notes. It's all from the book. But she does gives you 2 attempts on each and is really quick on returning emails. Not a hard class but I wouldn't want to take her online again.
Nice professor. Tests are very hard but she grades on a curve. Reading the textbook is the only way to do well on the tests. Class is an A if you read the textbook.
Very easy course. The self tests help with the exams online.
if you go talk to her one on one she's very understanding.
GREAT job teaching. I recommend her to everyone that needs a sociology class, and/or any other course subject that she is affiliated with. She allows everyone to speak freely. She's amazing! Gives loads of extra credit!, class participation is important, Credit for that as well! Notes given for every test! Just take her class okay! lol
Very nice and understanding
I love her class, she was nice, very helpful and class discussions were always enteresting. she allowed you to talk freely, she gives loads of extra credit, being in class is extra credit so come to class! also participate, priint out every note, pay attention, and be prepared to use your sociological imagination
Very good class. Material was taught explained well
Very nice teacher. We can use a note card for the tests. Drops lowest test grade. A lot of extra credit and already has the notes for every chapter.
Very understanding, a lot of extra credits and chances to help you improve your grade. good teacher.
She is an awesome, kind, caring person who wants you to succeed. She does expect you to meet the requirements of course like every teacher does. But she is very helpful when you need it and will really put thought into helping you. If you do what is required, you should have no problem getting an A and learning something too.
This prof. is amazing. The sweetest in all of PBSC. She does give a long paper but its doable. And she makes the tests VERY easy. Lets you have a notecard for test & does review right before test in class. She's just all around perfect. Will be taking all of her classes after Soc
I took her class for death and dying and it was really interesting and I finished with an A, but now I am taking the intro to sociology and I am not doing as well as I would like. I think the grading is unfair and way too much work for an intro class.
She is a nice teacher, and she doesn't give a lot of work.
Her class is easy and she is very helpful. She like a class that actually communicate with each other and interact well.
This teacher is really easy to please. It's necessary to know the information, but it's not hard to do so. Take lots of notes. The tests are based off the textbook, ppt, interactive notes, and practice quizzes. It's kind of time consuming, but it really isn't hard at all. I enjoyed this class. It was a breeze.
Shes such a sweet teacher. Class is very interesting. She loves class participation, it helps the discussions go alot better. Not to many assignments, gives extra credit that helps on tests. Tests arent to difficult. There is a paper, but its not to bad. Make friends in the class, it will help too. Gives you notes to print out, and the book is online in case you didnt wanna buy it. I would take her again.
Great professor, loves participation. If you fail it's because you're a lazy student :-)
Great teacher! Definitely recommend! Pay attention, show up, participate and study the notes. She drops the lowest grade, the final project is optional and there are tons of extra cred, she keeps it fun, no real powerpoints heavy boring lectures, mainly discussions so definetly review material before class starts
Great class, great professor. Would take again. She does like participation and I felt that since I didn't participate much she graded me a little harder than the others. She does have a research paper or volunteer paper at the end of the semester which she even states she grades harshly. Textbook and taking notes helped a lot.
she is amazing !
She's a very good professor. She does expect participation. The lectures are not boring at all. Tons and tons of extra credit. Love her for that. Allows a flash card on exams. Tests are not hard if you read notes that are provided. Textbook provided. There is a tedious research paper at the end though. Overall, it's a good class
Expect an easy A if you participate and ask questions about stuff you don't understand
She is a great teacher. There are 3 exams and one research paper which is in APA. Shes a very encouraging teacher and is very communicative. She grades assignments in a timely manner.
Expect to participate a lot, she's really big on that and part of your grade is based on it. The tests are easy if you review her online study sheets but the paper you have to write is long and graded strictly. I felt like a lot of this class was learning by participation and other students. But she is pretty nice.
She's pretty good at explaining things and wants to make sure that the whole class understands. Most of the material on the test is from notes, some info is in the book. She's an easy grader for certain things but she's very tough on papers. Be sure to attend class regularly and study a lot!
The class was much more difficult then i expected, so just study really hard if you want to pass, and for the paper she is really tough on it so really do every little thing she asks for, she does give extra credit so make sure you get that, and participate because it is a big part of your grade.
Great teacher this was the second class i took with her. She was great.
I took her online course, for the most part weekly assignments were easy. There was a tendency to tell you a test or paper was due, but not a whole lot of detail was given as to what would be on the test or what was expected from the paper. It also wasn't clear about how things would be graded, or how to calculate your total grade.
I met with professor, she is awesome person and very helpful. She responds to email, test is like a 70 min. In class test but as long as you read the material you'll do fine. Do the assignments in blackboard a post certificate, it's a simple process and helps because the info is what's in the test. Good online class!
Had her for Death and Dying and I was warned by many not to take it online. Her coursework is tedious but doable. Little quizzes and discussion posts were a piece of cake; exams are VERY difficult (a lot to remember). Stay ontop of BB. Class was very interesting and I did learn a lot from it; I will give her that. You def work hard for your grade.
She's a great professor and grades accordingly to how hard you try. The papers are easy if you apply yourself.
Seenath is one of the hardest teachers I have ever taken. She rambles on and on about her lecture and her notes make zero sense as she's all over the place going back and forth between topics. Her paper needs to be PERFECT for you to get a good grade and has so many requirements to it. As well as doing a group project. If you can do that, take her.
Kind of a hard grader, assignments aren't too lengthy but does require alot of effort. Took class online, Professor is good at responding to emails in a timely manner. Tests don't really match notes, great ready to read (better read the chapters a few times).
Super easy and interesting class but I took it as a dual enrollment student over the summer. She gives A LOT of extra credit opportunities. Be sure to participate in class discussions because it's part of your grade. She gives links to the notes that go along with the lecture. Very fair teacher. There was a group project at the end, but it was fun.
A lot of work required for this class. If you do them on time and follow her guidelines its pretty easy to get As. Tough grader on the course paper. Interactive notes were my saving grace. Makes you work but it is definitely possible to get a good grade.
She is overall a great professor. She is very clear with assignments. As long as you follow the course schedule you will pass. It was a very interesting class to take. She provides the text book online so you don't have to purchase it. The lessons are very easy to follow and she gives extra credit opportunities.
Took Class online, class notes do not match exams. Make sure you read the book more than once if possible. Tough grader, she is really good at responding to emails, grades are usually posted within reasonable time. 4 tests, 2 projects, not much EC. Make sure not to fall behind, NO LATE WORK ACCEPTED. Learned alot from course. Just gotta work HARD!
Great Professor. One of the best I've taken at PBSC because she really cares about her students. Your gonna read and class is an open discussion so the more you participate the better your going to do.
If you really wanted to learn something this is the professor for you. She expects you to participate and have the material really shine through you. Which is great for those who really want to learn about their subject. She was also very generous to those who put in the necessary effort. Amazing professor.
I took this course online. The basic set up is a power point chapter presentation, interactive chapter notes, and discussion topics. The book was a free download. You really need to read the chapter and do the self assessments to do well on the tests. There is a term paper assignment, 7-10 pages. She's very willing to help, just ask.
She expects everyone has to know Sociology. The tests are really hard, she only talks in class and she gives you poor notes that cover only few parts, then in the tests she add more things we did not cover in class. If you have to take the credit, don't take the class. It's not easy at all. You have to study day and night to get an A.
Professor Seenath has been one of my favorite professors. She does require a 7-10 page paper, that she takes extremely serious and grades it tough, however, if you do the homework, participate in class, and STUDY you will be fine and pass . Her tests are fair, again she does require reading so if you arent into that, don't take her.
I love this Professor
Awesome Professor. Really wants you to pass
This is a life changing course. I would like to take another course with this Professor in a heart beat
I'm currently enrolled in her Sociology class. She gets you thinking about everything, she wants you to learn by relating her course to your life experiences. She's very sweet and she allows freedom of ideas and class discussion is the entire class hour. She also gives a BUUNCHHHH of extra credit.
I took Professor Seenath as a dual enrollment student, and in comparison to AP and IB courses, this class was easy. She gives you many opportunities to receive extra credit, as her tests were graded with extra credit built in. It is a point-based class, and if you receive a certain amount of points, you can forego the final project. I loved her!
Professor Seenath is a great professor. She makes class fun by working on activities in small groups. The lectures can be all over the place at times, but provided examples to help. Participation is key in passing the class. Tests are related to lecture just study her notes. One big paper 7-9 pgs, but provides a checklist. Lots of extra credit.
I took Professor Seenath for Honors Sociology and she is the nicest professor I have ever met. Her faculty page has all of the chapter printouts - this was the only source I used to study for the exams and I got an A on every single one. Don't buy the book, she has an online version! She is a super hard grader for the research paper so be careful.
Professor Seenath was the most inspirational and interresting professor I ever had. She was very clear, and she gives good example in order to understand the material. I loved her class and her personality. She really make you think deeper into it and open your eyes on problems in our society. I did not know I would actually like this class....
You litterally will fall asleep your FIRST DAY of class & you might as well bring your pillow and blanket for the rest of the semester! Professor Seenath is a very nice professor HOWEVER she just stands in the front of the class & basically WHISPERS ! The tone of her voice is so low and unenthusiastic , which means her lectures are torture !
I just got my mid term grade from this Professor and was very surprise by the fact that she took the time to comment on my performance and show me how I can do well in her class. The student next to me was happy with his grade.
If you pay attention in class the class is easy.
Took sociology online her power points provided were very helpful! Weekly attendance and submitting you assignments on time is key. Not too difficult just don't slack off and you'll do fine.
She is really nice and sweet. Very understanding all you have to do is talk to her. At first, she may seem a little challenging but she is one of the nicest professors you'll meet.
One of the most interesting classes I have taken. The professor was very engaging and encouraged students to include personal experience into class time. It was very eye-opening. One of the best classes I've taken. Great professor.
She is such a tough grader. It is so hard to get a 100% on her assignments. I took her online and regret it. She assigned a group project for extra credit. I made a C in the course. I wouldnt take her again.
You have to work for your grade. She assigns a lot of work and take off points when late. Assignments due at 11:00pm not at 11:59pm. Her tests are only 70 mins with 50 questions be prepared. Discussions every week , homework assignment, and responding to a post in a post first discussion. Nice class just work ahead of time. You can get an A
she cares about her students whatever is going on just talk to her and she will try to help as much as she can
Professor Seenath is AMAZING. She explains every concept on the test and makes you want to participate. She even lets you use note cards on tests. You can honestly pass her tests without reading the textbook because she explains everything and makes study guides for each chapter. She truly wants her students to succeed.
Picky and tough grader. Hard to get an A no matter how hard you try, even the extra credit isn't accepted unless it's perfect!! Expects participation or your grade is affected. She takes attendance before class starts AND before it ends each time. I would NEVER take her again!! Pick a different professor over her if you can.
Professor Seenath is an amazing professor. It was an actual class and not an online one so there may be some differences as online classes are usually much more work oriented. You've got to read the material or shocker you won't pass. Gives review materials and even goes over on test day. No reason you shouldn't pass unless you're lazy.
She is AWESOME AND SUPER SWEET!! I took her for Syg2000 and she made the class very easy, her tests are 50 questions but they are super easy. You don't need a book, just print out the powerpoint. If you take notes from her lectures and participate you will get an A.
I took this class online thinking it would be easy an easy A, but instead she assigns a lot of assignments and never gives you full points for anything, She always seemed to find something to take points off. Very picky with grading. Be sure to read her instructions very carefully. Good thing is that you do not need a book!
she is in whole different world, can't even take comments in class. gets mad if you don't agree with her.
A.W.F.U.L!! IMPOSSIBLE to get an A in this class. Extremely tough grader! Interactive assignments have spelling errors & are grammatically incorrect. DO NOT TAKE THIS PROFESSOR! I had to email every week (w phone photos) to make corrections that were marked wrong that should have been right. She did correct them but that took unnecessary time.
Hands down one of the worst professors ive taken. If you want to take this class just know that she gives out a lot of work and makes it near impossible to receive an A. Shes a tough grader. Needs a reality check. Its just an elective course.
AWFUL!!!! "TOUGH GRADER" doesn't even cut it. You will NEVER get 100% on anything! Impossible to please. >( DO NOT TAKE HER!!!!!
I took her for Syg2000 and she made the class very easy, her tests are 50 questions but they are super easy.
She cares for her students and knows the material.
has handouts and gives lots of help to pass. I thought I was failing but ended up passing with the paper
Took this Professor online. The course is well structured and she answered my emails quickly. Just turn in your work and you will pass
Taking this Professor now. Lot's of work but it is easy.
I took professor Seenath for sociology online. The class was pretty easy, there is a 10 page paper at the end on a topic of your choice. It's not as bad as it sounds. The assignments are straightforward. Overall the class was easy.
easy to work with
I paid attention in class and read the notes. Reviews were helpful
I took her online summer course, he homework/busy work is not bad its actually really simple but shes a little picky with discussion posts and shes really extra for her papers. She just wants you to put literally everything you learned in this course into your paper. She super nice emails back fast her class is easy if you do the work the right way
I took this course online. Weekly assignments including chapter work/questions and discussion board topics. 10 page paper at the end of the course. 4 exams, lowest one dropped. The exams are not difficult if you review the weekly chapter work and do the reviews. The overall grading is pretty strict, especially for the paper. VERY TIME CONSUMING.
THE COURSE WORK IS SO INSANE!!! SHE GIVES SO MUCH WORK AND YOU HAVE NO TIME TO CATCH YOUR BREATHE. Do not take this class if you have a full time school and work schedule.
She is the best professor I've ever taken! Gives lots of opportunity for extra credit. She teaches the lectures in a very clear way and she always keeps it interesting. I learned so much from her class and it was a very easy workload.
She is helpful
This professor gives a lot of course work and shes a tough grader. Very picky of what she gives out. Definitely participate a lot in this class. She gives some extra credit opportunities. I personally did not like her teaching style, it was very lecture heavy and asked a lot of questions for us to answer and waited till there was an answer
Based on the other comments I read about Professor Seenath, I wasnt hesitant to take her class. There is only one big paper which isnt that bad because you have 3 different choices to write it. Her test are relatively easy and if you pay attention in class, you should be able to pass them. A lot of opportunity for extra credit.
I was hesitant to take her class. She turned out to be an amazing professor who gives so many opportunities for extra credit. Really easy class and if you pay attention, you will definitely pass the class with a good grade. Theres a paper due but you have 3 options on how to write it. She is caring and will work with you if you need help.
I wish i took it serious when I saw the comments "Do not take her class" I literally had to contact the school because she basically avoids my emails lol. She acts like you're a kindergartner. She picks fav students and literally lectures them only. She doesn't help you with the grades. Expectations are unhelpful. Don't. take. her. class.
impossible to get an A never returns to emails if you're not her favourite, grading is hilarious and unfair. makes you feel like a kindergarden student, i regret ever paying for this class. grades are based on things that arent even specified. it was like a joke and im glad it's finally ending. Hated it. Never again.
Don't buy a textbook. The whole class I used powerpoints and handouts posted within chapters. There were 3 exams during the class, Spread out about 3 weeks each. The class is a Gordon Rule class, so if you want to pass, you have to submit the final paper on time. Start the paper at the beginning of the class. Each day late is only 3 points.
Super nice lady and the work is not too bad.
I thought this course was interesting before signing up for it and found that it exceeded my expectations. If you do the weekly activities you will learn something new and will definitely pass the class
Cool class, Everyone should take it. Just to the weekly homework and you will pass
Easy class. One paper. 6pages and you have options to choose from
Really nice Professor. A few exams, a 6 page paper and one presentation. Participation also counts.
This lady listens and cares. She will help you if you ask for help but, you need to ask. The paper was easy. She gives you a choice and will help you with it if you ask for help.
This is an easy class if you do the work. Lot's of extra credit. Discusses current events and allows you to share your opinion
one paper which is not too bad and a few tests. She has reviews for the test and the notes are very helpful. Pay attention and you will pass with an A
Professor Seenath is a tough grader but there are a lot of extra credits. DO THE EXTRA CREDITS.!! Theres one major research paper make sure you do well. DO NOT SKIP CLASS. She take attendance. The book is online. Her class was interesting but make sure to participate in class if you dont she will call you out. It wasnt hard to get an A
Really nice
Easy class
Professor Seenath was extraordinarily passionate and interactive regarding her sociology class. I learned more than anticipated and appreciated her feedback, help, and genuine care for the subject matter.
She wants you to pass, and does everything in her power to help you. Will be looking for her when choosing future courses. 10/10!
If you need an easy elective take it with her! She is super caring. Homework due every week a long with discussion boards. There are two easy projects. Do not slack off and keep up with homework or your grade will drop. Study for her tests and youll be just fine.
She is someone who really cares and is great at communicating. The class was easy however many of her assignments take a lot of time and sometimes felt redundant, practice reviews, quizzes, and exams had many questions around 40-50 questions. You really have to dedicate time to read all chapters and squeeze in all the assignments b4 deadline.
Excellent professor responds quickly. In my opinion for death and dying the book is not needed. However, when you take this class you must THOROUGHLY read the interactive notes. They are essential to the exam. Participation is also encouraged. Practice quizzes r also not similar to the exam which is a bit inconvenient. Discussions are interesting
AVOIDDDDD, she didn't help when questions were asked and have limited time on in class assignments. will never take her again
avoid avoid avoid. I took this class over the summer to try and get it completed quickly, but so much work was thrown and a 10 page research paper (ridiculous for a summer class). Says you also need the text book but usually provides the links for each chapter for you to read.
This class was confusing all along, professor is not clear and messy. Her notes were so badly done she'd correct herself during lectures, uses powerpoints which we had no access to outside of class. I Was never able to get an A on quizzes and projects because her instructions were vague and never correlated with the material. Dont recommend.
Honestly, this class was pretty easy. The only reason I ended with a C is because I slacked off towards the end. But, professor Seenath is really caring, if you reach out to her, she does respond quickly. Extra credit! There was discussion boards and interactive notes due every week. But, overall her class is easy. Only need to manage your time
Take this one...Fascinating Class. Professor Seenath is available and responds. She sends out reminders and encouraging emails. There is a lot of reading, but it is interesting and informative. Great discussions with classmates, great Professor; four exams, and some extra credit ops. The text book is needed or you will not have all info for exams.
I took her class for Death & Dying, and she mentioned you don't need a textbook to pass her class, but you do. LOTS OF HOMEWORK. There were MANY discussion posts; her interactive notes comprised 40-60 questions, 15 chapters, and two projects. One was a wishes project, writing a "will" 8 pages, a Powerpoint presentation of 16 slides, and 4 exams.
Tough grader. 3 exams ( 100 questions she made up). 2 projects ( tough grader, good luck!). I did not have a choice, if you do, do yourself a favor and take someone else. It is not impossible, you will pass but shes a headache and there are times you may fear failing. Shes TOUGH! Sounds sweet but its a facade loll. RUN!!!
This professor was pretty good overall. The only issue I had was the exams. She gives three big exams throughout the semester, so there is much to cover and study for. I also saw many questions on the exams that were not in our study material or things we covered. I am an honor student but I did not do well on her exams.
VERY lecture heavy and missing more than 3 classes results in a letter grade dropped. She wants you to understand her topics but is a very tough grader on the one paper for the semester. Not many assignments, mostly participation points through NearPod. Each exam (3 of them) is timed for about 80 minutes with 50 questions, not enough time imo.
She gives out a good amount of extra credit assignments that are easy to complete. (giving her suggestions on how she can improve the class, what you did to prepare for exams, etc.) The only thing I had a problem with (not really) was discussion replies. Mentioning as many concepts as possible helped me get full points. She's thoughtful and nice.
Professor Seenath's class is manageable if you stay on top of the work. The material is interesting, and she provides helpful extra credit opportunities. To excel, use unstuckstudy ai alongside the textbook and participate actively in class.
Love this professor. Actually responds to emails with concern and solution. If there is a glitch anywhere in the modules, she answers and works to solve. Not like the others he won't even reply! Wants and supports her students to do well. My only wish is that I could have her in future classes! Take the class, you will be happy you did.
Professor Seenath is very kind and does try to help her students but I do think a lot of the work she assigns is not always helpful for the topics being discussed in class. She definitely wants her students to succeed but is a harsh grader. The class was interesting and not too challenging but be aware of “busy work.”
super sweet and helpful, catered class to students needs. very encouraging. not many assignments, mainly tests and participation, so make sure you study well. one 10 page paper, 4 tests, one class led discussion. questions on the test can be difficult to understand, but professor seenath makes it a lot easier. i wish i could take this class again !
Great Professor!
I love Ms. Seenath, and she really gets the class excited to talk and learn more about sociology. I left her class with a deeper passion for my major. tests are easy, she gives all the answers in lectures. easy homework as well. will miss having her class.
Overall, this is an easy class with a passing grade if you submit work weekly. At the end of the term, there are projects based on the material in the course that are a considerable percentage of the grade. Professor Seenath provides clear feedback and offers extra credit at the end of the term.
Tough grader. Will take points off for minor things. Another professor obsessed with AI and plagiarism.
This class was great! Professor Senate is SO caring. She was understanding of a family emergency, does regular check-ins, and gives good feedback. The material is fun and easy to understand. I definitely recommend this course with her!
This professor is very understanding and caring. If you meet with her and explain Ur situation she will be very lenient with you. Ur allowed to turn in late work for all assignments. The tests are a bit long, but she gives so many easy extra credit opportunities throughout the course. I would recommend taking her.
This professor was very nice, although she is more old fashioned. Tests are hard, but if you study her practice tests you will be fine. On the discussion posts and Nearpod activities, she will always find something wrong and mark 1-3 points off. Make sure to complete assignments and discussion posts on time and you will pass.
