She is great. She knows what she is doing. You might have a difficult time understanding her because of her russian accent. But over all, one of the best. I have never understood math before i had her.

i took this lady the summer of 2005, and it was easy. i am totaly totaly totaly not good at math, but i passed w/ a "C". she will review the examples until u understand it.

She is very easy. Just pay close attention, do homework, and study for quiz. She do have a very strong accent so watch out!

Professor Slaavina is THEE best!!! Sh'es a very educated woman who actually is interested in your succcess! I took MAT1033 at Miami-Dade 3 times and failed all 3 times. THEN, I go to Broward College, one try and I pass. Math isn't hard, you Just need Slaavina! She's remarkable. She makes perfect sence WITH her accent! LOVE HER!!

Her class is tough, but aren't all math classes? Her teaching method was not for me and might not be for you. I had to work extremely hard, (hint). The last couple of classes she started to become rude... go figure. I would not recommend her. I hope this helps someone.

Overall she's a good professor, she offers help for the assignment before and after class you can also e-mail her. She's a no nonsense professor and doesn't tolerate slackers, you work with her and she'll work with you.

This professor is AMAZING. She is a little intimidating at first. Very strong russian accent and she doesnt take BS from any of her students. I am HORRIBLE at math and have terrible math anxiety as I've taken this class three times before and have failed it all times at Miami-Dade but I finally passed with a B+!! It was not easy, you must STUDY!

Enjoyed this professor. Required course for me. She simplified the process of the work. IF U GO TO EVERY CLASS, TAKE GOOD NOTES AND DO THE HOMEWORK, you have no reason to not do well. As for EXTRA CREDIT everyone is complaining about, come on guys this is college not High School grow up! Do the homework,get 5 points at the end..stop crying.

Honost truth:4 tests and a final;all multiple choice. homework is optional but BENEFICIAL to you.i always got D's n math i am finally passing w an A!She thouroughly explained everything for 1033.If your immature dont join her class. attendence is mandatory and she is offended if you come in late or leave early. I totally recommend this professor. She is really good and she knows her math. (she does have a strong Russian accent however you'll understand) By the end of her class you will feel very comfortable about your math and lesson. I wish she was teaching MAC1105 I would so take her. AWESOME

This professor was absolutely amazing. She is always on point and makes math very easy to understand. She has a lot of shortcuts to simplify problems and I would recommend her to anyone that is SERIOUS about their learning experience. Attendance is mandatory, DO THE HOMEWORK! She does not collect it, but she may to help you out.

Sweetest teacher ever. She's strict on attendance but other than that shes great. Explains everything in detail, willing to help. Gives good reviews for tests (which are all multiple choice btw) Genuinely wants to help you understand math. Accent is thick but you get used to it.

Took her class in the summer, very helpful and easy. whats great is that she gives you 10 extra points on your test by doing the take home homework, helped lots! A little bit of a accent barrier but it almost keeps you paying attention because do to the fact your trying to figure out what she's saying. TAKE HER!

She has a heavy accent but nonetheless she is a phenomenal teacher. Homework is optional but you do get 10 extra points added to your test if you do it so I highly recommend it. She was able to teach me things no other teacher has been able to. Highly recommend her but you have to put work in studying and paying attention in class.

I've taken 2 classes with this Professor (MAT1028 & MAT1033).The first class was in Miami-Dade college and the other In Broward College.She is the best professor I've had in college. Her method of teaching is great! She explains each formula step by step and shows the proper way of solving each equation. Would recommend this professor to everyone.

great professor, very clear and very strict

I was scared at first because she was strict the first few days. Attendance is a must. She gives 10pts on the test if you do the hw and turn it in day of the test. Tests are scantron and she does have an accent. She's sweet just don't piss her off and try to pay attention during lecture. She will get you if youre talking or on your phone.

I took her for the first 6weeks of the summer term and OMG can she teach!!! :-) Aside from her accent she taught in detail and was very clear on how to solve the problems and using some short cuts. She's nice/sweet but strict on attendance and talking during the lecture. HW is optional but beneficial! Im taking her for 1033 now. Highly RECOMMEND!

Impossible to fail if you do the homework. Don't buy the book, she lets you copy her book for homework. Attendance is a must!

Slavina is awesome. She really takes interest in helping her students and making sure they succeed, and if we do our part then its a easy A. She gives lots of extra credits and she gives a review before every exam. The exams are basically the review. Take her.

Excellent Professor! I took this Professor for Mat1033 in Miami Dade College. I was ecstatic when I was about to take Mac1105 this summer to learn that she was teaching that class. I didn't get an A. But that was totally my fault. Did not put in enough practice. Easy A if you put in the work. I will recommend her to everyone.

Prof. Slavina is great! I struggle in math and he extra credit gave me the boost I needed to pass! Highly recommend for anyone who also has difficulties in math! Only four tests, each with the option of getting 10 pt. extra credit for turning in homework. Definitely take notes in class though, you'll need them!

A couple problems.. You would completely understand the material in class but once you got the reviewtook the test, it wouldn't be the same material. Also, she never went over the reviews so the tests were impossible. Very strict about phones and taking in class. I used to be very good in math and now it seems like it's impossible..

Professor Slavina has a Russian accent but it's understandable. 100% recommend attending every class because you will miss the lesson of the day then be behind. 4 tests & final. Homework is optional. If you do the homework for each chapter test you gets 10 points added towards your test grade. Take notes. Respect her and she'll respect you!

Professor Slavina definitely makes you work for your grade. She assigns HW that's due before every test and if completed correctly counts as 10 points towards your test, in other words DO YOUR HW! No ALEKS or text book required. She drops your worst test and lets you redo a test of your choice. She definitely helped me pass this course.

If I got an A in her class everybody should be able to get an A. Math is not my thing

Lyudmila is fair. That's the best I can say about her. She always offered assistance for you if you needed it if you didnt take advantage of it you were just lazy. She offered extra credit assignments for every test.

Excellent professor explains well, no textbook needed , 4 test with extra credit homework for each that gives 10 points each , Aleks required and strongly recommended to do for points lots of work but you can get 100 if you complete the work , final is very difficult . She gives a review for testfinal hint study it . I highly recommend her .

If you failed Slavina's class its because you are lazy! Slavina makes it very easy to comprehend and offers extra credit for 1033 but not 1105 she makes time for you. Very strict about being on time talking in class and use of cell phones in the class, for the benefit of the people who came to college to seek a degree not to flunk out.

Great professor. Took her for summer semester. She knows how to teach and her grading system is very helpful. Come to class, be on time and ready to learn. Gives extra credit for participating in class. I would recommend her.

She is a great professor. If you do not pass her class you were obviously lazy and looking for a professor who was laid back and does not care about your education. She is there for you and helps you in any way she can only if you care.

ONLY class I didn't get an A in! ALEKS is the worst program ever, it assigns endless amounts of hw & if you get one wrong it gives you more tasks. She doesn't let you talk, use your phone & when you ask questions she WILL help, however she replies with comments like "finally." I only did good because the material was relatively easy & I like math.

By far one the best professor for math. She wants you to understand the material, so she'll explain the topic (she'll ask for your pay attention and leave your pencils on the table), then provide the steps in solving the problems. Her notes are very clear. Her test are very easy. She'll occasionally make jokes with the class. I WARN YOU DO NOT SKIP

She is simplify the Best Professor Ever! I toke MAT-1033 n MAC1105. She makes math as simple 2+2. She will not smile for you, DON'T BE LATE, DON'T USE CELL and pay attention but u ll thanks her 4 for it. Math is hard n' requeres a lot of practice no matter the prof. For people scared of math, she is the choice. She will bring you along and show you each step of the way with clear and accessible instructions. The only homework she has is Aleks, which is not her choice. She does not give additional assignments. If you show up to her lectures, you can't fail. If you like to miss classes, she is not for you.
