GREAT teaching!!!

This is the best professor ever. Very fair. very tolerant. Knows his stuff. I search out his classes to sign up for even though I don't need them.

I took Dr. Baldwin for 3 classes while at HCC. I am now currently graduating from USF and I think that Dr. Baldwin was the best professor I have ever had. His classes are not easy but his teaching style is amazing!

Good professor

Baldwin doesn't just read the book to you, he gives insights on many perspectives in the literature being studied. His handouts on using literary technique are useful and he is a fair, warm, and charming professor. The best teacher I've worked with.

One of the best professors I've ever had. His teaching skills are interesting but very helpful. He is willing to hear your opinion about any subject even though he doesn't agree. In my opinion, he's the one you should choose for your English Professor.

Yea, you have to choose him he is very, very, easy. You take no tests at all. You only write essays and he is very clear about what he expects. You attend class, you get an 'A'. You dont 'F'. Has a very well developed sense of humor. And he is down to earth. I reocommend him.

He is an awesome teacher. The class is simple and he makes his expectations clear. He helps you understand all the assignments and he's a cool guy. If you do the work you get an A, and it's not hard work either.

Dr. B is the BEST prof. I've EVER had. He is very easy to understand and is always willing to help. If you show up for class and do the assignments, this class is an easy A.

I really enjoyed this class. DR Baldwin was clear and fair. I related to his manner of teaching. I graduated over 10 years ago and this was the first class I've taken in a while. Go to class,do the work,get an A. Done!

He's a good teacher. Not that interesting but he expects you to do the work and do the reading. As far as English/Literature teachers go, he's one of the better ones.

Honestly, he inspired me to become an education major. He made Literature fun & relavent. He's got a great sense of humor and provokes thought. If you didn't enjoy his class, it might be because you aren't used to doing your own work. The only drawback I see in his testing is that it's impossible to cheat. (genuine former student)

Let's you write what YOU want to. Not so grammer based, as talent. He only makes you feel stupid if you ask a moronic question. Don't take this class if you need some to hold your hand. Do take this class if you're a comptent writer who doesn't want a lot of restrictions.

Excellent teacher. His Powerpoint Lectures are incredible. He's very understanding and the best teacher ever. I can't believe some of these bad comments. Obviously, they're by bad students.

Dr. Baldwin is a great man who cares about his students. Over the course of the semester, I ran into a couple of personal issues. He proved to be compassionate, accommodating, and very friendly. I am happy that I chose him as my professor for ENC1101, and I look forward to taking his ENC1102 course. I highly recommend Dr. Baldwin.

I'm reading some of this stuff and can't believe it. Dr. Baldwin is awesome! I know who wrote one of the bad reviews and he's an F student. Don't believe it. Dr. Baldwin is a FANTASTIC teacher.

He help me so much. I am ESL student and Dr. Baldwin sit in his office for a hour 3 times this term just helping me. I think he is a great, kind man. He listen to my problems and help me. He is wonderful.

i hated writing til Dr. B. His way of teaching is to encourage and be positive. He builds you up and tells you what's good about your writing before cutting you down. What i mean is he grades the grammar and everything but he makes you want to learn it because he makes you feel good about what you are writing, if that makes sense. I like him.

He is so boring! He may be a good professor, but he does love listening to his voice. His online lectures include himself reading what is already on the power point. BORING! Don't take his class at 8:00 or later than 18:00 because you will fall asleep.

I think that this has been one of the most interesting classes that I have taken. Dr B has been very helpful and taught me a great deal about literature. I think that many of the negative comments on this site come from students that are lazy and wanted a professor to just pass them throught. Dr B actually wants you to learn!!

Dr. B. is an excellent teacher. I have been to several colleges and would rate him within the top 3 at any university I have attended. Any negative comments obviously come from lazy, unmotivated, and whinny children. Here's a clue: "There is no free lunch". Do the work and YOU will reward yourself with good grades.Dr. B is as good as they come!

WHINNY WIMPY BABIES!!! Any of you who dont think this man is a great teacher should go out in the real world, work a 7$ an hour job, come back to school when your ready to APPLY YOURSELVES to EARN a good grade. Mr. B is the greatest! He was always helpful throughout the class to give us a better understanding of the material. He's always there to answers questions and is very fair! I really enjoyed this class and learned a lot.

This class is great for anyone who has a busy schedule and cannot attend a regular classroom setting. I had Dr. B for Connections. He told us exactly what he wanted and wasnt overly critical about it. I ended up really enjoying a class i was not interested in at all.

Aesome professor! I had him for 1101 and 1102 ENC. If you are good at writing essays, then take him! he won't give you exams, all you need to do is write essays. Very helpful professor, very considerated and he'll always try to help you to get an A!

I LOVE MR. BALDWIN... If You Love Baseball You Will Get Along With Him Without Any Problems. Its A Very Easy Class As Long As You Do Your Work. Hes Very Flexable And Helps You With Anything You Need. But Take Your Time With The Final, Its REALLY Important And It Can Make Or Break Your Grade. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!

Mr. Baldwin is a very cool and laid back teacher. He responds to emails fast and is understanding. I would most defintly recommend anyone to take his class. Its easy theres only five classes and papers all less than 500 words. His only down fall is having your papers graded wich is understandable because he dose have many students GO MR. Baldwin!!!

Not an easy class. Be ready to read. I took this class online. Did well on the tests but the discussion boards take up a lot of time. Make sure you do the homework or you will have an automatic B!! Never made less than an A on the test but had a B for the class. Be careful!!!

Marc Baldwin is one of the greatest professors at HCC. I took him for enc1102 and for american literature and was blown away both times! Great teacher and very helpful. You will learn a lot and want to work hard because he is such a great teacher and you won't want to disappoint him!

Great teacher. Easy class if you take pride in your work and essays are easy for you to write. Doesn't reply to e-mail as fast. Took him for ENC 1101 (online course) and we only had to complete 5 essays though attendance was mandatory (we only met 5 times!) Taking him again for ENC 1102.

He is extremely easy grader. I happened to see the class roster and almost everyone got an A.. He doesn't seem to highlight punctuation errors or other grammar errors on the papers he grades.

Dr. Baldwin is the greatest instructor I have come across during my college career--I took six of his courses. He is very easy to work with and he makes perfectly clear what he expects of his students. Apply yourself, do all the assignments on time, and don't get sloppy with your work--all habits of a good student and traits Dr.Baldwin respects.

good teacher and lectures He seems to really love literature. The 4 hour tests are so intimidating, as long as you know the material and do your best, you should be fine, read the material, and participate! The discussion board can be time consuming, but if you love lit., it's worth it, and student responses help you with difficult material

I took this class online, there was a LOT of reading necessary and several papers. Very fair in grading papers submitted. There was a lot of discussion board postings required for the online class. I do recommend the class.

I was extremely disappointed when mostly older students starting bashing controversial topics & Baldwin was very open minded to let the bashing continue & when other students tried defending themselves he said it was uncalled for. Easy A! But morally this professor needs a reality check. its 2008 in case anyone over 30 has not noticed.

Dr. Baldwin is probably the best teacher that I have had at HCC. He cares about his students and is always there to answer a question. I have him for a Hybrid class (half in class, other online). You have no tests, only Discussion Board questions and 5 essays. He grades fairly, and is open minded. He is a teacher that actually has morals. TAKE HIM!

I had Dr. Balwin for ENC1101 & ENC1102. He is a wonderful professor. Many professors tend to beat you over the head with their outlook on life, but all Dr. Balwin encourages is that you own your thoughts. He is an anit-conformist and I found this to be a refreshing idea. I suggest him to anyone who does not get their feelings hurt easily.

For someone with that much knowledge I wish he challenged me more. But overall great experience.Love the hybrid idea

Wow. I can't believe these last few people. I have NEVER met a more open-minded, fairer teacher in my life. Dr. Baldwin NEVER insults anyone for anything. He may believe in God, but I never once heard him say anything but the truth. He's the kindest, most considerate teacher ever.

Dr Baldwin is a fair professor. He does expect you to keep up in his classes (but what teacher doesnt?) I took his online English Comp class and he was very helpful whenever I had questions. Dont take him if you want an easy A...it wont happen. Be prepared to do a fair amount of work and be accountable for your attendance. Great, Fair Professor.

I cant believe some people on here.Dr. B was a really good professor.He expects you to attend class and do your work.He is very clear as to what he expects and if you cant figure it out then ask!He voices his opinion and expects you to the the same, hence why its called the discussion board.This isnt high school people, do your work! Take him!!

He Has You Write 5 essays and want's you to be active on the black board. If you miss 4 weeks on responding to the black board you get an automatic F. O, if you have 5 errors on any of your essays. He stops reading and just gives you an F. Dude Is Tough As Nails.

He sounds much worse than he is. I was worried about him class, however it wasn't that bad and I got an easy A. Don't be intimidated. This is college, not high school.

Online course...NOT easy. Never actually met the instructor but left an impression of extreme arrogance. Don't bother with this class if you don't have a SOLID understanding of college essay writing. Harsh grader. Class size started with over 16 students, mid term about 6. I passed this course,with a great deal of tutoring. Good luck!

Dr. Baldwin is a wonderful teacher. View the lectures, follow the syllabus and join in on the discussion boards. Not a class for lazy people who post one time at the end of the week-you're wasting your time and ours. Exams are easy, your given plenty of time to complete them. Overall, great teacher! There is a lot of reading, it's literature!

Very nice professor, just read what you are assigned, but make sure you do read it all, it's a lot but its worth it for the exams. Took his online class and got an "A", just read all the material and write your best on the 3 essay questions on the exams and participate in the discussions and you will do great. Recommend to everyone! easy class.

He is very specific with what he wants and expects. Read his directions and follow them. You will not have a problem if you do those things. Watch his lectures and read the text he recommends. Go to the writing resource center and get your papers reviewed. I have really enjoyed his class and the way he teaches.
