The best professor I have had while at John Jay. She explains everything very clearly and gives excellent notes. She gives lots of quizzes but the lowest grade is dropped. Defintely take this professor for history.

Her exams are really easy. Take her if you have the opportunity.

She is a good professor. She may talk all period but she's very easy. Her exams are all multiple choice and her essays are so easy. You don't even need to read the book because she gives you a booklet of her notes and whats going to be on the exams.

she gives u the notes based on which she lectures the class. specific as to what she expects from you. quizzes may be tricky, but if u read the notes and some reading from the book, u'll do good. one term paper. if u do good on the quizzes, midterm and paper ur exempt from the final. i recommend

Sweet lady and funny to. If you get less than a B in her class then you need to seek help. The class is ridiculously easy. I recommend her to anyone acre .

she is a good prof.she knows her material and her syllabus is properly laid out,she even knows when her final exam is going to be from the begining of the semester.Try asking some prof that.she is helpful.she is clear in her lectures.she is manageable. a lot of quizzes.thumbs up for her.

She is an AWESOME professor. Extremely easy if you pay attention in class; ALL her quizzes come from her lectures (very easy). Always gives you the dates in advance for exams and is funny. She gives alot of tid-bit information and makes history fun. Take her!!!

This class could not be easier, but its easy because it has a good teacher. I hate History but this teacher makes it interesting and doesn't try to test you on things that are obscure. She knows her stuff which makes class quick, we got out of class early all the time. 1 paper for the course which is easy.

She is such an easy professor, if you fail her class you have got to be a total idiot. The syllibus is what you have to know for the entire semester, it has very useful info. the textbook is easy, her exams are extremely easy, she's the best teacher I wish I had her for 231. Take her, you won't regret it.

Professor Bostwick make history interesting as opposed to painfully boring. I have learned a great deal in her class. I have signed up to take her for the second half of my history sequence

This is very easy teacher and course. if you fail than u should drop out of school. The best part about this teacher is that you dont have to put any effort in to it. just show up and pass

her test are multiple choice n are pretty hard to fail...trust me i slept in class n got nuttin but 90's on them

Her notes are very thorough and her quizzes are easy. Honestly, as long as you pay attention in class, you can get an easy A and you never even need to buy the text book.

She is great for an easy A. Her exams and quizzes are the same every semester so if you know somebody take advantage!If you don't know anyone just go and listen and you'll pass.

She is a history buff which is interesting because not everything she talks about is from the book, you learn lots of things that you wouldn't really know about otherwise. She tells you what will be on the tests and is generally very easy. If take (or get) the notes you can't fail her. One short paper on pretty much anything history related.

she is very clear in her material and she will explain something over and over until you get it.

i took her during the summer. all she gave was like 4 quizes no papers. but in order for you to do well you either have to take notes or read the chapters or both. i got an A by doing both. shes very clear

eeeaaassssyyy. class is based on a few quizzes which she gives review sheets for (just study that and you'll be fine). questions from quizzes appear on the midterm, so review ur back quizzes before the test. the paper isn't hard because it just has to be on anything history related. very broad spectrum to choose from. she's cool.

unclear handwriting but explains well. big history buff and it's great to see her excited about what she's teaching. 5 page paper on anything history related. 5 quizzes (she drops the lowest grade), and midterm and final. don't need to buy the book if you take good notes. don't leave the class halfway too, 'cause that makes her mad.

This teacher is a very fair grader, she is a very smart teacher and knows her stuff very well. Easy A and you learn !

this has got to be the easiest history class ive taken in my life, a few short quizzes that are easy, and if you have above a 90 average by the time of the final then you get exempt...its worth studying for a few quizzes so you can take one less final

This class is very easy...All her quizzes are used to make up both the mid-term and the final...She gives you a review sheet for the mid-term and final. If you know everything that is on it then you will ace both exams. Easy A...

You would be wrong to take someone else for history. This woman can't write but she explains everything real good. Her syllabus is all you need to read to pass her class....really!

she is tooo easy. she doesnt pay attention what happens in class. she doesnt know who comes in and who leaves the class. on the midterm some students cheated and she didnt even see that! she needs to work on her handwriting. her exams r easy too. she gives a review sheet.

Her fast and expansive method of teaching doesn't allow for much comprehension. She teaches a barrage of topics all AT ONCE (then again, it IS a massive time period that has to be covered). However, she's very friendly as well as an easy grader. You may not learn much, but she won't decapitate your GPA. Her review sheets ARE her exams verbatim.

ONe of the best professors at john jay. Her first exam is hard but the rest are all easy. Just go to class participate, do the term paper and pass the exams and your smooth sailing. I got a B+ and I did not even have the text book she had issued. If your looking for an easy grade espicially for none history buffs, take Bostwick.

You better read for this class on your own, she reads from book. Quizes like 6,3 test multiple choice(definitions mostly)one essay in each. Paper she gives you the article, so dont try to make up stuff, bcuz she knows what is in each article she hands out. Just do what you have to do and get out! Not the most fun teacher! She is boring!!

She's a good teacher. Takes her quizzes from the outlines on the class's webpage. . . quiz every couple of weeks, one paper. . . moved through the chapters pretty fast but she goes into detail in class.

the key to this class is doin good on everything..she takes your email the first day..if u have an a average u will get an email sayin u dont have to take the final..history is borin in general but she tries to make it detailed....she knows her stuff..the only thing is hate is that her notes are all over the place, but she gives tons of extra credi

everyone told me she was going to be so easy and you really didnt have to do anything in her class... but she changed. You need to do 10 current events, lots of reading, and there's a quiz like everyweek.. its not too challenging and she still makes it easy though. even her tests arent too bad. One paper and thats all. Definitely recommended.

I loved her~!! she is the best professor ever~! She gives you 10quizes and 1essay and 3 exams.. but there are not that hard if you do what you have to do. If you get average A throughout the class then you dont have to take final nice teacher

This professor is GREAT!Such an easy class.She is very approachable, and is very helpful if you need clarification on what is required on the papers. She gives a review sheet for both the midterm and the final. Everything on the review is exactly whats going to be on both exams,NO SURPRISES.If you get an A average you dont need to take the final :)

Professor Bostwick is awesome! At first, she seems to overwhelm you with work. But after a couple of lectures, everything gets done. She basically uses the textbook and her blackboard notes to teach. In addition, she is quick in returning all material. Overall take her! You will learn the important stuff about early world history!

She is a great prof. who's compassionate about her work. Very knowledgeable. Quiz & Test - you receive a review sheet weeks in advance, so there should be no excuses. 1 paper, 2 short essays - she's an easy grader. She will give extra work if she thinks no one is reading the text.

I actually ended up loving this class. She teaches monotone, but she actually has a method...The way she teaches is like a story. Just study her test outlines and make your self clear during essays and you will be fine. She is great and I learned alot.

I took her class cause of the positive reviews. After the first class i thought that I came to the wrong place. She seemed mean and very angry. Eventually though she came out to be a very nice lady with no surprises or hard assignments. Not a fun class but not a hard one either. She is a good professor.

When I first got into the classroom I didn't understand why she had gottten such positive reviews on here. She seemed so overwhelming and boring. But I'm so glad I stayed in her class. The tests, quizzes, and short papers are all really easy. I hate history and actually got an A- in her class. Just remember to read and/or follow your notes

Professor Bostwick is a very nice person even though at the beginning of the class you will think she is bad or..,but later on, u will realize that is one of the best professor at J-Jay.All you have to do is couples easy quizzes, 2 easy short paper, a multiples choice and short essay midterm and final.

She is one of the best in JJ. Her lectures are very interesting and helpful. There are 5 quizzes, three papers, midterm, and final. If you do good during the semester and on time, you will be given an option of not taking the final. Highly recommend, I would take her class again.

Take this class. As long as you put in some effort, it's a fairly easy A. She hates when people don't participate and will sometimes give reading quizzes but even if you do poorly on those it won't effect making an A in her class as long as you do well on everything else. She isn't fun, but you will make an A.

I took this professor for both 203 & 204. Awesome and easy. MC quizzes x5, 2 short papers, 1 major, and midterm & final. Read the book, so easy to pass. Notes are put up on Black Board. I am a C history student, with her I got A's. READ THE CHAPTERS and she won't have anything to complain about. She likes debating which makes the course fun

shes a fair grader and easy i guess i didnt put enpugh effort or else i would of ended with an A. i wish i could retake this class. books are required. she lets u retake a chapter quiz if you missed one but not the exams. over all i got a C+. u need to work hard for ur grade even though shes easy, especially on your paper cause its 25% of ur grade.

Great professor. She takes attendance every day. Book is required, will be using it! Fair grader. 3 papers (2-3pg), very easy! Read txt for quizzes. She gives hint out on class on what will be on Midterm & Final. Gives review sheet for both which makes studying easier. Everything on the review is what is exactly on the test.

She is super easy, just read the book, 2 short papers (2-3 pages)12.5% each 1 Big paper worth 25%.Essays are worth 50%. Her exams are easy but she does not like to Give As,if your average comes to a 92 she will not give you a A and wont get exempt you from the final. If your average comes to a 93 you will not take the final. She will drive you nut

She is A LOT of work, but it is all do-able and actually pretty easy. One short paper, and a final paper; midterm and final, about 4 quizzes, 10 current events and 5 document work assignment. Yes, a lot of work but like i said do-able. Got an A-

She tends to go on tangents a lot but is a very passionate professor, and kept me very interested in her class. She can be a little harsh sometimes but I think it's mostly just because the class doesn't do their work. IF YOU DO YOUR WORK FOR THIS CLASS YOU WILL NOT FAIL.

great prof. has a lot of knowledge, can be over whelming, if u do the reading, class will fly, barely writes notes,3 document essays that accumulate to midterm grade, counts 4/5 quizes, gives a few extra credit points, 2 big papers,final, highest grade she gives on papers is a 93, if u get a high grades before midterm u don't have to take the final

LOVE HER! She made history so easy for me, I used to hate it. If you follow instructions and do the work there is no way for you to fail. If you get anything lower than a B+... shame on you because she cannot make this class any easier.

Not only is she extremely clear, but she is also helpful. Gives review sheets that are exactly what she gives on the final. Clear on material, tough on grading but only bc she gets sophomores who do not take the class seriously. She is great I highly recommend

Great professor, extremely nice. Attendance counts but I had a 3-hour class I came in like 1hr-1hr30min late all the time just sign in. Test are exactly what's on the review sheet and if you properly pay attention to lectures you won't even need to review. Only Con - She has this sorta boring melancholy vibe, and lectures tend to get boring.

Amazing professor who truly loves history. Get ready to read and write. Also, goes over current events when class starts. 2 long papers and the midterm/final aren't easy but definitely passable. You have to screw yourself with her. I'd take her again.

Professor Bostwick is one of the smartest people I've ever met. It's like her brain is the Encyclopedia Britannica. Her class required a lot of short readings, easy quizzes, and small papers. But they were not tedious or without reason. I learned an incredible amount this semester. An "A" is achievable, but you must do the work. Caring and Kind 3

While the material and demands may seem overwhelming, it's definitely doable. Don't let all the negative reviews steer you away from taking Professor Bostwick's class. She knows what she's teaching and it becomes interesting once you listen. There's a couple of quizzes throughout the semester and only 3 papers including the final paper (not exam).
