he is a very good teacher, and an awesome person makes learning easy he is always willing to help. Do your homework and make sure you go to class because he always teches the shortcuts and tricks to making math easy.

Fabulous teacher. Always willing to help and explain things in differant ways until everyone understands. Sometimes moves quickly, but raise a hand and he'll slow down. Do your homework and you can't fail ;)

He collects homework every week, gives you math tests on scantrons, gives out study guides for tests, tells funny stories, makes math fun. I got my first A in math ever in his class. Also works in club M.E.S.A. if you need futher help. Awesome teacher!

Intelligent teacher, though his honesty made others uncomfortable at times. His test can be hard as h*ll; got a 'C', he did offer tutoring and talked about Calc at times to give students a preview. Had bitter students towards the end; understandable ;-)

Best math teacher ever, hands down. I thought I would never graduate because of math, and then I stumbled upon his class. If you are math phobic take this guy. Go to every class and pay attention!

The class is going great. Mr. Camarena answers every question to the best of his ability, even when my fellow class mate is obviously asking a question that tells the rest of the class they haven't been studying the material. He tries to be patient even when the student is obviously clueless.

Plenty of examples. Great explanation. Prepares us with tests before the one that counts. I am learning more than I ever wanted about fractions and percents and math in general. Great professor and a great person to talk to.

I took him in SWC I thought he was cool. I think he only draws attention to you when you ask questions just so you'll remember, but other than that he's pretty cool. Easy to talk to during office hours though, and likes to talk about the good ol' days in UCSB.

A godsend to the mathmatically challenged! he is a hardworking professor who feels a strong obligation to help his his students get it. He is in a short a gentleman and a scholar!

He knows stuff - he will work with you to a point, then he can't understand why you don't get it. If you can past his right-wing politics and focus on the math, he's awesome.

Easy "a" if you show everyday to class....speaking of that Mr. C teaches 4 days of mathSweet, now you can get addtional help if your really having trouble in math....dont take two days of tuesdays/thursday math for instance because you'll fall behind and struggle....hah

i passed his class with an A and he was very approachable. take his class if you're already good in math.

he's a good teacher because he makes you figure out how to solve the problems. i dont think he expects too much from us because it's a college level class. most of my classmates who failed never showed up and copied other people's homework. well, many of them were pretty dumb to start with. your hard work will b e rewared with an A.

Hes a great person, he knows a lot!, hes smart, approachable, funny, but... he do expect a lot from us, and he wants us do it his way because he thinks everything is easier his way. He wants you be on track, but he wont go back so... Once he explain it a couple of time, he skips steps, talk fast, and just goes faster.Got my first ¨C¨ in COLLEGE!

He is the best Math teach that was at City college . You don't get bored in his class because he tells you jokes most of the time. He gets his work done

I really loved this class. I took his class during the summer and even though im not good in math and even though it was fast paced, this guy broke it down for you and showed you the EASY way to do math. I got an A in this class.

i'm dumb as dirt when it comes to numbers. But professor "C" made it simple and easy to learn math his way. He does digress with lil platitudes;however,it made it a more casual learning experience. The people that fail his class missed many days or lazy. ^^I aint mexican, neither was most the class,he was more than fare with all students. He cares.

He's very patient with his students. He would come to the class early if you need extra help to understand the material. He knows what he's teaching. He teaches the way the students can easily understand.I highly recommend him to all students need to take math.

I thought this teacher was the best teacher i have ever had when it comes to math..He's method of teaching is great. if you fail this class...you must be snoozing or not coming to class. I took him and I got a B ...a B I usually fail math but with his help i learned alot and to me math is not a hard subject anymore because of his help.

i took this professor online and it was a great experience. he tried so hard to help me out and if you log on everyday, you will get a A. he's a cool guy..

I took this class online. I thought he was very strict at first, and dropped a few people for not logging on. In the end, he let us make up any quiz we wanted. I found him to be helpful when I needed it. Good overall. Would take a class from him again.

Great Professor. Had us do a project, and helped us every step of the way. We did ours on the Egyptian Dynasty. At first I was scared of using computers and powerpoint, but he trained the class to do it step by step, and we learned how math has changed the world. He had us present a poster in public, but he provided lunch. Thanks Mr. C:-)

THIS WASN'T THE EASIEST LEVEL OF CALC BUT IF YOU FINALLY WANT A PROF. THAT RELATES EACH SECTION YOU LEARN TO THE REAL WORLD...TAKE HIM. IT FEELS GOOD TO KNOW WHERE SOME OF IT WILL BE APPLIED AND WHEN IT ISN'T IMPORTANT TO YOUR FIELD OF STUDY. HE WILL ANSWER QUESTIONS AND HIS OFFICE IS ALWAYS OPEN. YOU WILL HAVE TO WORK HARD & STUDY, BUT ITS MATH ;D

Prof. Camarena can be a bit disorganized with his lectures, but he knows his stuff and really helps you if you ask. His tests are curved, so if you don't pass it means you're very lazy. If you work all the assigned problems you should have no problem doing well. As long as you read the text, I recommend him.

Great teacher!! I took his online class and he was incredibly responsive and helpful. He is the kind of teacher who will help you to succeed if he sees you are trying. I was given extra attempts on quizes and tests when I wasn't able to grasp the material the first time around. I highly recommend this teacher!!

Worked my stars off because it was an intersession class. Gave me opportunity to work out the many mistakes I was making. Great motivator...always sent me funny faces and encouragement :-) GO MR C !!!

He's very helpful, and can relate to students very well. His dad is there for support all the time. I recommend this teacher.

He's a great instructor who includes practical use for the math in his lectures. He goes over the material clearly and even points out "this is important". Awesome experience!

You will succeed in this class if you put forth the amount of effort he tells you to put in. Make sure you have a basis of the information before attending his class. Make sure to do many practice problems. The only thing that counts in his class is the final exam, so don't worry about the other things he grades.

I love this teacher hes always late but cool and in my oppinion his class was super easy :)

he was ALWAYS late, but you get used to it. it came to advantage for a lot of the students. He's straight out, but extremely nice. The class was easy, i got an A as the final grade. it all depends if you (the student) will do the work. Text book, used it once in a while most often than usual. though, you ALWAYS had to have your book.

The course went fast, only because he told us that he could give us credit for pre-algebra also...awesome. Had us buy a workbook which we used everyday in class and at home to do our homework. Was late sometimes, but that's because he hurt his back and was a little crippled during the semester. I worked diligently, asked ???, and did great!

So far the best professor I've had in math, I feel like I actually learned and he teaches math so that you can understand, he teaches the simple way of doing the problems. he's a little strict but in the end he just wants everyone to do well. Overall great professor would recommend to anyone.

He is a very cool teacher and he really does try helping you in what he can. He sometimes goes off topic but that's cool because you get a little break from math every so and so minutes. You can go up to him after class and ask questions he'll help you.I see him as a man who knows math very well and is there to teach you the easy way out.

Class is only five weeks in but so far he has done a wonderful job of keeping us on track. Passed first exam with a high B+ and just took another. Feeling great and I have high hopes for the FINAL!!!

Great teacher! Taught math in a whole new perspective. Can go off subject at times. and usually doesnt take attendance! tutoring is "mandatory" but he doesn't keep track. Overall great class, im taking him next semester as well! :)

Tests are hard because algebra is difficult for me. I take notes, attend tutoring, write my SAMs, and memorize everything religiously like he advised. He really wants us to understand math, but sometimes I feel like I don't know enough. That is why I spend more than 12 hours a week working my behind off. Laziness doesn't work for this class.

Mr C is the bomb I love him He ties everything to math which is crazy how it is so important to our lives

He is one of the best teachers I've had:) He teaches very different and has different teaching methods than other professors. He doesn't teach from the book which is what I like. I highly recommend you to take him! He is a great guy that will give you great advice!

Mr. Camarena is an awesome teacher. Even if people say he's mean, i think he does is for a reason. He's mean when students don't try their best, come late to class or the people that only come to fool around. In my opinion Mr. C teaches in a great unique way. His intensions are to pass you not to fail you. I had a great experience in his class!

Took him in the summer he really wants all of his students to pass his class and will encourage you. He does tell stories not relevant to class that rant always so interesting. Tuff attitude but great guy not the easiest professor.

Professor C. is strict,funny and has ones best interest at hand. His philosophy is "Everyone can do Math, one must just try". Take him if you can handle the heat! = )

Worked out of a workbook everyday. Practiced extensive useful everyday mathematics on almost each page. Quizzes looked exactly like the homework and so did the tests we took occasionally. The final was a department final that he told me I got a 58, missed a free dinner by 2 questions. He is an awesome teacher.

Mr. C is a really great person and he's very intelligent. He wants to challenge his students so they can apply their math skills in ways they're not used to. He can go off topic a lot though, and often brings up wacky conspiracy theories that he found on the internet... but he's probably one of the best math professors at City College.

Frankly, I struggled in math during the elementary and high school, I really hated math and algebra because I couldn't understand well. But in his class, something like a miracle happend to me, I do not struggle in math any more, now I don't hate it and it's amazing that I decide to make my major , may be MATH! Because he really made it easy to me*

Mr. C is a very very intelligent guy, and a really cool dude. He teaches math well, but he has no patience for people that aren't willing to put the work in to succeeding in his class. He also talks a lot about crazy conspiracy stories. Overall a great teacher

He always tells you your grade, all you have to do is ask. His grading system is awesomely easy to follow and he expects you to attend tutoring, but we have a tutor in class that we meet up with outside. His tests are difficult, but only because I struggle with math and was learning how to handle college and my job and family life. Loving the math!

If you are a COUCH POTATOE, this class wouldn't be yours. If you are GO-GETTER, go get it!

Mr Camarena is a Math professor. If you really like to learn math , attend this class. Participation and doing homework is a must, because each session is equal to learn many new smart points as algebraic solutions. Before attending class please take a look at the different between equations and expressions! You don't regret of taking this class

By far he is one of the best Math professors I ever had. My math is not good at all. But in Camarena's class I found it very easily, because he relates all math problems to a reality of life for you to understand better. The other advantage is that he never cares about the way you choose to solve the problems. Just the final answer is important.

Respected, organized, on time, super patient, tests are pretty fair. Attendance, attention, HW are necessary to survive at least with a C. I strongly recommend this class to elevate your math skills and the GPA

Professor Camarena aka PROFE.C truly cares if you pass or not. He tries his best to get each student motivated, but some students just want to text and complain they don't understand. They should just drop the class and let me learn because they just get in our way. So please stay away if you are not here to learn and prosper.

I passed his class with an A and I'm the worst at math BUT YOU HAVE TO WORK FOR IT ! Yes, he gets off topic often but I liked that a lot. It was like a break. The topics he talks about are interesting. Very opinionated but a really smart, realistic, funny and good person. Trust me, he really cares about the students. Explained everything clearly.

Very intelligent and good prof. He really cares about his students. You will learn a lot in his class, not only about math, but also about life. Yes, he gets off the topic, but you will learn a lot if you are smart. This class is super easy to handle. Of course an easy A class. Attendant is not a must, but show up and pass with A.

Before taking his class math was a nightmare for me, an impossible subject to understand. yes! I had math phobia!! Now because of Camarena MATH IS FUN for me .His class was a therapy for me.I wish I would take other math courses with him but my schedule doesn't work. Show up, be a good listener and note taker , you will easily get an A. MATH IS FUN

Just talk in Spanish once in awhile, Oh and don't fall asleep and you'll get an A.

He might seem rude sometimes, but he is nicer than what he seems. He can teach fast so beware. 3 test and a final, quizzes, and a portfolio with the hw. He was good at explaining the material, most people would understand. He is a good professor even if he talks about more stuff. I would take again. Attend tutoring as much as possible, it will pay.

Don't take him if you are not serious in math or being a hard worker in college!! You will fail for sure! I spent at least 80 hours a week doing homework because I was dumb to not get the solutions manual. It's needed and the SI is COMPLETELY needed! Aside from that, I actually enjoyed him. Very smart man, does care, gets off subject. Choose wisely
