She is really helpful if you have a problem she will stay with you after class to answer your questions or you can go to her office and she will help you. Most teachers don't do that. Overall the class is hard but she helps you get throught it.

Dr. Gagrat has been the only Math teacher who was able to help me understand mathematical concepts that I had always struggled with. She will do everything she can to help you understand the material..She sincerely cares about each and every student...By far the best teacher I have ever had..She knows her stuff...has a Ph.D! Eventhough she does have this nun accent, she is a very good teacher. test are not that hard. if you take this teacher try to take her for all three 123 classes. because if you jump in at 123 c you will have aq hard time because of her method of teaching.

Great teacher! You will get an A if you just attend the classes and do the homework. assignments. Tests are easy [including final], the homework questions are harder than the ones on her test. She is a stickler for making you show ALL the steps in solving the problem, no exceptions. Overall, I found her to be a really good and helpful teacher.

i tried to take calculus from another teacher and ended up dropping w/ a W. Gagrat makes calculus make sense, she is a great teacher and willing to help you after hours. If you keep up w/ the HW and review it B4 the test you will be fine. Grading curve for and A is 86% and up!!! Extra rate points 4 her!!!

Ms. Garat is by far the best math teacher at Harbor College. Her lectures are very clear and if that's not all, her tests are very easy! I just wish I hadn't waisted my time with all the other teachers at Harbor College and came straight to her.

Very good math teacher! All items on each tests are explained to the class. Questions on the tests are actually the easiest examples that she did in class. She has no intentions in giving tricks to her students and get wrong answers (unlike most other teachers). If math is hard for you, take her. If math is easy for you, still take her!

I hate math but with this teacher she did not make it feel like I was in the twilight zone. She is funny, sarcastic, and helpful all rolled into one. I got a B in the class because I started slacking off. I could have easily gotten an A. Her lectures are straight forward and test are what is expected, no tricks. Her test focuses on basic concepts.

Homeworks are so much harder and if you choose to do them, you'd probably get A++ in the course. I felt really lucky to do my calculus classes with her. We finished with 17 people in a Calculus III class, need I say more?

The greatest teacher ever! I took this class after being out of school for 15 years, placed into this class and passed with an almost perfect A! She always made sure she explained the topics perfectly. If you show up and pay attention, you will pass with flying colors. I recommend her to all. Truly a blessing! Professor Gagrat MAKES SURE U UNDERSTAND THE LESSON. She knows if youre faking comprehension of the assignment. Her grading scale is extremely lenient, too lenient if u ask me. 5 tests, quizzes here & there, a final, but no graded homework. This is the best math teacher I've ever had. She has an old school charm to her, but it works - she WILL teach you the material. SHE will, your book is secondary except for homework. I had a much greater understanding of Algebra after taking her, which was my only saving grace when I took Hamzas calc class. If you have the option choose Gagrat.

why didn't I hear about this professor until now? I had taken Mr. Wong (night class) who was completely useless! Dr. Gagarat was extremely helpful. She is thorough and really cares about her students. She is fair and people who honestly do not do well in her class does not even deserve to be in that class.

Professor G. is an excellent math teacher. her soft voice, not her accent makes it difficult to understand her at times. I suggest sitting in the front row for the "hearing impaired". She doesnt rush through the lectures and if you're having difficulty understanding a formula or a problem, she's very detailed in explaining it to you 1 on 1.

shes a good teacher and you can learn a lot. unfortunately i took her durin the summer and 4 weeks was not enough for college algebra. she even said it was too short. i havent taken math in about 5 yrs so she reviews at the beginning.very helpful. i think i coulda got a better grade if i had her durin a regular semester. i recommend her.

She was very helpful and explained everything very well. She's pretty funny which is nice if you don't like math. Don't take it in a short session if you have trouble with algebra. Tests are kinda hard.

I'm currently still in this class for spring semester. I haven't taken a math class in 3 years. But she made me enjoy math, she thoroughly explains everything and doesn't turn you away if you need help. She assigns homework but she doesn't collect it until the test date. I like taking ms. gagrat because she truely explains everything. You need the book because she assigns homework and collects it when test day comes. She will help every student in any way she can. A great teacher who truly cares about her students. The class is easy if you do your homework and study for test, and she is always available to help. Grades are easier too (75=B, 86=A). Class was fast paced. Do the homework and you'll do well on the exams, don't fall behind it could get hard to catch up. Don't hesitate to ask questions when you do not understand the concepts. She teaches a lot of shortcut methods not shown in the book, which is really good if you don't like to read a lot.

I had her last semester and her teaching definitely made it easier for me to understand math. I used to despise math and now I love it. Perhaps the most student oriented professor I have taken from any subject. Cares about the class as a whole. Frequently falls behind because of students not keeping up with her. Keeps track of how many A,B,C,D,F's and adjusts her teaching to accommodate the majority. It is not uncommon to get more than 75% A on tests

Just keep doing the hw. She has a slower pace than other calculus professors because she really wants students to learn. The class isn't hard as long as you keep practicing. The tests have the most basic and simplified questions. Be careful with algebra. She makes mistakes but it is really hard to teach and do differential equations at the same time. She has to teach the class in front of her and also work out the problem behind her the board. Overall, great prof. Should take at any math level.

She makes Differential Equations seem so easy even though it really isn't. She explains it cleary and sticks to the point so you dont get lost. Her tests are really easy if you do the HW. Take this class to better understand Physics.

She's very considerate to her students and she really makes it a priority that her students learn all of the important stuff. Do NOT sleep in her class or you'll miss a LOT. She is a really good teacher. I've never been good at math, but I learned a lot and did well in this class. The best part is that her tests are very simple. She doesn't give problems that require excess math, just the basic steps taught for each chapter. It sucks having to go Monday through Thursday, but well worth it.

I was pretty intimidated by diff eq before taking this class. But gagrat made learning the material very easy. Not because its an easy subject, but because she knows how to teach the subject. I can imagine that her methods are effective for any other math class. Take her!

The final is not completely final, only the last chapter. She makes the exam easier than her questions in the class. Just do all the questions she give to you, you will be fine.

If you struggle with math, Dr. Gagrat is the teacher for you. She is sassy and awesome but most likely one of the best teachers I have ever studied under. The class made learning calculus easy. The concepts were well explained and there is no trickery used by the her. She is straightforward and tells you how to pass the class. Follow Instruction and attend and you will have to try to fail.

Professor Gagrat is a marvelous teacher! Clear instructions on how to do the math, explanations on whys and applications. Assigns homework that is difficult enough to make tests seem easy. Do it all! This is not an easy class, but Professor Gagrat makes the class fun. Really easy to understand her and she will go over problems to help and explain concepts to you. Homework isn't graded but will make your life easier for tests and quizzes.

If you are scared of Calculus, start with this professor. She completely tore down all walls and help you digest the material in the right portions. You'll be surprised when you come out with an A in the class.

Dr. Gagrat is excellent. Lectures, handouts & homework are paramount. I had a 6 year absence since Calc. 1 & her presentation of the material brought me up to speed very well. Testing & quizzes are fair & give you sight into how well you're learning. I really liked going through the integration cases chapter before the spatial geometry chapter.

Dr. Gagrat's classes follow a clearly defined lesson plan and grading criteria that is easy to follow along with. She is articulate in her presentation of new material, and does her best to keep students brushed up on material from lower classes. She made Diff Eq a breeze, and frequently went the extra mile to hold workshops on seriesintegration.

Professor Gagrat teaches wonderfully in all areas of mathematics. The way she teaches is very understandable and if you don't understand something, she is very approachable so you feel comfortable in asking questions. I highly recommend students to take her.

I took Gagrat for Trig&precalc thru calc3&she is an excellent math prof. ANYTHING she writes on the board will prepare u for every test guaranteed! Handouts are 100% useful! Pop quizzes keep you on your toes&lets u know what u need to work on. She doesnt assign homework, but do it for practice! She makes learning easy! Dont rely on the 1 drop test.

Have taken her for Math 123 C , Trig, and Calc 1. Do as much homework as possible. Prepare for the hardest problems and you will find her test is a breeze. Show up to class or you won't pass. If you have trouble ask her for help. She will help you as long as your a re trying.

This semester was the first time I had her as my professor, I'm beginning to wish I had her for my other math classes. She has a good number of tests and doing the homework problems from the book or the handouts helps so much! This was a great class and, to be honest, the material is not that difficult, it is just a difficult subject to explain. While we were able to keep up with her throughout the class it got a bit confusing once we got to Laplace transforms. If you do the homework, her lectures become clear and it's easy, if not, you're gonna have a hard time

Had her for math 266, 267, 270, 275. You must know all formulas and be very good at trig as she doesn't allow formula sheets. Classes are out of exams and quizzes only. Dr. Gagrat has been teaching at Harbor since 1979, and is beloved by all her students. She is unfailingly witty, charming, and clear. She grades forgivingly 86% gets you an A! Expect four exams with some extra credit, a few quizzes, and a cumulative final, all of which use easy to moderate questions from the homework, which is not required.

She expects you to know what she is doing without explaining the concept much. She is really fast.

I'm just coming out of finishing the Calculus series and Differentials this past spring and every class including Math270, I was fortunate to take with her. Her tests are pretty easy, but you do have to study. When I ask her questions to explain concepts, she will interrupt me and answer the question but not really understand my question first, which is frustrating. She does have a tendency to make me feel stupid when I ask a question which refrains me from asking her questions. Other than that, great.

A great professor to take, she will go over difficult problems on the homework and tell you about common mistakes. Be attentive to class since she tends to give a quiz a day or two after the lecture. Quizzes and exams are not hard, if you go to the class and understand the lectures and the different types of problems that could be developed.

Best professor I've taken so far, she's very lenient with her grading scale, but that doesn't mean we should take advantage of that. She really helped me understand Calculus a lot easier after I almost didn't pass it the first time , so she's definitely good to take for anyone trying to enter the Calculus series

I have taken Math 265,266,267,270, and 275 all with Professor Gagrat. She makes math very easy to understand and grasp. If you are any STEM major that needs to take most of the math at LAHC, I would recommend taking Calc 1 with her in the summer and finish all the math with her in 1 year. Trust me, you want to take all the math classes with her!!!

Hw is optional but you won't do well on tests w/o it. Guaranteed you'll laugh. Pay attention during lectures b/c they get intense. The test are not too difficult. You can get a C w/o trying too hard. EC points offered on some tests. Picky grader but she gives you a fair warning about what not to do. You can drop your lowest test score.

Amazing professor. Really cares about the students and wants them to understand. She has quizzes relatively often, but they're really easy. She gives progress reports throughout the semester to show you exactly how you're doing. A little disorganized on lectures, but great overall.

Dr.G is an amazing teacher. The exams are fairly simple when compared to other profs, but she expects more. An "A" is 85%, and it extremely difficult to fail the class if a student tries his or her best. I decided to follow Dr.G through the whole cal series, and I refuse to take anyone else. She that good. I've taken her classes since Math 240 - 275. They're usually the same thing is respect to how she grades and teaches. Shes really easy to understand and shes very lenient on her grading system. I literally didn't do any of her homework for each class and just payed attention to lectures. She literally carrying the math dep. on her back.
