Great teacher, you dont do well on your first paper but ace your last paper, your final grade is an A, took every class he teaches. Lectures are very interesting, doesnt give tests only two to three page papers. Papers are basically everything he said in class.
His lectures are always very interesting. They aren't just filled with dates and facts. A LOT of reading though, but know expensive text book required, only a few novels!
Great lectures; it's easy to tell that history is one of his passions. Grades were based our classes 5 fictional essays (no final) with a hint of participation. A's and B's were the most common grade on the essays if 4 of the 5 catagories were covered adequetly. His notes on the board, however, are a bit disorganized.
Great teacher!
pretty good teacher repeats alot , kinda mummbly, just wants to talk with addressing opposing view ponts, great thing about him: no test just papers and he basically tells you what to write in the papers. dont really need to read the whole book if you listen to him, ca get an A on a book you only read three chapters of.
Professor Kasprowicz comprises what every good student wants from a teacher; he raises the bar for learning, but is clear in his expectations. He manages to raise the interest level in what could be a boring subject. If you want to learn, but need clarification on themes in history, this is your Professor. Oh, he's really cute too!
great professor. Contrary to one other comment, Dr. K does not "put you down", instead he asks to elaborate on your thoughts, and in the process helps you understand the material better.
I had Dr K for a couple classes and enjoyed both. He is a very knowledgeable professor which is more than I can say for a lot of morton teachers. His class actually challenges you to think in terms of the material being covered. The papers he assigns are based on all his lectures. Highly recommend taking him. You won't regret it.
Really enjoyed both of his courses. I took Geography of the Eastern World and History 104 with him and I had a great time. He is so full of knowledge and if you study will do well. -and he's cute too!!!
Great teacher, this guy knows his stuff. He makes the subject material quite easy to understand, he likes a lot of participation from students and seems to get excited when students know the subject. There was 5 non-fiction novels to read, but only portions, not the entire books. We never once opened the assigned text book, so don't buy it.
Awesome class read a good amount of books. All papers no tests. The professor tells you exactly what he wants in the papers just show up to class. Easy "A"
Great teacher! Does get off topic here and there but overall good!! Doesn't give tests/quizes at all, just short papers.
Great teacher.
If you're looking for a history class that will challenge you, but not overwhelm you - this is that class. Dr. K's, hands down, one of the best professors I've had at MC and I'd gladly recommend him to anyone.
Is clear and enthusiastic about what he is teaching.
Extremely knowledgeable teacher. The only con is his lectures can be a bit much to take in in such a little period of time, but he answers questions clearly and concisely if asked. The class, overall, is easy as long as you take notes, study, and complete the essays he assigns.
Lectures are clear, but he has a tendency to get behind schedule. The class is overall easy, which can be a con. He requires around six books. You might feel like you wasted your money on some of those books because you only use a bit of info from each. So get them cheap. Your are evaluated by two exams and three papers.
Dr. K is awesome! He is an amazing teacher, gives great lectures, and is very knowledgeable. He can be really funny and is very down to earth. He gives clear guide lines for all assignments and is a fair grader. Dr. K is hands down one of the best professors at Morton College!
You'll read lots of books. He's a great guy. You can easily ask for his help for your paper.
This professor is the best professor I've ever had in Morton! Take Him! My friends take him even though they don't need his class, that's how wonderful he is! Super cute too ;)
Really Good teacher. Enjoyed the lectures, and makes the class really fun
I've had Dr. K for 3 classes now, he is by far my fav. teacher at Morton, he knows his stuff and is funny, take notes of everything he writes since the notes write the papers for you! (no hw besides read) I got an A in every single paper and I am not a history buff, try not to miss more then 3 classes, would take another class w/ him if I could
This teacher is very cool. Lectures are very interesting and papers can be easy if you pay attention in class and actually do the work. Wonderful class.
I've rated Dr. K's history class but I've taken a phi class with him now. Still have to say great teacher! Best Morton has as far as I know. Grades consist of papers:he gives you exact guidelines on how to write, no hw besides occasional reading, his lectures are good, especially w/ class participation, 1 grade off for late papers each class day
You don't really need to buy the books, though they are good reads, but you can learn everything from the class notes. Attendance is not mandatory, but it does make a difference grade-wise. I never understood why students do poorly in his class, when all you have to is show up for class, write down notes, and submit 3 papers. Thats all, very simple
I did not need the books for class, but I found helpful was voice recording his lectures. Everything that he asks for the three papers is all based off his notes. So I literally would go back and hear the recording and write my paper on what he mentioned in class. He's not to harsh on grading but not easy as well. He's a good teacher over all!
I used to dislike History when I was in high school but this teacher has changed that thoughtfeeling. I have enjoyed learning everything he has taught us. You must be extreamly lazy not to pass this class with a B. He gives you the notes you need to write your papers and the exams. Very interesting class.
We read 4 books for class that you read on your own. Grades are based on papers that include information from the books you read and lectures. Papers are easy because he tells you everything that he wants in them. Great lectures . You can tell he has a passion for history and philosophy.
I absolutely love Dr. K! By far the best teacher I've had in college. He is pretty down to earth. He's pretty kind and chill. He makes his lectures really understandable. Everything he talks about in class will be on your test. You get 3 tests and 2 biopoems, they're are SUPER easy!! He's such a lovable person. I would totally take his class again!
I took him for two classes, Phil 125 and Hist 104. I got an A in Phil and a B in Hist. The history class had tests and assignments, the philosophy class had no tests and only assignments. Both classes were pretty straight forward but my bad attendance for History lowered my grade to a B.
teaches with a passion. grade is based on 4 essays if you follow his guidelines easy A
Boring lectures, gets off-topic, and doesn't explain well. Also writes random words on the board, grades harshly, & if you don't understand the paper, just don't do it; either way you'll fail. Does not take into consideration that you actually tried. Grades as if you were an actual anthropologist with his experience. Cheaters pass the class.
Stupidly easy class. 3 tests of 50 true false questions. This class single-handedly convinced me that anthropology is not real science. Everyday was a a variant of "Gender is a social construct", "race is a social construct", "masculinity is a social construct" "kissing is a social construct" ect.
I enjoy Dr. Ks lectures so much I took two of his classes this semester! Hes a very smart man and anything you ask he has a solid answer for. He reviews what will be on tests or papers the weeks leading up to it and the day before they are due. He allows a lot of time for questions so ask them!
You read a lot of books that matter for the test and also essays/poems. The class is not an easy A but not impossible. Lectures are very important because thats what the test will consist of. Must show up everyday, be attentive to detail, and read the books.
He knows his material well and is passionate about it. I had never written Bio Poems before but he was clear about what he wanted and how you were supposed to do it. He requires several books but all were inexpensive so I did not mind. If you are not ready to learn, do not take his class for you will just be wasting both your times.
Worst instructor ever had.
Don't take this professor..... Bad news
DO NOT TAKE THIS PROFESSOR GET SOMEONE ELSE
Very little direction and confuses everyone. Messes with students G.P.A. Worst instructor ever had. DO NOT TAKE THIS INSTRUCTOR. Take the class at another school, if you have to.
Bad Professor
Totally Bad Professor.
Not a good techer.
Impossible to get a decent grade.
talks non-sense in class then grades the work so hard, no one can get a good grade unless one of HIS favorites. Wasted time, money effort. Total disservice to the school. Worst teacher, instructor professor at Morton. Disgraceful.
Drop within the first week, or else.
Would rather transfer schools then take this teacher.
No clear grading criteria, no study guides.
Bad teacher, take someone else next semester.
Nor study guides, unclear grading method. Keeps students in dark. Can't understand stuff written all over the chalkboard. Test questions out of blue, not discussed in class prior.
Bad Instructor. Recommend taking the class with someone else.
Can't believe the college keeps this guy.
Puts up a good front in the first week or two. Then, turns on all the students so no one can get a good grade. He is very "two-faced", and deceitful.
No study guides for the tests. Tested on stuff not talked about in class.
No study guide for the tests. Waste of time. Can't figure out how to get a good grade in the class.
No office hours
Jump out of this class. You'll mess up your G.P.A. if you stay in. The teacher is not clear with the grading criteria. Also, slips something in on the end to not be able to achieve a good grade. Total rip off class.
No way. Don't take this class.
Talks, talks talk, put complicated stuff on board that nobody understands, then everyone gets a bad grade. Go figure.
Too much homework.
Bored in class. Non-sense. Too many workbooks and assignments. Non-sense.
worse teacher I've ever had. Very disappointing.
no study guides for tests.
They hire anybody I guess.
Dr. K is amazing!! I had him for Anthro & Cultural Anthro. He does write random stuff on board but if you pay attention and READ the book, you'll get an easy A. Exams are T/F and super easy if like I said, you read the books! Would definitely take him agin without a doubt!
Yes to the post person 2 comments ago. You obviously aren't paying for college with your personal money. You would not feel this way if you were wasting your money or your parents money getting a bad grade from this teacher that you DID NOT DESERVE. The heck with you.
No way. Doesn't work with students to improve grades.
have to do quizzes without examining the material.
After doing a bunch of labor and work, you will end up with a bad grade. Typical weed-out class. Might as well just had the school a bunch of money for nothing. The class is a joke.
This instructor will get you ready for U.I.C.C. and places like Brown University.
Constant writing assignments.
Lacks any type of grading criteria.
Worst teacher I ever had.
No study guides.
Bad news, too many papers, too few ways to earn points.
This professor is a students nightmare.
Will lose the class, lost in lectures for what the students are supposed to know.
Can't figure out the essay papers. Very picky and particular on the written work that must be done. Almost like having another English course.
The professor will go to great lengths on how the students should write up the paper, then gives out bad grades anyway.
Yes, he is up there.
Group project or not, you won't end up with a good grade. You will wreck your G.P.A., get out of the class.
Definitely an Ivy league or private school teacher.
Drop the class, drop the class, drop the class.
Sure one of the best teachers on campus, NOT!
Like sitting in class with a literary critic. Very boring and unenthusiastic. Total drag.
He is one of the best history teachers. I can tell you half of these reviews are coming from people that are not willing to work for their grade. I took him for 103&104 and both classes were easy to me, but that was because I put in the work. Hes a caring person and will be willing to help you. Take him and do the work!!!
One of the most remarkable professors I've had in my life. No clue on the bad reviews, but this is college and you must come prepared. This class will require a lot of reading and writing outside of class. You must be able to think for yourself. Don't waste his time if you think this class will be easy. He should be teaching at a university.
4 papers assigned. Attendance policy, which is useless since he just goes over the reading material that you should be reading. I had to go to class for that reason and it was a waste of time. Unenthusiastic, making his class really bland. He is a little tough on grading. Turn in an assignment late, it drops by a letter grade. Don't recommend.
Like taking 4 classes in one. Way too much work. You will get a bad grade no matter what you do.
We turned in a total of 4 assignments throughout the semester. He makes it pretty clear on the instructions. He gives you a lot of pointers as well. It's really up to the student to put all the pieces together. It's not a hard class. Although attendance seemed unnecessary at times, it's best if you go to hear anything extra he says aside from notes
Obviously a lover of history. He made sure on the first day of class what was to be expected so there were no surprises. I'll take writing papers over test any day. Not an easy class but one that makes you think!
Idk why theres so many negative reviews. He gives 4 writing assignments and if you get anything lower than a C then you werent listening to pointers, tips and specific things he wants in your papers. I walked in this class terrified based on these reviews but he isnt terrible. Just listen to his lectures and write down everything!!Youll do fine
Pretty classic "good professor", honestly. The four creative writing style assignments for HIS-103 might seem a little strange, but I got A's on them, and most people in the class did well. He's available to talk about the subject matter and to help you if you're struggling. Good lecturer, he uses all the books, no tests or exam final in this one.
Theres tons of negative reviews on this guy. Idk why. I put in the work, read the books and took notes on info he puts emphasis on for the papers. I received an A in the class. If you do poorly its because you simply didnt try.
I took Mr. K for anthropology 101 & 102. He is a great teacher. His lectures are engaging and he is very good at making them clear.
Dont let the negative reviews scare you. Hes a great professor and the class is easy if you actually pay attention to what he wants you to do. I did and got an A on all of my assignments. Hes pretty chill.
I took him for Ant101 and Ant102 and honestly it was the best class I took! Yea there's a lot of reading but honestly if you do your homework and what you're supposed to do then you'll pass the class. He's really nice and willing to help you out outside of class. def would take again
Mr. Kasprowicz. is very lecture heavy but very easy to follow. Show up, take some notes, and study the material and you'll do fine. I don't think anyone failed and if they did, it's because they either didn't turn in the one assignment he gave the due date for at the beginning of the semester or failed the three tests given. Easy and fair class.
DON'T LISTEN, to those that had negative things to say about Dr. K I took 4 different subjects with him, why? Because he is a GREAT prof! Anyone who says otherwise probably never showed up to class and never took any notes & more than likely procrasinated on assignments. I received an A in all 4 courses with him because i put in the work. Take him!
If you like a more independent work style this class is maybe for you. He makes you buy SEVERAL books that I honestly did not read. He bases assignments (the very few), on lectures and books, if you take notes and somewhat participate you will be fine. His grading is not the best and if you can take another course, it's not worth it.
Dr. K is awesome. Negative reviews are from students who don't want to put in work. His class was lecture heavy, you have to read & are graded on 3-4 papers. He is clear on what he expects from each assignment & encourages students to ask questions. I thought this class was going to be boring but Dr. K is a great professor. Take him if you can!
bad lectures, spaces out mid lecture writes useless notes with not enough detail on the board while telling us to take notes. Grades in a strange way, he doesn't want you to do good in your papers but wants you to just follow his instructions for the paper exactly and doesn't grade fairly at all.
Dr. K's class can be challenging, but if you put in the work - read the material, take good notes, and use study aids like Unstuck ai - you'll do well. Attendance is mandatory, but the lectures are worth it. Just be ready to write those 4 papers.
Be ready to read a lot of texts and books that are required for his class, I took him in fall 2024 and i can say he's a really great professor and his class was easy. just read the material and study for the exams and you'll pass. he truly cares about the topic he teaches and is very understanding with students and helps answer questions.
