after every class i felt like shooting myself. He even threatened me when i disagreed with him on something.. he said people who fight me don't get A's I thought college was an environment where you could voice your opinion. don't take him.

complete joke of a teacher and class. perhaps getting HIT by a plane has something to do with it. assignments are confusing, the more you ask questions, the more confused you get. he will take points off, and wont tell you why. almost never available

This class had nothing to do with mass media. It was all about race relations and life in an African tribe. What a waste of good money. Do not take this class if you really need to learn about mass media. If you just need to slide through for a B, yes

His class is a joke. Everyday the assignments are changed. He acts as if his class is the only class or thing in your life that you have to do. I learned nothing about Mass Media...except what stereotypes are, but I already knew that. What a waste.

For my final presentation, I had to memorize every line of about 7 songs. That is it. He had us memorize songs for no reason at all. You will learn nothing at all, and will get a bad grade if you can't memorize popular music.

I dropped this class like a bad habit after the first day. He's funny, but his class is like watching a train wreck in slow motion.

yeah the class is easy, but he gave everyone an F on a paper because no one had this certain element in it, because he never told us, and when I confronted him about it he got very angry and in my face. Unless you wanna be AEPhi don't take him

I HATED this class, my least favorite class ever at Rowan. It is a complete JOKE, go to class and do minimal work for an A but the class SUCKS, use it for a GE Elective and boost ur GPA thats about all its good for...

You never know what assignments you really need to do and which ones are bull so you stress over everything-has no real grading criteria anyway. He tells people of his race that they are getting As before the final, isn't helpful, never know how u r doing

He was so unclear on directions, I never knew what to do. He prepared us for at least 3 tests during the semester and we only had one, the final. (the final took a total of 5 minutes) The class is a waste of time and he needs to be psychologically evaluated.

Okay, very funny guy, has some of the funniest opinions on life. Takes half the class on attendance which is a plus and kinda funny. Not clear at all with directions, heavy Nigerian accent. However, if you have half a brain you will do fine.

WORST PROFESSOR @ ROWAN. U LEARN NOTHING HE MAKES NO SENSE, LESSONS ARE COMPLETELY IRRELEVANT. u will not learn anything. he's so unclear and its not as easy and A as u think... especially if u miss 1 class. if u miss 2, he tells u to drop the class b/c ur going to get an F.

i dont understand him at all, what he wants or what he's trying to say. he goes off on tangents and tells jokes and stories that are completely irrelevant. all he says is we do all the work wrong and get zeros. not worth the trouble. he's extremely annoying. i suggest taking a different professor.

By far the worst teacher i have ever had. His assignments are vague and his grading is worse. You learn nothing and stress over everything because you dont know what he wants. In the end, you will get an arbitrary grade and either be happy or pissed. Get him out of Rowan before he hurts more people.

worst teacher ever, if you HAVE to take him for intro to communication studies, then be prepared to dread the class, if you can take someone else for mass media DO IT. he's horrible. my whole class complained about him to the dean last semester.

Have no idea how he got his doctorate or a job as a professor. Awful teacher and awful experience. Screwed up many grades during the semester as well as my final grade. Wasn't at his office hours; didn't keep appointments. Soo unhelpful. Took weeks to correct my grade; was being so difficult.

Worst teacher ever!

This man is a foreigner is every sense of the word. He's a sweet guy and loves a debate, but his teaching skills leave little to be desired. He gives tons of busy-work thats easy but a total waste of time, and he's so disorganised you can pretty much tell

Don't no take him for the love of god.I have never had so much work in my entire life.Our class just handed in a take home test (12 pages minimun typed)This week is thanksgiving break and we are expected to hand in another paper one week from today. Did I mention that it's 24 pages long minimum? yea a week to write 24 pages.I used to like him too.

CONFUSED that's all I was just confused paper after paper ..he contradicts himself and forgets what he told you and Loses papers unorganized got to stay on top of him about things like that I'm glad it's over

his accent makes it difficult to understand him. he constantly changes assignments and their due dates, which makes it harder. if you miss 1 class, you get dropped a grade (yes, really). assignments include memorizing song lyrics, watching bad movies he likes, and lots of 8th grade work which you may fail if he feels like failing you.

He's absolutely awful as a teacher. He enjoys himself, his own ideas, and basketball. He likes mothers and loves you if you pal around with him. This is not Sesame Street people! Class could be much better. If you want to learn something, don't take him. Tests are ridiculous nonsense. Videos too. A shame. A real waste. WISE UP ROWAN dept heads!!!

I would like to know which raters are male and which are female. Apparently, those who think he's great don't mind a male chauvinist, pig-headed, time-waster who wants to dominate students into submission, while acting as if he's doing them a favor. Rowan- OPEN YOUR EYES! Learn the truth. Hire a student/spy to sit in class and report observations.

Ikpah is by far the worst teacher I have ever had and could ever imagine having. The work load is unbelievably overwhelming. Your heart will literally drop when you hear what this guy assigns for hw. The beginning is cake because he doesn't want you to drop, but seriously, do yourself a favor and do not take this class.

By far the worst teacher at rowan. If you disagree with him, he'll just say "I like your style" then give you no credit. Assignments are scattered and there's very little description of what to do or when they're due. Learned about as much as a normal class covers in one class period over the entire semester. Take him if you enjoy being frustrated

I was excited to register for Comm Theory class. That excitement was deflated immediately. Not only did the teacher not order a textbook then tell us to go find an earlier edition for sale on the internet, but he also doesn't use a syllabus at all. There is so much more that space here won't permit. Sufficeto say, I withdrew from this AWFUL class

Communication Theory - if you are an organized student who likes to have a syllabus - your road map to what lies ahead - then this class is not for you. He doesn't use a syllabus and doesn't give you any idea of what is coming. Disorganzied teacher, no syllabus, complete waste of valuable student time

Doesn't use a syllabus, disorganized, can't understand much of what he says unless you really concentrate, awful experience. Avoid this teacher!

The absolute worst experience of my educational life. I am a good student, and Ikpah is one of the most contradicting professors I've ever seen. The problem is he doesn't even realize it because he doesn't know how to, no offense, explain things in English. Very Confusing, and very disorganized. DROP DROP DROP!. I had to withdraw

If you're looking for structure this is the wrong class to take. Syllabus changes every week. Class is cancelled every other week. And he doesn't remember anything he says. Oh did I mention he doesn't teach at all? Yea he doesn't... Relies on students to "teach each other." Tenure is a beautiful thing for some...

One big headache

If you want a class that's easy, take him. If you want to learn, don't. He is a nice guy, good heart but he always changes his mind as to what he wants you to know. Will watch movies and write papers on them.

He is a horrible professor. It's almost impossible to understand anything he says. He over complicates assignments and gives you a substantial amount of work to do in a short time. Do not take mass media communication with him as a free elective. It's completely over the top...coming from a senior with a 3.5 GPA...don't wreck your GPA cause of him.

So... Although he is IMPOSSIBLE to understand, has no class structure in lessons or assignments AND randomly makes up projects that are worth like 60% of your grade, he is not that bad of a teacher. He is funny but you will get a headache after every class... promise. Got a A- because I had to go to his office 3 times for help on Fridays. Avoid.

Has a good sense of humor, but is otherwise completely unhelpful. Could not understand most of what he said. As others have said, he makes up assignments as he goes and doesn't give you instructions until right before the due date. Didn't learn anything in theory and it affected my learning in subsequent classes. Would not take again or recommend.

Taking this class is just like tripping on acid, you have absolutely no clue whats going on. Buckle up your seat belts if you are stuck in his class reading this you just opened up pandoras box. Call your mom, tell her you love her because I'm sorry I don't know if your making it out of this alive. He is also addicted to pain meds so watch out.

Literally the most unorganized person i have met in my life. Changes due dates constantly. Will give you a 0 on anything without the date on it. Incredibly strict- if you miss class for any reason, you drop a letter grade. Extremely unclear on everything. Learned nothing about the subject matter. Avoid this guy like the plague.

Worst professor ever. He was completely unorganized. I could not understand anything he said. This was not just because of his accent, he changed things every other day & never remembers what he says. If you do the work you will do good, but it's not worth it. He'll often make you come all the way to his office for no reason, which is inconvenient.

He never quite knows what he's talking about it seems. He's really hard to understand, but it's not really because of his accent. He's very disorganized and constantly changes rules, due dates, and anything else he can't remember. He has a few funny moments, but to me at least they don't make up for his class being confusing as anything 24/7.

Very unorganized and makes up assignments on the spot. He has a very thick accent and gave 5 different assignments right before finals week

There will be 4 pages of homework each weekend on top of various confusing projects that require a very specific APA format. This professor will give you a zero for not writing the class time on your paper. The best yet was when he emailed us that we had a 50 point test the first day of class that students were required to complete within 30 mins

Please stop saying he's "hilarious." He may be a good person, but he's not a good teacher. His assignments make no sense, and he constantly changes due dates. If you miss 1 class, your grade will be dropped for any reason. He has no grasp of the material, but he will accept coffee as a kind gesture. Epitome of a tenured prof.

This is by far the worst professor I have ever had. I have never been so stressed out and thrown off in a class. His grading criteria is absurd and basically if its not his way its no ones way. Doesnt hand back assignments. Changes due dates constantly and doesnt remember that he does so. Doesnt follow syllabus. Overall, completely avoid.

This guy has no business being a professor. He does not teach anything, just gives you a bunch of work with unclear and confusing directions. Constantly changes due dates and does not follow the syllabus. He also has extremely high grading expectations, so if you aren't able to understand his vague, misleading instructions then you will get zeros.

He is a nice professor and can be funny but as a teacher, he is extremely confusing with dates not adding up to due dates for papers and the syllabus being unorganized. Having to write many papers throughout the semester that seems just like busy work.

I took Professor Ikpah for IPC online and it was rough. He never emailed us unless it was to say that he wouldn't be accepting late work, and if you emailed him he gave pretty vague responses. One time he accidentally locked the module for the week and when he finally unlocked it he said I had two days to complete the assignment or I would get a 0.

Professor sent an email not too long before class would begin stating we needed to print the syllabus. Not considering the fact some students commute, or are attending other courses. Ended up giving us an exam the first day. Extremely rude upon arrival. Insisted in dropping letter grade if absent once.

This professor is one of the bad ones I've had at Rowan. At the beginning I thought he was a she. Very rough grader, rude in comments on assignments, Addressed me by my last name in a nasty comment. I would not recommend taking a course with this professor.

Honestly, this is the worst professor I've had. Wasting tuition on an online class with recycled slides and assignments from 2018 is ridiculous. They didn't grade assignments for over a month and ignored my emails. I had to contact the department head just to get feedback. It was an easy class, but the headache wasn't worth it.

Weirdly passive aggressive in his communications, and seems to contradict himself with the grading and the actual instructions. Much of, if not all of the lectures, material, and assignments appear to be completely recycled from previous semesters. The class itself isn't terribly difficult, but I cannot recommend anybody willingly take this class.
