She is great!
It was a great class. She clearly explained at the beginning of the semester what it would take to get an A, and that was pretty much it. Gives opportunity for extra credit. Go to class!
She is a great teacher. She cares for her students, you can really see that in her teaching. My recom. take her!!!!!!!!

I had a C in this class on the last day. I left the room with an A. Only God knows how but that speaks beauty to me!
Very helpful. Trys to actually communicate with the student. Learned mucho from her.

Great math professor!!! Very helpful! Just do your homework and you will make an A easily.
If you do your homework, you'll get an A. Don't be a slacker!
Is a bad teacher. Hard to understand at time. Only thing that made her any good was that she would let you take a test two are three times. But she should not teach anything above trig.
Lots of homework but not for a grade. DO IT! Most of the Tests come directly from them! Does not explain things in depth, and assumes you are a math whiz! Not my recomendation!
Did not explain concepts to her students. Expects you to already know how to do the work. Avoid her at all costs.
She sucks! I spent hours working on homework because she does not explain. She expects you to know everything.
She sucks. SHe doesn't explain anything, plus you can't undrestand her anyways. Don't take her, ever.

Everyone who has downed this teacher needs to wake up. She is very helpful. Just because she expects you to be able to add 2 and 2, ya'll call her horrible. All of you are punk ass ****es.
she knows what is going on, but she's so smart at it that if you don't understand something then you're totally screwed cause she doesn't know how to teach it. don't do it dude. p.s. the exclamation point is killer!
NOT A GOOD PROFESSOR!!! Do NOT take her if you want to understand ANYTHING and/or pass the class!!! VERY unorganized, VERY unclear, seems to be a very angry person, and missed quite a few days of class. NOT HELPFUL!!!
This class almost had me droping out of college. She NEVER would help and she didn't answer e-mail!! I made A's and B's in my other math classes but I got an F in this one toke it over with different instructor and got a B!

Your Awsome!!!!!!
Poor teaching skills: gave tests over what we hadn't covered. Did try and give oppurtunities to catch up but not a good teacher overall.
If you are gonna teach in english learn the language I spent most of my time in class trying to understand her. She is not very easy on the eyes so that made it hard to concentrate.
stay out she is the worst teacher ever
Might as well have a robot in there. We had a review for a test and she mightve said 4 words the entire time.
She is a very good teacher. She gives good notes. Some of her test problems are hard but all of the problems come from the homework. I am taking her again for Cal 1.
Hard to understand, only grades are tests, class was very hard.
She doesn't explain anything very well. Plus, she has a thick accent making her almost impossible to understand. When someone had a problem, she just gets angry instead of trying to help them.
Avoid her like the plague! This is a hard class that a lot of people are failing, including myself! I made a C on precal in high school, but I'm averaging a 60 in here right now.
Very easy if you are willing to work, almost all of her test questions are from homework, notes, and examples in the book. So if you do the homework you do well in the class.
Terrible class. Three tests is your grade. Doesnt explain the material well. Explains the easy ones, you need to work the hard ones. Doesnt care or try and help the students. Dont take.
She seems like she wants to help you, but her examples are often hard to follow and her tests are pure demons. If you're willing to do every problem in the book, you'll probably do well. I know I'll never be taking her again.
Well, I worked every problem in the book, and I got an A. =) She is very busy, and can be hard to get a hold of, but her tests are very easy if you do the work she assigns. She tries at all costs to help the student, and this is why she is top-notch.
She is the best math teacher ever! She is extremely helpful. Most importantly she cares about her students. I've taken her twice and if I could I would major in Dr.Gandi's classes. You will not find a better math teacher. Take her, you won't regret it.
She is a pretty good teacher. She sux at getting your grades back to you in a timely manner. She says her daughter is sick all the time(thats her excuse for getting your grades back on time). She was 1&1/2 hour late to final and still made us take it.
This was the worst class i have ever taken. She is a horrible teacher. She knows how to do the problems but she can't break it down to where normal people can understand. Do not take this class unless you already know how to do the problems.
She meens well, But it was impossible for me to learn from her. Most students in her class are failing. If you take her be prepaired to learn it on your own.
Did not follow Math dept. standard syllabus for topics to be taught.
Best teacher in the math department. Calculus is a hard class and you have to study to pass. She did everything in her power to help everyone pass. Uses problems she does on the board and homework problems on tests. Take her if at all possible.
I have been out of college for 7 years and I remember Dr.Gandhi to be the best math teacher I ever had. I retook Calc under her and I went from a D+ to an A. She is remarkable in how she is able to explain a problem to the student. She is highly recommen
This lady hates the world, she never smiles and she yells math rules at you. Dont ask questions in class, she wont help you. I think she is mental. I made a good grade in the class, but not becuase of her
One of my favorite math professors at tech! Took her for differential equations and though she wasn't easy, she was fair to you if you worked hard. Very clear in class examples. Very fair on quizzes and tests. Work hard and you will do good in her class!
Show up for class, do the problems she assigns, and you will have no problem making a 'B' or better. If you have a problem, she answers your questions. But don't wait until the last two weeks of class. Her examples are clear and she's very fair.
if she ever let me know my grades and if you could understand a word she saids I'm sure she'd be an excellent teacher
lol worst teacher on earth. Never take her. Cant speak english to were you can understand it and cant teach. DONT TAKE IT
I thought she spoke descent English, i never had a problem understanding her.
she is the greatest teacher! calculus is not easy, so you have to go to class and do the work. she is super fair, and if you make a bad grade, it is your OWN fault- i am horrible at math, studied like crazy- made an A. If I can do, anyone can. She is supr

She is a good teacher. At first I didn't know about her but I am glad that I took her, and she can to speak english!! All of the problems on the test come directly from your homework or examples she does in class. She even let my class retake a test most people failed. Take her if you can!!
Easy class. Tests are all from examples and questions from the text. Gives ample opportunities for extra credit. Did not finish the entire course so last quiz involved copying examples and defintions out of the text
I HATED THIS CLASS AND THE TEACHER WAS HORRIBLE. SHE WASN'T VERY HELPFUL AT ALL.
Horrible! Very inconsistent, unclear, rude. Lost some quizzes & grades, didn't tell us our grades until last days of class. For final, told us to study entire book. Makes you copy examples - whole paragraphs - from book (busy work) then might or might not take it up. DO NOT recommend!
Great teacher! I am not good at math, I ended up making an A. All of the problems on the test come directly from the homework. There are chances for bonus points that are added to your final grade. Take her if you can!!
The Math dept is changing at Tech - ALL TESTS are written and graded by comittee. Dr. Gandhi does a great job of delivering the info and allowing for extra credit, but she has little input regarding tests. She is admittedly shy in class, but very willing and able to answer questions in and of class.
She doesn't explain things very well and her substitutes are horrible. Seems like a nice lady, sher just needs to work on her teaching skills. The crappy tests aren't her fault, everythings "DEPARTMENTAL" now. They had to throw out the first one because no one made higher than 75 b/c the Dep goofed.
not too bad, tests and quizzes suck but she will slow down and answer questions
Is willing to help if: you show up to class, ask her for help, and try. Is not leniant and will not help you if you don't ask for help yourself. But otherwise, she'll like you, and class is easy.
I did not enjoy her class at all. She was rude and unhelpful, and her quizzes sucked! I took calculus in high school, but I had to drop her class because she was failing me. I do not recommend her to anyone!
This class is much harder than it should be, mainly because the department can't get its act together about what material should be covered and how the tests should be graded.
SHE IS VERY UNORGANIZED AND IS VERY HARD TO UNDERSTAND
she is very disorganized, try to take someone else if you can, she does do a good job at explaining how you get the answers, and makes you think wether it's a pos or neg, tests are hard, and she has a weird grading policy for herself, she makes you feel stupid sometimes, ended up with a c in the class
Maybe she would be a better teacher for lower level math classes but does not know enough to teach diff. equ.
You hardly get any grades in this class. Her ways of explaining things are hard to understand. I failed this course. Take this class with someone else.
She was easy to get along with. Go to her office and if nothing else say Hi. Get to know her as a person and aslo do your HW and show her that you are trying and you will make it out of there with an A.
Lost homework, lost quiz grades, lost 2 of my 3 tests. Very disappointed. Also this was not the first time she'd lost people's homework. Also she doesn't do EMAIL and meetings are limited because she spends more time with her daughter than class.
After reading comments on here I was a little scared before taking her, but now that it's over and I got the "A" the only complaint I can think of is that she is a little slow on getting grades back and she is a bit unorganized. I would take her again. And I would recommend her to anyone else.
She was a very agry person all the time. Never willing to help out and angry. Very impolite, but at least I have no more math.
This was by far the worst class I have ever had to sit through. Math isn't always exciting but when going to class is a chore rather than something you just don't prefer, there is a problem.
Completely unhelpful. Very rude.
I really don't like her class. I understand Math and can execute Up and past Trig, but this class is hard
She's the best your going to get in TTU's math dept.
She is the worst teacher I have ever had! It ruins my day every day when I have to go to her class! She is very mean and rude to students. Her grading is unfair and you have to follow it in a specific way to get any credit. Understanding her is incredibly hard because of her deficient english, and she is apathetic to the overall achievement of any pupil she has. AVOID!!!!
Ms. Gandhi knows her stuff. She's very clear and will answer your questions. She takes awhile to grade tests and stuff, so be willing to wait. She's also not interested in entertaining AT ALL. Pretty boring, if you're not just there to learn. Take her if you like math.
I'm not gonna make any accusations, but everyone in my section failed her class. I had to drop it.
I am actually dumber as a result of this class. If you're going to take her, and you don't know math really well, just buy the book and teach yourself how to do it. Don't listen to her or you won't have a clue what's going on. 9 people out of about 90 passed her last test, then she tried to blame it on us. She gives bonus so a few people will pass.
She was a very good teacher. You will start out thinking you're going to fail but in the end you will actually do good. Attendance will make you pass . Do the outlines and there is always a quiz on Friday. I thought i'd fail and came out with a B!
Her test come from the problems off of homework and the work done during the class. SHe isn't very clear in her teachings. She will put up the problem and the solution and tell you that class is ovver. oh... and she never cancells class for anything....even for Thanksgiving.
She understands math but is unable to explain it in any logical sense. Avoid if at all possible - had to drop the class.
I found her class to be easy, even though I hardly went. You might find it hard to understand the way she teaches. Do the homework she assigns, the test questions come from your homework!!! Overall...She wasn't bad.
i found that she was very unhelpful did not understand a word she said and quit attending after 3 weeks figured it will be easier to fail and retake next semester
If you choose to take her be prepared to study until you can not stand to look at a math problem ever again
Class can be a bit hard since her teaching methods are different. Otherwise, she's pretty clear. If you want any help, she will only do so if you know the rules. Also, make sure you do the homework and take notes!
I still have nightmares.
She set aside very little class time to answer student questions. Instead she would have study meetings on Wednesday nights. Due to work, I could never make it. She frequently accused the textbook authors of being "idiots," and on a few occasions pointed out mistakes they had made. Lots of fun for a class with a heavy textbook element.
offers study sessions, if you attend class and study sessions and make atleast a 50 on the final she will pass you. tests are hard, but everything comes from the homework
Blame the bad evaluations on the moron freshmen this woman has to teach! She is clear and is LONGING to pass everyone with flying colors. As in every class of a higher level than 101, do your homework--it's the only way to learn. If you hate math, it's even more important that you do your homework. Don't expect her to pass you if you don't learn it
I took her for both math 1130 and 1830. She is the only teacher that I know who consitantly takes her free time to set up study sessions at least 3 times a week. If more teachers at tech were as interested in helping their students succeed, college would be a much more enjoyable experience. I would not take anyone else for these classes.RECOMENDED!
She's kinda hard...but not a bad teacher if you really stay on top of things...
I understand why some people say she's impersonal, but she really isn't. Dr. Gandi is just very shy and forces herself to stand up and teach to come out of her shell. When you understand that, she's a very good teacher whom I'm sure you'll love. She knows what she's talking about and more than willing to help you, BUT YOU HAVE TO ASK!
She's not bad at all. She tries to explain things until students get them. It would help a lot if you read the book as a complement to her class. Just do ALL of your HW and ask questions at the begining of the class. That sould get you at least a B on every test.
horrible
I think she is a really great teacher. It's not a walk in the park but she wants you to do well and gives lots of extra credit.
She is a teacher who doesn't explain things clearly and doesn't seem to care about teaching. When you do ask questions or do work on the board and do it wrong she gets a smirk on her face making you feel dumb. Her tests aren't that difficult if you are able to understand the concepts yourself. Wish i didn't take her try not to if possible!
Really helped the students if we went to her.
She is a great teacher and explains the material better than any other professor I have had a tech. Go to class and do you work, she is there to teach but if your not there to learn you will do poorly. IT IS COLLEGE not highschool, you have to try.
Worst teacher ever...can't ask her questions she just looks at you like your studpid...most of the time you can't even understand her.
Ms. Gandhi is a great professor, her class is hard but if you pay attention in class and take advantage of her lab hours when you fall behind you will survive...
Mrs. Gandhi is the best math teacher I have ever had. She explains things really clearly and offers lots of lab hours to help students. She assigns a review before each test and every test has at least 80% of the same questions on the test. And she gives extra points all the time. She really wants her students to succeed. I learned a lot!
Don't get scared of how she just comes in the room an starts writing problems on the board. Listen and pay attention as much as you can, even though she is hard to understand. Because she offers study labs and you get to ask more in depth questions then. When she notices your effort by coming to labs, she might even be willing to curve, I got a B
TAKE SOMEONE ELSE. She is not a good Prof. She flies through the material and expects you to remember pages of material in just a few days. If you don't have a strong pre-cal background you are in trouble because she does not slow down to help you catch up at all. She teaches the class at a Cal 3 level. On the tests she throws curve balls.
Good teacher! She does go through the material really fast and you do have to do a lot of studying outside of class. She has lab hours which are very helpful. You must attend class and take notes in order to do well.
The best math professor I have ever had. Very clear teaching style, very fair grading on tests. I would recommend her to anyone taking a math class, and I am taking her again for 1720. I wish she was teaching Cal 1.
Had Gandhi for both pre-cal classes. Her teaching style is remarkably clear and thoroughly logical. The course was challenging, and you cannot forget anything. In Cal 1 now, and making above 95's on the tests, directly thanks to her class. If you want to really learn math, don't take anyone else.
This woman is crazy.don't ask for help or extra time.(i had a girl in my class that asked for extra time, and ms. gandhi suggested she go to the special needs department) if you want to HATE math for the rest of your life take this class
She is very nice and determined professor. She worked hard to get to where she is, and if you dont show the same extreme effort you will fail. Her quizzes and tests are very difficult and make the problems in the book look easy. She has very little required homework but if you dont study outside of class it will come to bite you in the rear.
This teacher is very unclear when she teaches and has a bad habit of confusing the majority of the class. Her test are extremely difficult and does not prepare you very well for them. She does not always keep her lab hours and will only help you by telling you to memorize the rules first. The amount of studing to pass her class is rediculous.
She schedules labs, but half of the time no one is there including the professor, and when she is there, its usually just one or two people from the class. Expect to do allot of studying outside of class. she only takes 4 grades including the final. She gives homework suggestions, but never takes it up. I don't recommend this teacher
Absolutely terrible teacher. She is very lazy and misses many class periods. She also schedules help sessions that she likes to blow off. Asking a question is like the end of the world. She acts annoyed if you want any help. I'd definitely avoid her at all costs. She was so lazy that our only grade was the final exam.
She is a horrible teacher. I recommend you not to take her class. You CAN NOT use calculators and she is not clear on what she teach. She have labs, but always blow them off and when you do go, no one is there. (shake my head). I feel that I messed up taking a math class from her.
i'm not gonna say she's easy but if you just go to class everyday and do your work you will pass. she is always willing to help anyone so if you don't understand something ask or she'll move on and you'll be lost.
Mrs. Gandhi is not the easiest teacher ever but if you pass her class you will be ready for Calc 1 and so on. she doesnt always go to her labs But she is always willing to help if you ask for it. her teaching skills are awesome she describes everything step by step if you get how to do it ASK or you will be LOST! very nice. dont text!
She cancels class and doesn't email. You can email her but she doesn't email you back. Her classroom tools are chalkboard and chalk. No calcs or books. SHe makes labs but she doesn't show up. She also takes the smartest person in class and compares everyone else to them. If your struggling she is no help. she seems to be annoyed by trying to help.
I'm not good at math at all never made above 35 on a test in her Algebra class or her calc. class but still came out with a B and C. You have to attend every class and turn in homework that you attempted even if you couldn't do it and you will pass. not a teacher to take if you want an A cause i cant understand her accent sometimes
I came out of high school with a 4.0 and had 103 average in my precal class then i came to tech and got her. the first three weeks i was afraid i was going to fail the class even tho i studied outside of class. you get used to her teaching style. grading system is awesome. 4 test, 5 quizzes and a final. no grade for hw.
When I first stepped into her class, she scared us by saying we needed to study for her class at least 2 hours a night to do well in her class. If you have good work ethic, do your best to attend class, and pay attention, she'll take care of you. Her grading scale is great, that's what saved me this semester.
She is a very good teacher. She really wants you to know the basics so you have a good foundation. She is a very fair teacher as far as giving opportunities. She will give you or let you pick up a practice test. DO THE PRACTICE TESTS!!! Those tests are a great guideline for what will be on the test. Also, do homework. It's similar to the tests.
if u dont do good in her class its because u didnt really try. she will prepare u well for your future math classes (cal 1, 2, etc.). Shes not easy but she gives u every opportunity to do good in her class. if u dont, its because u didnt study. her class is big on trig identities which sounds bad but if u dont like them get out of engineering.
Avoid Gandhi like the plague!! She does a few examples and then sends you to the board in groups to work problems. We are so behind. She would pretty much snap at you if you asked a question. Don't take her! Enough said.
Horrible Teacher. Had her for Cal 1 and I haven't learned a thing. She gives you easy HW (which isn't graded) and a few examples and come test time she gives you problems that you have never seen before. Some teachers I asked for help had trouble doing her work.
Not the class to take if you're not a math person. Gandhi is very smart but not very good at teaching students. If you're capable of sitting down with the textbook and teaching yourself math, then you'll do fine. Gandhi will do her very best to help you if you're struggling, but often the way she explains things only confuses you further.
If you're like me and have a strong hatred for chalk/chalkboards, don't take this class. Not only is every single thing she ever does done on a chalkboard, but you'll have to go to the board and work problems yourself and if you hate chalk, you will want to die. Other than that, pretty easy A. Do the practice tests and show up for the reviews.
She gives you many chances to earn the grade you want. Even if you start out making low scores, there is still hope for an A. All you have to do is prove to her on the final exam that you understand the material. I prefer this learning/testing style.
She is really a good teacher. I like her. She is really helpful, espcially,in her sessions lab and you have to attend all her classes and be attention all the time then you will pass her class for sure.
A very great teacher! I took her this summer for Calc 2 and she gives you retakes on all the tests and has lab sessions. She wants you to make the grade you want. You have to come to class though and to her lab sessions if you have a hard time. If she sees that you are trying she will help you out.
Her lectures are crystal clear! If you want to know calculus and be prepared she is great!
i simply love the way she teaches, she really cares about students, very helpful. tests are challenging, but nothing u've never done before. will take again.
Excellent teacher. I had her for Calc 1 and 2 and I did good in both. I'm not very good at math (highest math in high-school was Pre-Cal). I was also away from college because of the army so when I went in I was not ready for it, but because of her teaching skills and helpfulness I pulled out with a "C" in Calc 1 and then made a "B" in Calc 2.
Excellent teacher. She teaches well and takes time out of her day to help students with problems. I recommend anyone who has a good work ethic.
She is very smart teacher and I love it the course she gave. to get good grades you have to work and study with out studying stay at home. Thank you very much miss gandi you are the best student from kuwait
She is an extremely smart lady that sometime speaks out of her students depth. Her test are something Satan designed to humiliate you, but that being said she is very kind to your grade at the end of the semester giving you plenty of chances to bring it up. I would recommend her to anybody who has to take multiple calculus classes.
The ratings on here for Professor Gandhi are quite harsh. As far as I'm concerned she is a great professor. She teaches very clearly and understandably. Also, she prepares students very well for the upper level calc courses that he or she may be taking. She obviously cares deeply for her students. The grade you get is the grade you earn.
She is a very good teacher, but she expects you to know all of precal. The tests are tough though she gives plenty of opportunities to redeem yourself. You have to put forward the effort on your part to study and do homework. I didn't and really struggled.
I had her as a teacher for both Calculus 1&2 and I can honestly say, she is the BEST teacher I have ever had so far. She goes straight to the point, knows how to teach, and unlike many other professors she tests you on what she has taught you in class, plus from the examples and HW from the book. I recommend her as teacher 100%.
She is terrible. The most advanced piece of technology she uses is a Xerox Machine. So forget email, even if she cancels class. All of her exams have mistakes in them and they are all hand written sloppily. She says you can call her house phone, but you will always get her fax machine if you call it. Worst experience I have ever had.
Mrs. Gandhi is very much into working for your grade. That being said, she sees you improving and trying, she will grade accordingly. There are many opportunities to replace grades. Also, if you make an A or a B on the final, showing that you learned the material despite struggling through the semester, you'll get that letter grade overall.
She makes calculus way more difficult than necessary. The tests are ridiculous. Half of the problems she solves are incorrect. She is bad at teaching. Stay away.
She presents the material well by working out problems on the board. You will be expected to memorize rules and Trig identities, but that should be expected. She is very generous with grading and provides you the opportunity to fix yourself if you do poorly (correct your own exam, replacing exam grades with midterm grades, etc).
i took this class in summer 4 tests, midterm and a Final(optional). she is a tough grader, but the class weren't that hard because she gives a lot of extra credits. don't believe the rumors about her. she will help if you try
worst professor ever. Don't take her if you don't want to memorize everything
i recommend her for the student who really wants to learn
I took her calc 2 class in summer. The material was tough and she is A tough grader but in her class you have a chance to make a good grade even if you did very bad in your tests. Just try hard to get better every test and she will help you. overall she is not as bad as described in comments and i would take her again if i can
A lot of people talk smack about Ms. Gandhi, but here's the truth... If you work hard in her class, YOU WILL PASS! That means just do the homework and you honestly should get an A. People just don't want to work hard and that's why they don't like her. But if you are a good student and you want to REALLY learn math, TAKE HER!
YES! That is the kind of instructors that we are looking for in math courses. I took CALC III with her, even she was a hard grader but she was trying her best to make it possible for you to show your best by giving you TONS of opportunities! Overall, I don't think should would read my comments because she doesn't use computers/emails at all :)
Her tests are hard, but if you all the homework that she mention you will get an A on her tests. She gives exactly same questions in the book, so you have to solve all problem in the book to get an A on her tests.
Dr. Gahndi was a very good professor. I thought her class was easy, but I am pretty good at math. She knows her stuff and will teach you well.
Skips her own office hours and lab times. Will move on to fast to somethings. Then have things on test you have never reviewed supposedly cause you should have learned the skill. Would never take her if you think you can pass withoutstudying or doing the homework. If you like to have multiple tries take her.
I had her for three classes cal 1 and 2 and diff e. She is an awesome cal teacher, diff e is so so. If you go to class everyday, you participate and she thinks you are trying she'll try to help you. Her class isn't easy but she's a good teacher and she gives a ton of second chances.
Old school, no email, chalk board. I don't recommend her if you're not a strong calculus student, but I liked her. Accent isn't difficult. Not the best at conveying information, but she's super chill and will explain things thoroughly if you ask. She wants to give you a good grade so just put in the effort and you should be good.
Best teacher i have ever had. Her classes are hard, but she gives many opportunities to get your grade up.
She is by far the worst math teacher I have ever had. She is very rude when you don't understand something, and if you ask a question, she will either ignore you, or tell you to ask later. Her tests are unclear and the study guides given are illegible because of her handwriting. Don't take her, you'll instantly regret it.
Gandhi is an excellent professor. Despite the hard course material, she offers plenty of test revisions and study guides throughout the semester. Her lectures are okay, as she works example problems from the book. She offers study guides and study sessions outside of class to prepare you for tests. Overall, very lenient professor if you study.
She was a great choice for Calc II. She takes time to listen to your problems, but she doesn't always do a good job explaining it. She advised rewriting all her notes, doing every example in the book, doing every problem in the book, and rinse and repeat until you memorize it all. She does great for a super hard class and is better than most profs.
She makes calculus way more difficult than its supposed to be. Half of the problems she solves are incorrect. Stay away.
She is by far the worst math teacher I have ever had. Don't take her, you'll instantly regret it.
If you have never taken calculus before her class will be very tough to succeed in. The way she teaches is not very intuitive so be prepared to learn most of the material on your own. She does give a ton of chances to flip your grade such as replacing test grades with the subsequent one. Every other test is very tough, but she is quite merciful.
Gandhi is a great instructor for Calculus 1. Although her tests were difficult, she gives plenty of opportunities for people to increase their grades. She mostly works out problems from the textbook in class.
What can I say about this class. Half of the people dropped the class because of how bad it was. After that another 10-20% just stopped showing up. The rest that stayed were always confused and used YouTube to teach them selves. I know because I was part of the groupchat that has the majority of the people who actually tried their absolute hardest.
I don't know how to express the importance of not getting this professor. She is the worst teacher I have ever had. She teaches straight out of the book and faces the board the entire class period. Students in the class were excited to make a 50 because the average exam score is a 20. DO NOT TAKE HER.
If your fundamentals of math aren't heavy, stay away from her. She does not grade homework, and your only grades are 4 quizzes, 4 tests, and a final. If you do bad on a test or quiz, it is very hard to bounce back. If you already know the calculus and just need to pass quickly, she is probably good for you. Overall, her teaching is awful.
She only works on problems on the board without explaining how or why to do the step. Only grades on 4 tests and 4 quizzes. Homework is assigned, but not graded, but do it anyway because otherwise it becomes hopeless.
Madhumathi's teaching style is tough - she moves quickly through material on the board without much explanation. Relying on the textbook and using study tools like unstuck AI can really help. Consider taking with a strong math foundation.
Out of my entire life while in school from K- college sophomore, this is the most incompetent teacher who's class I have had the displeasure in taking. She neither specifies about assignments nor does she attempt to email or reach out to her class about assignments or be clear about what we are to complete. I have learned more from tutors.
She's a professor that wants the best for her students but doesn't want them to go to Calculus if they don't know their stuff. She only had 4 tests and 4 quizzes but gave many opportunities to do better such as having Test 2 replace the grade for Test 1 if you did better on it. Very difficult class but I definitely came out knowing what was needed.
