Super boring and cannot answer the questions asked by students! Don't take her because if you make a 69 overall, she will not bump you up 1 point to pass the class. She's a slow grader when it comes to test and because she is a CPA she expects us to know everything. Going to class is pointless b/c she has a confused look on her face the whole class
I made a C+ and its 100% my own fault for slacking. She is a fine teacher, ive had WAY worse - i recommend ignoring the person below me.. take her. I plan on retaking her for a higher grade, especially now that i know how to do good in this class. Sincerely do all the homework before class, once online and 2 times by hand - you will get an A or B.
Shes very strict, which helps to pass but otherwise if your not ready to be a responsible student dont take this professor unless your ready.
I would not recommend this professor to anyone. She is crazy strict, for example.. You can't even use the restroom, if she even *thinks* you're looking at a cellphone she rants about no technology in class, and don't bother asking questions because she makes you feel like an idiot when she answers. She does handout notes, that's kinda nice I guess.
Bandla is actually a pretty nice lady, just not good at teaching accounting. She's pretty shy, so she doesn't engage the class at all during lecture - just merely reads through Powerpoints and does homework problems on the board. She goes fairly fast, so it can be hard to keep up. Just go to class, do your hw, read the book, and you'll be fine.
My favorite part about her class was how she did most of the homework questions in class. And the ones she doesn't cover, she opens a video tutorial of on the homework. She answers questions in class, but she does go fast in lecture. If you're already used to fast teachers, you'll be fine. Read the book for concepts. I had a study buddy, it helped
I'm pretty much a school god, never had to study for anything... I definitely had to study for this lady. Goes hella fast through the slides and lets class out late too. Would never take again. Don't sleep text or ditch class either
Professor Bandla is the best professor I have ever taken. She is very helpful and cares about the students. Moreover, the class is an easy A! She also has amazing SI students like Robert!!! He is hot too 3
She does a terrible job at explaining any material in depth. I learn more from the "help me solve this" button in the homework online than I do from class, BUT YOU CAN'T SKIP OR YOUR GRADE WILL SUFFER. The Accounting head said he "Hand-Picked" her to be a professor at UNT, but it seems like she doesn't know what she's doing. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.
Fantastic professor who makes lectures applicable to real world accounting. Her grading is black and white, so it's easy to see what you miss. Her lectures are relevant, organized, and she goes over every problem you need to do the tests effectively. Top 3 prof's at UNT.
This class requires a lot of effort on the student's part, so there really is no "easy" professor for this class. Professor Bandla spends class time well, usually working through problems which are very helpful for review and exam prep. Shes very knowledgeable about the material, and clearly enjoys both practicing and teaching accounting.
She does a really good job introducing the topics but in order to be successful, you need to reinforce them outside of class through practice and reading. She answers the questions to the best of her ability but I think she struggles handling students that are struggling with the material. She does a lot of practice problems and explains every step
out all the accounting professors for 3310, she is the best pick in my opinion. the class is suppose to be hard, so don't expect it to be a walk in the park. always go to class because she thoroughly explains how to approach a problem. take good notes & practice the homework problems (also take notes while using the help me button on hw)
Super hard class no doubt but also not the best professor for the job. She tends to speed through each chapter and acts confused when we do not understand her or ask for more help understanding. Go to SI 100% and you'll (most likely) pass. She also tends to be rude when you try to talk to her after class or in office hours
If you are looking to take accounting, do NOT take Madhuri Bandla. I would go to every class, every SI session for our section, visit her during her office hours once a week, and still wasn't enough. She didn't care about me on whether I passed or failed because "other students are passing the exams." A+ effort for a C letter grade, just a heads up
She's honestly great. Yes, accounting tends to be hard in general, but she does an excellent job at explaining things thoroughly. She can move fast, but does homework questions in class which helps a lot. She really wants you to succeed, and is inspiring! I usually hate accounting, but I loved this class. She is the best ACCT prof I've had.
She is hands down one of the best teachers in the department. Dedicate your time to this class and you'll do fine. Its TOUGH. I did really well in ACCT 2010, and just couldn't manage an A in this course. You'll learn so much though, its worth it to take her. Just pay attention in class and do the best you can outside of it and GO TO SI SESSIONS.
She does not care about her students. She fail you regardless of how much you try. She bases your entire grade off of your exams, not your effort. If you can avoid her, I recommend doing so. The people that have passed her class have had to take it twice, don't be mislead. Be prepared to learn accounting on your own, you won't learn from her!
Professor Bandla is overall a great professor but she grades her exams a little hard. Intermediate Accounting is not an easy class so be prepared to put in a lot of time and effort. You always have to be on top of everything you do in this class. She also gives real-life examples which makes this class a little more interesting.
Great professor overall! Class can be intimidating at first, but just do your hwk and actually try to understand the material instead of just memorizing it. Once you get behind on a chapter, it will be very hard to catch up since lectures are fast paced! 1st test was ok, 2nd test had a TON of materials covered, 3rd test was hard, final was BRUTAL.
Professor Bandla is tough. She was not easy in any way. However, Intermediate Accounting is a brutal subject so just be ready, no matter who you take it with. In my opinion, she taught the subject well. You have to be willing to put in the time on your own outside of class. I liked her. I just didn't like the subject. Overall I would recommend her.
She doesn't have great personality. But best choice if you really want to learn accounting.
Very difficult professor. She does not give test reviews. The test are long and brutal--many people do not finish. She assigns a ton of online homework. Only half of each test is multiple choice and she is an extremely tough grader. After every test, she has the class line up and each student must explain to her why we got the grade we got.
A great professor for accounting. I liked her class and learned few things.
Accounting 3110 is rough regardless, but Bandla is the best professor to take it with. If you put in the time and effort, you will learn ALOT. This isn't a class you can slack off on, so don't fall behind! She gives many resources, pick ones that you learn best from, and be sure to do all the homework (without cheating.)
Difficult, work hard and complete every assignment and you can pass. Spend A LOT of time studying for test; they're really difficult and you aren't given a review, a lot of teaching yourself. Very time consuming course could be very difficult if you have a job as well.
I enjoyed having Professor Bandla for Intermediate Accounting. The subject in general is tough and I think she does a good job at teaching it. Attend lectures and SI sessions, practice HW questions, and READ YOUR TEXTBOOK.
She is very though!!! No review for any exam!!! Doesnt sympathize with anybody!!!
If you're taking intermediate accounting, take Bandla's class. This class will be hard no matter who you take but Bandla does an amazing job teaching you the material. She teaches the material very quickly but she will also do some questions that are almost identical to the HW in class. Her extra credit doesn't seem like much but it will help.
There is a LOT of work, I did well on every assignment. It's difficult to remember all the info for the tests. The first test I did ok, the second test I didn't pass, and I did ok on the final. I got a 77 in the class. It seems very difficult to get a B and impossible to get an A in this class unless you literally have nothing else to do but study
The homework takes hours. She teaches the info way to fast, and doesn't allow you to use review for exams. She goes way too fast on the power points, it is impossible to take notes. I hate going to her class. Accounting used to be fun until I went to this class. Do not take her. She expects you to only study for her class and only her class.
Being a different business major other than accounting, it is really hard to be in this class. She is very condensing, and I hate showing up for this class. Tests are way too long for the amount of time you have. Some people don't even finish, it is terrible.
Being a different business major other than accounting, it is really hard to be in this class. She is very condensing, and I hate showing up for this class. Tests are way too long for the amount of time you have. Some people don't even finish, it is terrible. wow
She cares about her students and learning. She would always call on people in the front row it was always my friend and I. Doesn't give test reviews but SI's help a lot to prepare. Doesn't give any info about the final or what to specifically study there's over 50 free response problems she can choose from. Also no help on multiple choice no examp.
She does not give test reviews, she does not give a final review, she expects you to study for only her class. Her test are very long , she is a tough grader homework are absurdly long. If you can take a different professor I STRONGLY recommend you do so.
Honestly this was the worst professor i have ever had. She does not mention anything about test dates and hands out no reviews. Tests are very difficult. Bandla races through the material and her Si does a better job in teaching. TAKE ANOTHER PROFESSOR.
Took her this semester because it was the only time slot available. The class test average went like this: 1st: 67 ; High 97 2nd : 60 ; High 97 3rd: 62 ; High 97 The average for the final was a whopping 54.6 TAKE ANOTHER PROFESSOR , no reviews, test are very long ; . She is very smart but she does not understand students. Good luck if you have her
I've read a lot of the reviews about Professor Bandla, and I truly do not think they are fair. She is probably the smartest person I have met to be honest. She has SO much industry experience and gives great examples in class. This class is very fast-paced (lots of studying on your own), only 2 tests and a final, but Bandla is totally worth taking!
One of the worst instructors I have ever had. She would give homework assignments and exams over topics she hardly covered in class. Exams were extremely difficult and excessively long. Only answered emails after I emailed her multiple times. She would tell me just to get answers wrong on the homework if I emailed her not understanding something.
Worst professor I've ever had. I didn't like her attitude, her lectures were terrible and I learned more from the book. She knows the material but teaching clearly isn't her strong suit. Not a bad person overall, but she is so out of touch with what students need to succeed that she does very little to improve the pass rate of an difficult class.
Her tests are extremely hard. It will definitely mess up your gpa.
It makes me so sad to read these reviews about Professor Bandla because she has been one of my favorite professors in my college career. Her class is 100% doable. Yes, you will have to work HARD. Yes, it is harder than the previous accounting classes but what do you expect? You are getting into upper level courses. Would definitely take her.
Class was rough, the homework and class material barely is on the exams. Plus you cant ask any questions because she is trynna race through the material. its definitely doable but u got to put in more hours than a class requires.
I took 2 accounting classes before this one and this one is the hardest so far I believe it's only because the prof made it 1000 times harder. A ton of homework, quizzes every week. Exams are very difficult. NO CURVES at all. She does not always respond to student questions.
I took this class online and it was awful. She only teaches on zoom once a week for 1 hour, where she just does practice problems. She doesn't teach the material or any of the concepts. She puts very little effort into the class. You have to TEACH YOURSELF everything. I highly recommend making a study group and go to si session.
This has been the HARDEST class I have taken at UNT by far. I would highly recommend a different teacher, she has pre recorded lecture, literally about 10, 30 minute videos for each chapter PLUS a mandatory lecture. Save yourself and get a different teacher, if you cant, straight up take it next semester. Save. Your. Self.
Doesn't do a good job of explaining material. Didn't respond to mine or other students' emails before the exams, and the class average on exams was around a 60% with no curve because she doesn't teach well or care enough to help with a curve.
Worst class i've taken at uni. RIP to any students that decide to take this prof. this one big nightmare online and i pity anyone that has to do it because i have never put in so much work for a class. The test avgs were in the 50/60 range. little to no curves/xtra credit AT ALL. the other 1 star reviews are 100% accurate. IT'S A SELF TAUGHT CLASS!
Terrible Professor. Does not explain nor really help. She turned a twice a week 1.5 hours lectures to online 1 hour lecture. Someone in the class reported her to the dean and she contradicted everything the student said, terrible professor, avoid at all costs. Doesn't give reviews or say anything about exams.
One of the worst courses I have taken at UNT so far. she doesnt teach well at all, she wants the students to know the material before hand also she will put 30 to 40 mins lectures in a lecture that you dont understand and this course gets harder day by day.
Barely covered material in class, blamed the class for failing averages despite poor coverage of material. Used own star pupil's high grade as a shield and excuse to not give curves on tests with overwhelming failing averages.
Only available option for intermediate accounting at UNT. Easily one of the worst classes I have ever taken. She has "MANDATORY" zoom meeting which is insane that she's giving us a grade for attending. First of all I pay for this class and shouldn't receive a grade based upon listening to her dry ass Zoom meetings that I learned nothing from
If anyone who need to take 3110, PLS DO NOT PICK THIS PROF! Test and HW are totally 2 different things. There are very few question that might be on your HW, but mostly you don't even know where it is from. I prefer you pick any other professor EXCEPT her. Just hard to say how your heart broken after every exam and you review really hard for it.
Took her because she was the only option to take online. I can't say I learned a thing from this class, lectures are dry and don't help at all, prepare to get surprised on every test. There's no reason by Professor Bandla should be teaching this class.
Do not listen to the negative reviews of Prof. Bandla. She wants her students to succeed and provides more than enough resources to do great in her class, including multiple extra credit opportunities. Exams cover the big picture concepts she emphasizes in lectures and a portion of questions are directly from the homework. She is a great professor.
It's obvious that she is smart and knows what she's talking about, but not good at teaching to student's. Especially online. Tests were 40% of your grade and insanely hard to pass. You basically had to teach yourself. She made us watch her lecture vids before the mandatory zoom meeting where she wouldn't cover the lectures. Don't recommend at all
AWFUL. STAY AWAY. YOU'LL THANK ME LATER!
Crazy workload for homework. The hardest course I have ever had in UNT. There is no way you can catch up with her without previewing. Want to learn? Choose her! Want to pass? Avoid her!
Her lectures are good. The student instructor lectures are really helpful too. The homework is necessary to understand how to apply the concepts. The exams are multiple choice and problem solving. Make an "A" on the first exam so the rest of the class is less stressful. She gives a fair amount of extra credit opportunity too.
This is the worst class I have ever taken at UNT It made me want to drop out and never come back to university. She does not teach anything and her zoom classes are dry and she blasts through the material just to say she did it. Does not respond to emails and her tests are random each time. Doesnt matter what you studied or how hard you will cry
1% away from making a B in this course, but she is still an amazing professor nonetheless. Read the textbook and take good notes on the lecture videos before class, the videos are WAY more helpful than the actual lecture. Also print out the powerpoint slides and take notes as you read. Your grade is the result of the amount of effort you put in!
Okay guys this is not a biased review, listen to me closely or your GPA will pay the price. I took 2010, 2020 and 96+ in both. This class however, she basically reads off the PowerPoint, does not add much and breezes through the material. Each email I send takes 1 week of response time. Genuinely bad at explaining things. Take Neel, just trust me.
DO NOT TAKE HER if you want clear explanation on work. She works problems out on a word document and it gets confusing. She also goes too fast, and when you have a questions, she makes you feel stupid if you are wrong. I am basically reteaching myself everything for difficult homework. Tests are 75% of grade. Most people dropped her. I wish I did.
She does not care about any student's mental health. She does not even respond to emails at all. Very careless and hard. Does not know how to teach at all. Bright smart women but not a good professor. She looks down at her students like they are stupid for not knowing something.
In each class, the professor would rush through notes without any breathing room barely explaining any of the content. you're expected to read an incredibly long and boring textbook while also completing tedious homework each week. This class takes much more effort than any class at UNT I've taken so far and could be taught better by a diff prof.
Please take another professor. I took two different classes, two different topics by her, both are in low B high C area. I am an A-/B+ student. The lectures are very hard to follow and while I have no doubt she has mastery of the material she does not know how to transfer it. She would be great where she doesn't have to explain anything to anyone.
This may be one of the worst courses I have ever taken. I went to every class and did every homework assignment and am still worried about my grade. She talks way too much without stopping to make sure the students understand. She assumes we already know the material. I tried hard to understand this subject in her class, but it felt impossible.
How this professor is still teaching is beyond me. Her lectures were terrible and her method of teaching is impracticable. I barely grazed by with an A by the grace of God and all-day study sessions on the weekends. This class has actually traumatized me. Her lectures/resources were of no help to actually learn the material. Find someone else.
If you can, take another professor. Lectures were rushed all the time. Explanations were lack luster and made the person asking feel even more confused. Test averages were always below passing and had only one curve of three points. The absolute hardest class I have ever taken. This class took a couple years off of my life.
I'm a 4.0 acct major. I prepared for the exam a week in advance. Library everyday- hour+. I redid the HW, reviews, practices, made flashcards over the videos. I got a 57 on the test. She doesn't give a review/curve/drop an exam. I'm dropping ASAP. Avoid her, take it at a different college over the summer, her class is not worth the stress/GPA tank.
I think Prof Bandla is very knowledgeable but she teaches as if we know the material already. She gives out paper note packets for each chapter, but I do not find them that helpful. Hw takes superrrr long to complete, like several hours. Do the hw practice because it is the same as the hw. Exams are just hw and quiz problems, so go over that.
Regardless of the professor, ACCT 3110 will be a difficult course. In my opinion, much of your success depends on your work outside the class, not the professor. I thought Bandla did a good job. To succeed: read the textbook before class, take notes in lecture, keep a constant study schedule (ex. flashcards), and use the accounting lab if needed.
didn't like walking out of exams feeling like I was assaulted every time. over 80% of the class failed every exam. not the professor you want to take for this class, save yourself the misery. exams overloaded with content. I assure you any other accounting professor will be better then her. have mercy on the future student's souls
I'm a 4.0 student and even though this class was difficult, it's manageable. Tests are just like the hw and the quizzes. Study those and take good notes on the lecture and you will be fine. Study the hw solutions that she'll post, quizzes, and concept pages. Participate in class and don't be afraid to get answers wrong. It's part of learning.
This class will difficult no matter who you take it with, it's not a hard class if you just use the MBC demos and homework assignments for studying.
This class will be difficult regardless of the professor. The three hours you spend with the professor are not enough; you must review outside of class. Read the text before class and use the lecture to review. For exams, focus on understanding the HW/quizzes. Some show up directly, but you're more likely get the same topics asked differently.
Professor Madhuri is an amazing person! I hated ACCT 2010 but she made ACCT 2020 very easy. I passed most of my exams and homework was easy too. If you need tutoring, she won't hesitate to help you. You do need to study to pass but its not difficult to do that. Definitely would take her class again.
Don't take this professor if possible, take literally anyone else. This class is very difficult no matter who teaches it but she makes it so much worse. She barely spends any time in class explaining the complicated concepts and you have to teach yourself the material. Be prepared to spend 4-5+ hours outside of class studying per week.
Awesome professor and gives good feedback. Will help you every step of the way if needed.
I got a 58 on the first exam and a 90 on the second. It is possible to succeed in this class, but you have to practice every single day basically and prioritize it over your other classes. For exams practice the MBC "rework and review" over and over. She curves maybe 3 pts but the rest is on you. End of semester there is an easy group project.
This class is very challenging(It's considered a weed-out class). Bandla is knowledgeable but not good at teaching. The material is broad but shallow(a mile wide inch deep). The exams are based on MBC and extra credit is helpful. Take this class with another professor if you can. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!!! (Look at other reviews for confirmation).
Don't miss a class! You'll be confused the next time you're there. She gives handouts to work on in class, but doesn't do all of them, leaves you confused when you do the hw. MBC is not like MyLab; does not tell you what you did wrong. She also takes forever to respond, make sure to send a follow-up email to expect a response back.
Intermediate I is always going to be hard, but she could have prepared us better for the questions we would potentially come across. The homework and exams are a jump in difficulty from what you are taught in class. At least she gave us solutions and a cheat sheet for the final, but it still wasn't enough and I failed almost every exam. Got a B tho
At first, I was worried about taking her class, but I was completely wrong. She is really nice and replies to all your emails as soon as possible. If you attend all her classes, complete all the homework on MBC, and review it before exams, you can easily earn an A.
Failed this course the first time I took it with her but I take the fall on that. Second semester I took her, I realized how much her lectures were helpful. I was picking up concepts with ease. This is overall a difficult class and she explained the materially throughly. She was always very accesible for office hours. This class is very exam heavy.
Professor Bandla is great! I took her for ACCT2020 spring semester and it was honestly one of my easier classes that semester. Everyone in my class complained about how hard it was and how she was unable to teach, but i experienced none of that. She makes it very easy to communicate with her and is able to answer questions thoroughly.
She moves very quickly and we go over a lot so she doesn't go into very deep detail about the concepts. I rewatched all the lectures and redid all the homework and still fail the exam and about half the class failed all the exams and so about half dropped the class. If you can get someone better then do it but if not just get ready to work.
Intermediate is hard regardless. She does move fast in lectures but posts them on zoom. I failed al but one of the exams and still managed to pass. She gives some extra credit which helps. Only thing helpful for the exams is redoing the homework until you dont need to use your notes to complete them.
Lots of easy group projects. The professor was okay, but is my least favorite acct professor. I had messaged her to ask for help with one question of a project, because it wasn't in our textbook. She told me she couldn't help me because it wouldn't be fair to the other students. She didn't even tell me where I could look for the answer.
She moves fast in lectures and it's hard to keep up. A decent amount of EC is offered and really helped me keep my A. Group projects weren't hard and kind of a waste of time. Best way to prep for exams is to rework the homeworks over and over again. The exam reviews weren't very helpful also. This class requires a lot of outside work to get an A.
3 exams! By far the worse teacher ever if you're reading this it's too late Take the other prof they will teach you concepts not generalize it and ask you other questions on the exam Her spot evaluation was like 50% which believe it or not was right around the exam average of her class Oh and she won't answer questions in class “we don't have time”
I would say a lot of the reviews on here are sour that they did not study effectively for the exams. Simply doing the reading and repeating the homework will guarantee a B+ for this class and 3110. I passed every exam she's given throughout my time here at UNT. Note that studying a week before the exam will help a lot.
Difficult subject matter taught at light speed but clear and understandably if you actually pay attention. This professors class requires studying and practice even outside of lectures. There's pretty much no getting around it simply because of coursework. Fair grading especially if you do things on time.
I was scared to take this prof because of the bad reviews but she was nowhere near as bad as they make her seem. She gives out handouts with problems that you follow along with each class which were super effective imo. Don't miss class- you'll be confused and the handouts are identical to the hw. It's gonna be a tough class no matter who you take.
She really isn't all that bad yall. Read the textbook and do some notes before class. Do the online homework and study it for exams. There's one group project but it's really easy and some extra credit is available too.
One of the worst professors you can ever have. Doesn't explain topics well, Makes the tests you have super hard, and gives out 3 points of extra credit and acts like it's going to fix everything. Avoid at all costs!
