He is so cute, funny, smart and incredibly entertaining
This is a great professor. He is really entertaining and wants his students to succeed. I would highly recommend him to all education majors who have to take Human Geography.

yeah, i dont know what in the blue hell everyone else is smoking, but this dude is horrible for geography of Non Western Cultures.
He is just terrific--he seems very quiet, but watch out!!! And he will do anything to help his students.
Nice guy, no attendance policy, lets you makeup quizes, funny, esp if your respectful to him and talk to him

I've taken him for 3 classes, he was awesome. the expressions on his face last summer when the stupid girl would ask a question were priceless.
Any professor that talks about bong rips, doing opium, and shows pictures of keg stands is ok in my book. Rao is the man!
loved his class. feild trips to hindu and buddhist temples and pizza party! helps out if you have q's. learn so much too.

He's pretty cool, the tests are okay. I suggest not buy the book bc you never use it and it costs over 100 bucks. It's a boring class but he's funny so that helps. He does postpone quizzes and tests alot! :)
Non Western Geography. Very easy class, and the lectures were pretty interesting. Wicked scale on exams.

his tests areimpossible& hes not helpful at all! He doesnt take attendance so its not a big deal if you miss a class considering no one learns anything anyway its no big deal. Doesnt offer any guidance and doesnt really cares if you pass or fail.
Everyone is very disrespectful to Dr. Rao in this class. Everyone leaves early and talks over him. People complain about doing work, suck it up, and welcome to college! Good class.

Madhu is the best, nicest guy you'll ever meet, tests can be kinda tough but if you study they're no problem.
prof. rao is ausome. people in the class talk over him and its hard to listen to him while people dont care about being there. As long as you do your work and pay attention your in good shape.
Good old Rao. His tests are insane, especially when he throws current world events into the test that happend the night before. You can sit in his class and chill out, but make sure you take all the notes, even the ones he writes on the projector.
whoever said that prof.rao is difficult probably never studied. he gives study guides, goes over basically everything thats going to be on the exam all you have to do is STUDY highly recommend him for the serious stdents who wants to learn something

Book= waste of money Class= waste of time Failing the test because he went over 1/2 of it=priceless .... if you are forced to take him at least save the cash and don't buy the book.

well sometimes he gets lost in what he is talking about and stops in the miffle of a sentence and goes onto something else. Study his packets becasue his test are insane if you dont pay attention to what they are on. and he loveeesss current events, but you dont need the book at all, so dont buy it!

Good dude and pretty funny but tests come out of nowhere and are really tough, he talks funny and makes me laugh though, gotta love it
nice guy, but gives hard test.The material for them comes out of no where so even if you spend 50 hours studying there's a good chance you only know about half the test.Otherwise easy class....just make sure you show up! He notices.
class is not too boring, but even if you study for the tests, you will never know the answers, they are so complicated. but somehow even if you do bad on the the tests, doing good on the homework assignments and showing up to class will get you a decent grade.

His tests are INSANELY hard.. i would study for 2 days and read the chapters and notes and NOTHING on the tests seemed familiar to me at all. However if you do all the homework assignments and show up to class you end up with a good grade. He also scales all the tests.
The test are kinda hard, but he scales them. the cultural stuff is easy and there is usually a question about it on the test. The current event stuff is boring cuz he summarizes instead of you reading it. other than that it he's a funny guy.

He's a nice guy. He has a thick accent so be prepared. His tests aren't too hard if you pay attention and look over your notes. And be prepared for "what is in the news today?"
He is a nice guy, but he is all over the place and extremely unclear about tests. The tests are easy, but you never know what is going to be on them, even if he tells you ahead of time (test reviews are a waste of time). All in all not too bad, but if there is someone else take the other.

Good guy, easy class. Skipped alot still got a b+. tests are easy, just talk in his class and make it interesting and it will be fine. Always check NYTIMES.COM for the news he'll ask for it.

He is Indian, but you cna understand him. You take 3 tests, all multi choice, even the final is (non cummulative), tries to be funny and lets you out early on occasion
Normally I like geography/non-western civilizations, but this guy is terrible. Pretty much a stupid GER in which you can get away with missing class and BS your way through tests/assignments.
Rao is a very fun professor. He makes a lot of funny jokes and tries to keep us all awake for the 8am. He has an indian accent but it's easy to understand.His tests are kind of hard w/ a lot of multiple choice q's. his projects are very easy, though. he gives pretty good notes for each chapter; i recommend taking him for human geography.
Not the best teacher i've ever had.
A lot of people disliked him but they were mostly just dumb. Teaches about current events and it is interesting. Knows a lot of random interesting facts. Cuts a lot of people breaks, even when they don't deserve it.
geography of the global south. DO NOT take it with this man if you can help it. Strong accent and you can barely understand him half the time. Did not even teach about GEOGRAPHY half the time either. Tests were very hard because there were some things he did not teach on them. Can be funny at times but I would not recommend this teacher to anyone

Perhaps one of the worst professors i have ever encountered here at BSC. Class time is unorganised and useless he never makes sence and is very hard to understand. Most of the time he is just talking about nothing and never comes to a point. Tests are HARD! usually covers obscure things somtimes he stuff you havent gone over yet. AVOID AT ALL COSTS
I think he is a good professor, This is college and he is not going to babysit anyone. I think that he can be a little hard to understand but he is more then willing to go over what he says. He cuts alot of people breaks even when they havent shown up all semester. If you are looking for an easy A keep going wanna learn take him.
Tests are impossible to pass even though they are multiple choice, they are never on the material he gives you. Cannot understand a word he says because of his accent. Good luck.

I had him for Human Geography, he's not too bad, he has an accent that takes some getting used to. A little on the boring side, lots of note taking. Tests weren't too bad, sometimes there were things on it we never went over in class, just be sure to keep up with the reading, you'll probably be fine.
AWFUL.. This class was hard to understand even if you did try. There was no way of getting a good grade on the test even if you tried. His English was hard to understand, which made the class even harder.. if you dont have to take this class dont do it. Going to every class does not help. You have to do really go on the projects to do decent.
his english is a little hard to understand but overall not a bad class he is kinda funny sometimes it will surprise you. you do have to study for tests but if you know a lot about the world and watch the news you should do fine. text book is very helpfull too

wanted to drop the first day. so glad i didnt! he was my favorite professor last semester. accent is difficult at first but you get used to it. all test questions come from book make sure you study. cracks jokes all the time and scales the tests. hes awesome! highly reccomend for human geography! i hate history and i loved this class
Rao is not the most exciting teacher, but his class is not challenging - IF you pay attention. So many people in my class complained about grades, but spent the entire class texting. Pay attention, ask questions, review notes + you'll be fine.
Online Geography of the developing world. Pretty easy overall. 8 online tests that were 100 questions each. They take a while to do but aren't too difficult. I'd recommend this class.
I'm taking the web class and it is so simple that I am afraid I am doing something wrong.There are 5 quizzes 100 questions each. No other assignments, he isn't prompt with returning emails, a must take if you want an easy A.

Took this class online. Had to pay $75 to access the tests he assigns on WileyPlus. Consists of 5 tests with 100 multiple choice questions. He's not too helpful, but easy A.
This class has a lot of information that you will need to know for tests. There are 3 tests, 100 questions each. tests are really hard and you have to know everything he says. just pay attention, dont miss a class, and take lots of notes.
This class was very hard. He was rude and not very helpful. His tests are hard, 80-100 questions and include details we didn't even discuss in class. I wouldn't recommend this professor to anyone.

Very Hard to understand. Takes him a while to try and get his point across with his lectures. Tests are very long and sometimes contain stuff you won't even go over in class.
Sometimes he could be pretty disrespectful with poor manners but this class was easy. We barely had homework and class everyday is taking notes. I would not recommend buying the book because all of the essential information is in the notes. I would not skip this class regularly because he keeps track.
This class was difficult because of the way he ran it. The lectures were not good and clearly disorganized. His tests are unfair in my opinion. The book is definitely necessary if you want to get a decent grade in the class. I really would not recommend taking this class unless you absolutely have to.
Easiest online class ever. You have about 4 discussion questions (no research or evidence required in your response) and 4-5 tests online which you can google the answers to while taking it. 4 page final paper on a topic you choose. Take this class for an easy A. At some points it was like I wasn't even taking it because we didn't do anything!
The class is easy with very little homework and two small take home projects. Every classs you just copy notes off the board. There are two tests not including the final and they're only based on the chapters of notes taken. You will need to have and read the textbook because he takes questions straight out of the book that may not be in the notes.
He is very nice but his lectures are very boring and his accent is very thick. His exams are very difficult if you don't enjoy the class, but he does scale grades. There was only 2 homework assignments. Also his class notes are very disorganized and hard to follow.
Took him online, very easy. 4 discussion questions that was basically your own opinion and about real life matters. 4 tests, and one 4 page paper on your own topic. As long as you do all of it, should be an easy A!
Made us pay an extra $100 for WileyPlus to take the 5 tests. These tests would be IMPOSSIBLE in a classroom. Only take him online because you can just look up the answers straight from quizlet. includes 5 100 question tests, usually take over an hour to finish, & weekly discussion
I had Dr. Rao for Human Geography in Fall 2016, and I thought he was an excellent teacher! He was there to help me when I was in the wrong, and he was able to help me get to the grade I wanted. I recommend this professor to anyone who likes to learn about human geography!
He is very nice, he's hard to understand because of his accent but is always cracking jokes. His class is mostly lectures and note taking and there are only three tests for the whole semester that aren't very hard. There is little easy assignments here and there but no homework a pretty easy class if u dont mind lectures
He's an okay professor. I had him for human geo. Every class is lectures and they can get really boring and long. the tests make no sense and the notes you take in class wont help you but he does scale the tests so that will help you. you have to go to two guest lectures and write about them. hes not a bad professor he's just boring
Hes so sweet and nice! We had 3 exams(including final not cumulative) go to at least one event and write about it or, write a term paper! I did the event but, I didnt do well on the first test so I had a C and asked if I could the term paper to boost my grade(extra credit) and he said yes! I got a B+. Hes nice show up to class and take notes!
Didn't know the professor's / class name the entire semester, because he only emailed the class 4 times. Doesn't post any original work, everything comes from the book. Test questions are all online. For the final paper, it's nearly impossible to write, because you aren't taught ANYTHING. Oh and test days take hours to complete (106+ questions).
If youre bad at geography, avoid him like the plague. His accent is very thick and difficult to understand most of the time. Also, dont bother buying the book, you wont use it. Would not recommend

Online class and it was SO easy. Half the time I forgot I was in it, there's barely any work. A discussion post once a month and 1 comment on someone else's. Term paper at the end that is really easy and boosts your grade! Only take this class online because you can look up the answers to exams- they would be impossible in class.
this class is perfect for someone with a busy schedule. there are only 5 tests that are pretty long but everything is online. with each test is one discussion that to post. instruction on them are specific and easy to follow. very easy to reach through email and replies quickly. term paper due at the end on your choice of topic. REMEMBER DUE DATES
Awful and unpredictable tests that are 100 questions long. Sometimes the material will be online, but often the questions wont be online somewhere. Not many assignments besides the test, so if you fail good luck. Beware to free up a lot of time when taking his test because it will be needed.
Took online. No homework. I went weeks without even thinking about this class. 5 discussions asking for your opinion on various topics that are due before the exams. 3 online exams that were very easy and spread out across the semester. Did not use the textbook. Easy A.
Good man but not so much teacher. Hates using blackboard and refuses to tell us our grades and is very vague. When asked about our grades he just says "everyone is passing". He's pretty funny and laid back though. I was pleasantly surprised on how much I liked the course. He's a good guy but I definitely think he curves/fibs grades. Would takeagain
DO NOT TAKE AN HONORS CLASS WITH THIS MAN! The tests are soooooo long and he only gives you two days to them, I am talking 6+ hours long, and I am a fast test taker, there are not a lot of assignments, they are just SO dense
Good guy overall, he wants you to succeed. Fun course for people who give a crap about geography including myself. He responds well to emails however he does not use blackboard which I don't like. He likes to brag about money which I don't care about because Im in a good financial situation but could come across as obnoxious to others. 4/5 overall.
I took GEOG374. great guy, very knowledgeable, but extremely vague and mysterious when it came to the assignments he assigned, and the ones he said he would assign but never did. the syllabus was kind of useless he just made up what we were doing the day of. forgiving with deadlines. HUGE final project. kooky guy
So I was in his online Honors Geog Class, and while he was an alright professor that gives good feedback on the discussions and grades them fairly, the class was a different story. The test took me about 10 hours total over a few days (and there are a few of them to do over the semester) The tests are outdated and awful. He gives extensions though.
