She is very helpful will always be there when you need help. She is very strict on grammar, seeing how she is an English teacher. Grades very well on papers, writing assignments are very easy and enjoyable to write, no boring topics or readings. She sees you put effort in she will help you pass the class. (Very easy class)

The BEST instructor ever!!! She goes above and beyond for her students. She is strict when it comes to grammar but it is an English class! she make class fun and presents the material in a way all students can understand. I learned a lot from her and wish I could have her for all of my English classes. Ms. D ROCKS!!

Best English teacher ever !! Yes, she is a hard grader but she only does it in oder for you to be successful. Mrs. A is a very positive and hialrous teacher always interacts with the class and helps you in many ways she can. She can be strict but also gives many oppotunties to her students for extra credit. SHE IS THE BEST TAKE HER CLASS !! I RECOMMEND IT. If you want to learn and have fun at the same time she is the teacher for you !!

This professor is one of the most energetic and intelligant teachers I have ever had. She is a tough grader but it helps you become a better writer. She is very honest and will never turn down a student in need of personal or school help. She does take a long time to grade but that is because she is a perfectionist. The only reason I see for someone to not like this class is they do not like to be challanged.

I absolutely adore Mrs. A!! She is very approachable and makes everyone feel more like a friend than a student. She is a very particularly tough grader but only because she genuinely cares for her students and wants them to succeed. She understands this about herself and from the beginning gives plenty of opportunities for extra credit.

If you are looking for your grade point average to lower then take this class. You have numerous writing assignments (which I was fine with) but she grades slow and by the time you get your papers back a month has passed. She grades rough on all writing assignments-keep in mind this is a freshman english class. I expected way more out of this class

Awesome teacher, but pretty tough grader. She gives MANY extra credit options. Took a six week course and did many papers often, but they aren't that bad. Makes us write weekly journals.

She is a slow grader and will remind you every time she has a chance. She will guide you step by step to write a successful paper, and will always update her calendar. At first she seemed stuck up because she would ALWAYS mention she had a masters, and blah, blah, blah. Eventually she stopped saying it. I highly recommend her!

There is no way you can't pass her class with an A because she gives out a LOT of extra credits which helps. She is a tough grader, but if you read and do your essays you will pass. I took her for both ENGL-1301 and ENGL-1302 and passed both classes with an A.

I had a few bumps in my road during her class. All I had to do was keep her informed and she gave a little slack. She's very easy to talk to and will definitely take her again. I did not do the extra credit, but will the next time !! She is a tough grader but with the extra credit you are sure to pass. Take advantage of it !!

I believe that she is one of the greatest professors that TCC has to offer, she is very loving and caring of all of her students and can easily communicate with you one on one. She lets you know of all of the extra credit opportunities so you can plan ahead and is just phenomenal over all

Ms. D is great! She spends hours making her classes interesting and valuable. She genuinely cares for the wellbeing of her students and wants you to learn. If you can follow instructions and do the reading, you'll pass. She doesn't have patience for ignorance so if you are looking for a "blow off class," this isn't it. If you care, she'll care.

I took her twice because she is clear and direct with what she tells you, she doesn't deviate from her syllabus. If it's on there then that is what you are doing, even her quizzes are on there. as long as you do the assignment and keep up with your syllabus there should be no reason why you can't pass. She gives lots of extra credit opportunities.

Ms. D is a wonderful teacher! She is always willing to help you, she's approachable, easy to talk to. She's still one of my favorite teachers and I don't even have her this semester. As long as you do the work and come to class prepared you will do fine. :) I love your face Ms. D!!

She is such a wonderful Teacher, she has such a heart for her students and loves to help. Be ready to get involved in her class, she loves to answer questions. Do your research, take her class seriously and you will have so much fun.

Ms. D is an amazing instructor who cares deeply for her students. As long as you follow her directions for everything you should pass. She gives reading quizzes everyday but they are not difficult as long as you read the required material. She has a strong passion for literature and it shows clearly through her lectures. Love her!

Best English teacher I've ever had. She is nice, approachable and gives great feedback if you take the time to ask. It's not an easy class but if you actually do the work it should be easy enough to get a good grade. I would absolutely recommend Ms. D!

Great teacher but don't expect a typical freshman class you will have to earn it. 6 weeks is not much time as she does not cut work load down but highly recommend during 16 week semester. She is quirky

Fantastic teacher! She makes class fun and the work is easy if you keep up with it. She has a detailed calendar that she won't deviate from unless absolutely necessary. She is a slow grader but gives students the option to come to her office and get the feedback they need for the next assignment.

She is honestly a great professor. She loves what she does and it shows. However, she does get emotional. She gives a good amount of quizzes and you seriously need to read to pass them. She's not tough at all, just do what she assigns and you're good! And do the extra credit she assigns!

Awesome teacher very funny. Cares deeply for her students and for literature. Come to class prepared for daily quizzes, do the assignments, get your extra credit vouchers, and you will pass with an A. I highly recommend taking Ms. D. She is amazing.

There is something you should know if you take her. She doesn't grade ANYTHING until the last week, this makes it difficult to know how to improve your next essays. It also keeps you from considering dropping the class because you won't know if you're going to pass or fail until the semester is over. She is very sweet and makes essays interesting.

Ms. D is a pretty good professor. She may come off as strict at first, but later you'll see she's not a bad person. She deeply cares abut her students as she always finish class by saying "I love you guys". Her papers are no joke however. She expects much out of you but she gives you lots of tips and outlines as well as a lot of extra credit.

Ms. D is the BEST. Be prepared to work, but at the end of the course you will have learned so much!

If you want a professor that will prepare you for University, Ms. D is the person to go to. She's pretty strict, but very understanding. She provides more than enough resources on how your essay should look like. Please take advantage of all the extra credit she offers cause it's a lot! I learned more from 1 semester than I did in all 4 yrs of HS!

Ms. D is awesome. She is the best professor I've had. Her class is tough but she'll teach you a lot. If you want to learn and you're willing to do the work then you will do well in this class. If you're looking for an easy A this isn't the class for you. She'll make you work for it but she truly cares about her students. She gave many extensions.

This class was definitely one of my top favorites. She makes the environment fun, easy to learn and has the sweetest soul. She is a tough grader but that helps you out entirely. I have already recommended her to plenty of my friends. I love her!

Ms.D is an amazing person, however if the way she teaches does not fit your learning style it may be tough. I did not have too much of a problem with her teaching but about half of my class did. She does not give much feedback on your papers until the end of the semester but in a way that made me a better writer. If you learn as you go, take Ms.D!

I love Ms. D. She challenges her students, not only did I leave her class a better writer, but I feel like I left being a better person in general. She loves people unconditionally and leads by example, I want to be Ms. D when I grow up.

Ms. D rocks your socks off! You may have to show up to class every day but you won't have trouble getting up and excited for it! I absolutely enjoy this class, if I weren't moving away I would constantly take her class over and over again. Because of a certain short story/play writing assignment, I realized I wanted to major in screenplay writing!

I have heard alot of students have problems with this professor and after taking her class I dont understand why they hate her so much she is one of the nicest professors I had ever taken and she is very funny. I only have two things,1 looking for an easy A this is not the class for you,worth it,2 dont expect for your grades to show up right away.

If you're not interested in writing and interpreting, Ms. D probably isn't for you. You can tell she's super into all forms of composition and rhetoric, and her goal is that you understand them comprehensively. She's organized, responsible, and super cool. She doesn't like having her efforts as a teacher disrespected, so do your assignments.

Mrs. D is an amazing professor! She does take grades in class so make sure you show up and there is a moderate amount of papers and we did do two group essay/presentation but they were really fun. Its an average comps 1 class but Mrs.D is so nice and funny I definitely recommend taking. I'm taking her for comp 2 thats how amazing she is!

Ms.D is one of the best teachers I have every taken. She very helpful if you need help, and here classes are not boring, she also very caring and very protective of her students. if you are going through something and if can effect your work, she very understanding.

Ms. Durapau is by far one of the best teachers you can take for English classes. Shes super relatable, makes sure you feel comfortable in her class and she makes the overall environment really relaxing. Just dont tick her off :)

I was worried about the literature class because English was not my native language. I got A at the end. It's not easy, but definitely doable. Ms D truly cared about her students and wanted us to succeed. 1 mid-term paper divided into smaller parts, 12 quizzes(multiple choice&group work),3 lowest scores were dropped and extra credits were offered.

Ms. D is an awesome prof. I took her for both ENGL 1301 and 1302. You have to write a few essays in both courses, but she gives you great feedback before the next essay is due. In both courses you have to do one group project but its super fun and everyone gets their own grade its not a group grade.

Ms. D is a wonderful teacher, always replies to any doubts even outside class. She always has great timing whenever she grades papers, homework or any assignments. She is very respectful towards everyone, it is a safe space with her. Always had time to help us, attendance is mandatory if you want to pass because she counts class participation.

Ms.D has been a really nice professor. She makes the class fun ,and also understandable overall she is always on top of everything. I recommend you to take her class, she is really sweet, but if you skip her class you will fail. Turn in your assignments to be able to pass. There is a couple essays, but every other comp class assign essays

The best teacher ever! She is interactive with the class and she is very respectful. The only way for you to fail this class if you do not follow instructions and do not show up to class. All of the bad star people have failing grades.

I took Ms. D for my first class in college, and it was a very nice experience. She is very caring and respectful- I always leave her class having a better day. She gives great feedback! It may take a while to get your grades back, but if you request/go to her office to get your paper graded she will do so then and there. I love her and this class.

Ms. D is a caring, involved teacher who wants to help her students. Her class is fun and interactive. Take notes, listen, attend most classes, and follow her clear cut assignment guidelines and you will do just fine. I took her Comp I class and I highly recommend. If you apply yourself, you'll greatly benefit. Not an easy A but work the effort.

She is not a bad teacher. She does put in grades really late and expects us to turn in our work on time but I guess I understand as she has to read a lot of papers. She gets off topic a lot but it is not that bad as she gets things done. Class cancels are pretty regular but I finished my work and made a good grade in class.

She's a great professor, only two tests most of your grades will be essays but as long as you get your papers checked at the reading writing lab you should be able to pass easily.

Having taken AP in HS, I thought her class was very easy. People call her class "hard" because she expects you to try. Just show up, do the reading, and write coherent essays. She did take awhile to grade and she did miss a lot of days but she had a lot of personal stuff going on this semester. Take her if you want to be somewhat challenged.

She's a very fun teacher, I really enjoyed taking her for comp one and two. Her assignments aren't as hard as you think they are. She's very understanding as well.

Best teacher ever and I appreciate them so much! Very caring, even has fidgets available for students who need them. Grades kind of hard/ makes you work for it but its definitely worth the amazing teacher.

Ms. D is the best! She doesnt require your attendance and is very understanding if you cannot attend a class as long as you shoot her an email! She has all of her assignments posted ahead of time so you can work ahead if you like and she is always willing to answer any questions! As long as you do your work and listen to her lectures youll thrive

This was my first time taking an English course, and it was not as bad as I thought it was going to be. She was very clear on her instructions and how she wanted to papers written. She took time out of class to walk around and help any student that needed it multiple times throughout the semester. Overall I really enjoyed her teaching style

Best professor at TCC, she genuinely cares about all her students and takes time to get to know us all individually. The negative reviews are miserable internet trolls who can't get over the fact that they were too dumb to pass comp 1 on their own. 100/10 would take again!

I would say this is a bit more of an independent learning class, which I love. Do not be discouraged though. Ms. D is always willing to help you with any questions that you might have. If you pay attention, ask questions, and actually use the resources that are available to you you'll do fine. 10/10 teacher & love her energy. Would take her again.

She doesn't require attendance but has classwork grades, so go to class for writing help and to be able to ask questions. She makes her expectations VERY clear, and she goes over them in class; if we have questions, she answers them. Honestly, if you go to class, follow instructions, and turn in the assignments, you'll pass with a good grade!

Excellent professor, cares for students and gives leeway when she makes mistakes. Clear assignments and willing to help you specifically if you ask, puts her students as a first priority.

English classes stress me out but I honestly liked Ms. D. She is a slow grader but partly bc she gives extensions. The whole class got one on 2 of the 3 papers. Rubrics are clear, gives samples & goes over things in class. Some group seminars graded on input, but even if you don't talk you get a 60, including the final. I spoke once and got a 90.

Ms. D was absolutely amazing as a professor, I 10 out of 10 recommend! If you pay attention, participate, and follow instructions it's smooth sailing. She is very caring and gives excellent feedback.

Don't want a tough teacher?, don't want to read? don't want to be inspired? then don't take this teachers class, get back on your phone and zombie out. If composition is not of value to you, get another teacher and skate. Like a book that starts weird and you're not sure of but you stick with it and it ends up being your favorite.
