Magda is a really tough grader! There are many different professors for this (Ed Media) class and you should definitely chose one of them over Magda! Plus, sometimes she's really hard to understand.
She is semi-hard to understand, due to her accent. I feel like they are very welcoming to questions, but then when you ask them, they make you feel stupid for asking them. Hope its better with you!
Take this class with her husband if possible. She is kind of hard to understand with her accent and she grades kind of hard. When you ask her a question, she makes you feel kind of dumb for asking and that you should just know it. I would recommend taking it from someone else.
Magda is a tough grader and her accent is sometimes hard to understand but overall she was friendly and nice.
Tough grader. Attendance required!! Overall very nice however. Very pretty and cool accent, but still able to understand easily.
This class is required at UNI. Magda was an easy grader. Mostly because she got really behind in grading and ended up giving everyone A's. She has a really annoying accent and is kind of ditzy, but I got an A and didn't really mind her.
Good teacher and knows her stuff. Cute accent.
What can I say, my least favorite teacher ever. I guess the only good lesson i will take from this class is that she is everything i do NOT want to be as a teacher. Projects are graded strictly on specific requirements and content, not on quality. She is not very helpful, i usually ended up doing my best to avoid contact with her during class.
She always answered all my questions (and I had a lot of them). She knows a lot. I came to the class with almost no skills and now I am buying a laptop for Christmas! Thanks!Happy Thanksgiving
I was excited about the content of the class.I heard great things about the course, unfortunately I had heard them from those who had taken the class with her husband. This lady is overcompensating for something(major attitude). She isnt helpful to say the least.I will avoid her at all costs despite my desire to be a part of the UNI Ed.Tech program .
She is not good at getting grades back in a timely manner. The class is easy but her class is very slow paced if you know anything about computers. She's an easy grader, but the grading scale is so high that if you miss 45 points you won't get an A.
You must show up to all the classes, attendance is a major part of your grade. Be prepared for a lot of tedious and really pointless work outside of class. Grades take FOREVER to get back, and the grading is not done on the effort put into the project, but the fact that you actually followed the guidelines.
She is a HORRIBLE Prof. This class was on topic maybe 3 times. Otherwise you spend time watching TEDTalks that have nothing to do with the class. And one big project is not graded. Also, you wont know where your grade stands because she doesn't grade anything until the class is over for the semester.
This is the 3rd class I've taken with her and I have hear the same material three times. I can barely keep my eyes open in her night classes so I wouldn't take them. TERRIBLE TEACHER
Strengths: Visual learning, hands on techniques, understanding of individuals. She's flexible with some assignments. She?s very computer savvy. Weakness: There are ppl who take this class to have as a university elective, so class needs to be little more prepared for non-education majors.
Magda's section was always very fun and interesting. She is a great instructor and always has story to relate our content to ourselves and to our future in a classroom. Go Magda!
She is very interested in student learning, and always asks for our input and engages us in class discussions. I love this teacherâ??s teaching style, and plan on taking a class from her next semester.
Magda is a nice person and you can tell she really knows her stuff, but she isn't very good at grading your stuff in a timely manner. She is really hard to understand with her accent also. I don't really recommend taking this with her if you are looking for an easy class.
I took Ed Tech and Design online with her and it really wasn't as bad as everybody says. The only thing I have had trouble with so far are the quizzes and they don't take up that much of your grade. Also, she has been grading stuff at a good speed and I've been getting 100's on the projects. Really not that bad of a class.
A lot of group work and a lot of work, but I actually learned a lot.
Ed Tech and Design- Terrible teacher. When I am in class paying attention I never understand anything she says. Im usually a high B student I thought her as a teacher was hard. She expects to much from her class. I would not recommend her.
Terrible teacher, basically online. I would never recommend taking this teacher, she is very confusing and I cannot understand her. The mentor teacher was a better teacher than she was.
Magda is a sweet woman. Her accent is cute, but can make it hard to understand her. The ENTIRE class is a group project. No papers or tests. Groupmates are relying on you, so avoid skipping class or procrastinating. She loves to answer questions and do what she can to help.
I took a six week summer course with her and it was great. It was kinda crazy six weeks, but she made us sign up for the Remind updates, so it was easier to keep up. I wish I could take in during a regular semester. She does not require a textbook but you have a lot of reading on her blog. It is related to the lectures.
Very positive, was extremely caring when it came to completing your assignments so you wouldnt fall behind and so you could porticipate on class discussion. Always pushed to include everyone on discussion. Gave very good feedback on how to improve a rough draft on an assignment or project.
She really cares about her Students and I can tell She wants us to succeed in this Class. She's really passionate about technology & how we can use it in our classrooms in the future. She hasd passion for content, provides demos, and makes technology in her class smooth. She also encourages students to get involved.
This class with her is a lot of work. The work is necessarily hard, just time consuming and can get frustrating. Some the projects were hard to understand at first but got easier as you worked on them. I learned a lot about technology in the classroom from this class though.
She was very specific about how she wanted things to be done, but did not communicate those expectations, and then kept the work load heavy and difficult on top of that. She was terrible about communication and never responded to emailed questions. She never graded assignments in a timely manner either. I don't recommend taking her AT ALL.
Madga is very friendly and passionate about her job. This class is not difficult, there's just a lot of busy work. But, with that said, she grades fairly easily and so do her TA's. There are lots of group projects so be prepared for that. Overall, I would take classes with her again as she made learning about technology bearable.
I really enjoyed Magda. She is by far the best Ed Tech professor at UNI. There are no tests, just a weekly online quiz, and lots of projects. The projects often seemed overwhelming, but Magda and her grad students were always available to answer questions and break down what was expected. Magda can seem intimidating, but she is very approachable!
Great prof! Very relatable treated students as equals and as educators instead of as Children/Students. I really enjoyed this class
It takes a certain person to stand in front of a class and teach us about technology and how to use it in the classroom. Especially with my generation growing up with technology. She always found something new to Show us that would get me excited, example being Google Expeditions.
Magda is the most energetic + fun professor Ive had so far! Fun Class and it is applicable to our future jobs as teachers b/c Magda is very focused on tech used in Classes now.
She seems to love teaching. She genuinely cares about our success. Her lectures are very well done and contributed to my understanding. Our Wednesday discussions are my favorite part. No book is required, but there is still a lot of reading on a blog. Quizzes but they are not timed and she encourage you to ask questions if you don't understand
I always feel like Magda gets students to listen + be engaged + sharing. Im never bored! It is also funny to see her trying new ways to wake us up before class time. Thinking about picking up an ed. tech. minor.
At the beginning I could not understand her very well, but then I got use to her accent. She's very passionate about the teachology, teaching, and very determined to make us think like teachers. I enjoy having the hands on experience and, even though it is sometimes stressful, I like that I have choice of how I am going to do the assignment.
This course is very group project heavy. However Magda is very clear about what is expected and will help you if you need help in completing any projects. The lectures are quite boring and dont really have to do with what you do in the labs, however the lectures are all sections taken together. I highly recommend taking Magda for Ed tech and design
Magda is not a great professor. She doesn't seem to have an understanding of the content she works with and seems disconnected with what working in an actual classroom is like. If you blindly follow what she promotes, you will have frustrating experiences in the classroom. She also has a bit of a condescending attitude. Class was easy but annoying.
Magda is usually good at making sure we know what is going on and what is expected of us. She makes us think like teachers. She talks a lot about being professional and career-minded. Her lectures were very well done and useful. She seems to love teaching.
She wasn't super caring as far as professors go and she was very unorganized. Expectations were very unclear.
Magda cares about her job and her students, and she is very knowledgable and enthusiastic about what she does. I would enjoy the class more if we have more time to work in class.I feel like there was too much content and too much work for the credits provided.
A lot of work, but I did learn a lot from this class. The only big con of taking from her was how long it took to get a grade back.
She is absolutely amazing! She really wants you to learn and take everything you learn in the class with you throughout your career as a teacher. 100% recommend.
Magdalena Galloway is an awesome teacher. She is so passionate and really cares about her students. She is super helpful with any questions you have and always makes class a good time. There are a handful of projects throughout this class and these are mainly what you are graded on. Also make sure to not skip class!
This class is easy to get an A in if you do your work. Lots of projects, but really helpful class. Good Professor.
Professor Galloway is a real gem. She's funny and witty and treats her students like friends. She is really clear with her instructions and her classes allow for a lot of personal expression and creativity. The only thing is that her grading time is usually a little bit slow.
I loved Magda! She is passionate about what she teaches, and really helps to show why the topics are important to understand. The class is a lot of work, but it is bigger projects with longer periods of time to work on them. The only drawback with Magda is that she takes a long time to return grades.
I really enjoyed having Magda as a professor. She understands that we're all doing the projects for the first time so she doesn't grade them too hard. She does have expectations as to what to see in the projects, but overall as long as I included everything I passed with an A! Remember to do your RWLD's, those were easy 10 points every week.
This course is beneficial no matter what grade someone will teach because you learn all the aspects. It is not based off one section of school, it is based off your whole educational career and what kind of technology you want to use in your future classrooms. She is very knowledgeable and gives good examples from schools. I
I enjoyed her as a professor and she was very caring and knows a lot. Make sure you stay on top of your weekly readings. If you subscribe to her reminds she will send you a message so you won't forget to take quizzes and submit your assignments on time.
This was the toughest semester of my life. She made it bearable. I was actually looking forward to being in her class, and I wouldn't say I like technology that much LOL
I feel bad for anyone that has to take her class. Her eLearning is set up so ridiculously that it makes you question how she is qualified to teach a class about technology, it will be almost impossible to follow along with her eLearning. She completely ignores secondary ed students, so if you are a secondary student be ready to teach yourself.
I took this class online. I love that she is having us only do one group project and then projects the rest of the time individually. I like that we are given a to do list every week, and she sends text reminders.
Magda was great for Ed Tech! The class itself had lots of homework. It was not difficult, but time-consuming. However, Magda always made class fun and was a great professor. She was flexible and willing to extend due dates for projects. I would recommend her!
Magda is funny, caring, and knowledgeable. She will push you to become a Google Certified Educator. I actually learned a lot in her class and would definitely recommend her as an instructor
She is super passionate about education and her field, and makes students really feel like teachers. Homework is typical, but has meaning and is useful for education. Projects were fun and engaging.
Very very very project heavy. She doesn't tell you that your Thematic Unit is quite literally the base for every other project you will do for the rest of the class. She is willing to help. Her grading criteria is lowkey confusing though, I struggled with what was required when. If you stay on top of your work this class should be easy-ish.
She is a really caring professor, you can tell she's passionate about making you a better teacher. Almost all assignments are projects which I prefer over tests and papers. There are small quizzes every week about lectures she's assigned. Class was. only on Monday and Wednesday, she gave us Fridays off but to finish things for her class.
She is a very good professor. She gives a lot of lectures, but they're quite interesting and important for teaching majors. I really enjoyed how clearly the rubrics are laid out and that she posts the entire semester's schedule at the beginning of the year. My only gripe is that she is a bit hard to reach outside of class.
I really liked Galloway as a professor and she wants the best out of her students. One online quiz a week which isn't very difficult. And projects that help you grow as an educator! The only thing I would say is that she doesn't take much time to describe the projects, but you can find a very detailed description online with student examples!
It is a handy class to take. No textbook. Fridays are online to watch pre-recorded lectures and do the reading. You will learn a lot in her class about google apps and computer science. She will encourage you to become Google Certified educator. She always has ZOOM open if you can't make it to class. I would definitely take more courses from her.
Magda was hard to understand at the beginning but you get used to her. She is very project heavy but a lot of it is actually things you will use in your career. Overall I enjoyed the class, but make sure you stay on top of things because otherwise it can become a lot. Grading can be a little confusing. Overall, good and fun class but lots of work.
She never emails, she doesn't grade her ta does, and she doesn't teach the content.
Magda was a very OK professor. If you're on top of your work and an el-ed student, this class will be a cakewalk. Secondary ed is basically ignored for the entirety of this course. Turn things in on time, dig into the rubric and stay on top of quizzes. Stay on top of the syllabus, because hers is very detailed.
This class is project heavy. She gives you a lot of time to work on them in class but you need to give yourself time outside of class. Don't wait till the last minute you will regret it. Her in class activities were kind of all over the place. I felt like I was always working on the project or another class during her class. She talks a lot lol!
Magda was a great professor! This course was super beneficial. There is many project that you have to work on outside of class but she gives you work time in class also. There are 12 online quizzes for the semester that are very easy. Not a lot of reading. Attendance matters.
Magdalena Galloway was an amazing teacher! She made coming to class at night actually exciting. Her class was fun and I actually enjoyed doing the assignements. She did a great job of connecting with us despite being online and was an overall amazing teacher!
If you are an el-ed student, you will love this class. Very detailed teaching on how to use Google projects and later coding to make your classroom fun and accessible. Upper ed majors are almost completely ignored and most info is geared towards el-ed. LOTS of projects, but you get work time. You get Fridays off, too, in exchange for weekly tests.
Professor Galloway is genuinely kind and caring. She avoids traditional tests and finals, opting for project-based assignments instead. Thriving in the course is achievable by reviewing project examples and paying attention in class. You have a quiz almost once a week based on the online lecture.
Prof Galloway has a very heavy accent and is difficult to understand. Her assignments are linked together so you have to be knowledgeable from the very beginning, although you are not told this. How you are told to complete/submit projects is very vague and hard to understand. She does not respond to emails, or help you during class time.
Magda was a good instructor for this course. The assignment guidelines aren't always super clear, but she's good at answering questions if you are confused. If you do the quizzes and complete the big assignments, it won't be hard to get an A or B in this class.
Funny, sweet, assignments are easy if you come to class and follow directions, Google certification is not hard!!
Magda is an amazing teacher. I look forward to her class each week. The class is easy but I learned so much. I would take another class with her in a heartbeat.
Oh my gosh I adore this woman. Magda is the sweetest professor I have ever had & is very knowledgeable in what she teaches. She truly cares about her students & their success in her class/personal lives. If you put in any effort at all, you are going to get an A. More than likely you will leave her class every day happier than when you came in.
Magda is the sweetest ever!! She relates to you and if you have class tues/thurs, she'll only have it for 50 mins in person and the other half is free time to work on assignments. A lot of group work so sit with a good group!
Magda is a fantastic professor. I love her teaching style and her passion. I would take more classes with her if it were possible
Magda is an amazing professor. Lots of group work and assignment heavy, but the class is very beneficial for future educators
One of my favorite college classes so far! Wish I could have Magda for more :)
Dr. Galloway does an amazing job ensuring students participate in class, creating an environment that encourages learning and make you think like a teacher. She spends a lot of time on making sure the teams know how to work together. Overall she is an amazing professor who truly wants her students to succeed.
This class is wonderful. Magda is an engaging, personable, and wonderful professor. It is clear she truly cares about the material and her students. I learned more about Gen AI in her class than in any other so far. Overall the course is structured well and provides helpful and relevant information. I enjoy this class!
Magda is a great professor. You can tell she puts a lot of effort into her job as well as how much she really cares about our future careers. I believe I will be a better teacher after this class.
Magda was incredibly nice and shows constantly that she care for her students. There is a lot of work but since this is an education course this was expected. The work can be challenging if you procrastinate so do a little each day. She is very flexible and understanding as long as you communicate.
nice, no textbooks
This was the only class that allowed me to join via ZOOM when I was depressed. It helped me get back to my life without falling behind
No text book but she has a weekly blog. She is awesome. Get to know the people at your table, because you will work with them throughout the semester.
Magda is super caring and makes class feel fun and actually useful I honestly wish she taught more classes because I would take them in a heartbeat
