I love this woman. She is very understanding and passionate, down to earth and helpful. She completely turned me on to Latin American Literature. If you participate her classes are exciting. She's not there to spoonfeed you ideas.

her class is easy...barely any work! she is unorganized and her class is way lax..she's cancelled it like 5 times this semester! take her for an easy A but u won't learn anything

Yeah she might be unorganized, and at sometimes a little boring, but the class was a breeze. We only read 6 novels, had easy quizes on each, and then one paper due at the end of the semester. NO final. Yeah, we could have learned more, but it was nice just to show up for class without any stress.

Prof Jaffe is a great professor that people get down on because she's not a traditional, boring, lecture you all day kind of teacher. She is laid back and the class has great open minded discussion. She is also very helpful and wants her students to succeed. Put in a little effort and you'll get an A.

She's a great prof... very relaxed and entertaining. Pretty easy class, write a lot on the essay questions on the tests and you'll do fine. She's very nice and will help you as much as you need. As a hint: Take ENG 220 Into to Childrens Lit as opposed to World Lit... it counts for the same thing but is a MUCH better class.

super easy class, she corrects her own work on your paper saying that it doesn't fit. she is unorganized. 4 papers - thats it. i wrote one in 2 hours and got a b+ (i mean... just thought of at that moment!)

Some might complain about disorganization, but that's the best part. This is my favorite prof at state. It's an actual college class. Stimulation comes from the great class discussions. She's easy to please as far as papers go, and she doesn't require a lot of reading nor assignments. Really cool,laid back lady. Will definitely take again.

I think this prof is too intelligent to be teaching some of the close-minded,ignorant students at this university. She encourages you to think on your own; you are not spoon-fed the ideas. If you don't like that, you should take another class.

Probably the easiest GE that State offers. You hella read childrens books and write about them in unstructures essay format. Don't have to read the books either, because she shows the film to each book. Great teacher though. Extremely funny!

Maggie is the best instructor i've had at STATE! She changes the syllabus a lot, but she does it to help the class out. She's a pretty easy grader, and a very interesting person. If you see her around on campus, try talking to her. She's a very cool lady! Don't leave STATE without taking a class with her!

Jaffe is freakin awesome! She is laid back and very flexible about the syllabus and work. The papers are pretty much whatever you want to write. Class was so much fun, we'd talk about anything! If you have to take a W class, this is the one!! I didn't even show up every time, but do the papers, you'll get a good grade. Take JAFFE!! You'll love her!

Maggie is cool. She relates well to the students and plays a lot of movies in the class. Very little work during the whole semester...only 3-4 written assignments. I definetly recommend her!

If you want stucture, then she's not for you. For others, she really brings the freedom back to creative writing. There is no stress to this course. It is what you make it. Her guidelines are extremely flexible. If you want to change your topic, she's with you. She focuses on student improvement and is always open-minded to suggestions. Cool lady.

WOW. What a class. I couldn't imagine taking it with anyone else. Jaffe allows her students to speak out, no matter what their belief. If you do the readings, speak out in class, and write decent essays, you are bound to get and A/A-.

Maggie really teaches from the heart.I truly appreciate this, because I myself plan to teach.She puts an incredible amount of effort into her classes and it shows.After taking this class, I see the rewards of teaching are so much more than money.We all know that money from teachers is like blood from a stone,but the compassion grows on trees.

This class was challenging,but I never wanted to miss a day.Prof. Jaffe really inspires her students to think independently and not be afraid to express their opinions out loud.The comment left on 5/21 is totally absurd and 100% false.Who in their right mind could even think up a comment like that?I would take this prof. every semester if I could.

Relaxed teacher. Requires a lot of books, two long 15pg. paper. shes funny, just take her. (she once mentioned about not having a "chili" on her rating, i had to put one for her!!!). she's great!

class is mandatory but she dosnt take role all the time. She gives quizes but relaxes as time goes on. If you took RWS 100 or 200 youll do great. If not you will still do fine. She is a liberal but shes a funney liberal and I had many interesting discussions with her. Shes funney and an easy grader. The only draw back is the reading

Requirements kept changing throughout the semester. All we did was write Reader's Responses and a final paper. There were writers workshops and some grammar work. The class was really boring but an easy A. She is a really nice lady, but I don't feel like I learned very much.

Nice, funny lady. Didn't really learn anything. I don't recommend taking her simply because there is too much emphasis on grammar and not enough on how to write, which is the point of the class.

Look at the comments about her. The idiots on here can hardly spell, never mind appreciate a great writer, poet, and person. She is incredibly smart, open-minded, willing to help, and interested in education. I can assure you that if you make an effort to know her and engage what she has to say, you will be handsomely rewarded with experience.

Takes attendance. Very understanding and easy going professor. Only a couple quiz and paper. Can get by without book. Interesting topics, lectures, and movies.

I don't understand some of the comments about her. The class isn't hard at all. All you have to do is read the books; I even got by just skimming the books and reading summaries online. There are two 10-12 page papers, but that's all. She doesn't grade hard at all unless you copy someone else's work. Just do your own work, and you'll be fine.

She is a funny, witty teacher. I liked her class, the material of books & film were very interesting. Show up 4 the DICUSSIONS of the books & films, because most people won't read the books & the ESSAYS will be heavily graded on the material. Take good notes on dicussions to help with your essays, you'll be fine! & try not to skip class too much.

Really open-minded and hella nice. Sparknotes and such will be your friend during the TWO assignments in the semester of summaries/analysis of some books/movies. Great teacher, take her.

I love poetry, but I just found this class to be a little too boring. I think it would have been better if she had put us into groups or something, so it wasn't only the same 3 or 4 people talking each week. But the class is almost ridiculously easy. Write 4 poems and write a paper on your favorite poet... that's about it. No tests. But... boring.

Fun lady. Class could have used a little more structure, but I had a great time and walked away with some valuable tools. It's always great when your teacher isn't afraid to curse in class. I have the utmost respect for professors who speak what's on their mind. Nice woman, good grader, and makes you think. Take her!!!

I really liked her class. Interesting reading and discussions. A little boring, but very easy. Just two papers, nothing else. Make sure you visit her office hours; will give great help! Very funny and personable. Extremely easy going.

She's any extremely easy grader! You watch movies in class and write 2 papers, there are also quizzes for some of the books. She does ditch class sometimes and goes off topic. I got an A in the class, barely went and failed all the quizzes.

What a wonderful woman, professor, and writer!
