Hard class but a friendly professor. IDK why other comments complain they have 50s and impossible exams. All questions are covered in study guide or pulled from the clicker questions used in class as examples. Study and attend class and you'll be fine.

Lectures are fast paced but easy to understand. Study guides are provided for each exam that line up with the questions on the exams. Lots of extra credit given. As long as you put in the effort, read the textbook before the lectures (not mandatory but I highly recommend) and look over the lecture slides (posted after lectures), you will do well!

Maggie is very hard. She is super smart and knows what she is talking about but she goes SO fast in lectures that you can not humanly possible take in everything she is saying. This class takes a decent amount of outside studying to succeed and you can not skip lectures or you will be very behind. I learned a ton, but it took work.

Dr. Mamantov was a very engaging and interesting bio 150 teacher. Despite it being her first semester, she made the topics at hand easy to comprehend and understand. Tests are packed full of material, so review PowerPoints and take any extra credit. Definitely sign up for this class if you like Biology.

Mamantov was a nice professor, very motivated in her lectures and good at getting grades back in a timely fashion. It is A LOT of material that is given in a short amount of time so taking good notes is a MUST. However, the tests are pretty much completely off of the notes, in-class clickers, hw, etc and she truly does not want a student to fail.

Dr. Mamantov is a wonderful person and very supportive professor. She's new to lecturing and therefore figuring out how to give tests and lectures appropriately. She got easier each test. If you show effort, she will help you get the grade you want. I struggled a lot but asked for help consistently and ended with an A. Go over the lectures!

Dr. Mamantov's class was difficult, but she made it easy to succeed with the extra credit. You will definitely need to study, but the lectures are clear. She's very positive and definitely knows and cares a lot about the topic.

Dr. Mamantov is a great professor. She offered plenty of extra credit, always helpful at office hours and is so sweet. Yes its biology and it can be hard, but if you put effort into the course Dr. Mamantov will notice, and the extra credit WILL HELP YOU. 90% of the time it was not even that much extra work!

Very similar to high school biology class. If you take notes and do the homework you will succeed. The teacher was very approachable and knowledgable. 10/10 recommend.

Dr. Mamantov is a nice and great professor and bio 150 is a class where as long as you come to lecture, pay attention, take notes, and study a bit for the tests, you will do fine in. Also she offers lots of extra credit, and has TA review sessions which are helpful. Also I always think of her class when I see dung beetles now lol

Mamantov gives a lot of bonus point opportunites and overall really cares about what she teaches!! i found her style of lectures to be a little confusing and she goes so. fast. it can be really hard to keep up so be prepared to take notes outside of class. The exams are typically straightforward and similar to her practice problems

She's a really good professor. Her lectures aren't for everyone but they're easy to follow. Lots of extra credit opportunities on exams. Not much homework, but frequent open-note quizzes. Just do your work and you'll be fine

You are allowed to miss 12 days without any points taken off your clicker grade. She gives a lot of extra-credit opportunities. Study hard, her tests can be difficult. She is really obsessed with dung beetles haha.

I loved taking bio with Dr. Mamantov. She's very sweet and caring. If you take the time to show up to her office hours she will walk you through every homework question until you get a perfect score. Her quizzes and tests aren't always easy, but if you learn her testing style then they're not too difficult. Loves her dung beetles and dogs.

Excellent, enthusiastic lecturer who wants her students to learn. Very approachable and helpful. If you come to class and participate you'll do well. She has a lot of different strategies/ practices to help us learn all the different things, which I really enjoyed. Plus, she's great to talk to if you need help and often offered office hours.

There is daily practice problems and even though it was a large class, she made every lecture engaging which taking good notes makes the class easy. She made the class very digestible and pretty fun to be in, because of her passionate love for biology, the class overall felt pretty comfortable doing. Tests are organized and the HW actually helps!

Honestly great teacher. Her lectures are fast paced and her hw and quizzes are hard but you just have to study and apply yourself. Most of the hw answers are found directly on the slides and quiz questions are based off of homework. You do really need to study for quizzes bc short answer AND multiple choice are very applied. Very understanding!

Miss Mamantov is a very clear but quick lecturer. She allows quiz corrections, but there are 6-7 exams a semester (65 points each). I recommend attending lectures because she gives a lot of clarifying information. I also recommend reading the before before class. She also has a very interesting obsession with dung beetles. She is cool asf tho.

I can't believe these negative reviews. Dr. Mamantov has an amazing personality and genuinely cares about her students. She is passionate about what she teaches and puts in the effort. Her exams weren't difficult and they were also open-note. My only regret is that I didn't take her in person bc she seems so cool. She also loves dung beetles lol.

Dr. Mamantov is an incredibly organized professor and I would highly! recommend her despite these reviews. If you are good at studying and only need a conceptual understanding to further understand it in depth on your own, she is perfect for your learning style. Her tests are super super fair, and you'll take her organization for granted later on!

I really enjoyed her class. I previously hated biology because of a dual enrollment course I took but she teaches material in a way that is easy to understand and as long as you really try to study and do the extra practice problems she provides, it makes the class a lot easier. Also letting us have a notecard for the exam was so helpful.

Weekly HW + reading assignments, but it's not too difficult so you can knock it out quickly. 1 notecard for exams. VERY kind, passionate about the material, and going to her office hours can help you learn. PLENTY of opportunities outside of class to get help, and as with all things bio, repetition is key to learning. Clickers for participation.

I love Dr. Mamantov! I cannot express this enough, GO TO OFFICE HOURS!!! If you don't understand something, 10 times out of 10, she will explain it in a way that you'll understand one on one. If she taught 160, I'd take her no hesitation! Cannot recommend her enough. I will say for me, it was hard to score above 80s on tests, so be prepared!

Mamantov is an AMAZING instructor. She is so organized and truly cares about her students. She gives many opportunities to bring your grade up, and if you stay on top of assignments and study, it'll be an easy A. Lectures are fast-paced but taking advantage of the pre-class slides and taking notes BEFORE class is very helpful.

A lot of people struggle in this class, but as long as you take good notes over the slides and take advantage of the notecard you use on tests, you will be fine. Most of her tests are exactly like the practice tests and most of the multiple choice are clicker questions that you do in class.

I thought she was a wonderful professor! There are lots of tests, but they are designed to help you improve and retain more information for the final. As long as you attend lecture and use her review materials (and the countless extra credit assignments), you will do great. She wants her students to succeed.

I really enjoyed Dr. Mamantov's class! I can see why some struggle. The class requires a lot of action outside of class including prepping for lectures, completing the homework assignments, and completing the MANY extra credit options she provides. She is very organized and gives so many resources to prepare for exams. I recommend!

Dr. Mamantov was such a great professor! She explained everything so well and offered so much extra credit! Since there is a lot of material that was covered, attendance and paying attention in lectures is important for success! I think that you'll definitely get what you put in, and Dr. Mamantov genuinely wants for each student to succeed.

Dr. Mamantov is a GREAT lecturer. The class overall isn't bad either, as long as you study for exams. She does use clickers but allows a bunch of drops, so you can miss days. DO THE READINGS BEFORE CLASS, they WILL help you. She allows a cheat sheet on exams, and they aren't TOO much of your grade, but absolutely prioritize them. Def recommend!

This class is challenging, but if you take good notes you will be fine. Lots of exams but prep you well for the final. Don't hesitate to ask questions—she explains things clearly. There's lots of extra credit, and clickers count for participation. She dives deep into the material, but it really helps with understanding.

She does go through her lectures pretty fast, but that's because she has a lot of material to go over. If you attend class and take notes on what she says and the slides, then getting a good grade won't be hard. She's extremely nice and will be able to answer any questions you have, so office hours is a good idea since she's very knowledgeable.

The way to put it is Dr. Mamantov is a great teacher for the amount of info she has to cover in lecture. Each class is typically 50+ slides sometimes even 70+. It's extremely hard to take thorough notes in class because of how fast she goes through the slides. info isn't hard, just a lot. Be prepared for how many learning objectives there are.

Dr. Mamantov was a decent professor! She is very lecture-heavy, and including the final you have 5 exams. She does offer a lot of opportunities for extra credit which is super nice!

Dr. M is amazing! Evolution is not an easy class but Dr. M provides so many resources to help you succeed so long as you take advantage of them. Her lectures are very interesting and she usually incorporates games or activities to help better understand the material. This was my favorite class!

Although the material was sometimes difficult, Dr. Mamantov was amazing at teaching the material and was always promoting office hours, study sessions, and extra help to anyone who needed it. My favorite professor so far!

She is super nice and passionate about biology and the topics she teaches. She gives daily reading/homework assignments from the textbook and a long one due every Sunday that she makes herself. Her tests are challenging and you have to attend lecture and study to do well. But she allows test corrections and a lot of extra credit over the semester.

Mamantov definitely knows what she's talking about, but her PhD thesis involved dung beetles, so she works dung beetles into the lecture every chance she gets. There are an insane amount of reading assignments, but if you keep up on the reading and understand it, you'll do fine. Many grades drop and the tests/quizzes are easier than the readings.

Very Easy Intro Class and Mamamtov is good at summarizing info before exams. LOVED her review before the final- it helped me SO much!! Sometimes she overcomplicates stuff but I think she just needs to work on the order when she explains stuff

No one knows more about biology. There are so many slides each class. She assigns daily Pearsons and weekly Canvas homework, but a lot is dropped. She gives extra credit, so if you don't do well on a test (Unit 2 had a low class average), but do the extra credit, it's fine. Do the assignments and take notes. Shes great and makes the class better.

Dr. M is super organized and explained the content in depth. She puts her lecture material on Canvas; I would reference it pretty often, in addition to the variety of study material she offered-- all super helpful. She also reuses some quiz and worksheet questions on her exams. However, lectures are nearly every class and her exams can be tough.

Dr. Mamantov was a pretty solid professor. Class was lecture heavy and there was a lot of material to go over with only 50 minutes so we got behind on material sometimes and lectures were very fast-paced. Lecture slides were helpful for notes/understanding material. She does give out of a lot of extra credit oppurtunities & assignment drops!

This professor was amazing. At first, I wanted to drop out because she was lecturing very fast. Her lectures are 60-70 slides a class, but all of it was extremely helpful. I definitely recommend her.
