Very hard to understand her dialogue
Knows her stuff
knows her stuff, quiet voice, hard to hear sometimes
Knows her stuff, but for an intro course, she does not make it easy. Soft spoken, sometimes hard to hear.
All MC questions in the exams. Couldn't be easier.
Knows the subject matter, fair marker, very good instructor.... not quite loud enough in class.
HARD!
Way to hard and boring. Didn't enjoy class.
reasonable,, lots of students find her difficult. hard to follow and understand sometimes, but can still achieve. (mid term average= 59%)
Very Hard... seems easy when in class but exams and quizes are hard. Class is super boring
she explains everything well, but when it comes to exams it sucks...her class average is not more than C ...don't take it with her...believe me
I took her class and got an A+
sooo hard to understand what shes saying and her graphs are the worst and improperly labeled doesnt follow the text take morris hes the best shes nice but not easy to understand
Not as bad as the statistics show. However, she is a bore, and her teaching style is poor. Look at another prof. before her.
she is very kind.
WORST TEACHER EVER!!! Could not teach if her life depended on it. Do not take her class whatever you do, avoid her at all costs. She doesnt even follow the text book.
Macro is generally a very frustrating and hard class. But its unfair to say that Mahak is unhelpful. She's easy to talk to, she genuinely cares about her students. She has a quite funny side. Econ is brutal yes, but don't blame her! Just do the readings!!
Super nice lady, good teacher, fun class.
She is VEEry helpful..Tries to explain with some jokes and somehow makes the subject interesting. It's easy to ask her for explanation - she is patient.
She's very kind and helpful.. if you study your notes ( study book for midterm) you can easily get an A....
how come no one gave her a chili pepper?! she's so pretty
Not to be **** but her accent is way to strong, can't understand a word she is saying, esp when she's lecturing at 200 mph. To make matters worse she doesn't even follow the text book. The only use for the text book is to study the review questions for the midterm. Nice prof but poor methods.
it's obvious by her demeanor that she does not enjoy what she does. mahak is not a very friendly person, and her ability as a prof is satisfactory at best. I'd strongly recommend that you only take her as a last resort..the other profs are WAY better.
very unclear...poor teaching skills...would not recommend her to anyone!...pick another teacher...you'll regret ever having taken her
hard marker
She's a very nice person, but she has poor teaching skills. Her accent is a big problem because it makes it really hard to understand and her notes can be quite confusing..
Strong accent, but yet sounds fake. Passionate Economic instructor.
has experience and will take the time to explain if asked. hard marker. and the accent is't as bad as some teachers!!!
She is very nice teacher
She is a good teacher.
grea teaching method. she helps you understand the content
went for help and she said... "you know this already, right? DON'T YOU? you learned it in class..." re-read that sentence and by those words, you can figure out how helpful she was during my semester! she's nice, but she expects you to know everything already... bad teaching method, extremely hard marker.
she knows a lot but has an unefficient teaching methods. Her notes are confusing, you better study from the book. Extremely hard marker especilly with short answers. Changed percentage assign to each part of the course by eliminating 1 quiz because when she was at hospital our sub-teacher didn't give it to us =NOT FAIR BECAUSE SINCE NOT OUR FAULT.
Her notes are horrible. Thankfully the textbook is written clearly. Her M/C questions are easy. Just read the textbook before the microthemes. Expect her to change the last M/C quiz to a take home assignment (which I think is worse). She's pretty tough on short answers. Don't wait till the last minute to write your paper.
if you want to pass this course, DO NOT TAKE MAHAK!! she's extremely unhelpful, and if you argue with her to get marks, she'll disagree with you
If you want to pass do not take her. She the hardest marker i have ever met at Capp, shes hard to understand, and her microthemes are confusing, not to mention extremely hard.
her lectures are sometimes hard to follow. very willing to take time to help when approached. Is generally fair but firm, doesn't take ****
well, this teacher was recomended by some of my BUSINESS friends to me. they said this course is really easy specially with her!. well i am telling you, if you are not in business this course is a little hard!. but she is an excellent teacher in teaching material in class and although she is very fast, her teaching is so clear. (rest in tne next pa
the most terrible teacher ive ever met in Cap!!!her notes are really unorganized and hard to understand....her pronunciation is hard to understand too.........oh,,,,dont take her class if u really wanna learn something.....
she's really good teacher. So helpful! If you follow the lecture notes you would be fine; you can get A!
probably one of the worst teachers i've ever seen at cap. very unorganized, hard to understand, just a bad teacher overall.
Really nice lady, but her classes are really hard to understand because she moves through material without explaining it clearly
Really good teacher that explains the material quite well although she goes through it quite fast. Very helpful will explain something to you with many examples if your having problems. Overall she marks a little stuff but is a good teacher
Mahak is a nice lady. She is very good at what she does and tries to help as much as she can. And her teaching is very clear.
Nice lady, but not a great teacher.
Mahak is a nice person...she's not a very good teacher. She told me to do every single question at the back of the chapter to study. I was like yeah right lady, and I suffered for that. Soo if you take her class and get a good mark, work on the questions at the end of the chapter.
She has a generally possitive attitude in this class, and I'm happy to have her as a teacher. However, the notes she provide are kind of confusing. And she asks that we do all the work in the back of the book + Lyryx, which is a very heavy workload.
Econ is such an amazing course and it requires an even more amazing instructor. M.Yaseri is VERY boring. Her method of teaching is read the text and answer questions. If you can read the book on your own you'll do fine on the exam and you don't ever have to go to class. Other than that your money can be spent better else where.
great teacher.. sometimes hard to follow
I enjoy economics but I feel like I lose knowledge showing up to her classes. Her teaching style and explanations make zero sense to me, I don't learn anything from her. I like economics and I can tell she does too but its like we're aliens to each other - there is zero communication.
You will never understand what she's talking about during the class, and it takes time to understand her questions. She's a mood killer. She's very irresponsable to the material written in the class. I'm not sure if she's really using formula given to us to solve the questions or just copy answer from the web.
M. Yaseri is a terrible teacher. I'm sure she means well but I would like her to mean well someplace else! I don't understand her notes and her microthemes are difficult to understand. I'm just lucky that the textbook is easy to follow. Oh and don't bother going to her class!
I am warning you, this woman is not a good teacher. She is useless and it's almost impossible to pay attention in her class. I have been attending every single one of her classes and I personally believe that I would have learned more if I went to the library and studied out of the book. You will fail if you have you. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!
I read her reviews on this website prior to signing up for her class but she was the only option i had so i signed up anyways. Biggest mistake of my life. Impossible to understand, she never makes sense, is so painful to listen to. SHE IS THE WORST TEAHER In my entire academic career from kindergarten until now. DONT MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE!!!!!!!!!!
She is a hard marker, I would never take any courses with her ever again. If she would have gave me 0.5% more I could get A- but she refused to do it, and I was one of her good students with perfect attendance!!!
extremely hard to follow her lectures.all she does is lecture.i have learned everything i know from the textbook. classes are a waste of time.. she's a nice person though.
She is very enthusiastic in delivering her lecture. She can explain complicated theory clearly and interestingly. However, she is a tough marker and you should have a full understanding of the course in order to get a good mark. Office hour is very helpful, would recommend her if u are really into econ!
Show up and take good notes, put effort into the (no-marks) in-class assignments, and do the practice questions at the end of the textbook chapters and you're golden, she takes questions from the textbook and past quizzesmidterm for the tests. Sometimes her writing on the board can be hard to read but she is happy to explain away any confusion.
Mahak was awesome, she knew what she was talking about and answered every question you gave answers in depth. When taking down her notes, you HAVE to keep your head down and write what she verbally says because if you write what she writes on the board, it won't make sense later when you review your notes
Not very bad, but hard to follow the notes. Tests and quizzes are not hard. Classes are so boring.
Mahak is extremely passionate. She makes the course easy to follow. She is always willing to go out of her way to help you. I would recommend this course!
Her accent is hard to deal with, but the worse part is she spent far too long on early chapters meaning the class per chapter in the last 2 months. She relies too heavily on connect to teach the class. In the end I had to learn all the chapters myself.
Perfect prof. Just show up to the class and do the online assignment and you'll get at least a B
Great prof, she is always available outside of her call time for extra help. Although I skipped more than half of the classes I ended up with a B
Extremely helpful during office hours. Lectures are oftentimes hard to follow; make sure to review your notes and go through the textbook (connect h/w is for marks so just use the E-text). Micro themes, quizzes, and midterms are pretty simple. Ask her for help if you're struggling on any chapters before you take tests
She takes her time with you during her office hours and makes sure you're prepared for tests and quizzes. She always sets her quiz and exam dates in advance so you have time to prepare, the course is difficult but I had no problem learning it from her. Her quizzes are exactly what she says they will be in class.
She's passionate and cares about your learning but her classes are boring and hard to follow. Ended up teaching myself everything which is a lot of work considering her class notes are way different than the textbook. The last 4-5 chapters she barely covers because most of the semester are spend on the first 5
She's actually really nice and kind of funny but not the best teacher. Scribbles notes on the board really fast and doesn't reinforce what she teaches. However, she is very friendly when you ask for help/clarification. The class is pretty tough, to get a good grade you'll need to attend class and do a lot of practice/extra studying on your own.
We're only 2.5 months into the semester, so my opinion might change slightly at the end of the term, but so far so good. People that complain about the course being boring don't realize that this is the nature of Economics. It's boring and you have to read a lot on your own. The sheer amount of material and concepts demands a lot of reading.
Mahak is a solid choice as an Econ prof. She tries to make the lectures interesting, but it is Econ... its incredibly boring. She has note tremplates pre made that are helpful, but sometimes she can be hard to follow. If you do have difficulty understanding something though, she is always happy to answer questions.
Hated her and her stupid course. she is very lecture-heavy. zero student interaction. very very boring whatever you do don't take this course or this prof ever. very hard exams, she is a nice person but bad teacher. she teaches like we are in 1950's. so old school. i can find anything nice to say or good. i regret this so much. i didnt learn much
Do not take this prof. Very old school! She expects you to take notes very quickly (which I don't mind), but the topic itself needs more in depth discussion rather than just simply writing it on the board. Enjoyed Econ 111 with a different prof, therefore I was excited to take 112. Not recommended at all!!!
She knows what she's talking about, that's for sure. But when it comes to explaining, it's not very clear sometimes. She goes through one chapter slowly but goes through more important concepts fast. Make sure you do the labs, and not the night before the exam! They're very helpful and contain questions that are on the final.
Mahak is super nice but her quizzes and labs are super hard. She is a very good teacher and gives clear explanations.
She is vague and bad at explaining concepts. Her quizzes are extremely hard and you need to listen to her hard-to-understand, fast paced lectures to get what's on the quiz. If you want to pass this course with a good mark, you MUST do the labs and take the best notes that you can. PRINT THEM OUT BEFORE CLASS. Even then it is VERY difficult. AVOID
Doesn't know what she's even doing. If you wanna ruin your gpa's, take her class.
Genuinely a very nice lady, her teaching style just sucks. So fast paced. If she asked the class a question and we didnt get it, she still moved on. If you HAVE to take this class with her, be prepared to self teach from the textbook. I cannot stress this enough, DO THE LABS. Overall, if you can take econ with someone else, you should.
Boring class
I realize that the course is easy and with another professor I would enjoy the class. however, Mahak makes the class a little boring and her lectures are not well-structured. She gives a lot of water on during the class instead of being focused on the main points, which are essential for her tests or understanding topic. good person but can't teach
She's teaching a hard, dry course, she does her best. I personally found her teaching style too fast, and she teaches like you're supposed to know what she's talking about. I think she's too advanced to teach the first and second-year courses. She means well when I ask for help, she tries her best to give it to me.
Rushes through important topics, while spending too much time explaining minor details about topics that aren't important for the test. Frequently gives real world examples that do little to help students understand the topic. She is often unclear about what she wants as an answer on written test questions and grades very strictly.
Knowledgeable decent prof but super disorganized. Notes are a mess, tests aren't scheduled at the beginning of the semester, just tells you a few weeks in advance. we got way behind in the material. And she NEEDS to learn how to teach with the financial calculator. Made bond valuation and TVM calcs ECON 210 way more complicated than necessary.
Let's just say, DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS. If you have to, NOT THIS INSTRUCTOR.
She was not on top of marking anything this whole term. Felt like I could have learned a lot more on the subjects we covered.
In general Econ was a struggle but make sure you do the connect labs and weekly labs. I had her for the fully online year and there was tons of long videos that were hard to watch. I didn't learn much from the professor but the connect labs helped for the tests and quizzes. She also takes forever to mark things.
She will expect you to watch 3+ hours worth of dry lecture material on your own time and she spends class time going over the daily quiz we have to do every morning. Her class is extremely boring, DO NOT TAKE IT, and if it's mandatory then find a different prof, unless you like teaching yourself everything. It's not worth it.
Difficult marker and personality. She is living in her own world, recording her own "teaching" materials and videos. Never actively help students to learn.
Not the easiest class, but if you want to learn she will help you. She really knows her stuff and seems like she truly wants students to succeed. Learn her teaching style and go over what she wants for exams. As for the lecture videos, you can speed them up a bit and they'll go faster. Do the labs, and go over material before class.
Mahak is a great economics professor. She would make sure the class understood her material. She takes her time explaining topics to her students and has an open door policy. During office hours she goes into detail and often would give many examples to help me understand better. Amazing professor!
Very nice lady but skips over topics, and exams are very diffrent from in class discussion. You will find yourself learning topics on your own from the textbook which isn't great.
Not an easy teacher, you have to work hard by yourself and watch tons of youtube videos to understand topics because she just skips it.
hard in giving grades . Nature is cool and good but when about studies not such support.
Mahak has a very old fashioned teaching method. She doesn't like to use technology to upload grades, so if you want to see how you're doing you'll have to go ask her. I found her difficult to understand as she moves fast and speaks quietly, despite us asking her to slow down. No visuals aside from her quickly erased whiteboard scribbles. Avoid her.
Mahak seems like a good person in general but wasn't a good prof. Her lecture notes are really messy and incoherent, she just rifles through topics and if you ask a question she just repeats what she said before. ended up just reading the textbook and teaching myself as I was pretty frustrated.
Do not take her ,seems to sweet but actually not
Good person, but the worst professor I have ever had, super incoherent.
