Oh My God! Can he speak English for once? A student in my class got b---- out by him because the computer was screwy and could not read the floppy disk. He blames the student for the delay. The project was so stupid, he didn't pay attention to student

He's not the worst teacher, but he does lack orginication. He can be condesending. He does cut out the unnecessary stuff. He sticks to about 8 chapters through the whole semester, but he expects you to know them well.
The class isn't too bad at first till you take the final. I think he waits for evaluations and then screws his students over with a hard final. I studied everything he recommended for the final and still didn't do well. More than half the class failed.
The three test that he gives are doable. The group project and presentation are doable. However, that doesn't mean anything if you don't pass his In creditable hard final that is 40 percent of your grade. Study hard for the final it's really tricky.
This is by far the worst teacher ever. He claims that everyone should have good verbal and communication skills, but he can't even speak well himself!He is unclear and only teaches so he can understand.His test have nothing to do with anything he taught
Not too bad until you take the extremely hard final. The first three tests are easy and he follows his own chronology, which is good because he only teaches what you need to know. Don't be fooled the final is worth 40% of your grade. Wastes a lot of time!
He is cool. Note cards allowed on the test. On first three test lectures examples are similar to test. However, final is very different from examples given in class.When you have questions about the material he tends to steam roll through it,not clear!
Alright,i had him for Acct A,that wasn't bad, But this class was unpredictable.His first tests were okay,His final was absurd, we sat there for 3 hours on the final and he didnt teach us the material on the final.It was extremely unfair.It Sucked.hate him

Very straightforward, tells it like it is and gives you what he will examine you on.....final was a bit tricky, but he only covers 6 chap's and you get to bring a notecard and calc to the exams. don't forget the "card", the "card" you
I do not recommend any student to take this professor. He understands the material his tests are not that hard but is long and he grades tough. does not always give his students enough time on the exams. He is generous with the notecards. final is hard
I pass with a B and didn't study a lot in summer class. Just use the notecard well and then u can do well in class.

He is not very clear in class, tends to yell at students on a regular basis, his tests are not MC like most the profs. however he does curve and he gives an example of the test on blackboard plus you get a note card.
He does not cover enough material and the material he does cover does not have much to do with accounting as it does finance. He covers quite a bit of info that is not in the text so it makes it hard to practice with examples. He grades very tough. Not recommended. It was such a waste of time.
Do not take this class. If you have already registered, drop him. If you don't you will regret it for the next 15 weeks. He's unorganized in his lectures His test are not multiple choice, and you will not have enought time on your test.

this class was the hardest class ive ever taken. i recommend that you write down every single thing on your notecard that he gives you..and i mean EVERYTHING. ask questions if you are unclear about something. final was INSANELY DIFFICULT. i think almost everyone failed it
I agree, this class was hard, as are most classes.Just study and put the proper work into the class,it is not too hard.I got a B,but I had to work for it.Many people hardly attended class, I wonder why they dont pass!Overall he is a good teacher and does a great job focusing on the main points.
All exams are essay, the final is the toughest! He covered just 8 out of 12 chapters, which is good. He usually gave 5 points plus 10% for each exam. Overall, his class is okay, but he has a very bad attitude. I got 86%, but he gave me an "A." So, he's really bad afterall.
This is a hard class. He isn't too clear and although his tests aren't too bad his final is the hardest final I have ever taken. Every person I know who had this teacher failed the final. I think he waits until after evaluations and then screws you over. I had a B but after the final it went to a C.

Hassan wasn't really a difficult teacher. He gave ample examples and made himself available whenever students had problems. The class itself is a little challenging, but he does a good job incorporating concepts from begining to end.

No multiple choice or T/F. You have to know your stuff. He's an "old school" teacher that expects students to respect his time, etc. This is my 3rd time taking 201a, and I was most successful in his class. He does have a bad attitude
Dr. Hassan is an awesome teacher, no doubt about that.If you willing to learn don't take any one else.At the same time he expects a lot from you. He even remembers which day you came to class and what time!You realllly learn in his class,but at the same time you might not able to pass it.willing to pass like most of us,then try take a different one
He isn't nearly as bad as some of these ratings claim, but he isn't that good either. His accent isn't too bad, but he isn't perfectly clear about what he expects you to know and put down on his tests. He adds points to tests when he thinks it is fair and necessary. It is well worth it to explain your test answers to him to get more points though.

If your Desi DO NOT TAKE HIS CLASS. Professor Hassan has some sort of complex and ego about being desi and if your desi and u take his class he treats u alot harder than the other students. He even prided on the fact that 3 of his desi students dropped his class. As a professor he grades hard so study the material well. But beware if your desi.

I failed accounting the 1st time with another teacher. With Hassan, I learned the most out of this accounting class and he curves the grades. I got a B in this class, honestly you just need to go to class. NO homework and you cover less chapters than other classes. Tests are not multiple choice, but he gives you enough examples to go over.

I don't know what all these other people were smoking, but one of the easiest accounting teacher.He lets you use notecards on the exams, if you can't pass with that then you shouldn't be a business major. He spent a half an hour telling us how students are lazy and worthless while passing back our exams one time. usualy he seporates it and just did little bursts of how stupid we all were throuought the class. his grading was, difficult to say the least. all he does is complain about school policies and students. not my cup of tea

A lot of the things discussed in lecture are FYI. The most important lectures to attend are the 2 before the exams. The practice exams and examples are helpful when studying. Tough grader...challenging class.
The material is hard and he doesn't spend much time making sure that you understand it. He is unhelpful in his office hours and treats you like you are stupid for asking questions.
Class is straight forward, he gives you examples of past exams which are pretty much the same as the tests. Notecard saves you on tests, fill those puppies up, i just copied the old exams. He also fought the department final! Give him a chance and show up for class. Easy B!!!

I absolutely would advise AGAINST taking Hassan's class. Not only are his teaching methods horrid, he will occasionally make a scene with his temper. If there were an option of triple frownie face, I’d give Hassan one of those.
This class was so easy. Never got boring if you are a business major. You will learn so much more than accounting. He allows notecards for the exam. Gives many examples from past exams, and similar to the current exam. Study a couple hours a day and its easy A. Would take him again.

Screws up your exam grades. Fights with the class. Enjoys pointing out students and wastes class time with rude comments. Sleeps in his office and wears same clothes the next day. Never knows what will be on the exam and if he tells you, it's not true. This is not a learning environment it is Hell!!! Run!!!
He does not know how to teach. Lectures are long and confusing. His exams require lots of study. If accounting is not one of your strengths, I recommend you avoid him at all costs. Take Phillip Lau, he is one of the best teachers on the campus. Hassan is unprofessional and sometimes very rude. I do not recommend taking Hassan.

He is a jerk. Really hard to understand. He does give good lecture notes when going thru examples. tests are fair, if u show up for class & study u should get a B. His personality is horrible, honestly, he spends more time telling people that they are annoying him & to switch seats than teaching, has bad accent. 3 tests, group project, and final.
Although he insulted me in front of class on several occasions, he does understand the difficultly of accounting. His exams are tough, but if you work hard and ask questions OUTSIDE of class, you will do fine. Unlike Lau, he TEACHES and class is essential if you want to pass. I would advise to ask questions outside of class and keep quiet during.
He runs his class like a 6th grade elementary teacher, constantly telling students to shut up and change seats. Always complains about the school budget (like anyone cares) and makes jokes at other students expense. No more notecards on exams and he expects you to learn the class on your own by reading the book. Then he'll speed through examples
Would hire him as my accountant, but dislike him as a teacher. Insulting students is no way to teach. Is a ten-year and does not follow the department rules. No multiple choice tests, so a lot of studying required. Constantly complains about how much President Gordon makes and spends. Read the book and study the exam packet!!!!
This class is the worst i've ever taken. He treats students like 1st graders, and forget asking questions in class because he will just make fun of you for not already knowing the answer. He moves through the material quickly and it is hard to understand his accent. The tests are hard, no multiple choice and take a long time to finish. DONT TAKE
i read the comments about professor hassan and i kinda have to agree with some, but disagree as well. he does tend to insult students continuously, and his lectures are pretty fast paced... but honestly, the class is challenging but fair and achievable. his tests require a lot of studying. and hes pretty humorous. overall, i liked taking his class.
Terrible teacher. Very challenging tests. The only reason I got a C was because he let us have a page of notes, which he informed us he would no longer be doing after the semester. He is very rude to students as well
He is disrespectful and rude to his students. He puts people on the spot and embarrasses them. His English is sometimes hard to understand, too. He does not make ACCT 201B any easier to understand. None of the tests are MC--you have work out the problems. He curves the exams because many people don't end up doing well. I suggest you don't take him.

His teaching is ok, if you try your best to focus you might understand. If it's your first time taking 201B I suggest not taking him.
Dedicated Professor! His class is very informative and often funny. No Homework, no quizzes; I never read anything in the book. All you have to do: pay ATTENTION in class, cuz his exams are all about what he taught in class. He covers less chapters than the other professors, so his classes are more relaxed. This professor was very difficult. He makes it seem easy but unfortunately it's not. He is a pretty funny prof. He is not that clear on assignments and even during his lectures. Has heavy accent. No scantron exams. All written exams. Very hard exams. Very difficult on grading exams. I would advise not to take him.

Had him for summer session. Take good notes. Books is hard to follow. He jumps around a lot and the book teaches a different way. He hates later comer, and people leaving room for phone call. Otherwise he's really cool. Went to his Office hours, help me as much as he can. Maybe because I showed up for class? Know his rules or else.

Overall a good teacher. If you come to class and take notes you will pass. Is a hard grader, but if you are samrt the class is not that hard.

He comes off as a tough teacher but he really wants students to learn and apply his teachings to the real world. I would recommend taking this teacher if you like to learn. 70% of your grade is due in the last two weeks of class, you don't know what you have in the class until grades are already submitted. Test are hard, if you want to pass don't take him. He prides him self on teaching a subject that has a 1.8GPA.

Hassan is a really difficult teacher. He knows what he's doing, but he's not too great at teaching it in a comprehensive manner. Many of the students didn't understand him. It took me a while to get used to the way he teaches. I worked -extremely- hard in that class and got an A. He curves.

But if you attend his class and take good notes, and actually PAY ATTENTION, the tests are easy. If you do not like essay-style exams then do not take this class! I prefer the way he teaches the subject bc Hassan only teaches a few things (but in detail) from the book. However, you must know the textbook material for final. I ended up with a B but worked my butt off! Hassan has a major attitude problem so beware.

wow....i'm really not a C student, but this class was horrendous. Reasonable curve 75% for a B, 65% for a C, but try to deal with a prof. with a total god complex. "real-life" problems on tests, thick accent, and a full 1:15hr class. If you need to find a reason to hate accounting, here it is...
To be fair, he is a good instructor, but his tests are way too difficult. Even if you think you have a good understanding of the material and can do the textbook problems, it will not reflect your performance on his exams. His tests are unclear, and it seems he likes to catch you off-guard.

Worst Professor I have ever had. First midterm is easy, but second midterm is ridiculous, and is not even close to what we went over in class. He likes to see his students suffer while taking his exams. To put it short avoid him, because he is an A$$ hole. I wish I could break his other arm.
Hassan is a very smart man. However, he has an Einstein complex, he doesn't clearly instruct the class. I got a real A in Fin Acct 301, in this class I came every day, read the text, did all his sample problems and still did poorly on the final. Dr. Hassan: please stop using the photocopied lessons, assign hmwk, review it, use the text!
He have Immature level of behavior. He asks to leave cellphone if u have to go to restroom. Rarely use textbook. Difficult accent (for me at least) and speaks too fast. Exam problems similar to lecture examples but time consuming and lengthy. Recording lectures is helpful. Overall medium quality with 20+ years of teaching experience.
He keeps asking student if we had any questions. He will get angry if you REALLY have question. Well... he sounds like he is angry or irritates that you have question. First midterm is straight from the his class example. Second, little mixed up but ok. Be aware of Final! Our class average was 44 out of 100. All Essay and few computations.
Kind of immature, likes to humiliate students. First and second exams are straight from the notes but final exam which accounts for 50% is out of nowhere. There's a study that teachers are more likely to get worse the longer they are in the profession. This guy's seniority is over 10 years, so I guess it sounds about right.
I really like this professor and his teaching style. But he loves to throw curve balls on the tests and rationalize later how we totally should have been able to answer it. It helps tremendously to record the lectures.
He likes humiliate students. Be aware for the final where you have no examples nor practices before, even the previewed finals did not helps. Avg Final Spring 2010 is 44% which counts for 50% of your final grade. Mainly avoid him
1st test is exact same thing from the practice test. 2nd midterm was a pain since there were only 2 questions, 1 worth 30 pts(ez) and the other worth 70pts(WTF). The final was hard, It is the only final where I actually used all of the time allowed on a final, and I am usually done w/ tests in 30 mins. Do your self a favor and avoid at all costs.
this man is hilarious, take him if you want to see a good actor, but he does knows accounting, and is entertaining because he acts like he is doing a lot, but he is not doing ****, people can learn from him. likes to BS a lot, hilarious, take him, he deserves an OSCAR for best acting job as an accounting teacher ever, but in a good way.

I took this course over summer, it's not so bad. He gives a lot of handouts and solutions so you have to go to every class. His exams accurately reflect what you learn in class. Some ppl complain about him throwing curveballs on the exam, but he always gives you a hints about what to expect. Always read any articles he gives you and book solutions.
One of the most difficult classes I've ever taken. You really have to attend every class, take good notes, and do all the reading. Hassan is definitely an old school professor. Don't take this class if you are thin skinned when it comes to insults. I will give it to Hassan though, I did learn a lot. Quite a challenge.

Professor seem rather friendly; however, he may turn around and pick on you and if he doesn't like you he'll hold a grudge against you from beginning to end. Him holding a grudge on students he may dislike shows how your grades may depend on his personal preferences.
You have to be a really good test taker to pass class!!! Need to practice examples over and over until you can do them with out thinking because you have a limited amount of time to do the hand written tests that really tests how effectively and quickly you can can figure out the problem.
Challenging class but I did learn alot. No multiple choice tests, all short answer and handwritten. Very knowledgable in the subject but I didn't like how he put down certain students. Overall,just expect to work hard in this class.
Does not use power point or any illustrative examples, discourages questions, moves very quickly, and will make even the brightest students feel inferior. If you can avoid him, it is in your best interest. Good luck.
Dont listen to all the bad ratings...the guy gives you a hard time if he respects you or you give him reason to. Goes over everything very well in class (so attendence is mandatory!). Tests are hard because he requires alot of writing, but the actual accounting is easy if you practice the many lecture examples provided. Go to class to pass!

Hassan spends 3/4 of the whole class rambling about ethics. Then when it gets close to exam time, he fires through old managerial concepts. This is followed by exams that don't resemble examples in class.His lectures were entertaining, but otherwise I didn't learn much of anything in this class except transfer pricing and balanced scorecard.
He is fair - you just need to show up for classes, listen and take notes, and ask questions if you need clarification. There were 2 exams, final and a paper - paper is only 3 pages, and all exams were based on handouts that he gave us with solutions. 2 midterms, 1 paper, & cumulative final. 1st exam similar to practice exam, 2nd exam & final comes from class handouts only. Wasted class time talking about school politics. Did a few in class problems, but they never showed up on exams. Always 5 minutes late to class & keeps you till the very last second. Gets annoyed when you ask questions.
Prof. Hassan is absolutely HORRIBLE. First, he assumes you know everything about Accounting already. If you don't...watch out, he will make you feel like an idiot. Simple questions will get you belittled. He runs through material and goes off topic frequently. He has no compassion what so ever and grades completely unfairly. STAY AWAY!
AVOID! AVOID! AVOID! I can't stress this enough. He doesn't care about his students, constantly puts them down, & is always late for class. 1st exam, just like example problems. 2nd exam, half is like example problems, the other half comes out of no where (he himself said it has nothng to do with cost acct). Final, nothng like example problems!
Horrible! Enough said. I passed the class with a B, but he was condensending, spent half the semester on "ethics" and teaches very little about accounting. Passes out a bunch of papers for you to memorize and read. Expect to stay the whole class. We would finish 30mins early, but when he saw the clock, he would just begin to ramble to keep us late.
THE WORST ACCOUNTING TEACHER...EVER IN THE LONG, SAD HISTORY OF BAD ACCOUNTING PROFESSORS. 'nuff said.
Avoid him! Very disrespectful to students. 1st exam was easy. 2nd was really hard. And final.. I don't knw where the majority of the questions came frm. Totally bombed the final. He gives lots of handouts and none are useful on final. Only helpful for 1st two exams. Take Karan instead. Karan was very clear in his lectures and exams had NO surprises!
The horrible experience in this class still haunts me. The first 2 exams were easy. He graded my paper wrong both times and after correcting them, I am up from a C to an A. The final comes out of nowhere. I ended with a C. The worst professor in the already poor faculty at CSUF.
The prof intentionly makes things harder. The tip is NOT taking his class.
If you want your gpa to drop, do not take Hassan. Took his class 2 times and didn't do too well. At least 4 other people were in class who has taken him previous semesters before, same class section.He does not curve at all because his syllabus is already. INTENTIONALLY MAKES IT HARD.UNCLEAR TEACHING! Took 1 month to finish chapter 1.
Hassan class is tough. Tests based mostly on lectures and handouts, but DO the problems in the syllabus, this will help a lot. He won't help you if you do not show up to class, but if you workout a problem and have SPECIFIC questions he will help. DONT miss class. Has his moments and is funny at times. I learned more in this class than any other

He is trying to be a better and nicer teacher now. First weeks he was mean but now he is trying to be nicer and tries to joke every once in awhile. He is still rough around the edges but hopefully he will keep on improving and become a good teacher. :)
Hassan is a very extreme professor. He is very rude to his students. His first test is very straightforward with regards to his teachings. His 2nd test and 3rd test hardly had any resemblence to his practice problems in class. Does not provide study guide, does not prepare students, teaches differently from the book, and is a very harsh grader
He can be extremely rude and condescending; especially if you ask a "dumb" question. But he is almost always willing to clarify things even if he whines about it. Don't goof off, sit near the front, and laugh at his jokes - and you will get by fine. If he doesn't like you he will have even less mercy on your grade.
This class was one of the toughest classes I have ever taken. You better dedicate a lot of time to study for this class. Studying the night before will definitely screw you over. Exams consist of calculations and essay questions so the textbook and attendance is mandatory. You'll never forget "EBIT" for the rest of your life after this class!
Hassan is an AMAZING professor! His course may be tough, just as long as you listen in every lecture & take good notes & understand everything he says, you'll do fine. 2 students got a 100% on the first exam so it is very possible. Focuses on CRITICAL THINKING!
Avoid at all costs. There is just too much information that you need to know for the exams. He is very unorganized because the material on the exam is determined by his mood. Always hands out a plethora of papers which confuses you even more. And he doesn't give a study guide which would definitely help out his students.
He gets sustenance of the tears of his students and lives to make others miserable. He teaches accounting but hates business and wastes class time proselytizing his radical left wing ideology and barks at anyone with a conflicting view. He is the epitome of a tenured professor abusing his position.
Hassan is a very thorough professor. He gives you everything you need to pass his class but you do need some critical thinking and reasoning to really ace the tests. His exam questions are strongly related to the examples he does. DO THEM and make sure you UNDERSTAND them. Tough professor but very detailed.
Professor Hassan is a disappointment in CSUF education system. He discourages students to the point that they hate accounting after taking his class. DO NOT TAKE him for your 302 , this class is already the most challenging 300 level accounting class. Dont make it harder by taking it with him.
Acct 302 is the hardest accounting course, do yourself a favor and do not take professor Hassam, Because he is going to make it more difficult by his insults and causes stress and tension in class by his comments. WORST PROFESSOR ever
I completely agree with most of the ratings on here. This is the worst professor I have ever taken. He takes no interest in teaching cost accounting whatsoever as he spends most of the class time talking about nonsense like his previous education and work history. Secondly, he is very condescending to some students.
One of the most challenging accounting courses I've taken, but if you're an accounting major, this class will prepare you for your career later on. Hassan makes you use critical thinking instead of just teaching the mechanics of accounting. I barely got an A in this class. Very strict professor, but will make you actually think. Take him!
Grade is based on 2 midterms taken in week 10 and week 15; and the final exam. If you want to do well attend every class, stay awake, take notes, and work out homework problems. I got a D because I did not work out homework problems. All tested material is covered during lecture which comprises 1/3 of all topics in the textbook. Practice, practice,
Professor Hassan is one of my favorite professors at CSUF! Although he covered quite a lot of material on his exams, he always gave us numerous practice problems to work on at home in order to help us grasp the material. You have to read the textbook and work through the assigned problems in order to do well on his exams.
One of the most challenging accounting classes but it will help shape you as a student and provide you with skills for the future such as critical reasoning and writing. Yes his tests are difficult but he provides numerous problems with an answer sheet and spends multiple classes helping you practice the material and grasp the concept.
With taking him for begin algebra and intermediate algebra he has show the class how to achieve the coarse material with easy steps to follow. Show up every day and take notes for all the equations done in class. Doing all the homework on math lab will help you with the class notes taken. I feel like he has better prepared me for college algebra.
Professor chooses only the most important chapters to cover, although semester was not balanced well: we spent too much time on the 1st part of the class, and, hence, needed to run over the remaining 2 parts very quickly, so the preparation for the finals was a bit stressful. To succeed you need to attend the lectures and make good notes.
Dr. Hassan was very hard to understand and any time we asked a question he got upset rather than responding to our questions. He was very demanding and hrad grader. I wish he would have applied the same standards to himself. He was my worst teacher.
I agree with those who say to sit near the front and pay attention. Don't be on a laptop, it will not do you any favors. The class consists of two exams and one final, so make sure to study for those. Do the practice problems and past exams he gives out, and you should have a good handle for the exams and final. And read the textbook cases.
Professor Hassan gets a bad rap because his test are incredibly challenging. With that being said welcome to college slackers. He challenges you to push your potential and genuinely cares about the knowledge he passes down to the students. His exams are tough but if you go to his lectures, do the practice problems (more than 1 time) you'll do fine
"Lazy Engineers" is his motto does not teach, just reads off of slides. Cancels class alot. Don't need to learn or show up to get an A. Hope he gets fired before
Professor doesn't put much effort into teaching. Slides are low-quality, and class is often canceled. With some self-study using resources like unstuck ai, it's possible to get a good grade without much work.
