he was substitute in this class for two days.....and somehow our student attendance dropped down ot half. he knows a lot....but sometime have problem sharing it ..and sometimes shares tomuch information about simple problems making it complex

please just trust me, if you have him...drop the class. I did get a C in the class bc of the curve. But I did not pass a single assignment the whole sememster.
The worst teacher that I have had here. Teaches you thing that have no relivance to the class. Staying awake is hard enough let alone the materical which he does not cover well
he is extremely smart but I am not sure if he is good at teaching regular math courses. it's better drop his class unless you wanna be a professional mathmatician.

VERY NEW PROF. TEACHES WAY ABOVE THE LEVEL HE SHOULD. THE PEOPLE IN THE MATH LAB SAY HE IS MAKING THE PROBLEMS TO HARD. I HAVE STUDIED MY BUT OFF AND I GOT A 110 ON THE LAST TEST, SO IM NOT BASHING THE GUY, BUT HE NEEDS TO TAKE IT DOWN A NOCH.
This teacher is very knowledgable but does not know how to relay information to students who do not understand the subject.He is very difficult to understand. Drop his class ASAP.

I took this guy last semester. DROP ASAP. He is probably a genius, but he cant communicate what he knows. Didnt stick to the book, test was on other material and no review material, dont know how youre to study for his test. He needs to teach calc 3.
The worst teacher I have had in a long time. Doesn't do a good job teaching the material. he skips around a lot, gets off on a tangent, and has horrible handwriting. I would definitely suggest taking someone else.
Very hard and extremely unclear. He seems to be intelligent but I learned nothing. Not a good teacher. I dropped by the midpoint for a W. So very glad I did.
All theoritcal, not practical at all. He spoke for almost 2 hrs on proofs one day. He does offer some extra credit. I've spent most of my free time in the math lab. I might hire a tutor because I can't afford to drop. DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS!!!!!
If you are smart you will not take this guy's class if you read all of these ratings. I have a 3.9 GPA and even I'm having a horrific time trying to figure out what he's teaching! He's a nice guy, but is making this class way too hard!!! Don't take...
Very bad professor. Even though he is very smart, he lack the people skills necessary to teach. Its all about theory with him, my suggestion is to drop this class as soon as you see him as professor. This comes from a person who is pretty good in math.

This teacher is ridiculous!!!! Although very intelligent, he still has not acquired the skill of actual teaching. He is very fast paced and confusing,his tests are from outer space, and be prepared to teach yourself everything! please drop this class now
This class is extremely hard, and not really precalculus. If you take this class, make sure you do better than most people in your class. Everyone will have a very low score. He grades you relative to everyone else's score.
Great example of "A Beautiful Mind" professor. Nice guy, lack of experience with high-level(i.e. simple, basic) explanation of subject material. Prepare to be amazed and confused! Sorry Raj, but I gotta say DROP to those in your path.
It is almost impossible to understand what he is talking about. His tests are ridiculous! He made the kid next to me change his major from math to business. Drop him!
I agree, this guy is a bad teacher but a nice guy, He's not clear when explaining things and teach way... too fast. test are very confusing. He just doesn't know how to explain things in plain english. he has to explain it in the complicated way. DAMN! do not recogmen him at all.
As an "A" student I have to say that he seems to know a lot about math, but knows nothing about teaching. Whenever he is being asked a questions he ignores it. I hated every minute of being in the class. Extremly confusing, unclear, makes it difficult. He is my worst experience. He needs to go.

Very cute, smart and caring man, but awful teacher! He knows EVERYTHING about math, but cannot teach it to students. Great guy, but horrible class. Don't take unless you want to fail!!

i took calculus 1 and 2 with him. he is pretty smart and he knows alot in math. i got A in both classes and those were easy A's. anyway, if you are not good in math, dont take him. but, if you like math, u're gonna be ok.
I wish I had known about ratemyprofessor.com before I took this class. Mr. Raj is brilliant, I'm sure, but does not have the proper communications skills required to be a teacher. He is studying System Theory in Mechanical Engineering at Ga. Tech, and probably only teaches as it is required.

As a person he is nice and brilliant, however don't take his class if you aren't a mathmatician. You will end up spending all your free time in the math lab. He teaches on a level not meant for the average brain.
Wow! I have never had an experience like this. My aptitude is average at math and sometimes above average. I tried with his class in the beginning but quickly became lost and frustrated. He is a highly intelligent individual who does not know how to relate to average individuals. Unless you are dying for an "F", don't do this instructor.
Intellectual man, take him if you want to get a good basic understanding of calculus or any math. If you can't follow, read the book, more easier than him. Curves in the end, and ample amount of intuitive solvable extra credit problems. Don't take him, if you are not well acquainted with basic trig and precalc. he won't go over it.
Awful Teacher!
he's unbelievably hard! that's all i can say.
He knows alot about math but has no idea how to teach pre calculus. He talks about a lot of things that are not in the book, and that the average student will not understand, he is not helpful, and he does not teach the class in the sequential order of the text. If you are a normal person and want to get an A it is best to avoid him.
I too wish I knew about ratemyprofessor.com before taking this class, Mr. Raj is a brillant man, almost like the movie a beautiful mind, but he is so brillant that he can not teach his talent. He also does not go with the flow of the textbook, in my class he started in chapter 10 and then combined 1 and 5 with that as well. Do not take this class!
If you want to kill your G.P.A take this class.Im an "A" student but got an F in this class he is the worst teacher at GCP. Dont take him drop as fast as you can.

he is a very sweet person. with that said, his class is ridiculiously hard. he is so smart but its hard/impossible to follow in class sometimes. I somehow got an A even though I definetly made C's and B's on most of the tests, so there is hope. if you work like crazy then you wont fail, but dont take it if you need to maintain your gpa
I have no idea why people give him bad reviews. His course is very easy to an A in. The only thing that makes it difficult is that he goes through too many theories instead of examples. But other than that if u understand him, it is EASY to get over 100 in his course, and he is VERY lenient on marking and has a lot of extra credit work, which r a b

A tough class anyway...If you have any clue about math he's not hard. He is a very smart teacher, but has a teaching style like none I've seen before. His tests are brutal-make sure u know the info. inside and out.

Mr. Raj is a great professor. Sometimes it is hard to understand him, but if u ask questions and read over the notes and do a few problems, it all becomes crystal clear. He is the type of professor who will give u reasons for y wat happens in a problem, and becaz of this people don't like him, but i think its great. Don't listen to the bad reviews.
just pay attention to wat he says. if u don't underdstand ask questions or go to his office. he is really nice and always helpful. i will take him again for Calc 1
This guys was great. He is so easy going. u can turn in HW late, take make up tests if u have a good explanation, so many extra credit stuff-10% and my personal fav. - try a problem, u will get marks for trying even if it is completely off and haywire. he looks like einstein, lol. he is very helpful,i'll take him linear algebra. he is good.trust me

Very personable and willing to help. However, he emphasizes the theoretical too much and neglects the practical. His tests are difficult and the final is an atrocity. Don't avoid him but don't expect to cruise to an A.

First off I think he is gorgeous,,, moving on. He is very smart but way too smart to teach. It's like he is speaking another language when he is lecturing. You have to be a math genius to truly get it. Take his courses if you already have a good comprehension of the subject.
Yes, he is smart. Yes, he loves writing his notes on board which makes everything clear when you review it. Attendence is important because he may go fast in one lecture. His tests are doable. His grading style is flexible, and he does not take your arithmetic mistakes seriously. As well as you know how to do the problem, you are fine.
He's very focused on teaching. A little hard to follow most of the time. He teaches on the blackboard, have your book as back up so you'll understand what's going on. He's direct, but nice.

Very smart, knows his stuff, however, he is not a very good teacher. You must read your textbook throughly to understand what is really going on. The majority of the class was totally confused. He is fair with his grading if you show that you tried. His test are rather difficult.

Professor Raj is a intelligent teacher, but he teaches in a confusing way that makes learning difficult in his class.
I think Raj is a great professor. He loves what he is teaching and explains the material so you can understand it. He is very generous when it comes to grading. Plus he has a great personality.
Professor Raj is definitely one of the smartest instructors at the college. He proves everything before showing examples, which provides students with a greater understanding of the material. His class can be difficult but you will leave the class with a greater understanding of the material. Do your homework and read the book and you will do fine.

Introduction to Statistics is a pretty simple class but Prof. Raj makes it complicated. He is too smart and needs to publish his own txtbook . At times his notes were different from the textbook. If you're weak in math ,do not take! If you're a self learner, you'll do well. Lastly, there is plenty of opportunities to earn an A.Just do the work
Run...dont walk...to the nearest exit!His test are like what you'd expect for an entrance exam into the NASA Space program AND they have nothing to do with his incomprehensible lectures! He teaches you "the hard, long way" on purpose. He's seems nice but actually he's about as nice as a deadly virus...your GPA will suffer. You've been warned!
A very smart guy. He makes you understand the concept by giving tricky test and quiz questions. DO YOUR ASSIGNMENTS!That's the only way out.

He's super intellegent! He is like a modern mathematician! His class IS hard, but he teaches how to use "math", not just how to solve a problem from textbook like many other professors(useless). If you are a type who wants an easy class, DON'T take him , but i never regret taking his class. I passed with high A, and i did really hard in his class.
THE GOOD: Mr. Raj is a nice guy and extremely smart. He allows you to use notes for test. THE BAD: He does not know how to simplify the information to where one can grasp it. I am an A student in math and science and found his tests very difficult (even with notes). I got a C for the course. BOTTOM LINE: Avoid him if you care about GPA. Wait and take Rusodimos, Barzegar or Lu.
Calculus II...The guy is very smart but wow........the tests are nothing like your homework, he doesn't care if you got the right answer, and he's a **** when you talk to him. He actually told me in his office that he feels his talents are being wasted here at GPC, and that this job is beneath him. DO NOT TAKE.
He is very smart and knows what he is talking about, but he doesn't know how to explain what he is talking about. For those of you who struggle with math, do not take him. For those of you who get it, not a bad choice,but not the greatest either. In order to understand the material, force him to explain it in your terms. Got an A on the last test.
He's a nice man, but has no patience in explaining simple algebraic equations and forgets he's teaching a remedial course and most of us have been out of HS algebra for over five years! He will however drop your lowest grade and may offer extra credit. Do not take him if you are not efficient in math.
I took him for Linear Algebra. He is smart, and you must have basis in Math in order to catch up in his class. His tests are doable. Make sure you understand the homework. He gave extra credits but it wont change your grade much, so dont lay on extra credit

Everything these folks say is so very accurate! Worst teaching I have ever experienced. Only people would survive him are accelerated learners with strong base. Sure wasted my time and money!!!!!
Very smart man, maybe not for teaching LS math. At the final exam,there was only half of the class remain. It was frustrating being in his class because it seems like he is teaching himself. When you wants to ask him a question about thing he'll say " go back to the syllabus ". This professor is no help for learning support students.DO NOT PICK HIM

Don't listen to these ppl!! I thought he was a great teacher. He is very helpful and clear.he gives a quiz every class which goes over what you learned in the previous class which should be easy if you go home n practice! more quizes mean more grades to add to overall grade which gives you a better chance of passin.work is requied but it's not hard
I took him for two classes, and he is alright. A lot of my classmates didn't do so well, but I don't think they put forth the effort. He is a little dry and takes forever to grade, but the classes were informative, the tests were reasonable and over the material covered, and he was reasonable overall.
If you are willing to put the work in, you'll do just find. He grades very easy and he always gives you points if you try the problem. Some students don't put any effort in because they don't like the way he teaches but if you pay attention it will be easy to get an A
I found his tests to be challenging compared to his study guides. Does not always grade tests and quizzes promptly. Requires effort on your part, paying attention in class, and plenty of practice in order to accomplish an A. Very nice guy unless you disrespect him.
