if i spoke her language, maybe i would have done better in the class. she is very unorganized and gets frustrated easy. here is a tip take classes with professors whose last names you can understand
Her accent wasn't a problem and she was extremely helpful.
She mixes up her words with what she writes. She says "sure" a lot. The only good thing is she grades homework and test problems pretty easy. She isn't too hard to understand...she just can't say some words, like "parallel".
her answer to EVERY question is "sure!"
The stats material is very hard and she goes too fast. On the plus side, she is very nice and helpful. She genuinely cares about your grades and she's completely fair and easy in grading. The material is difficult but I feel that shes a good teacher to present it
Don't be alarmed that she is very foreign and has a strong accent which makes listening to her lecture difficult. She's very fair and you can tell she cares about her students learning the material. She's very nice, but also very boring. I would take another class from her.
This is a fast- paced class, but I believe it would be regardless of who was teaching. Yes, she has an accent...but in no way does it affect your understanding of the material. She is willing to help you if you ask. She really does care.
worst teacher ive ever had, had very poor word choice and is horrible at explaining problems. Students complained that they didnt understand but she claims its their fault for not doing the homework, but they couldnt do the homework because they dont understand her teaching. Also, test questions are very poorly worded

AVOID!! She is hard to understand and is a horrible teacher, she goes way too fast and gives a ton of homework. This class is the hardest math i have ever taken... lots of quizes and tests and you finish the whole book! She gives stupid projects, does not word the questions right and even failed to record one of my grades in her gradebook! AVOID!!

Wonderful!Subject can be difficult, but she does a wonderful job. Some say it is hard to understand her due to accent, but that is not true. She is good at explaining and covers the material in depth. Always available for meeting with students out of class. Overall,wonderful teacher, difficult class but VERY manageable if you take the time/effort
WORST.TEACHER.EVER. She talks to the chalkboard, and when she does face the class you cant hear her. Her tests don't follow the book whatsoever not to mention she doesn't use correct grammar on them and they are impossible to get an A on. Assigns homework every night and collects at the end of each chapter...Just avoid her.

One of the worst professors I have ever had to experience. I highly suggest never taking her class because you will have to teach everything to yourself due to the fact her lectures are pointless. The exams are very difficult and the assigned homework is irrelevant. Also, whenever she says "count" i swear it sounds just like the "C" word.
She talks very softly and is barely understandable. Good luck on the final exam, its a grade killer. She is somewhat helpful but the class is way too much work for a low division class. Avoid taking stats for life sciences with her if you can unless u want to work extremely hard.
Dr Vezvaei truly did try to be helpful, but I had a very difficult time understanding her. Her wording was just incomprehensible to me, I have no idea how anyone in the class could understand anything she said.

Very nice, and super smart. But not very helpful when it comes to explaining things. She sticks to definitions and not very many examples. Avoid if you're a visual learner.
This class was HARD. She is very, very intelligent, but has a hard time teaching it to us students. She just assumes we know everything. Understanding her was not an issue. Semi fair grader. A good grade is definitely attainable, you just have to really work for it. She does not hand out grades at all.
She was not hard to understand at all and she taught the material clearly. Most of my class didn't bother to show up and blamed her for their grades. You get a week to complete 4 assignments that are just check marked. semi-difficult material but if you go she knows more than most math professors and talks more clearly than some american professors
The worst professor I have ever had in 5 years of college. Please do yourself a favor and avoid her like the plague. Her intentions may be good, but what you will end up with is paying hundreds of dollars to teach yourself statistics and a less than ideal grade. I currently have a 3.8+ gpa, but I will be earning a B or C in her class.
You could tell that she wanted to help the students, but she wasn't sure how to. She was very nice, and curved a lot of the exams, but she couldn't teach very well. The book was awful too. I had to buy "Statistics for Dummies" to pass the class.
Okay lady, okay teacher. Has an accent and speaks very softly so it can be hard to hearunderstand her. Attendance is mandatory. Textbook is needed to do the homework which is graded for completion (but you must show your work). Lets you use notecard on exams.
Took Intro to stats with her & she's terrible. She gives her notes on a piece of paper over a projector, you can barely read her hand writing, she goes way too fast, & you can't understand what she's saying. Her tests are out of 100 with only 25 questions so each is worth 4 points so you can't miss more than like 2 & over materials never taught.
She was a very kind, nice, understanding professor. She walked the extra mile to help me each time I went to her office hours. She does have an accent, but she speaks with clarity and relays information well. I learned a lot from her class and she was one of the best profs I had. I declared a math minor after her class. recommend.

Highly recommend if you have to take Stats. She is extremely helpful and truly cares about all her students and their success. I found her tests to be fair. Its a hard course, but she does everything to make it simpler and understandable. Helpful especially if you see her in office hours.

This is a tough class, but she is really nice and overly helpful. She gives lots of homework which prepare you very well for exams. I recommend her if you have to take the class, since she will absolutely help you with whatever you need.

Terrible. I did not miss one class but still my grade suffered. She also doesn't follow her syllabus (grade wise) and if you correct her she'll argue. Only thing I liked was my group.
This is one of the most difficult courses I have taken to date, but she is very helpful and will assist you with whatever you need. Her homeworks are a good preperation for exams and you will learn a lot in her class. She is really nice. She has a strong accent, but nothing you cant get used to.
Nice professor but sometimes hard to understand (accent/soft spoken). I don't suggest her if you can't self teach. Assigns homework but doesn't actually grade so you don't know if you're actually doing it correct or not. I've never received anything below a B in any math class, I failed this class though.
The worst class I have ever taken. The lectures are impossible to understand if you aren't already fluent in the material. The homework is only graded for completion so you never know if you're doing it correctly. She doesn't follow the grading scale. Tests don't match up to lectures AT ALL & you never know what grade you have. AVOID!!!!

I have a 3.6 GPA, and this is the only course I have ever received a D in. Attended every class besides one, did all the homework, and realized too late that the only way to pass this class is by Khan Academy and the book. Attendance should not be mandatory for classes such as this.

This was an extremely difficult class, because her English isn't great and she has a thick accent. Her writing isn't clear and she moves extremely quickly. I learned more doing the homework than I ever did in the actual class.
Professor Vezvaei was one of the best math teachers I've ever had. I learned so much in her statistics course, her approach is easy to follow and clear, though she has an accent and she is always accessible to students. Tests can be challenging, but the learning experience makes it worthwhile.
GOOD PROFESSOR. taking advantage of office hours is a must. If you're willing to learn and she sees that, you will reap a lot out of the class. There are so many students who skip class, but if you do the homework and see her during office hours, you can easily do well. She is helpful to all students.
Wasn't even sure if I would pass stats cause she never used Blackboard so I never knew my grade. Luckily I studied hard for the final and before the quizzes and exams and managed a B-. She is difficult to understand and has horrible handwriting but she does care if you understand it. Homework was usually much easier than what was on exams.
Found her to be a great stats professor. expectations were clear and she was tremendously helpful to me.

Has a strong accent, but a great professor who takes great strides to make the class as non difficult as it can be. She is very nice and was extremely helpful to me, and you can tell she wants every student to do well. She sometimes talks a little too softly, but she genuinely cares. I found exams to not be too difficult, and she curves, which is a rarity in the math department. I would take her again.
First and only time I actually had to read the textbook to understand what we're learning. Her thick accent and unclear hand writing make it hard to understand her. I know she wants us to learn but it's hard to do with her. I had already taken a STAT course, and I think I came in knowing things, but came out knowing less.
This teacher had a heavy accent and never really wanted to guide me along after I had explained to her that I struggle with math. I did everything I could; Homework, participated in class, did in class assignments, and read yet I still could not understand. She made it very difficult for me to learn as she was not very clear during her lectures

good stats professor in my opinion. this course is tough as nails, but she does anything in her reach to alleviate the worry, and you come out learning a lot and if you pay attention to everything she says you can do well. one of the best in the math department

Vezvaei was one of the best math teachers Ive had in my time at Kent State University. I learned so much in her statistics course, her approach is consistent and expectations are clear, and she is always accessible. Yes, her tests are quite hard, but so would any other stats prof, but the learning makes it worthwhile.

Took stats a few years ago with another prof and withdrew. Took it with her last semester and received a B. She is so knowledgeable about statistics and extremely open to helping students and really kind also. Her homework is a valuable resource as well. The people who complain about not doing well, are often people that don't take time to do hw.
I was nervous about this class and it was difficult, but that was just the nature of the material. She was a wonderful mathematics professor. She really prepared us well for exams and was always accessible and wanted to help. She was also a very kind lady. Will try to take her for another math class down the road.

A bit of an accent, but absolutely brilliant. Because of her, I loved statistics. She likes to teach, pretty clear, and lots of practice solving problems, which I really liked. She just expanded the book instead of presenting entirely new material, and she was always willing to answer questions. Don't forget to go to class! many, many people skip

She was hard to understand, and after she was done lecturing we would work in groups and no one ever knew what was going on. The homework did not help prepare me for the class, which was alarming because it would take hours to do. The exams and weekly quizzes were really hard.
Gives you a lot of material to work from. Is very kind. Tries to help you in any way. What she lacks in terms of having an accent, she makes up for as far as her dedication, kindness, and dispersion of many practices to aide in your learning. I found her to be a great math professor.

Dr. Vezvaei wasn't very good at explaining things, which isn't necessarily her fault because Enlgish isn't her native language, but it made taking her class very difficult.

This class was by far the worst educational experience of my life. If it were not for my table mates, I would not have passed. I spent over 20 hrs a week on homework and studying with little to no result. She can't speak or write English and doesn't know how to help you even if you approach her. Seems nice but shouldn't be teaching. Avoid her class
The most confusing professor Ive ever had. No one in my class knew what was going on and I dont feel like I learned a thing. I just desperately memorized equations that I didnt even know the purpose of.

Her test are very hard. Very confusing. The test have nothing to do with what you do in class. She gives out pop quizzes as extra credit. Takes attendance. Ask her to bump your grade at the end of the semester and she'll probably do it.

Class is extremely difficult, have to teach yourself or have a good table to pass. Lots and lots of online homework, and she constantly is switching due date without telling. Horrible.
If you have her as a professor, youre gonna have to teach yourself. Having a good table always helps too, but in general her class was very difficult due to her not explaining things very well. When you ask the teaching assistant he is not much help either. Its tragic because she seems like a sweet lady but as a professor, avoid at all costs.
The assistant is very moody for absolutely no reason and judges you if you have a question. You cannot necessarily understand what she says since she has a thick accent. Lectures are tough to understand and follow through on. Quizzes can be difficult.
Dr. Vezvaei is okay. I had her for Statistics. Her GA, however, is WAY better at teaching than she is. She goes extremely fast with the notes and sometimes they're hard to read because of her handwriting. But if you do all the homework then you'll pass the class. Even if you don't understand the problem there is homework help for each problem.
Hardest Class I have ever taken... I had to dedicate entire weekends to studying for exams. The lectures are sporadic and unclear. I had to take this class for my major and it was not an Easy A. But, Professor Vezvaei is an incredibly nice person. She will Help you if you show to her that you care and are putting in legitimate effort.
This professor does not spend time making sure students understand the criteria. She moves way too fast during lectures, and is very hard to follow and understand. You are teaching yourself everything in this class. This class took up all of my time that I was behind in every other class. Very unfair. Chapter notes, homework, quiz, exam.
She seems very sweet outside of teaching but this was by far the worst class I have ever taken. Lectures way too fast & doesnt explain well, changes due dates, doesnt go by the syllabus, grades hard on homework (very rushed), lots of online homework, tests are mc but contain a lot of material, assigned seating, etc. 10/10 do not recommend.
This was by far the hardest class I have ever taken. The professor seems nice when you talk to her but she doesnt teach you in class. She goes through slides and expects you to understand it and know it. You have to teach yourself in this class and its not easy. There is a ton of online hw and tests are multiple-choice but contain a lot of info
It was a really tough class. Professor was a nice person but you will never know what kind of questions are going to be on the test. I still remember being at the library at 2-3am and didnt know what to study. Had to work really hard though she helps a lot during office hours. Get ready to work!
Bad at teaching and English, introduces variables without telling you what they are. Extremely hard to understand. For a basic probability and stats class, this was my hardest class of the semester. Don't take her!!
DO NOT take this professor if you have the choice. Her class is boring but if you don't go, you will definitely drop multiple letter grades. There are worksheets you have to do with your table and then turn in at the end of the class. Usually you don't get done with them and have to do it for homework. However, if you need help she'll help you.
This professor is almost impossible to understand. She is unorganized and confusing and refuses to type notes and "draws" them instead. Please take another class if possible.
Prof V is very hard to understand and often "draws" notes instead of typing during virtual classes. Makes math VERY difficult. Grading heavy and always has an attitude.
I did not like the way her attitude was towards her students and she overloaded us with assignments. The website would always crash and it was nothing she was able to help us with... it was something we needed to figure out ourselves. I was paying tuition to teach myself. Her lectures were horrible to understand and she never helped you one on one
If I had 1 day to live, I would spend it in her class, bc it would feel like an eternity. Most boring lectures of all time. Also, a lot of the homework answers were wrong & she acknowledged it & didn't fix it. She gave 5 bonus points to "make up for" those instances, but I lost out on over 30 points bc it was marked wrong when my answer was right.
Listen, I'm a straight A STEM student in my 3rd year and Basic Probability & Statistics was the HARDEST CLASS I'VE TAKEN SO FAR! I had to teach myself everything and only attended lectures for the points. And at the last week she suddenly assigned 300+ points worth of homework! (weekly average before that was like 20 points per week)
Nice lady that is willing to help. My issues with her this year with the classes being virtual: 1) no clear office hours or 1 on 1 help 2) writes her note on the whiteboard which makes it hard for students to understand what she's writing and 3) webassign homework issues. Often had to spend days studying and never knew to expect on exams.
I could write an essay on how bad this professor is but I don't have enough characters to do so. If you don't go to class, don't expect to pass, but also if you DO choose to go to class you still won't understand what's going on. She is impossible to understand both audibly and visually and homework has nothing to do with what is covered in class.
if you have the option to take this class just dont find a better teacher. she is a nice lady and she wont let you bomb the course, but you have to work for it. all of the test/quizzes are nothing like what you are learning they are so hard. This professor was hard to understand and made coming to class quite a chore. I struggled so much in this class and on tests. she didnt properly answer questions. Barely passed
I became slightly behind, and later just gave up altogether. She made the class so hard to go to. She barely explains anything, or she does it very poorly. Her voice pretty much put me to sleep when I was in class. There were lots of homework assignments due every week. 3 online assignments, 3 nights of work in the book.
Do not take math with this professor. She is very hard to understand and she does not explain concepts well at all. The things you learn in class or lack their of are barely in the homework. So you go to the homework and feel completely lost. I am not bad at math, I got a B in my last math class. Just horrible and the homework takes you hours.
This class is HORRIBLE. The lectures are long and monotoned, she doesn't explain homework or concepts, and she is hard to understand. She can barely spell. Before the exam, you will have 90+ online problems (most are like 1a-1d) on top of workbook assignment pages. The only grades she puts in the gradebook are quizzes and tests, no homework.
This was HARDEST class with the biggest work load I've ever had. The material is not taught to you in a way that is easy to understand. The only way I passed was asking the TA questions and the homework help on MyLabs. Pick a different prof bc other profs allow two tries on tests, but she does not. She is a nice lady but very hard to understand.
The first two weeks of class Dr. Vezvaie was sick and we did not have anyone to fill in. The HW, quizzes, and exams were online, but the final was in-person, and the questions were noticeably different. So how we learned to answer questions was suddenly undone on the final. She occasionally gives out extra credit. Great person, aggravating prof.
Absolutely awful. Find anybody else but her. Does not understand how to use a projector, students were correcting HER when she explained things to the class, homework was long and sometimes had the wrong answers. She explains absolutely nothing and when you ask for elaboration she makes you feel dumb. Lied about what was on final and tons failed.
This class made me have mental break downs just about every week. No one at my table could understand her and her handwriting and teaching skills are EXTREMELY poor. Pop quizzes/sometimes two quizzes per week along with hours of online homework and textbook. She never offered help or let alone answered emails. I regret taking her class.
Very difficult to understand both when she spoke, and when she wrote down stuff on the board. Would often confuse the class by teaching incorrect info and not correcting herself. Besides this, she is super nice and it does seem like she cares about making sure you succeed.
Very difficult to understand, her handwriting is awful sometimes completely illegible. Often misspells things/ Solves problems incorrectly without correcting herself. Moves on from notes very quickly before students have time to copy them from the board. Overall a very frustrating class. Would NEVER retake this professor.

She is a very sweet lady and you can tell she wants you to learn the subject. However, she can be difficult to understand and gives quizzes that are difficult to pass. Its not an awful class but if you can find an easier professor id recommend it.
I've never broken down over a class more. You cannot understand her, her handwriting is terrible, homework is wrong, exams are messed up and wrong. Without the graduate assistant, I would probably be failing. I was constantly teaching myself things and overall just extremely anxiety inducing. If you can take someone else, do it

This class was a real challenge, but unstuck ai helped me prepare for the tough quizzes and exams. The professor has a thick accent, so attending lectures is a must. With hard work and the right study tools, you can manage.
DO NOT TAKE THIS PROFESSOR!! This is THE worst class I have ever taken. I have had multiple breakdowns, and I give up on looking both ways on my way to this class hoping I will get hit by a car. She is extremely hard to understand and illegible. Even the TA doesn't know what he is doing, she randomly gives pop quizzes and I consistently fail them.
