Avoid this professor at all costs. If you don't believe what everyone else is saying just check her grade distribution. She doesn't grade any labs, cancels class randomly, and never gives any feedback on exams. On top of being unprofessional, she's still picky and rude to students when she makes more excuses than the whole class combined.

OChem is hard; online is harder. This class requires a significant amount of time (I put in at least 40hrs/week). Exams are quite challenging. Lectures are pre-recorded, so there are not many opportunities to ask questions. Grades are returned very slowly, and you cannot see what you did wrong.

Skip class? You won't pass.

Baristas organic chemistry class was very hard, in fact her grade distribution was lower than other professors in the department. I liked this about her class because only the best of the best could get an A with her. It had to be earned, not given.

Respectfully, I think Professor Bautista has no business teaching. Not that she does much of it when you take her class. All lectures are pre recorded and if you want to ask her anything you have to find time in your own schedule that also works for her. The labs were actually good, but they count for a small fraction of your grade.

Dr. Bautista is an amazing professor to take for Chem 10. If you pay attention to lecture and understand the homework you will have a great foundation for future chem courses. She genuinely care for her students and wants them to succeed so ask for help if you are struggling.

Bautista makes sure that her class is the more important than other classes you may be taking, she blames students for bad scores, refuses to go over past assignments, gets mad for asking questions that she expects you to know already. She'll also make you feel dumb for the questions you ask, and she also refuses to let you drink water in her class

One of the best teachers I've ever had. This is definitely a difficult class, but if you attend every lecture, stay on top of homework, and ask questions, you can earn an A. As someone who hates science, I was afraid to take this, but she was super organized, clear, helpful, and appreciated my questions. She really cares about students success.

Bautista was a great teacher and easy to learn from. She pushes you to do your best and expects nothing less. Everything you need is in the lecture so definitely show up. Her class is not that hard if you just show up and do the homework. She is super open to her students and always engages during her office hours. Take advantage of that.

Dr. Bautista is absolutely the most wonderful chemistry professor you could ever take. She is compassionate, extremely helpful, respect for her students time, and a perfect teaching pace. Labs are very interactive and she will answer any question you may have. Homework, studying, and office hours are very helpful in this class. TAKE HER!!!!!

Honestly a great teacher. If you listen carefully to her lectures, participate in class, ask questions and go to her office hours, you will succeed. However, she gives a lot of homework. Dedicate a lot of your time to this class. She really cares for her students and wishes for everyone to pass. My biggest advice is to go to her office hours.

Dr. Bautista has amazing lectures and it's super important to take good notes. The material builds on what was taught in early chapters so if you have any questions take advantage of her office hours. It's not difficult if you dedicate time in understanding your notes. Her grading can be tough but if you take your time on exams you'll do great!

Professor Bautista is such a wonderful instructor. She has made me fall in love with chemistry again. Her lectures are hilarious and she always makes sure that her students don't fall behind. Although this class is not an easy A and participation through lab reports, homework, quizzes and other work are needed to succeed. Highly recommended to take

She was such a good teacher and I really enjoyed her class. However don't miss class if you want to succeed because she goes very fast and if you miss a class is like failing half of the exams. the homework and lecture containing a lot of the information that she puts in her exams so studying those would be very helpful

Prof. wasn't hard, but gave too much busywork that's irrelevant to Chem 11. Pace OK, contrary to other reviews. Test content was fair, even easy-ish w/ effort. Doesn't write exactly what is due when/test content, etc on Canvas; need to ask around if absent. Hated her overly "positive" and controlling attitude. Dropped to save time/self-study

Idk why this professor has such good reviews, she does not make the material interesting or engaging, occasionally rude or disrespectful when asked questions and most importantly an absurdly tough grader. You will get an entire question wrong for the most asinine of reasons. I strongly recommend against taking her wouldn't wish on my worst enemy.

I'm only reflecting on my PERSONAL experience taking her class for chem 10. I thought her lectures were very helpful and informative. She was very clear about topics and made sure we built a good foundation for the later chem courses. Gives lots of homework, but make sure to do it as it helped me a LOT. Laid a good foundation for me for chem 11.

Dr. Bautista is a great professor and person. She can be strict but she wants to prepare her students for the following chem courses. Don't miss a single lecture because you will fall behind! Do the homework, ask questions, and study!!! You don't really need the textbook but it is online. She is super helpful during office hours.

Dr. Bautista is a phenomenal professor who truly cares about her students. I highly recommend going to office hours as much as possible, even to ask one simple question. If you stay on top of the homework, attend class, and ask questions you'll be fine. Make sure to be thorough and go slow on exams as they can be tricky.

Probably one of the worst professors I've ever had. It's honestly crazy she has a 3.5 she deserves a 2. She seems nice on the first week of class but later on you'll see her true colors. Another bad thing is you can't even see your grade, at the end you'll have to calculate it and see if you passed or not. If you're already enrolled good luck.

Controlling. SO nit-picky. Her constant state is irritated & she takes it out on the class. If you do poorly on a quiz she throws a preachy tantrum for 15min straight. Nobody ever asks questions cuz she only answers rudely/condescendingly or snarks back with "Check your notes." The best version of her you hope to get is sickly-sweet helicopter mom.

Lacks ethics and fairness. Controlling, nit-picky, and dismissive. Grading is inconsistent—for example, points may be taken off for handwriting or capitalization. She will threaten point deductions for vague behavior, like missing small steps or not answering quickly. Grades aren't posted, so expect a lower grade than you think.
