too tough for no reason

Better teacher than what most people think. It's just a tough class

Great teacher! A bit scary and intimidating at first, but he's definately better than any other Comm 225 teachers! Prepares you for the exams, it's increadible
No Comments
hard course to teach but he is a good prof. explains clearly. make sure u listen and follow in the red book and then u are all set.
He's an excellent teacher!!! He's intimidating, but he really knows his stuff AND knows how to teach it! People who don't like him are people who expects things to come easy without hard work. Yes, he will make you work, but once you do, everything's easy
very good teacher. knows his stuff inside out, and is the greatest math whiz I have ever seen. expect to work very hard in this class, but if you have problems the teacher is always available to help you.
This guy loves to yell and tell the class how lazy we are. Bottom line this guy will work you so hard for the M.T.s and the final that what would actually be a hard exam seems easy in comparison. Get the red book.

he is really great!! do your assignments on time and never ask for an extension unless you want to be yelled at. he is stern, but knows his stuff inside out and is always ready to help his students!! he is fair in marking
One of the best out there. A bit stern with assignments but if you do his work, you will do great on the exams!

The best teacher every... no one else goes so far as to make sure you get it.
accusing innocent students of plagiarism...I can't believe it!

You know in my opinion I would say his personality is that he thinks he is the best and he is never wrong. He always says you should be organized but go to his office and you will see the real definition of organized. He likes tricking you and he does it well.
A real Grade Saver. Roll up your sleeves in this course, because you will be getting your hands dirty. "What is a node, sir?" "A NODE IS A NODE!!!!" Beautiful...
teacher is difficult to follow, very aggressive and raises his voice a lot, always answers questions with another question, bottom line is that you have to learn the material on your own for theory and use the examples he gives in class because he doesn't explain what he's doing.
He is a very bright teacher who actually cares about the students. He marks his students fairly, the midterms are very easy if you study. If you do your work and listens to him, it is very easy to get an A. I don't know why many ppl complain about him being tough.
he is very helpful. he is great teacher.
Old-fashioned, with little care about the audience, ready to help but does NOT help much.
This is the kind of guy that you want on your side. He is intellegent, and humorous. The class isn't really easy to begin with so don't automatically assume that it is the teachers fault for low grades. you must study and practice all of the problems. I highly recommend this teacher to everyone.
If you want an anthepatic and rude teacher is the guy you need. Asking questions in his class is the hardest thing ever, He just doesnt anwser and yells at you. No one should have to suffer with him. But, they say he is the best teacher out there... ???
Great teacher...smart, helpful and clear! Course is a bit tough, but if you do and understand the Course pack problems, you are set. Also, he is the cutest little man ever.
Is able to quickly show and write answers on the board. But when it comes to explaining and showing the meaning of such and such problem, it gets hectic at some moments. Forget about arguing, forget about getting good response from the teacher.
I recommend him for one reason: he writes the final exam, so he prepares you well for it by doing many problems in class and telling you exactly what you need to know. But he gets "mad" when students ask questions, does not explain clearly, and lacks control over the class.
Although he isn't a quite helpful professor, in this course you don't have any other choice because the other teachers are really bad. If you want to survive in this class, he'll be your choice only.
bad teacher
People don't like the teacher because they didn't get a good mark.. Comm 225 is hard so don't blame the teacher! He is the cutest man on earth! I definitly recommand him if you don't mind his old fashion way of teaching!
he is the best teacher for POM. the course is tough and ppl dont work hard enough & blame the prof.! he is a master of his subject and knows his stuff unlike most of the other teachers. Be regular to his class and do the problems from his coursepack & a good grade is gauranteed. he writes the final too!! i would definitely recommend him!
Very rude, makes fun if you ask questions, not helpful in his office hours, go for anyother teacher, its math so marking is fair everywhere.
This guy is a really good teacher when it comes to doing examples and explaining stuff, but he doesnt encourage people to ask questions and if anyone does, they generally get yelled at! but he is probably the best POM teacher at concordia so take him if you want to actually understand concepts!!
Great guy!
He is not very good at explaining. He doesn't take well to questions. You should try to teach yourself or with friends after he does the problems in class. The one good thing is you get a lot of practice in class. Don't get me wrong he practices but doesn't explain.
One of the best teachers I've had so far. He makes the class easy, and he writes the midterm and final. I also went to see him in his office a couple of times, and he was very helpful. He's a really good man. If he's rude to you in class, it means you're a moron and asked a dumb question. I highly recommend this teacher.
His explanations in class are very unclear! He does a lot of problems in class for practice, which is useless if you haven't understood the concepts. He is a tough grader and is rude if you see him for help during office hours. Take another prof if you can.
Great teacher. If u'r taking POM, take it with him. He's such a great man and knows how to teach students. There are some subjects that involve logic and he can't help you with how to think. Pressure is on you if you're indian...Not a heavy accent. He is very understandable and provides resources/ways of getting more practice!
Very smart teacher. Do not ask him questions in class, he gets pissed! Just take his notes and do his problems, the final is very similar!!!
Great prof. He explains everything clearly and does the problems in class, which is of major help.
i wish there were more prof's like him at concordia. simply one of the best. master of his subject. does so many questions to give u gud practice b4 the exam which he writes, n is quite similar. if u dont study n ask dumb questions, then he wont b ur favorite prof:)else he is a great prof, i wish i culd take him for other courses too...
what is said is true, dont ask question just follow and you ll do fine. the exam is exactly like the problems we do in class. best teacher for pom because all other are very bad
What a brilliant prof! He is very professional, intelligent, a master in Chaucer-he memorizes pages of Chaucer's Canterbury Tales and recounts them with a perfect accent at ease. He gives fantastic, clear, concise lectures. He is so helpful and kind. Plus he has a great sense of style and is...........very sexy! What a smile!!
he is very rude!!! dont dare to ask him for any help. he didnt add right the points for my midterm, but he didnt even want to look at it. however he prepares well for the exam.
If you want to pass, take him. Hard but will prepare you for the test.
He does not speak english. He prononces management, manament. Very hard to understand. Satir come back.
DONT TAKE HIM! NOT HELPFUL AT ALL. I am wondering how this guy became a course coordinator even though he wasn't teaching the course in winter06. My prof was out of town for two days before the final, and I went to sharma with a problem , and he is like "I cann't answer that question". WTF, he is a course cordianator. HE should't be teaching at any
This teacher has issues. HE IS RUDE. RUDE. RUDE, i cannot stress the word more. This man is ignorant, uncivilized, and doesnt know how to talk to students. Good luck understanding him speak too., Oh and btw, did i mention he was rude?
there is no doubt that this guy aint the politest person, but the fact is that many dumb ppl take this course, who dont try to understand things & blame the prof to b hard, rude, etc. this prof is 1 of the few profs at conc. univ. who knows his stuff! btw, he is helpful, just make an effort to go see him in the office hours & dont ask stupid questions.
If you want to take a course that doesn't use computers to make a simple calculation and is taught like if we were in the 50's, this is your course. The professor concentrates in teaching math calculations when we have computer to solve this, zero in management application and zero in usefulness. A useless course
Prof sharma is an old school teacher , A bit tough sometimes ,but he is very nice, For pom he is an amazing teacher, teaches the class for about 20 years .Prepares you for the final , Professor Satir is amazing too
Sharma is a bit old school and does everything the longer way. This doesn't take from the fact that he is a good teacher and a good guy. Any pom class is hard so you should read the chapter before you go to class. If you do this you will learn to love Shawerma!
I took professor Sharma during my undergrad for POM & loved him. He's not as lenient on mba students. He's very helpful if you go see him, but he doesn't like stupid questions & assumes a lot of prior knowledge. For the MBAs, I suggest you go see him about vogel's method & optimization cause class lectures don't prepare for the exam. Grades fairly.
he's ok but hard marker.
He is VERY HARD but KNOWS HIS****!!! you do a zillion problems a class which is great for the exams... you're prepared! BY FAR THE BEST FOR THIS CLASS ... AVOID KERMANI AND VALVERDE !!!! SHARMA IS BY FAR THE BEST
STUPID GEEZER! Damn hard hw, and the answer given even conflict with the exsamples in the book! He said he is really teaching you something, it's bull****! He doesn't even know what his responsibility is! Don't take his 215, EVEN IF YOU HAVE TO.
Talks too fast, does not like to be interrpted, and if you do so, you are in trouble!!
Hes not to clear when speaking. But if you understand his way of teaching you will find hes on eof the best in concordia!!!
this guy should be in EI benefit
WHY IS HE TEACHING?! He can't speak english, and goes on tangents where u cant understand what hes saying or trying to say. horrible, take tony mancini instead
This teacher's freaking horrible. Accent, unapproachable, not helpful at all. He won't answer you any question about the homework. I don't think he enjoys teaching statistics. Take Tony Mancini's section if you can. Try to avoid this guy at all cost. He's got an attitude problem.
Amazing teacher, he spends all class doing exam type questions which is amazing when it comes to studying. This is a hard class but this is the teacher to take. You do have to work really hard in this class but he's a great teacher and wants to make everyone understand.
run while you still can, half the time you can't understand what he's saying. the only reason i passed was because of tutoring or else there would be no hope. never again!!
He's not as bad as every1 says he is. He's ok. I had him for comm 215. The only prob i had was the fact that he teaches u more than u need to know for the exams and boggles ur mind with excess info. Besides that, he's NOT hard to understand and really does know his stuff. He's good. Don't worry u'll pass... just go see him.
Just because he knows the stuff doesn't mean he can teach it well.
Worst teacher I have ever had, hates his students, doesn't want to see them succeed. He thinks he's doing people a favor by failing them. If you go to class, you won't understand a thing. Has a terrible reputation even with the course coordinator.
Sharma's def the best there is for COMM 225. Just that the class is really annoying. But you have to take it, take him.
he is not good and not helpful to students. he never check your assignment. So if you follow his way to do the assignment, the tutor think it is wrong and he also think it is wrong. he is too rude to students who want to talk to him regarding the grades.
Sharma probably payed ppl to give him a good rating here cos it's not rocket science to figure out he's HORRIBLE. I went to ALL classes, went to tutors, took private tutoring because he couldn't explain good. Made things very complicating, never helped, and went TOO FAST. Guys a complete moron. Want GPA 2 go down then he's your man!! :)
PLEASE avoid this teacher! I went to every class, and yet still learned nothing. In the end, I had to go to tutoring just to grasp the basics! If you do get stuck with him: i) get a private tutor ii) go to crash courses AND iii) pray really really hard. Don't bother asking questions, he will just treat you like a total idiot in front of everyone!
Good teacher. If you do problems throughout the entire semester and do no leave it until the exams you wil be fine. It is all practice. Exams will look similar to class assignments.
He is most definitly the worst prof at jmsb! He's arrogant, and not helpful at all! Don't bother asking a question in class, he will make you feel stupid! Avoid at all cost!
Good class notes. Midterm and final are fair. I would recommend.
good teacher
BEST PROFFFF!! his exams are extremely hard but he is a fair graderrrr!!!!.. he just wants to see how the student thinks.. i lovedddd Profff Sharma and i wish he could teach me all my major classes!!
Sharma has a brutal honesty quality which might not be sitted with all student, but he can teach and he an prepare you for the exams like no other teacher, listen to him very good,he gives you all the points you need to know to get a good grade in his class, hard marker but fair exams.
These tips are for those who cannot switch out to another section: (i) sit at the front of his class and participate - he has favorites. Do yourself a favor, and be 1 (ii) if you do this, read ahead of class + pay attention -he will ask you lots of questions, and (iii) work with Marco (tutor) for extra hints! Do these and you are guaranteed an A :)
no need textbook. Although I didn't give him perfect record... This teacher is one of the best teachers at jmsb. He constantly helps the school by being involved and is one of the smartest teachers at jmsb. I love going to his classes, and he should really be proud of himself. thanks sharma
Sharma knows everything about POM. A very nice man who truly wants his students to succeed. He's very available for questions and good about replying to emails. The bad part is that he goes through the subject matter too fast. He should slow down and do more example problems with students in class. Homework and final exam were brutal. SOS can help.
BEST PROFF. HARD BUT HELPS YOU IN LATER COURSES! He loves to help and is a very friendly guy, knows his stuff in and out. He is TOO honest to be a teacher only but very helpful and understanding. good at understading the people so will catch if you try to fool him. overall OK.
AWESOME.AWESOME.AWESOME. seriously, if you have to take this course, sharma is your man.
Good teacher.Be prepared for classes and everything will be fine.
Excellent prof! He truly cares about his students and will spend as much time with you (in & outside of class) to help you out. Hard course, but he's very friendly, approachable and a nice guy overall. He spends almost all of class time on solving problems and he provides quite a few extra problems that are very valuable for exam preparation.
He is a great teacher. Wants his students to succeed. Great Tip: Get your hands on the SOS booklets for this class. Some questions are exactly the same on the midterm and final. Take this Prof!
I took his class two years ago and he still recognizes me and stops to talk to me the hall. I love Sharma. :)
Very easy class. His assignments are made tough and marked tough, but they are only worth 10%. Plus a 10% project that took me 1 hour to do. Midterm and final questions come directly from the book!!! I was stunned to see that! Anyways, if you study they assignments and problem sets, so the end of chapter exercises, you will A+ it! TAKE HIM!
Sharma is a very sweet man. He has an Indian accent that is a little hard to understand sometimes but if you go over the material before class you'll be fine. He does many problems in class and is very open to questions. He really wants you to ask questions!
Very good teacher. Sharma cares a lot about his students! He'll do everything (everyday office hrs, private help...) in his power to help you understand. He jokingly says that the reason he wants us so much to succeed is so he can have a good pension. May be a bit of an acquired taste but he's definitely someone who has an open mind. Take him!!!!!!
Exceptionally bad & incomprehensible. He mocks/insults his students. Harsh marker, average for the midterm was an F. I cannot understand why he wants to be a teacher. I am normally good at stats but he made being good impossible. Don't bother going to see him during office hours, wasn't able to explain my errors.
Mahesh is an amazing teacher & individual. I have to admit I wanted to switch out of his course the first class due to his accent & lack of interest, but all sections were full so I decided to give him a chance. I'm happy I did because I learned so much. Many practice probs done in class & encourages attending office hrs. Will meet you anytime&day
Doesn't seem to care about students but when you take time to ask questions and go to his office he learn to respect you and help you. Only if you help yourself. Very smart man.
Great teacher. He is difficult to understand at times and you might have to repeat your question a few times but he is so helpful and kind. I recommend going to class because he really does explain everything well if you pay attention. Gives tons of practice problems, often much harder than whats on the exam, so you'll definitely be prepared.
Only take him if you're good at teaching yourself because he can't communicate properly . Also, always check your grades because he often makes mistakes in gradings. Good thing is he responds to mails promptly and he won't fail anyody.
If you take Mahesh, be ready to teach yourself. You don't hear him, he doesn't hear you. Choose wisely
Professor Sharma is nice. Notes are unclear though..
Took 361 and 363 with him good teacher. Really like him as he does not cover any theory in his classes it's strictly math. The exams do not really reflect the problems done in class. Be ready to think outside the box when doing his practice problems. In order to do well you must try to predict what he will ask you on the exams and google it.
A lot of self learning. Class time is spent copying problems he solves on the chalkboard with very little explanation as to how he is solving them. If someone asks a question, he gets annoyed and angry. Very little explanation on how to solve problems or the theory behind various topics.
Terrible professor. Grading very tough and unreasonable. Threatens to give lower grade if you question his grading. Would try to avoid in the future.
Solid teacher. Always ready to help. Youtube is very useful in this class. He curved us up by a solid 20%, he makes sure average is around 70% at least. Not the best at explaining but is always ready to help.
I would avoid this teacher. He is friendly but his classes are the worst. The delivery of his content is awful and his notes are not clear at all. It's time for him to retire.
Well, I have to dop the class after late DISC, the class average was 16/30 for the second mid, try harder if you really want to get a decent grade
I took him for SCOM 361 online, it is VERY VERY difficult. The material is not too tough, but due to his lack of teaching skills, it becomes very hard. Examples are, he blocks the chalk board while teaching, he mutters and mumbles, the notes on the chalkboard are not clear (this is online video), and yes, he gets annoyed if you ask him a question.
A nice person, but once you get the final exam, you realize you've been had. Also very lazy. Build your own quizzes.
I think the biggest issue is just the communication, if you attend all of his classes and see him during his office hours he really tries to help you out. To succeed in this course you must do all of the extra assignment problems that he posts, if you do those in addition to attending the lecture- easy pass. He is caring and hilarious!
this man has been teaching since the stone age and he should have stayed in the stone age. On multiple occasions he did 30 minutes of working out only to realize that he wrote the question down wrong.
