He makes the class so easy, it's a joke. However, you MUST keep up with the homework and frequently practice using the formulas. Makes the tests TOTALLY easy, gives partial credit and grades fair. He's also funny and interesting to listen to. Makes everything crystal clear. Homework assignments really help. I highly recommend taking him for 102.

Currently taking Algebra & Trig and he's awesome. I'm generally good in math: he moves at a pace that is super slow and breaks it down so that everyone understands the material, but just fast enough that it keeps me awake (and he always keeps me entertained). I'm registering for next semester to take Stats with him. Definitely take his class!!

Statistics can seem intimidating but he breaks it down so everyone can understand. he explains what to study for the exams and if you pay attention and do the homework he assigns which is about 1-3 problems at most you should get an A even if you suck at math like me!!

Very good and helpful professor. He's understanding and doesn't overload you with homework, so it's good for someone who works in addition to attending school. Not my favorite teacher so far. He is pretty clear with the lessons, but if you need help he'll criticize you and make fun of you. He is not cool about attendance(I had the flu and he wouldn't cut me a break) unless youre a hot chick. The worst part is, he's the type of teacher that will dump 6 chapters worth of work on you in 1 TEST

He is fair. If you come to class, you will understand the material. He makes sure that we, as a class understand the material. So if you struggle at math, then he will be the guy for you.

On the first day of class, he literally says that if you are absent from class more than 3 times, he will fail you, it is that simple. By the way, 3 latenesses equals 1 absence. The point is, GO TO CLASS!!!

MAT 109 = Algebra And Trigonometry. This class counts as an elective in Nassau Community College. In this class, just do your homework, and you're good.

Professor Pournazari does NOT give the full class time during tests. In my case, the class was 1 hour and 55 minutes long, but he gave 1 hour and 25 minutes for the test, a difference of 30 minutes. So, when you study, make sure you know how to do problems, AND how to do problems quickly.

He's a great teacher. He makes math easy for you. He assigns optional HW but do it so it could be a study guide for you. He gives 4 tests, the first 3 have 7 questions and the final has 10. Just remember formulas, understand what you're doing & you'll pass.

Take him! It was my 5th math class in college and class w Pournazari is best one out all 5. All bad best takers, not confident, and everyone else take his class. Take this professor for statistics! He is a wonderful professor! He explains things very clearly and makes sure that everyone in the class understands. He gives a total of three exams. The first one is very easy. The final exam is cumulative but he spends several days reviewing for it. Make sure you show up for the reviews! Definitely recommend.

He's a great professor, the material is pretty hard but effort goes a long way with him. He gives opportunity to succeed by extra credit and reviews before tests. He only grades you on tests and extra credit so its important you do good on tests.

I'm going for nursing and was never good at math. I took him for stat and OMG he's INCREDIBLE!!! he made everything super easy to understand and broke it down into steps. Every day there is homework (ungraded, but if u do it u'll do great on tests) and if u go up to the board 7 times to put a problem on the board he bumps u up a letter grade!

Excellent Professor for stats. He teaches the bare minimum, which means he will only do examples of what is on the exam. He gives a decent amount of homework and will answer all questions. There were times when students asked elementary grade math questions, but he had patience and repeated himself multiple times. Do all the homework, volunteer 7x.

Prof Pournazari was such a great professor. An easy course if you paid attention in high school Algebra. He only goes over similar questions he'll put on exams, which include hw q's. If you do his hw, which isn't mandatory for his class, but recommended, you should do fine. He was also funny and sarcastic. This made his class more enjoyable.

Great prof im currently in Calc now and miss the guy. Super Clear when teaching goes step by step and you really understand it. He's funny and helpful. By far my favorite teacher Ive ever had. He makes sure you understand everything he teaches and is great at explaining things you have trouble with. Very funny and creates connection with students. He will give questions from the textbook for homework and puts his examples in class on the tests. 100% recommend you take his class.

He is amazing and really knows his stuff! He wants you to pass! A couple things to note. He gets right to work, so dont be late. There are 3 tests (including final), you cannot use notes, so know your formulas! Also there is no extra time for tests so make sure you finish in time. He is a tough but fair grader.

The final is on everything but he picks the easiest parts from each chapter. Don't be late, and do not use phone. Very nice and helps students. Work hard to get the grade you want. Great professor. Test can be really hard if you dont study or struggle with Math overall but once he sees your effort trust me it doesnt go unnoticed. The textbook can be really confusing at times but he breaks down every chapter for you. I started the semester off bad but he encouraged me not quit and study more and I was able to pass.

He was a great professor in the sense that he made a difficult course very easy. He taught things in a way that made it easy to understand. However, your grade is based SOLELY off of your test grades. Participation, attendance, and homework don't help your grade, which is so inconvenient. He can come off a bit rude also. But, I'd take him again.

I took his online statistics class and he was a great teacher. He would tell us the exact format of the tests, including the final. There were only 3 of them, so there was not a lot to be graded on, but as long as you study/memorize the formulas, you will be fine.

Spring 2023. Phenomenal professor. Great personality. Respects and cares for his students. If you are not a math person, STUDY!!! Statistics is not like simple algebra. Simple, methodical teaching technique. Light homework. Three tests make up the majority of the class grades. No quizzes or online Pearson purchases. Extra credit for participation.

He had a good teacher and great teaching methods, but he would send an email to cancel a class, so you would find yourself driving to school for this class just for it to be canceled to see a note on door with no email. great teacher except he made me waste so much gas commuting for a canceled class

Prof. Pournazari clearly explains statistics step-by-step. Excellent instructor for students that struggle or have low confidence in math. Prof. P's classes are very enjoyable, and the majority of students actively participate every class. I would absolutely take other math courses with Prof. P. and also recommend him to others taking math.

As long as you pay attention and write down notes, you'll be okay. He likes clear and concise questions, and he's pretty straightforward. He can be funny at times, which was great. He uses the textbook, you can find it for free online (which is what I did), or ask anyone in class to take a picture if you wanna skip the hassle.

Genuinely The Best Professor I honestly have ever had. I was never the best at math, but the way that he explained everything and made it so simple was amazing. There are 3 exams and then 1 final, HW is never graded, but I recommend to do it as it made everything make sense.
