Be prepared to strain the entire class to understand Dr. Bishr. He has a very thick accent and doesn't make use of proper english grammar. He is very "book smart" but has little common sense or understanding. On exam day he used the first 30 minutes to lecture on new material. Dr. Dr. Bishr is very kind yet straight forward on what he expects out students. Lectures are heavy however he explains very clearly what he means, and makes sure everyone understands, gives examples or stories for better understanding (very charismatic and funny). He announces tests and gives study guides. Allows 1 index card for exams.

Mr. Bishr is very passionate about micro, I typically find science courses easier than any other but this summer I took micro & math while working full time & never again. He is fair and caring which I think helped me pass class. He has a heavy accent & he expects you to read your textbook & make sure you take notes. I think I would take him again.

Overall this professor was great. The only hard part is understanding him with his accent. He did take attendance and was very strict on needing to be at class but also understanding if there was actually a problem. He does expect people to answer his questions and will wait or call on someone until they do.

Dr. Bishr is a kind and playful man but it is difficult to tell if/when he is being serious and mean or joking because of cultural and linguistic differences. His Microbiology class is difficult because of the volume of information but almost everything is on the study guide minus a few questions come from the book review section.

Dr. Bishr expects you to be prepared for the course (moves fast and material is heavy). He knows the topics and explains them easily, the hard part is to understand him 100% with his accent (his handwriting doesn't help much either). If you want a good grade, DO NOT STUDY THE DAY BEFORE THE EXAM, 1 hour of review after class is more than enough.

He was condescending, treating us like disappointments. Most of the class dropped due to his sole reliance on test grades. He refused to let a student take the final early despite prior notice, complained about how "easy" we had it, and ignored emails about grades. Avoid him at all costs. dude refused to answer emails and stated it to us blatantly
