Hard to understand, cant explain material very well.
Can't understand what he's saying. Overhead sucks. One of worst profs ever.
Had him for two classes, another one of those that can't speak English, yet somehow manages to keep his job. May as well skip class if you read the textbook.
booooooring, very monotonous take a pillow
ZzZzZzZzZzZzZzZzZzZzZzZzZzZzZzZzZz.... You get the picture...
do NOT enroll in ANY class he teaches. He's not HELPFUL at ALL, plus REALLY boring. He just reads the ppt slides. And when you skip his class, he gets mad. Not worth the headache.
terrible, it's an online course. all the things he provided was only 400 pages PPT that is totally differenct form the text book. however all exams were based on the text book. I can't believe he worked at RBC. I'm sure he got fired.
This guy should really think of a new career. The last thing we need at Ryerson is another boring idiot prof you can barely understand.
I can't believe how terrible this professor is. So unbelievably boring and just reads off of the slides. Buy the textbook and don't waste your time with this class.
Those who wrote bad of Jahani didn't attend class. Honestly,if u come to class, Jahani will prepare u for the final. He is a very good, class average was a B+, he likes to bell marks cuz he cares for us. Whereas 6 of my friends had Peter Pille, and all of them ended with a C+ Or below! Sad but true!
Well... Yea he is boring and he has accent. But at least he teaches and he is there when you have a problem... I guess for a first year student he is hard, but wait untill you see the other profs.
He is a bad prof. I am in his ITM512 class - very boring. A HARD ASS - He is WANTIN to screw me over - and yes I attend all classes, take notes (my GPA is 3.9 so dont question me bein a good student) but this prof is horrid
he's an alright prof. not very good when asked for help, but @ the end of the course he seemed to be very fair. he wasnt a prick like most of the other ryeprofs. he's a fair marker and his midterm was easy. overall i was satisfied with him in regards to my marks, but i dunno if i learned anything :|
not even one student from his past classes will recommand you to take any courses with Peter, He doesn't know how to teach.
The rating fot his prof is not appealing. But I have to take this course in summer and have no option. Anyone from his Spring class for ITM750 can guide me better because that the course I want to take. Regards
The worst prof I've ever had. Boring, unhelpful, downright nasty and condescending.
He's the best prof I've had in a long time! His midterms and final are straight from the slides...if you study...you can get an A...He's amazing...such a nice person...he joked around with all the students...such an easy marker...AMAZING PROF!
Assignments were truly useless. He taught me nothing. His feedback on group project was minimal. The final exam had very vague, poorly written instructions. I would recommend avoiding this prof if you don't want a class that will be huge a waste of your time.
There is only one course that I found completely useless, (out of the 38 courses I have taken at Ryerson so far), it is ITM750 with Jahani. Not only this course was boring, Jahani's mid term was extremely hard and assignments made no sense. Please Please Please Please Avoid this course. I am glad this course was not a required course.
worst prof at ryerson..very very boring!!!dont take any class with him..where does ryerson get these profs from??the circus!?He will make an easy class HARD...bring ur pillow to class b/c ull pass out!!! he is NASTYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!
Teacher is very smart and helpful. Its sometimes hard to understand him since he talks in mono tone, but overall very smart and helpful. Forces students to think and apply their knowledge. If you want to learn then take his class!
I think some of you need to get a life. You can't find a better proff than him in this program. Instead of compailing get your ass to his classes and study.
Excellent course tought by a great a professor!
Grade 7 history was harder than this class. Jahani isn't a bad guy, he was just very indifferent in this class. Easy credit, disinterested professor. Kinda sums up ITM at Ryerson.
The prof is Ok,gives the same questions on midterm and final, but he'll give you INDIVIDUAL marks for the GROUP presentation! Lectures are boring, stay home and read book. Exams are from the book and slides. Simulation game will drive you nuts, but don't expect much help from him. He'll not negotiate your marks and can be rude if you try to push him
Straight forward class and easy credit. Do the work and you'll get at least a "B". No midterms or finals for this course, just lots of assignments. There's 10 short learning journals (5-10 min time to write about what you learned each class), individual presentation, 3 case studies and a research paper.
No feed, bad prof, just awful because you wont learn a single thing - but if you want an easy mark go with him and dont ask for an explanation how of you got a certain mark - HE WONT GIVE YOU ONE (so bad)
AMILASTONE!
Treats students like children. Assignments and tests involve excessive pressure and intimidation. Some professionals are taking the course and age/career related comments are not appreciated. Life IS easy but people like him complicate it!
His "assignments" are basically advanced level tests on how to use MS Project. Gives complicated scenarios that take more time to understand than it takes to do. He is generally helpful when you ask questions. But the assignment and midterm etc just dont reflect what is being taught.
He is a decent prof that genuinely cares about his students. However, his assignments are bogus. They are harder than they need to be and he doesn't give you enough time to complete them. Plus they are hard to understand. Both exams had very unnecessarily tricky questions. You'll pass, but the course is totally useless.
This professor is good, he isn't a hard marker and this is probably one of the easiest courses you'll take in I.T. The only thing that sucks is its on a Friday but there is no exam/midterm, pure assignments and you must show up to class as participation marks are high as you are called on for class discussion.
Amazing professor. Fair marker and understands the ITM field. Lectures are interesting. Highly suggest taking this prof
He is EXTREMELY boring! Some of his MC questions are stuff not even discussed in class or mentioned in the book. After the final exam most of the class was complaining how his questions were unrelated to anything covered. I wouldn't recommend him.
I enjoyed my class with Prof. Jahani and I learned a lot about the subject matter. He is very generous when it comes sharing his knowledge, he provides a lot of real-world examples and he goes beyond what is in the textbook. If you work hard in his class, it will really pay off.
Mr. Jahani may be great at his workplace but fails to demonstrate basic teaching skills. He manages to complicate material and most of the time will test you on topics not covered in lecture or by textbook, its ridiculous. I would STRONGLY recommend avoiding Jahani mainly because of his impolite demeanour and his inability to help students.
By far the most boring prof to listen to. Very hard to follow and understand. Much better off skipping the lectures and reading the posted slides because that's all he does.
Jahani was my first prof at ryerson and i was not impressed. He talks in a monotone voice with no microphone so you cant even here him and he says he wants the class to join in discussion but whenever someone joins in he most likely will say how that point of view is wrong. Would not take his class again you just wont learn anything.
Boring, doesn't even use a mic. Likes to pick on students to answer his questions during the lecture and makes you feel stupid. AVOID HIM at all costs.
snooze fest
Absolutely Terrible. I understand that the course itself isn't very well structured but Jahani just makes it worse! His lectures are very boring and dragged out. He tries to provide real-life examples but they don't apply to the course. Very unclear within his assignments as he initially asks for one thing but expects otherwise. Overall, BAD!
The course structure is a mess but Jahani doesn't make it better. This course is the worst course i have taken in my undergrad. The course has 4 long cases in which only 2 are marked (20% each). No feedback is given unless you ask and he marks hard. No midterm but final was 50%, typed in 2 hours which is definitely not enough time. Killed my GPA.
I dont understand how some of these profs get their PHDs. This guy is so boring and does not say anything relevant in his lectures. Waste of time
Given the other professors in the ITM department, prof Jahani is probably the best. He answers his email quickly and seems like he cares. This class is pretty boring so props to him for making easy. His class is straightforward, so you don't need to show up to the lectures to do well. Just stay up to date with the syllabus and you'll be fine.
Took him online, not as bad as he is rated
His ratings do not do him justice. I had him for ITM707 and he was great. Super easy marker, answers his emails quickly, has prerecorded lectures so you dont even need a textbook. I agree that he is very boring but he is still a good prof
Literally, such an easy marker considering this class is purely based on Case studies and you need just need to write based on them. Replies super fast to emails, very helpful, and overall this course was a breeze. You won't regret taking him for this course
Many opportunities to get an "A". You have 4 quizzes. If you read the slides & textbook, you will do well! Lectures are boring & Professor doesn't explain well. So, learn on your own! The quizzes (16%) & the midterm (30%) are easy assessments. There are 4 assignments (14%). Tbh, don't understand how he grades them. But you can easily get 75%.
He adds absolutely nothing meaningful to his lectures. His only redeeming quality is that he's a pretty easy marker. If that is enough for you and you're a good self-learner then taking him should be just fine for you. If you thrive on an engaging prof and lectures, steer clear from Professor Jahani.
Just a garbage class by a teacher that obviously doesn't care. I will never do a course with this prof again. The man is terrible at explaining. I would give him a 0 and his class is a waster of time.
100% the worst instructor/class I've had. I feel very disrespected for being forced to take him as my only choice for a prof in a mandatory class. For the institution to allow this happening, they are also guilty of stealing our money and not providing the quality of education we expect. It is simply just wrong.
A hilariously small amount effort went into making the exam. Missing photos for questions, countless typos. Assignments are graded with little to no feedback and generally provide no educational value. Avoid this professor at all costs!
He is an easy grader. You must show up to the lectures and consultation meetings for attendance marks. Course breakdown was 30% midterm, 10% attendance, 10% weekly updates, 50% final project. Finding a client was hard.
Outright disrespectful students for no reason. Calls out students in lectures for asking questions. Teaches how to do something after an assignment on the same content was due, but complains about the average. Takes attendance every lecture. Either he or his TA's are on something with the way they mark the assignments. Avoid this condescending man.
Very terrible professor. Can't teach at all and makes assignment instructions unclear. TAs are very terrible and don't respond to emails. Overall very bad professor. AVOID!
*Course still in progress For Reflection 1 & 2 - both are group work - he gave many groups 40s and 50s. Despite following his template and guidelines, the class is not performing well!! Lectures are boring as he is mostly reading off of the slides. He will pick on you randomly, so be prepared.
Very hard to hear, and continues to randomly ask students questions, his TA is terrible and shows way too many youtube videos.
Prof. Jahani is not a professor that will set you up for success. He is very knowledgeable about the course contents but speaks in an extremely condescending manner when students do not understand certain concepts. I have a 4.0 cGPA but still received a low grade because of how poor of a job he does teaching key concepts.
This shouldn't be a difficult class to do well in, but he did everything he could to make that the opposite. Avoid if you can.
I dont even know where to start with this absolute loser. He has a heavy accent to which you can barely understand. The excel TA "arezoo" belongs in a zoo rather than teaching excel. He is an very hard grader on quizzes and assignments and the midterm is even harder. If you take this class I suggest taking up alcoholism or jumping of a building
Prof. Jahani class does not set you up to succeed. He makes his course extremely difficult and does not provide grading criteria.
Decent prof, but the class was dry. Do not expect feedback on your written cases.
Honestly not as bad as he's being rated. The class is not hard at all. Just do the work.
horrible do not take
The professor gives all the necessary information for the exams during the lectures, which are quite dry. The questions on the mid-term are difficult to understand due to a lot of spelling mistakes. The final exam can easily drop your mark since most of it is harshly marked.
It is best that you chose another prof for this course because he makes the material harder than it should be. He also calls students out to answer questions in class so be prepared. The exams were also difficult (unnecessary).
AVOID at all costs.
He's the worst. I'm not tryna be ageist but he's too old to be working. I can barely hear him. He's so bad at teaching, he just mumbles everything. If you're tryna get a good grade in ITM107, DON'T take this professor. I feel like my mark would've been higher if I had a teacher that could teach. He's the worst.Had to reteach myself everything.
The ITM 707 curriculum has changed since 2018, so ignore the old ratings. Only negative is he'll randomly select students to participate in class. Besides that, the class is now graded on attendance, a group and solo case and presentation, weekly reflections (case studies) and final exam. Super easy marker and this class was honestly a breeze.
I had a few classes and will explain why he is a terrible teacher: 1 Text heavy slides 2 Reads them word by word for the entire class 3 Shows minimal effort in actually teaching 4 Extremely proud attitude
This teacher is outdated, sorry to say. He's about 55+, and we struggle to hear him. He gives quizzes every class, so attendance is a must. Sitting in the front means you're likely to be picked on. He even climbs stairs to address those on the edges. He also reads off the slides on class
he will go on a rant for 5 mins that makes a bit of sense then stumbles on his words like my grandpa. His examples don't really help us in todays society as he's talking about things that happened 100000 years ago cause he's old. we need to hire young profs that have a rating of over 2 that won't mumble like 21 savage. do better tmu :(
I took this professor briefly for this class before swapping to Moss (I know, just as bad), but his lectures were SO dry and boring and he will pick people from the class to answer his questions which I didn't like. I took ITM618 last sem and for the final, they announced that Jahani wasn't going to answer any questions!! What a joke. AVOID.
Just terrible. TA never responds to emails too. So yourself a favour and avoid at all costs if you can.
words cannot describe how much misery he has caused
I thought I had bad profs before but he and his TA are just something different. Avoid being in his class if you can.
very thick accent, hard to understand
Extremely difficult and can't teach
be in anyone's class except his. He'll just make life hard
Jahani is honestly a great professor, the thing is you should ask him questions and ask for clarification if you need it. He was always supportive and EXTREMELY helpful during our weekly group meeting. The midterm is a whole different story, alot of people messed up during the midterm and i think it was just made hard for the whole program
A nice guy who wants his students to do well! For the exams, they are fair and you just need to know the content inside out to do well. Would recommend!
The professor cares. The TA doesn't! His exams are not from the slides and some questions are not even in the textbook. There are weekly and 2 major assignments during the term, for which he changed the marks 3 times. Gave everyone a 100, then said it was a mistake on the system and brought the marks down after a month of receiving them. Ridiculous
Worst prof ever. He told our class that the final exam was after the midterm and the actual exam was based on all chapters before the midterm
has a thick accent, completely unaware of the exam questionnaire and doesnt help his students
pls do not take this prof
Hes a good prof but would never take him ever
He is SO boring to listen to. He goes on tangents and is so difficult to understand. I took this through Chang and attendance is mandatory (graded) and he goes alphabetically through the participants. He marks hard even though he is vague asking what he wants in his reflections. He is the worst prof I've ever taken and needs to retire. AVOID
- 2nd DAY OF CLASS and he's already teaching algebra and doesn't explain them - Doesn't teach the basic knowledge before getting into a new topic - If you commute and are late to class for even 5 mins, give up and take the course by another prof. You will never catch up.
Avoid this professor at all costs. His exams are very hard for not properly teaching during the lectures, He is very disorganized and not a good professor AT ALL.
Do not take him, he is very boring and you'll most likely fall asleep in his class. Also, he talks about very useless things and then gets disappointed when our average on the midterm is horrible. He talks about everything but nothing at the same time. He isn't very clear in his instructions either. Also, he will pick on you.
Awful! Bad lectures where students are singled out are only 1.5hr long, then he LEAVES and lets a TA teach content that will never be tested, followed by a weekly 1% quiz at the very end that you have to be in person for, yet Jahani is probably halfway home by then. The group project was marked abysmally, and he was rude when asked for feedback.
Incredibly boring lectures, thick accent, reads off the slides and class is mandatory as he does a quiz at the end of each class which he makes his TA host while he's already halfway home. Talks as if he's better than everyone, but can't seem to answer a simple question properly, or gave a weird roundabout answer.
Just letting you know early: This prof is probably drunk as you're reading this
Deep voice, combined with thick accent, and doesn't project his voice, half the time it sounds like gibberish. He just reads off slides. Makes u want to fall asleep. Mandatory quiz at the end he isn't even there for (leaves hour before) He left the midterm after it started lol. Bro also drinks out of a flask during class, who knows whats in there.
Honestly not a bad prof I don't know why he ratings r super low. He is nice and also gave a boost for the midterm. He does pick on people tho but it's often for easy questions that r common sense.
The worst professor I've had. There are no clear criteria for how assignments are marked, and the lectures do not provide practical information. I attended every lecture and still did horribly in this class. Take any other available professor!
The prof is actually decent, good at explaining concepts, goes above and beyond for explaining. Only issues i have with him was him randomly name calling during lecture. Attendance is mandatory, you lose marks for not coming. The midterm was dirt easy, havent taken final yet. You dont need textbook as his lectures and slides are enough for studying
Mahmoud is a great professor who listens to his students and is always passionate about his learnings which helps elevate his classes.
