sweetest prof. ever, always asking for feedback, extremely understanding, gives you all the answers to mid-term and final, lecture heavy but you learn SO MUCH. for the research paper, he'll look it over and give feedback if you ask.

He is one of the best professors I have ever known. He uses many funny teaching techniques in the class. He combines theory with his field experiences. He is much experienced on transnational criminal groups and terrorist organizations. It was exciting to listen to his experiences. Heavy work but easy to digest. I strongly recommend his class.

He really cares about his students. His lectures can be boring and he can be hard to understand at times but he is always checking to make sure you understand the material. There are many assignments but most are small. There is a research paper and 2 exams which he gives you a guide for.

Professor Cengiz is awesome. His class is completely lecture based but its on interesting topics, he can be hard to understand sometimes because of his accent but you get used to it. He is very understanding and truly just wants everyone to learn and do well in class and life. He is from Turkey and brought us Turkish Delights for our exams!

Dr. Cengiz is an exceptional teacher who really cares for his students. If you show up to class, participate, and communicate with him, its an easy A. He takes notice of who comes and goes during his 3 hour long class, so staying the whole time will really impact how well you do in the class. Great professor and I definitely recommend him!

This professor gives a lot of extra credit. He gives out the exam days before for you to memorize. Please be nice to him, and he will be nice to you. There are 4 exams, 1 group project, 4 discussion boards, and a final 6-page paper. This class is super interesting and I found it enjoyable to learn the content.

One of the best professors in the department. Lectures can be a bit boring as he is very monotoned, but he makes it up for the very easy exams, and gives a lot of extra credit. The group project isn't hard at all and he's a very easy grader. Failing his class is nearly impossible unless you don't try at all.

GOVT-346 with Cengiz was actually an enjoyable class. The topics covered are interesting and relevant and Mr. Cengiz makes you think through different policy situations. Offers plenty of Extra Credit and the Exams are fairly easy. 10/10

Professor Mahmut Cengiz's Government 346 class was highly informative, covering all aspects of American security policy. He was kind, sincere, and provided ample extra credit opportunities. The 4 quizzes and group project were relatively easy. 10/10 recommend him to anyone at GMU.
