She is a great prof. Really nice guy, does not complicate the material, always available. No complaints.
She is new at Ryerson! Very kind and respected! She cares about all her students, and always tries to help them. You would be fine for exams if you attend her lectures.
Very nice prof. She is super caring and will go out of her way to ensure you understand the material like she will make time for you if you ask. Tests are easy just do the assignments and yeah, 10/10 recommend!
This prof will make sure you understand the concept! She is very caring and does not mind going through concepts for better understanding. QMS is a heavy course however, she makes it interesting! Would take again as always! very welcoming to questions and super caring!
Mahsa is an inspiring professor! Although she teaches dry math, but her lectures are interesting and she does her best to assure you understand. It is hard to find a professor like her as there needs to be more. TAKE HER!
Had this prof and she is the most genuine prof I've ever had. One of the only profs that has ever understood my struggles outside of school and really made sure to accommodate. She is very keen on making sure you understand the material before she moves on. She will help you with whatever it takes to help you pass if you show that you have tried.
She's a nice teacher, but extremely dry and boring when it came to teaching the material. She does make sure students understand each slide before she moves on so that's pretty good. And during test/exams she was so helpful. Take her as a second choice if Claire's class is full!
Mahsa is an awesome professor. She's really passionate about statistics and she knows how to teach not just lecture. Pay special attention to the different probability distributions sections. Just do assignments to be fine for the tests.
She is amazing!!! Super caring! Always available!
I'm an international student and i need a professor with no accent and can really speak everything clearly. Her accent is heavy, for example always say " Three" as "Tree", thats wired. Her voice is too low and some of the students even fall in sleep in her calss. Does not have a sense of humor at all. Dont know why rate so high.
She is the best professo I have ever had. She is amazing and really good at teaching. She cares about student and will spend time outside of class to go to over the material. Clear presentation and try to simplify the concepts.
She is clear and organized, is a nice teacher, answers questions nicely, laid back, i was able to learn in her class
She is a nice teacher and cares about her students. Her lecture is easy and understandable. I highly recommend her.
Such a caring and nice prof! I am happy for taking this course with her. I had this course in Fall but dropped cause of a terrible prof!!!
Extremely nice guy with a wealth of knowledge in the field. She cares more about teaching than grading, and treats everyone fairly.
OMG I CANT STRESS IT ENOUGH BUT PLEASE TAKE HER, EVEN IF IT'S A 8AM SLOT! shes so worth it. compared to other profs, her ppts are too the point and she tells you what is on the exam basically! AND you are allowed cheat sheets to the tests and finals! the weekly assignments are such a grade booster too! easy a+ for anyone and I suck at math.
Amazing professor, make sure to practice her extra questions listed at the end of each slide and do the modules in time. Make sure to ask for help with any questions she will be more than happy to help you. Overall she cares about if ghe students learned the concepts properly, best QMS professor at Ryerson.
She's very sweet and does her best to make sure you follow, however there are many other profs who are simply better and gives a more in depth look at stats. She barely scratched the surface, while other profs give lengthy review packages and better slides. Mystatlab basically saved me easy 10%
Super caring prof, amazing lectures. She reviewed many questions in every single class to get you prepared for exam.
Prof. Madani is a super nice teacher! She cares about all her students and will help you when needed. Her class is not too difficult, and if you do the assignments, which are not too difficult, and participate in class you will easily do an awesome job in her course!
Ms. Madani is an incredible teacher - she knows her stuff and delivers it well... very kind, sweet, and CARING about her students... and she's patient - will make sure you understand the course material. Plus she has a low-key sense of humour if you pay attention.
she was super nice and friendly! definitely recommend. if you're stuck on the exam just ask for help and she literally tells you what to do or even gives you the answer lmao
Good stats prof, will help you if you get stuck on a test. Statlabs are great studying tool for this course
If you want help outside of class, good luck. She has one hour of help a week, so you better show up an hour early at her office if you want help. She was nice and caring and her lecture notes are helpful but wasn't the greatest at explaining concepts.
Mahsa is a caring prof for her students. She typically makes her own slides on all important material, which she posts online. Tests and exam aren't too hard, but you will need to study and do practice questions to get an A. Overall very solid prof.
Highly recommended. Super caring professor and always available.
Professor Madani is an amazing stats professor who wants her students to succeed and pass her course. Her lectures are excellent as she provides great practice for questions on the tests and the final exam. She does review questions every class which are really helpful, and shes always available to help her students become successful.
She teaches evertyhing in her lectures and gives good examples. Do the weekly assignments and you'll be prepared for the exams and tests. Make sure you check over each question during tests and exams as she puts options that are wrong to make you confident in miscalculations.
She is a very good prof and straightforward. If you complete the homework questions provided and follow the practice questions on the slides you are good to go. Responds to emails quickly. The course is easier if you attend class as she explains concepts well but not mandatory as she posts the slides online.
Ms Madani is an amamzing prof, always looked forward going to her classes.
Mahsa was a great prof. I used to have her on Tuesday mornings and she was always a good start to the day. She was kind enough to post all the lecture slides, as well as how to use the calculator. When she goes over questions from the StatLab, pay attention, the questions are similar on the tests and exam. 100% recommend her class
Really great prof
Terrible teaching method does not offer any type of knowledge other than what is written on the slides, Each class consists of her reading off the slides for 3 boring hours. Tests unnecessarily hard do not make sense to content don't study its a waste of your time, terrible monotone speaker, group project not explained till last minute.
Although her class may seem boring, but so is the course content. Indeed, I switched from other section and found her class more lively! I found her slides more than enough for the midterm. She goes through math questions in class. Pay attention and you will do fine in exam. TAKE HER if you take GMS450!
It seems she is new, but super nice and supportive. Fair midterm and great feedback on assignment. The group project was joy since you do what you learn in class. Looking forward to take another course with her!
She is a great prof providing students with nice examples. I like her teaching style since she make sure all understand concepts.
A enjoyed this class. Great prof and easy material
Super caring prof! Knowledgeable in project management. Great feedbacks on assignments.
She's truly amazing; my favourite professor this semester! She takes the time to explain everything properly and tests are easy for this course.
Great prof! Her slideshows are very straight forward and is willing to help students out.
Professor Mad is very detailed in her teaching and tests. Her class is full of examples. Make sure you learn them since most of her questions are from the examples. Do the assignments and definitely read questions carefully!
***Linear Algebra*** The difficulty rating on this review is simply for the class its self. Professor Madani posts amazing slides and really cares about you understanding the content. Do not take this class unless you are ready to work for it, but do not worry as Prof. Madani will help you to understand and wants you to pass!
Good prof.
She's honestly such an awesome prof and truly cares about her students! MAKE SURE YOU GO THROUGH EVERY QUESTION ON THE PRACTICE MIDTERMS AND FINAL as they are VERY similar to the actual midterms and final. Students also have a chance to ask as many questions after her lectures to get a better understanding. Overall, GREAT PROF!!!
By far the best QMS teacher at Ryerson. Had her for QMS110 and she made it absolutely as easy as possible. Went over a lot of review questions at each lesson and makes boosting our marks as easy as possible. 1% quizzes at the beginning of each class, 1% assignments every week, 3 exams, and 2 easy summatives. Definitely taking her in the future!
She's honestly such a sweet and caring prof. She has an accent that may be hard to understand, but if you took math in high school this course should be easy. She just reads off of her slides so you don't need to come to class. However if you need extra help she's always ready to. Even helps you out during exams if you're struggling
Such a sweetheart and caring prof! She clearly cares about her students, available outside class and does her best to make you understand! Would love to take her classes again!
She's okay at best. Be prepared for some boring lectures. She's better at teaching QMS210
Shes not such a great prof but shes probably the best in the QMS department. She has an accent so I found it difficult to understand her sometimes. Also, she jumps from one topic to another so it is difficult to understand the concepts. I asked her questions in class but she would just ignore sometimes.
She is a great professor. Super caring and amazing lectures.
Great professor, she seems to care a lot about students. Took her for first and second semester QMS, she has a slight accent, but its understandable. She explains everything in detail and helps understand the course. Also her outfits are so cute, really nice colour coordination.
her accent made it pretty difficult to understand her. her slides were organized and easy to read
Madani is a nice and respectable person, she didn't make lectures too long since they were in the evening. However, for the group projects, she would never give 100%. She would always give below even though our efforts exceeded the criteria. I think the grading scheme is fair, but a little mark boost would bump up her score. I'm indifferent.
honestly such a sweet professor who really wants her students to do well and is super caring. She understands that this is not an easy course for some students and provides amazing lectures. She makes sure you understand each material because she really wants you to succeed. HANDS DOWN THE BEST PROFESSOR IN THE MATH DEPARTMENT!
She's a gem! This course sucks but she does her best to make it tolerable and is very understanding. Would definitely take her again.
Super sweet prof! Always responds to emails on time, super accomodating, and her lectures are well done. Shes great at explaining concepts. Def recommend!
This course was fairly difficult and very tedious especially with the MyLabs, so having her as my prof made the class a little bit easier. She's nice, has an accent so it can be hard to understand, but also wants everyone to do well. There aren't many good QMS profs, she's probably one of the best.
Prof. Madani is the best prof I have ever had at TRSM. Although it is an online course, but her slideshows are very straightforward with full of real life examples.
I don't know who the people are that left the other reviews but they are wayyyy off. She explains concepts in such a slow and ineffective way that even the simplest of subjects become complicated beyond reason. She is just straight up not good at teaching, slides are full of errors, tests as well. Just wholly ineffective
Her slides are organized and straightforward. She is so patient to explain the concept clearly. She is highly recommended.
Super caring prof! Always responds to emails on time, and her lectures are well done. She is great at explaining concepts.
She's acc a proper prof. Everything on her midterms and final is what she taught and she prepares u well. If u dont practice and don't study, u wont do good. Do the mylabs timely, don't wait till the last minute and they're good mark boosters. Study from her slides and practice tests. She's a good prof. You'll do bad if u dont do hw and study.
The grading for the tests in this course is absurd and makes no sense, like if a question has 3 parts and if you get correct then logically one should get 0.67/1 but in this course unless you get all of them correct you would get a zero. If things were normal and this course wasnt online I am sure we wouldnt be graded like this. Its unfair.
The class has a combined 8 hours per week of work. 2 hour pre-recorded lecture, 3 hour in person lecture, and then 3 hours of homework. The test and exam grading scheme is broken. For example a 3 part multiple choice, you get 2/3 correct, well too bad you get a 0 and lose all 3 marks. From a 4.0 student this was my worst mark so far.
Half of the reviews for QMS 210 are not even valid, since the exams are structured the same for every class in this course and not just pertaining to this one. Compared to other profs, Hosseini provides us with recorded lectures and concise, yet thorough slides that make it so easy to learn the concepts. Easy grades if you pay more attention.
The grading scheme is not controlled by the professor, its determined by the course coordinator. But if you stay on top of ur work and put it an effort to do well, it'll be worth the grade you get. She's super reasonable and focuses on testing you on things she's acc taught and gone over. Do your mylabs and review properly and you'll be fine
Mahsa is really nice professor. Honestly, she is the only good professor in the whole mathematics department. Keeps you engaged during her live lectures by asking questions. However, the testing criteria are a bit unfavorable i.e. in MC questions, you only get one option that has all correct answers; this is where you lose marks.
Really good and is passionate about what she teaches. She explains concepts clearly and helps with any problems you may have. I Will take classes with her in the future!
There is n point in going the lectures. She only goes over a few practice questions during the zoom call. The rest of the stuff is on our own. Watching the notoriously boring 2 hour videos before every class.
She's SO nice and rly wants everyone to do well. Her lectures are ez to understand and of good length. She always explains everything to the smallest details. Lectures posted prior to each class. Her zooms are for engaging students in solving questions. Definitely the best prof for QMS ngl.
I really like that she starts from the basics. Im not the best at math and this prof does reviews of simple topics so you know whats going on. If you scared of uni math take her!!!
Mahsa is such an incredible prof! The thing that I love most about her is how understanding she is. She understands that QMS110 is a very difficult course for many students and so she does her best to help us as much as possible. I would definitely recommend her if you are going to take this course!
She is probably the best teacher in the department. The course is basically high school math. Her lectures are posted a week prior to the live class and during the zoom, its practice questions. the first midterm (for this year) was pretty unfair but I don't think that it was her fault. she teaches from the basics and makes it easy to understand
dont do i what i did and miss out on lectures thinking it would be easy. shes probably the best prof for qms subjects at x university but that's just cause the department as a whole is trash. if you have her take her lectures seriously and you'll be ok.
She's probably a 2-3 by general standards, but a 4-5 by QMS standards. Watch the prerecorded lectures, but live is just practice problems. Lots of issues with the class are department wide.
Mahsa is a solid Prof. I had her when classes were online and all lectures were prerecorded, and attending the actual class was not mandatory. She replies to emails quickly, is understanding, and does a-lot of practice questions. If you are having difficulty with a particular question/ topic, just ask and she will go over it in class.
Honestly, Mahsa was a good professor. The course itself sucked because of the overkill first midterm and the final being somewhat irritating. But as a professor, Mahsa was really nice and overall taught the material properly. She gave us the resources needed to practice but, if you are aiming for a A- and above, I suggest you practice the material.
easy course, just make sure you complete the assignments they are free marks. Most kids expect uni to be easy since they are in business and get overwhelmed with this course. how ever it is very easy. I did not attend a single lecture nor studied one bit. All you need is highs chool knowledge
The first midterm was immensely difficult. The class average was a 50 at first. Luckily we got to take it again, the second midterm was fairly easy, and the final exam was pretty difficult. The prof is amazing and tries her best to explain the material accordingly. She does not have power over the questions on the exam, rather it's the department.
Really patient and knowledgeable. She takes the time to ensure everyone understands the material. Her weekly recordings are very helpful and explain things on a deeper level when compared to the required textbook. She's very nice and gentle, always willing to go over things until everyone gets it. Definitely recommend her!!!
She's the best choice out of all the profs for qms110 but I definitely expected more based on reviews I read. Bit of an accent which made things hard to understand sometimes(not huge issue though).Prerecorded lectures+slides given before class and she just takes up some review qs during the zoom call. Nice person but isn't the best at explaining qs
Shes very caring and wants her students to succeed, so its not necessarily her fault that the course in itself is generally difficult. However, very lengthy prerecorded lectures were a bit time consuming and i thought they couldve been explained in a more streamlined teaching approach, however shes good.
Mahsa is a great prof. She's super patient and helps every single student who has any questions. Her lectures are pre recorded so you can watch them anytime before class where she'll do practice questions. The lectures aren't hard themselves, but the exams are what make life difficult. She really does want her students to do good tho. Take her!!
she was nice and explained the concepts well it just so happens I'm absolutely terrible at math lmao she would get a little mad when no one had questions because she really wants to help weekly assignments are great at boosting your mark up because the midterms and final are ridiculously hard expects you to know the concept before coming to class
The thing is she is a good person and all the problem is her accent. It is sometimes so difficult to understand and makes my ears bleed and head go dizzy. I would recommend her if you are already really good at math and don't end up with a headache after every class (2022 my million era).
great prof
Her slides are so informative and she really tries to explain concepts to students multiple times through great examples! I learned so much from her in statistics, and she has made it much easier than other QMS210 profs!
This course was easy with Mahsa, both midterms and final are not hard if you practice the Mylabs. Class average was in the mid 50s because people did not study, but it is possible to end off with a 4.00+ if you master the calculator. Going to office hours is also a way to get a good mark in this course.
I had her for 110&210 this year & got A+ for both. She's nice & good at explaining hard concepts. Lectures are well-recorded & organized. Her sections had the highest midterm class averages, which tells you she's the best QMS prof. Always responds to emails quickly, would even have 1on1 appointment to go over test questions that you got wrong.
honestly the best prof in the whole department. she teaches very clearly and her slides have a lot of info. She's super kind and encourages us to ask questions. midterm and final were pretty similar to the mylabs and her lectures. overall great prof, def would take her again
Take Mahsa!!! She is the best QMS prof, and honestly one of my favorites so far! Very caring, very clear lectures, she made QMS210 a breeze!!
If she offers online exams (you can bring in unlimited amount of cheat sheet) when u're in first year - 10/10 take her!! Her structure was: Prerecorded lectures, in person discussion lectures (1hr) and mylabs What helped me score well: - STUDY the MyLabs - only attend the discussion lectures (prof kinda reads off slides in pre rec lectures)
Mahsa is one of the best QMS profs among them all. She has pre-recorded lectures and her in-person classes only take up review questions to further help you understand the content. The structure of the class is very well done compared to the other profs. You have to work and study for your grade in this course as it is no cakewalk. A+ Prof
Had her for QMS110 and QMS210... hard ish topics but she made it easy! I really enjoyed her and she was very clear in her lectures, they were easy to follow and understand.
The best professor for QMS110. Attend her lectures because she clearly explains the concepts. The exam questions, on the other hand, are more difficult and advanced than the MyLab homework. All of the exams were multiple-choice, but the final exam was the easiest imo.
She is an amazing professor! Totally recommend her for QMS110. Attend the lectures, and take notes using the slides. If you have an iPad, just download the slides then write on top of it in Goodnotes or Notability. Midterms and final weren't terrible. Do the practice tests and MyLabs and you are good.
Be prepared to study because this course is extremely difficult. She provides practice questions and tests, which are NOTHING like the exams. Many students failed the first midterm, and the class average barely passed 50%. Even though the material is high school math, don't expect it to be easy, or you will get humbled.
Shes very kind and caring but nothing she teaches is on the tests. Her lectures make everything seem so easy because she only teaches the basic concepts but when it comes to the tests they are 10 times harder than what we are taught. The hardest courses I have taken the tests need to be made easier.
She is a great teacher and explains the materials clearly. Assignments are easy and help to boost the final mark.
Amazing prof! Honestly did not believe the reviews till I took her- def the best prof for qms110. She gives the least amount of hw and prepares you well for tests, and really cares about her students success. I wish I had her for qms210 :,)
Took her for QMS 210 and so lucky I did. She explained everything quite clearly in her lectures, including how to properly use the calculator to make life easier. Gave a lot of examples as well which was useful. Definitely take her class if possible.
The best QMS teacher you can ask for. She is very accommodating and answers any questions you might have. Study MyLabs + Do her review questions for each chapter in order to do good.
The BEST professor for QMS courses. She explains how to use the calculator and concepts very well in her pre-recorded lecture videos, which really helps when doing the MyLab assignments and exams. She was also the only prof that prepared students properly for SPSS questions.
The best qms professor ever! She makes everything so clear and explains everything in fine detail. The GOAT fssss
Mahsa herself is a great prof explains things very good and in detail, watch/attend her lectures or read the textbook, practice my labs you should be good
Weekly quizzes worth 24%. 2 midterms each 18% and final exam 40%. Please attend lectures as this is one of the best QMS110 profs. You're lucky you have her and not others. Does explain concepts in class and is happy to answer questions.
She is good at explaining math and make it easy to understand. Tests are fair enough if you study the textbook and her slides.
I struggled with math, but thanks to Mahsa, my math skills improved significantly. She's an incredibly caring professor!
Have you ever got an A in mathematics without studying? Trust me she is absolutely the best. I missed my midterm 2 due to medical reasons and she granted me credits. Overall you get all the recorded lectures. The course break down is like this. Assignments(24%) Midterm 1 and 2 (18%) each. The final exam is 40%. All the exams are online, easy for u
Great don't switch, best math teacher at tmu
She is nice and I have heard the best QMS proof. The class itself is difficult. I know many people who would fail all the tests. She does have a little accent that might make it hard to understand but I would retake her. If you do take her make sure you do all the Labs since they are free marks and you need all the marks you can get for this class.
She is a caring prof and good at teaching. Tests are a bit difficult and need to study well. Assignments are grade booster.
I love her. The reason why I chose her at first was her high rating compared to the other profs and after attending her lectures, I realized that she really deserves all the love she gets. I swapped my qms210 to her again and can't wait to spend another sem with her!!
Great professor all you need to do is just watch the videos and do the weekly quizzes and you'll be good!
You just have to do the work by yourself and do good on the my labs and you're bless
She is a very caring prof who does the most to ensure students' success. All the resources you'd need for this course are available in her information-rich lectures, and the assessments for this course are followed closely by lectures. If you are willing to try to complete myLabs without cheating, then you will do great in this course.
Easily understandable teacher unlike some other math profs I've had. Great thorough straight to the point lectures. She properly teaches you how to use the calculator too, making this course quite easy. Two MyLabs are dropped from a total of 12. Exams felt like they focused on content covered after the previous exams.
I dont get the hype its just online and people act like shes a goddess
She's severely overrated
Amazing QMS prof with helpful slides and review questions. Do your MyLab questions and read her slides.
The worst thing about this prof is that she teaches the worst class, but it's also a good thing bc shes the best prof. I wouldn't have passed if i'd taken it with anyone else. her lectures are clear and concise and recorded, MyLabs are torturous but that's not her fault and they're weighted a lot. TA's are very helpful.
Mahsa is an amazing professor! Her classes can be challenging, but she's extremely helpful. I found the labs and unstuck AI super useful for preparing for exams. Definitely take this class if you can.
Overrated fr.
Not good...
I had both QMS110 and 210 with her. Although both courses were challenging but Mahsa made it easy for us to follow the content. She is caring while want to be assured you understand the content in her class.
She's caring.
She is honestly overrated. Her classes are like one sided conversations. She just reads her slides and already expects you to know half of the course.
Good professor, classes are disrespectful and unwilling to learn though so she seems fed up with that which is honestly fair. Everything is reasonable but moves really fast so be prepared.
She is not good at teaching. She herself even said she does not like teaching math. Her lectures are just her reading the slides and getting mad when people don't immediately answer her questions. If you want to succeed, you have to study. The exams are nothing like the MyLabs, but apps like Studco have good practice exams to help you prepare.
She is a good prof. Attend het lecture and do mylab
Her class was engaging by asking questions and gave us time to learn in her class. Solve practice questions and gave us review questions to be prepared for tests. Test 1 was difficult but test 2 and final exam were fair.
She's a good prof, the course it self isn't too hard as long as your keeping with MyLabs and test prep. Test 1 hits hard, test 2 & exam gets easier. MyLabs helped me understand the content, so make sure to do that. Would recommend taking her if you did fine in advance functions already.
I thoroughly enjoyed having class with her. She was very dedicated to her teaching efforts. The midterms were a bit challenging, but that's just the nature of math. The final exam was fair, and I would definitely take any course she offers in the future.
She sped through the slides a lot. If your background in math isn't strong then you should probably pick Chua. She told us on the 1st day that she would go through things slowly but during the lectures she skips a bunch of steps and expects us to know. Also, the mylabs aren't useful to study for exams, use the practice PDF tests. She is caring
I enjoyed her engaging class. She posted her lecture notes in advance, which required reviewing them before attending. Studying the MyLab questions and the review package was essential to doing well on the tests.
I've got to say, I had an amazing time with QMS110. She was incredible, and the course was definitely a challenge. But don't worry, she made it super easy to understand. She was really caring and always there to help if you need it. Looking forward to QMS210 with her.
Attendance is not mandatory, but I highly recommend going to her lectures because they help a lot with understanding the material. She explains concepts clearly and makes everything feel more manageable, especially when preparing for exams.
She teaches very well. It is not mandatory to come to class as her presentations are posted and very clear to understand. I would take her again. She is very kind
she is one of the best profs for math and QMS 110 i did good in her class despite some minor faults of my own but she teaches well, she can make the lectures and concepts easy to understand and im hoping to get her for QMS 210
