Teacher was the worst I have ever had. Made students feel stupid and acted like we should know the material already. This was a calculus class not a graduate class! Average test scores were high 60s-low 70s-that says something about teachers ability.
She is a very nice lady. Sometimes difficult to understand, but if you go to see her during office hours she is very helpful. Also, she expects you to use the student tutors to keep up. Not the easiest class, but she isn't that bad
This teacher was not easily understood, she didnt try to go over the material in a way that the students who are not math majors can understand. She expects everyone to have read the book already it seems like to be able to keep up.
Her lectures are clear and easy to follow. She is very nice and very helpful when asked a question.
The class had a lot of material to cover, but she tried to make it as clear as possible and was willing to use her office time to help students. She respects hard work but demands it as well.
This teacher should just retire and get it over with! She is obveisly burnt out.She has no patience and talks down to people as if they were born idiots.I've seen her single people out and YELL at them for asking a simple question.Be careful w/this one!!
She was sincere and did try to help... she just wasn't super easy to understand and always got on my nerves with her neverending repetitive phrase, "Are you all following me?"
A little hard to understand due to the accent. However, she breaks everthing down into simple terms I got a very high A without taking notes.

Go to class and do all the homework and you are guaranteed an 'A'. Drops your lowest test mark too.. If you prefer to spend the class time 'textmessaging', go hang with brothas by the humanities buildings...
This professor sucks and couldnt care less about you. I was out for a week because I had a really bad respiratory infection, and she wouldnt let me make anything up even though I had a dr note and wrote her an email about it.Plus, her tests are really hard and she doesnt allow enough time for them. everyone would stay 30min after class to finish!
Fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, shame on me. If you don't plan on majoring in social sciences then don't go with Hassani. "Militant" best describes her MO. For future engineers & business students, Hassani will cover a large range of material. She offers tons of review & 90% of your grade comes from work outside the class. UZTUTOR!!!

I loved her class! she is hard but if you do all the homework then its an easy A. and i dont know what you ppl are complaining about she givs a take home quiz for a week and the test is exactly like it. if you havent noticed we are college students, we need to work hard. very fair and very helpful in and out side of the class.
Really thought she was a good teacher until the last couple weeks of class. She rushed us through material, only to drop the ball, giving us an incomplete review for the final.
She thinks she is all that. Maybe to her she is. She is impatient and mean. She loses her cool all the time. Maybe she should go back to school herself and take a Psyc class or something.

I have never had a more rude and self centered teacher in my entire life! My son was born on a class day and she ridiculed me for not coming to class. I told her family comes first and she said school comes first. That SAME attitude was shown by her throughout the semester. Don't even try and ask a question in class or she'll chew your head off!!
I'm sure she means well, but she is just not helpful. It is very difficult to get her help you indiviually, and she is also very hard to understand. (I dont think her accent has anything to do with it, either.) Definitley consider her carefully before staying.
I don't like her at all. She's supposed to teach not judge. We're there to learn, it's not like we know eveerything.

Good Lord! I pitty the fool that has to take Ms. Hassani. One of the most prideful, rude, and intolerable people I have ever met. She is the hardest teacher I have ever had in college and so inpersonal. I studied my butt off to get a B and that B felt like an A in her class. She's tough! But I like her. I had a very hard time in this class because I suck at algebra. She has take home quizzes, gives points for doing the homework, gives partial credit on tests and lets you work in groups on activities. Be prepared to work hard though. She's not for everyone.
The closest thing I can think that P.O.W.'S go through (prisoners of war). This class was absolutely insane. Not that the material was that difficult but she is absolutley 100% the worst teacher I have ever had in my 3 year college career. Like the guy said before I pitty the fool that takes this person.
I just wanted to join the band-wagon. She's awful. She doesn't "teach". When she does examples she skips steps, makes mathematical errors, then asks "do you understand" and when you say "I don't get it" she sighs like you're a total idiot and explains it poorly again. Also, her tests are much harder than the homework leading up to them.
she is SO nice. and she truly cares about geting you to understand, she just doesnt speak very clearly. her thoughts get ahead of her, and you kind of have to really try to listen hard and pay attention. but shes so sweet and really wants you to pass. ALL YO HAVE TO DO IS TRY!! shes great.

Never have I come closer to killing myself than in Ms. Hassani's class. Get a therapist because your going to need it. Oh, good luck trying to get some turtoring for this class because everyone that goes is from one of her classes...and you'll wait forever. Oh, I'm having flash backs right now!!! Ahhhh Don't take her if you want to pass.

Ms. Hassani is a wonderful professor. I hate math & have always struggled in the subject. She's a very smart teacher. She goes a little fast but she definately makes sure you learn the information. I think everyone who says she's a horrible professor are the students that don't like to work hard and study. She's very nice if you show you're trying.
Worst teacher ever! Half of the problems she could not figure out during class or would make mistakes, then give up and move on, although our test would have those problems on it. Skips steps, assuming we already know them, and gets very frustrated if you ask questions. I'd advise to take another teacher, or perhaps take a hit on your transcript
Worst teacher ever!!! Nevermind the huge language barrier, but she di not do problems from the book she made her own stuff up, with no examples and then tested you on it. I never missed a class and did all the work and still could not pass. By the end of the semester there were 3 people out of 38 left and only 1 passed.

College Algebra+Ms. Hassani=F grade. As I have looked back on my classes in college (just graduated) Ms. Hassani's college alg. class was the second hardest class I had ever had. 1st was Cost Accting @ USF. Never worked so hard for the B I got in her class before and felt like it was an A. I highly recommend you don't take this class with her.
I am not good at algebra, but am holding onto an A in her class, so she must do something right. She will answer your questions if you ask. She does go fast, but doesn't mind slowing down if you ask...believe me, I have. She's never made me feel stupid. Just don't talk in her class and be prepared for lots of homework.

I'm just finishing up the most difficult class of my life and am absolutely impressed in myself that I made it through the hellish class taught by the hellish teacher Ms. Hassani. I felt like a P.O.W. because of the tortue Ms. Hassanni put me through. First C of my college career. I'm pissed.
She explains clearly but she talks so loud. She offers extra credit. Make sure you check your answers for quizzes and tests, because sometimes she did them wrong. Overall she is a very good professor.

This teacher was the worst I've had yet! She has a HEAVY accent. Doesnt care about her students, She wont go out of her way to help you no matter what. She verbally berates students in front of the class. tons of work, online and book. Overall, save yourself the grief and do as the others said "just dont take this class.

Sometimes there was way too much online homework. A lot of people didn't complete it all and it was part of the grade.

This teacher is ridiculously hard and the majority of your grade is made up of tests. The tests are harder than any of the homework or quizzes with material we have never even discussed. GET OUT OF THIS CLASS WHILE YOU CAN!
I had this teacher for 3 math classes in a row and I passed all of them. If you pay attention you will pass, she is a good teacher and knows what she is talking about.
She goes impossibly fast through everything and says, "Are you all with me?" Not like she pauses to see everyone shake their head no. She makes it impossible to learn from her. I had to go over all the concepts on my own and with help from a tutoring website. Don't bother taking her class.
This was the hardest math class I have taken. I didn't understand something so I raised my hand to ask her to explain it again, and she looked at me like I should have already known it. She would make mistakes while showing examples, and always say "Are you with me?" and if someone said "No" she would get frustrated with them.
yes , she repeats the famous phrase "are you with me?" like all the time , but she is still by far a very good teacher . i came to HCC still hating math as i did in high school and what do you know , i passed her class with a B . pay attention , do your homework and ask questions . you will be fine . i highly recommend her .

I have not hated a math class this much in a really long time. She teaches entirely too fast, does not give students time to work practice problems, and does not answer questions. DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS.

very knowledgable professor with plenty of teaching experience. if very capable of covering material in a fast and timely matter and keeping students with her. can explain and demonstrate material in a variety of ways so that everyone benefits from the course.
i didnt like this teacher, she spoke to fast and she had an accent so you cant understand what she was saying, she moved really fast with the material, if math is not your strong point i wouldnt advise you to take her.
"Are you with me?" She is an Ok teacher. She does teach the subject but she moves too fast and she make you feel dumb if you ask a question. Her test are hard, there are questions on her test that she didnt ever go over. You had better be serious about this class to pass. No slacker should even attempt this class. She needs to learn to proofread.

the textbook is expensive so i would recomend not getting it. but you will need to purchase mymathlab. you can use examples on this website if you need help instead of textbook. everyone in my class seems to hate her but as long as you dont text she's not horrible. she knows how to teach and curves tests alot but u cant miss class alot
This lady cannot teach. It's as simple as that. Hard to understand, vague on many concepts, messed up grading skills. Oh, and her tests are poorly written. Avoid her while you still can.

She was a good professor; you can barely understand a word she is saying though. All homework is online which is helpful bc i didnt learn a thing in class. you will basically learn online. she is helpful though (dropped lowest test score)
College algebra...she explains the work more harder then what it actually is...
Hard to understand and moves very quickly through the material, but she did seam to be helpful to any students that were having problems. Plus she bumped up my final grade 2 or 3 points, for no apparent reason, so that I was able to make an "A" in the class.
If you are lazy I suggest you do not take this class. Hassani is the best math teacher i've had in school yet. I've taken two classes with her so far. I've never gotten below an A on her tests yet. Very rewarding class. Thanks.

Her teaching methods dont compensate for all the work you have to do online and the [roblems for her exams are not even found in the textbook. If you already registered PULL OUT! I started off the class with full attention, sitting in the front, giving it my all. She has a very heavy accent. Very very difficult to understand so i stuck to book and on-campus tutoring. She gives Activities which are like in-class quizzes that she does not help on, but you work with a partner. 3 people were left to take final.

She seems to be in a rush. She is distracted easily by students not pay attention to her. She often breaks into story about her family but complains that she doesn't have time to further explain a problem when a student doesn't understand. Her favorite line is this easy why don't you understand the information. She presents info but doesn't teach.

ok.i was always looking at rate my professor, and never really took it seriously,and decided to take her class, and i got 2 semesters with her.i had 99.4% overall at the end of one semester,and i ended up with a B...she sad my final was too low.same in the second semester...so it's up to you..
She had a pretty thick accent, but spoke English very well, so I won't really say anythin against her regarding that, however, a times I did have a hard time understanding what she was saying. She seemed very nice and helpful the first few classes, but then would become annoyed or impatient when people would ask questions. I wouldn't reccomend her.
Good teacher. Hard to understand though. Has an accent. If you pay attention, attend class and do the homework you'll get an easy A. It is better to save your questions until after class and always acknowledge her questions and responses in the lecture.
I'll be honest, Hassani is probably my least favorite teacher at HCC. She is hard to understand, gets upset if you try and correct any errors she may have made, and because of the fast paced nature of 1147, she refused to go back over previous subjects. An "A" is doable, but you will have to work for it.
I have not finished the class yet, but i am 6 weeks in during the condensed summer semester. I like her a lot and will be sure to take her classes whenever possible.
She went too fast, only went over homework if specifically asked, a lot of online homework but little review in class. Very little prep for tests or quizes. Very difficult unless you already know what you're doing. Been there forever so doesn't care if students are comprehending what she's doing. Do not take her courses if you struggle at all!
Very difficult! Took intermedate class - teaches WAY too fast. mimimal review for tests or quizzes, too much online homework and does not review homework unless specifically asked. Grades tests but does not indicate what the error was, making it impossible to learn from mistakes. Very little consideration to whether students are learning! AVOID!!
I took MAT-1033 and MAC-1105 and got A. You have to pay attention to her class and don't miss a single day. English is my second language and I never had problem understanding her. Be serious about completing all online homework. She use to do quizzes at the beginning of the class,but you are allowed to your notes.She let you to correct test quest

Best Algebra teacher on the Brandon campus. You have to do the work, but she is fair.
Class is very fast paced. If you don't mind putting the effort you will do just fine in her class.
She is very nice and will work with you if you need help. She gives reviews before almost all the tests! MAKE SURE You attend class and do the online homework. She makes SURE you know every concept and will repeat as many times as you need her to. I did all my homework, studied about 2 hours for every test and got an A.
Worst teacher i do not like the way she teaches way too fast paced, and waayyy tooo muchh homework to do online like the time u spend on her homework u wont have time to do homework or anything for any other classes, and doesnt review over the whole material before the test you have to pretty much learn it on your own online.
She is a very good teacher. She keeps to her time schedule and helps you when you need it. She can be strict a bit or harsh but not all the time. Two-way street.
Best Teacher, Had gotten A+. Just attend your class regularly, and do your homework online on regular basis; surely you will get a better grade according to your work input.
FAST PACE. If math is a challenge for you I DO NOT RECOMMEND this professor. She conducts her class as if you are already familiar with the material. prepare 4: pop quizzes, drops at least lowest quiz grade,about 5 tests, TAKE NOTES, all of those Q's will be on the quiz or test, counts attendence as a grade, online homework an quizzes is the most difficult, there are about 5 of them. got an A
After the first class i wanted to drop this class. I didnt understand what she was saying in class and i thought she moved fast. I went home and decided to try it again the wednesday. Thank God i stayed in her class. SHe loves MAth and she is a great teacher. Just do your assignments cause they help a LOT.She is a good teacher. I got an A.

She is not a teacher for everyone, if you have a easy time understanding math then maybe you will understand her. She is fast paced and only gives a few examples, very difficult to understand.

Only take this class if youre already great at math. she teaches sevral lessons in one class period. she tells u to take notes, which you would need to anyway but moves on to the next problem before youd even have a chance to write the first one down! She moves entirely too fast and doesnt allow you the time to catch up.

I really enjoyed her. She does yell, but it's not in spite- she's just loud. Her accent is thick, but doesn't hinder learning. If anything, it makes the class a little funnier. If you listen, don't talk, don't text, and give her your full attention, she's a great teacher. She goes through every example step by step, and is willing to help.

This is a difficult class to keep up. Only take it if you are up for the challenge. I'm used to earning easy A's in math but received an 86% in hers. It's hard to understand her accent at times. Just follow the notes and study for the test. The activites usually have more than half of the anwers to the test as well so be sure to study those too.
by far the worst teacher hcc could have hired.You can do great and work really hard in her class all semester to find out at the end your grade sucks either she likes you or not and I'm not just saying that I'm speaking the truth.this teacher is mad at something and gets off failing you.you would think this was a class taught at Harvard . You can try your very best but if you aren't amazing at math, it will never be good enough for her. Do not take her unless you are practically a mathlete. Awful, awful teacher.

I've read many of these reviews before writing mine. Many are unfair. If you attend Ms. Hassani's class, do your homework. (which is no more than any other Math teacher) Pay attention in class PUT AWAY YOUR CELL PHONES PEOPLE!! She will call you out on the phone! You will do well! This is a college course. There is the Math Lab for extra help.
Midterm and final exams will have problems not included on the MathLab reviews. There will even be problems you will not have even been taught to solve. Missing information on tests will keep you from applying the steps you know to follow. Misleading and unpredictable, would not recommend.
Professor Hassani is a good professor. she gives 6 tests and a final, 5 online quizzes, and 5 activities (she pairs u with someone to work on some problems that are similar to the following test). she drops your lowest test and activity grades. her lecture is a little bit boring, but she's very helpful if you seek her help. i'd take her again
MAC 1147 is not supposed to be an easy class at all. It is basically 3 courses jammed into 1. Professor Hassini teaches hard and fast, background knowledge is required (which is why the class is limited to those with a B or better in college algebra) but she is extremely fair as long as you show you care. Great choice for an instructor.
Can you use mymathlab? Then you can pass this class. It was a little annoying that I had to take my final and midterm on campus. She responds very quickly and is pretty helpful too.
Homework and Tests were easy, when it came time for the midterm and final no reviews were sent out to online users, just a list of things you should know. Do not go by Blackboards grading average, she will tell you it's wrong, you'll get a false sense of having passed the class and she will tell you otherwise. Would not recommend.
Online class is entirely automated. Two weeks to complete the assigned chapter, with review and the test. Midterm and Final are on-campus. Just buy the MyMathLab code, you'll have access to the e-book with it. Otherwise, you'll spend an extra 30 for nothing.
Did not like her at all. She went too fast, tough grader, wasn't clear on certain assignments. Gives in class pop quizzes that are difficult. Raise your hand, she wont see you OR she will answer it and make you not want to ask another question.
If you don't like heavy accents then this class is not for you. She is tough but very good and a fair grader. If you do your homework and activities then you should be good. She is a bit fast. If you ask her a question she will example it. If you want an easy grade then this class is not for you.
The ones who complains in intermediate Algebra are obviously the ones who does not even do their workhomework or skips and talk to friends on their phones. This teacher literally will help you to understand a section if you are behind or lost. She will even go back to 1st grade teaching for the ones who are lost. Better than Kadamani by far.
This class goes fast, but rightfully so. If you come to class and stay on top of homework you will have no problem passing. Do all the problems on the activities and tests and you will get extra credit.
Love Professor Hassani. Had her class for 1033 which I received an A and 1105 which I received a C. The reason for that is my own fault. If you need help she will meet with you at 6:00 in the morning. This teacher cares. If you do the homework which is online and study or meet with her you are sure to pass. Test are fair and fair with grading.
Took MAC1105 online during summer and would definitely recommend this professor. It's a fast-paced class but easy if you go through her lecture videos and write down examples. Midterm and final were on campus and there were plenty of online tests which you can take twice. She'll take the better grade.
Taking her during the summer is a huge mistake. She doesn't put enough weight on homework(13%) and there are over 80+ homework assignments with an average of about 25 questions, some a lot longer and some just mathlab video lectures. This is a lot in 10 weeks. The syllabus read bring scantron for midterm. This was not the case.
BEST MATH PROFESSOR EVER!!!! I seriously suck at math, but she explained everything so well that I barely even needed to study for tests (I finished with an A). As long as you do the mymathlab work online and listen in class, you're good to go. Highly recommend her for this course.
Best math teacher:) took her for mac1105 and she made it so easy for me to understand. Passed the class with an A. All homework is online and the review is practicly the test. Really great teacher. Accent is strong but you can still understand her.
She rushes through every class trying to cover several lessons at a time with little real explanation to anything. You'll have to teach yourself with mymathlab but don't worry her tests in no way reflect the problems you've been doing there. If you ask for help you'll be met with cryptic answers at best.
Mrs. Hassani is amazing! Yes her accent is thicker but she tries so hard to make sure that you understand everything before the tests. She not only is always there to personally tutor you in her free time but she also puts a bunch of mock quizzes on mymathlab that aren't worth a grade so to help you out. I am bad at math and shes been so helpful.
Professor Hassani is a tough teacher. Yet, she truly cares about her students' success but if the student is not putting in the work then there is nothing she can do for him/her. She tests are not that hard just as long as you understand the material. Do the homework to understand. She is a great teacher. I took her for two classes and I love her.
She is the best. She truly cares about her students. She encourages students to ask questions and go see her when in need of any help. She teaches everything crystal clear. She can be fast sometimes but will slow down for everyone to understand. These reviews are really unfair, the students that dont like her are the ones that dont do the work.
Math has never come easy to me, however this professor will make sure you know what you are learning. She is very strict how attendance and does not allow cell phone use in her class, however she does that with good intentions. She just wants everyone's full attention because the class is extremely fast and difficult.
I will say at first I thought her teaching style will not be perfect for me. she went way to fast and gave no time to understand the lesson before she moved on to the next. but gradually the course got better. she slowed it down a little and even gave us printed notes for each lesson, but I still need a tutoring to pass. test every two weeks.
If you get it you get it, if you don't she moves on anyway. You must stick with her to pass! Doesn't like to help either.
Broken English. Some times it's very hard to understand what she's saying.
I took Ms. Hasani's online class. She is very communicative and clear about what she expects from her students. She makes you work for your grade, but it is all clearly mapped out for you.
To be honest one of the worst trachers i have ever encountered. Cant understand a thing she says. Doesn't explain anything well.
She rushes through lectures. Tons of work. Her exam reviews and notes do not help. If you know your stuff then you'll be fine but if you're struggling in math do not take this class.
She doesn't spend more than a day covering a section. Also, some of the problems I encountered on the test were not even covered in class or on her notes. All the homework, quizzes are to be completed online through mymathlab on Pearson. Unless you are proficient in Algebra, I would strongly advise you to pick another class.
Hardest class on the campus. Two math classes in one. To take this class you NEED a B in College Algebra, so we're not complete dummies. Half the class is lower than a C(looked at median grades). Prof is nice, but she loses the class a lot. Hard work won't work(4+hours/day got a C), you NEED to study smart as well. Got a book on studying to help.
Hassani is a great teacher who really cares. However, to succeed in her class, you must have strong skills in math--especially College Algebra. She is very lenient and may extend deadlines if you ask her. My advice is to ask lots of questions, pay attention to the homework, and don't give up. Take her, but prepare to work.
It's really hard not to get an A as long as you try. You have to go through all the hw and the questions are the same kind as the ones on the test. She also gives extra credit on midterms and final. She responds quickly by email and I finished with a 101. Homework is a must.

Horrible class. If you are taking liberal arts because you struggle with math DON'T take this class. She provides incorrect formulas & denies it. Has well over 100 problems worth of homework, largest part of workload in the class and its only worth 10%. she complies the final exam of things she's already quizzed you on with BAD "E.C" method.
Forgiving grader on tests, lots of homework and chapter tests through MyMathLab but if you do well on your midterm and final you'll pass. To be honest, I flubbed quite a few tests, and I still passed with a C. If you're a liberal arts major this is a solid math professor. I took her online, so I can't say how she is as an actual professor.
Was extremely tough, comes in class and starting yelling instead of teaching. She talks at you instead of explaining the actual lecture. However she will explain it better during her office hours but will not really give explanation or clarifications on why she does things her way.
I've never been more disappointed in a professor ever. Literally made my entire class buy materials for a midterm exam and proceeded to say we did not need it despite her making memos online about how important said material was.
I took his Inter Algebra class online and it was a piece of cake. Easiest class I have ever taken. I enjoy math and am good at it, so this class just felt like a review of high school math. I took it over the summer. Two on campus exams. Reviews are very helpful.
Professor Hassani is caring and a lenient grader. I sugguest taking her in class, because the Pearosn Mathlab lectures are not very helpful. The homework and quizzes have questions that are not explained in the lectures. Other than that, she responds quickly to emails and will help you pass if you put effort in the assignments.
Goes through examples too quickly and rarely explains the process. Unless youre willing to study outside of her class, be prepared to see your gpa drop.
The class is based off of an internet program, which was both easy and hard. I knew exactly what to do every night, but not knowing much in math to begin with, the workload was a bit overwhelming. If you already know the ground rules, it would be easy. The exams were well written.
HORRIBLE! Didnt understand a thing she said and when asked to repeat again she would give attitude. She doesnt care if you understand or not. Get ready to youtube all the material for gelp cause thats what i had to do to get help. She even wouldnt answer questions after class. WORST TEACHER EVER! Gave her a 1 and thst was being super generous!

Major language barrier! It's so hard to understand what she's saying sometimes. She teaches way too fast and she has very strict rules. If you can understand what she says, then it's a great class.
