Maia never puts things into the grade book which makes it hard to know what grade you have. She doesn't know how to use canvas and mixes up dates on everything. Our tests this quarter were both said to be on a Friday and were on the calendar, yet when the week came to take the tests they were on Wednesdays even when the calendar still said Friday.

Maia is a really nice professor but the positives end there. She's super disorganized with dates which makes it super hard to study and do well on tests. Theres also lots of homework and assignments... you'll do well if you complete everything and go to office hours/post on the discussion board for extra credit

Maia is helpful, if you really want to be in her class there is a good amount of homework. However the homework and videos do give you an understanding of the concept. She not only provides her videos but suggests other videos and also assigns book readings, we all have to realize that its college math not high school.

It takes a little effort to solve the exercise (She will show you a video on how to solve the exercise, but it's another problem of the same type). Passing this class is to attend all office hours - or to attend all discussion sessions. Quiz and Exam are quite similar to what she gives in homework. If you do full homework, you will be fine.

I love Maia, but will give you an accurate description of how her class is: It's very homework heavy (College math). One homework takes about 3-4 hours to complete. Attend as many office hours or discussions as you can in your class for engagement points. One quiz each week. I had Exams 1, 2, 3 no final. Desmos activities, and shes late at grading!

I took Maia's math classes from class 140-152 and learned a great deal about math from her. Would take her math class again if I needed more. HW is recommended to do as it was/is extra credit and is very relevant to the questions on quizzes and tests. Quizzes must be passed with 100%, however multiple attempts are allowed.

I've taken every math credit at SPSCC from her so far. Her format is very predictable and organized, and she's one of the nicest teachers I've ever met. She's extremely accessible and very happy to help outside of class, through emails, or even personal zooms. The content may be difficult, but she does everything she can to help.

Maia is one of the best math teachers I have ever taken. Although attendance is optional, she holds two meetings a week which really helps feedback-wise. I must say you will have a lot of homework, 4 assignments a week, 7 pages each, and over an hour of video. The upside is that shess very predictable, so its easy to get into a groove with things.

I would definitely recommend Professor Maia for any course. I had about 2-4.5 hours of homework from this class weekly but all the work was beneficial to my learning. She made math better

I can't stress enough how important it is to go to her office hours. I barely got an A in this class and it was only because I started going to her zooms. She is willing to go over everything and is very clear that no question is a dumb question. She's not great at responding to emails though, so the best way to reach her is through zoom.

Taking a class from Maia is a good way to ensure 3-4 assignments a week about 5-13 pages long each. She creates her own workbook and gives you very detailed videos on how to solve the problems, then you get practice problems. She is very quick to answer questions and accepts late work. I didn't do well, but frankly I struggle in general with math

She seems like a great person but teaching wise a big no for me. You will get at least 3 hours of homework every day and a quiz every week that is supposedly based on the homework but is 10 times harder. Its truly frustrating trying to learn from crappy videos that barely teach you the bare minimum that don't elaborate on what you learn.

Great and kind professor, took her for CALC151 and 152. The workload was heavy, and sometimes, the homework was more difficult than the material taught in lectures, but that didn't happen a lot.
