He's really funny and make the class more interesting. It was morning class but he made it interesting enough not to make me fall asleep. he showed video clips like Bon qui qui. He checks attendance though so can't skip class. he really cares about his students and emails if you miss the class and tries to help alot. He's really awesome teacher!

I have a morning class with him and for a morning class he makes it pretty interesting. It is one of my favorite classes and I am very entertained by Malcolm's humor. He brought in a fart machine one time which was hilarious! Besides the fun part of his class, this class is showing me that I can actually enjoy writing. This class is enjoyable.

Mr. Campbell was so much fun and made me feel like a writer. i think he expects a lot but he made assignments easy by braking them up into steps. The class was at 8 but it was still my favorite to go to. One thing - you can't miss more than 4 classes. He really will lower your grade if you do. My favorite teacher so far

Kick ass teacher. Truly does his best to keep students interested in the lecture. Lots of writing however it's expected. He does curse a lot but only to keep you attentive and laughing your ass off. Rambles about his wife a lot which for me was the funniest part of the class, if you take him, you will see what I'm talking about.

I absolutely loved his class he does little things to make you laugh and he constantly gripes about his wife! Wonderful teacher! Even at 8:00 AM, he was full of energy and incredibly passionate about English. His jokes made my mornings. To my relief, the material we covered was not overkill (grammar, spelling, parts of speech). Instead, we focused a lot on current events, writing style, and formatting, which will continue to be relevant in future classes.

The class revolves around a research project which includes various assignments and revisions. He let our class choose our own topic and was very entertaining during each class. Definitely take this class if you have the chance he is great and always kept me laughing.

Mr. Campbell is awesome! He doesn't grade your papers based on your grammar, spelling, etc. nor does he necessarily grade based on how well you can write. He grades based on the amount of effort you put into his class. If writing isn't your forte, take this professor! If you love writing, still take this professor!

He is a great professor and super personal and funny. It is an enjoyable class to go to and the papers you write are not that long. He gives great feedback on papers and the peer editing helps to. He does take attendance but he keeps you entertained throughout class. You do have to do a good amount of work but not too much. IT IS WORTH IT!

Malcolm is a funny guy although he can get kind of obnoxious. His class isn't bad but he assigns a lot of homework that was hard to keep up with because of my other classes. Also puts a lot of emphasis on peer review which forces you to start your EIP early and send drafts to your partners. He's pretty helpful and lenient with work.

I am not a writer, I don't like to write, and I've always struggled with it. Professor Campbell understands that not everyone is an English major. He is one of those few teachers that cares more about his students learning, than giving grades. If you try, honestly try to learn and get better, you will get an A in this class. Good professor and good class. There's a lot of reading, but most of it is short & enjoyable. It's an above-and-beyond style class, so be prepared to work for an A. There's the EIP where you have to research and write about a topic and you'll have to create an ePortfolio, but it's nothing hard. He'll help you along the way and make it easy.

We were assigned an extended inquiry project, this consists of multiple papers leading up to final paper on the subject you pick. Despite all of the work, Professor Campbell makes the EIP bearable. You'll only get pop quizzes if people aren't doing the readings. His class is straightforward, so you'll do well. Don't procrastinate on your ePortfolio. That makes the difference in getting an A or a B in his class.

He grades on "what you are saying", "how effectively you shared your thoughts", does NOT grade on grammar! He is very accessible outside of classes (usually responded to my emails within a few hours). The class consisted of fewer writing assignments than I had anticipated, but enough to keep you busy.

This may be the toughest class I took all semester. Campbell is a super nice guy but it's paper after paper after paper. I feel like I've been bent over the back of the couch and had my back blown out. Super fair grader, and tries to make the class as engaging as possible. 10/10 would take again. Just do the work in a timely manner.

The professor was very understanding and tried to help his students. He is also very passionate and cares about his students. He tries to make the class fun with humor and dad jokes which aren't that bad. Expect a few long writing assignment and a big final project.

My second time having professor Campbell and I do not regret it and I would take him again if I could. he is so caring and he isn't big into grades but more so progress and effort. His classes aren't necessarily mandatory, but showing up and presenting will help a lot with making a good connection with him. This professor is the best option.

Gives you plenty of time to revise and work on things, offers help at every stage of your writing process, and never fails to make you smile at least once a class. You are doing yourself a disservice by not taking one of his classes during your time at UNCC. I

Personality wise, his jokes are corny but he tries to be funny which is nice. However he is one of those "I dont give As" teachers. He says you have to do more than required for that. One time I got a 49/50 on a project and when I asked him why he said "your work was great, I just don't give 50s (100s)"? Expect to make an A- if you try hard.

I was really nervous about taking a WRDS class because I've never been a fan of writing papers. But taking his course completely changed my perspective. The workload is pretty balanced, and he gives helpful feedback that makes it easier to improve on future assignments. On top of that, he's also very supportive and cares about his students.
