In order to pass attend every class. His lecture notes are questions on his tests. One research paper. If you have good attendance, take this class and take good notes to past.
Very interesting and smart man. Doesn't speak english too well, but he will repeat anything you need him to. Class consists of one 6 page paper and 2 test. Just go to class and take good notes and the class is no problem. I got an A.
His english isn't perfect, but he repeats anything you ask. he has a good sense of humor and he goes pretty easy on you. I'd suggest him to anyone who needs a philosophy class. You just need to take notes and you're set.
The research paper isn't fun at all.
cool guy, always willing to help. grades papers easy, but the final is pretty tough. don't take this class if you never plan on attending.
amazing course and teacher. don't take this class if you plan on skipping. it's too interesting to want to miss. just study hard and research your paper and you'll get an A.
this guy is cool... there is no book for the class so you save some $$$ and if you just go to class you will do fine... there is one paper and two tests which are essay and they arent that hard... very interesting to listen to but at the same time makes you sleepy if you dont care to listen to him..
This teacher is great! His class is easy if you attend because his lectures are EXACTLY what is on the exams. he even points out wut will be on the exam- no surprises. He makes the material pretty interesting and there's no book to buy!!!
Good teacher overall, very clear on what he wants and his lectures are interesting. He is a little bit overboard with precision, but a nice guy.
This class has only 2 test. The early test and a final. The only thing left if the 35 point essay, which isn't bad at all, all you have to do is be a critic and give justifications on your opinions of a newspaper article. He's such a nice man too!
This was surprisingly my most interesting class, He really is a great teacher, and if you go to all the classes and write the notes you can get an A. There were only two test and one 5 page paper. The test were pretty easy with only 3 or 4 essay questions, and the paper is just opinion.
LEARNED MUCH IN THIS CLASS, LOVE HIS ACCENT AND HE SUCH A WISE MAN,,,KNOWS HIS STUFF,,,I GOT A "B" IN HIS COURSE NOT W/ MUCH EFFORT,,,
he is a good teacher. he is easy to follow, and his lectures were interesting. made me like philosphy alot more, and sparked my interest. very helpful and funny.
He is a nice guy and sometimes pretty funny but the class itself can be extremely dull at times. Just go to class and takes notes to get a good grade.
You have to know exactly what you're doing on the tests bc he is strict on precision. The material is too technical. Class is based on a midterm, final, and paper. All you have to do is show up and pay attention. He's a nice guy and has interesting views.
Great professor! Knows what he's talking about. Yeah on occasions he has his opinion but who doesn't & he only does to get our minds going so we can talk about it. His class is pretty interesting. Make sure you take a lot of notes b/c you'll need it for the midterm (2 short answer and essay) & final (5 essays). Just know the basic idea for the exam
plain and simple. this guys is an ass.
Sorry but no. He talks about off the wall things and how animals will mate with other animals with better genes. Points are only based on the mid-term, final, and the paper. Talks a lot about Kant. Was not worth it at all. Not my idea of how intro. to ethics was suppose to be about.
Awesome prof. Leads intriguing discussions and entertains his students.
Very difficult to understand him because English is his third language. When he does speak it well, it's hard to follow him. Aside from that, it wasn't a bad class. He is very strict on the work though - precision of answers is a key to success in this class. Quite laid back for his age... I think he came into class with a biker outfit on once?
watch out for this guy. he cheated me out of a well earned b. i asked about it in his office, he dismissed his own points system and pretty much said i deserved that c. keep all your papers and watch your points.
It is very very hard to understand him. There are only a midterm, a research paper and a final. Watch out. If you fail his midterm, you might as well drop the course!
Class is based on midterm, paper, and final. It is hard to understand the professor because English is not his first language. I would recommend this professor to those who attend every class and have strong note taking abilities, otherwise avoid. Nice man overall and knows what he is talking about.
He has that dorky kinda humor(It's funny), he knows what he is talking about and gets straight to the point. But grading off of two test and one paper didn't really cut it for me.
He is really nice and helpfull. Most of the time you have to go to class. Dont need to buy a book.
He's kinda wierd, but a good wierd cause sometimes he makes funny remarks.. it's easy go to class and write down everything he says and memorize it for the midterm and final... one term paper but it's an agree/disagree type of paper..easy stuff.. midterm was a joke..
After failing two tests, I dropped out. Next semester I took same class at a community college & received A. This teacher makes the material harder than it should be and all his exams are essay type questions.

He makes the subject harder than it should be. Stay away at all cost!
I agree. This guys makes it harder than it should be. Besides, all his exams are 3 page essay type.
His exams are just too hard. Failed first exam and dropped out. I took it with another professor, I got B. Take it with another professor.
a little intimidating but cool. hes probably one of the few teachers that are still passionate about what they teach, which i love most about him. his class is definitely challenging; you do have to study for the tests and stay awake in class despite his constant ramblings and going off on tangents. i would recommend him. he really knows his crap.
He's a great teacher who is passionate about what he teaches. It's my kind of class; one midterm, one research paper, one final. Got an A...just pay attention and think about the information rather than memorizing it. His class reminds me of CWL 100 with Hauessler (sp?)...
Great professor!!! One midterm, one research paper, and the final. Go to class all the time and take good notes. Great class to realize reality.
many people are forced to drop his class. my fav class of the semester but not very clear on what he wants. i learned alot (thats what college is about, right?) but had to drop.
Very unfriendly. makes the subject much harder than it is. Exams are super tough. grading is even worse. take it with someone else!
exams are super tough, grading are super tough, very unfriendly, received D, took it in community college and got an easy A. take it in community college or with another instructor.

Easy A if you see things his way.
He makes this lower division g.e. class way harder than it should be with all essay type exams. I dropped after getting F on the first exam. Like the earlier dude's remark, I took it at a local community college after dropping and received an easy B.
He's so awesome. At first I didn't like his class at all, and had no interest in the subject of philosophy. However, he quickly changed my mind. He's really good and he's very nice. U can pass if you miss classes but it's a lot of work to catch up, so try not to. REALLY good class, great guy, funny, easy to understand. I got an A.

Unless you cheat or you are re-taking this class, you can't pass his class. If you are good at cheating, take him, otherwise, no way!
The first couple weeks of class I was like "WTF I cant understand his accent, he's too uptight, this sucks." But when I got used to his accent and got to know his personality, he became a really cool guy! The stuff we learn is SOOO interesting I loved it! If you are a good essay writer you will ace his class, if not, don't count on it.
Once you get past the accent, he's not so bad. He really knows his stuff and gives extra credit to students who put their two cents in. He knows his essay exams are tough but if you dont miss class, you'll know exactly what he's looking for.
Couldn't get past his accent after a month and a half. Noticed he would start his sentences loud and then mumbled as he went on. Tests on lecture only. Must go to class to get specific notes. Had to drop class, just couldn't take him any more. I like to understand what I am trying to learn.
He is a really interesting man, has a lot of stories, and is well educated. Just pay attention in class, the tests do consist of essays but they are pretty straight forward. There is one 6 page essay assignment, which only serves to boost your grade.
Easy grader with the article section. Other parts are a bit difficult, but if you go to class and work on them it is easy. Can be a little harsh sometimes, but overall an easy teacher.
Easy grader. Just show up for class and take good notes. Volunteer to read and answer his questions. Don't be shy. There are no wrong/stupid answers in philosophy. He welcomes them. Easy A.
If you show up and take notes, you should be able to pass. Class consisits of 2 tests, 1 four to six page paper (graded very liberally) and an attendance grade (which he says he gives full points to for anyone he remembers showing up regularly)Only difficult part of the class for me were the in-class essays on the tests.
He is a bery nice teacher, very helpful and the stuff isn't that hard if you listen in class.
i loved this guy! he is so interesting and really has a passion for teaching philosophy. rather than reading from a text book he gives his own examples and explanations that make a lot more sense than any book. i'd suggest him to anyone just as long as you show up more than half the time and put in your 2 cents every now and then. great teacher!
I really liked him. He was a great professor. People got frustrated because of his accent, but it wasn't really a big deal. As long as you actively participate in the class and show that you aren't stupid, you'll do fine.
has an accent, slow reader, is not afraid to calll someone stupid, can be funny at times, has favorites (i was one), i felt really uncomfortable around him 98% of the time. good class, i just didn't like him very much
This is not an easy class! However he's a good teacher, and he is very clear on his expectations. Take a lot of notes and prepare well for his essay exams, and you'll do fine.
this guy isnt really that hard. his accent isnt that bad either. i got a B in the class but it was only cause i didnt study for the midterm. if not i coulda got an A. but its up to you. u dont need the book its worthless. u only need it when isung it in class and thats it. there is only one midterm, a term paper, and a final. pretty simple.
This class is quite interesting...Dr. Khazaee presents the subject in such a way that makes me want to think. It is easier in the beginning, as are most classes, but becomes more challenging later on. You gotta pay attention and study well for the midterms, which are more about knowing how to answer the ?'s than the usual memorization.
The best and greatest!
The grading system is somewhat scary because he only grades three things in the entire class but He is quite lenient. Great professor.
definitely has his favorites, which is frustrating if you're trying your hardest in the class coz it's intimidating. only has 3 grades in the whole semester. his midterm consisted of only 6 questions, and in the middle of the semester, he puts you in groups, where you have discussions. VERY easy when it came to grading the term paper.
he is extremely intimidating. BUT overall a great professor. surprisingly he grades fair/easy on tests and term papers.
only gives 3 assignments including the final. can not understand his heavy accen and material is pointless. dumb class and professor wasn't much better.
Taking notes is a must, but everything's easy as long as you pay attention. His accent is definitely not as bad as the other reviewers wrote, I thought he was very easy to understand. He seemed very, very passionate about the class, about ethics, Nietzsche and Marx -- that made the class and lectures really interesting for me.
Definitely not as bad as everyone said. He is an easy grader, but very heavy on participation. Lets you leave early most days. Tests and midterms extremely easy. If you're smart, this class is an easy A
Great professor. Go to class and take good notes and you will be fine. Very passionate and knowledgeable about what he teaches. Definitely a class worth taking.
not as bad as everyone made him out to be. his accent was clear. the class was easy, usually let's out a little early. very interesting class. you will need the textbook a few weeks out of the term. he does have favorites though but anyone can be one if you just participate (which he's really big on)
he's not bad. make him know who you are and it helps. doesnt take attendance or learn names. 1 midterm 1 paper 1 final. everything is in notes so take good ones! kinda boring but bearable. grades paper VERY easy. He's alright you can take him. i did nothing for a B so its not bad, hes very passionate and very understanding of outside circumstances
He is a very good preofessor. Taught me a lot about ethics in many areas. I aced his midterm, paper, and final. Not hard to do if he gives you the answers to his tests and specific instructions for his paper. You don't need to make him know who you are, it is useless He doesn't want to know names. He does read what you write and will recognize peop
He is an easy grader! very easy if you come to class and take his notes. Midterm, Paper and Exam is extremely easy if you take notes!
This teacher makes the class seems hard, but it is not. He is an extremely easy grader. This class should be an easy A for everybody. Although the teacher himself is weird, in the end he turned out okay. He's intimidating, but he's easy. So it all balance out. EASY CLASS.
at first, I thought he was extremely hard, and hard to understand because he has a thick Persian accent. But after a few sessions, I got used to the accent. I totally bombed the midterm, but i guess i did ok on the midterm essay and final because I ended up with a B, when i thought i failed, lol! take him! he's misunderstood, but a fair professor!
EASY EASY Teacher. you don't have to attend but you should since his notes he gives are what are on the tests. He tells you exactly what is on the midterm and final you just have to memorize everything 2 TESTS MIDTERM AND FINAL AND 1 PAPER an easy grader. I would take him EASY A
Very easy grader. As long as you show up every day and take notes in class, you will be prepared for the exams. He is a little intimidating. He doesn't like to answer many questions in class but prefers you meet after class to talk. He is incredibly intelligent and insightful, I really enjoyed his class and would like to learn from him again later.
He class was kind of challenging at first. little mistakes hurt me on the midterm and on the final it was hard. but surprisingly i got a B. he is a easy grader when i comes to the essay.
Great teacher. There is not a lot of information in this class, so make sure you learn everything he gives you. He literally gives you the exact questions on the tests a week before. If you show up and take notes its extremely hard not to get an A.
He's serious about everyones education and grade. his notes are EXACTLY what he wants u to do on the exams so class attendance is mandatory. hes interested when u ask him questions or participating in class (or at least act like u want to know more). Easy grader. Tried to be funny but sometimes hes..weird. i got an A just from studying his notes.
Khazaee was very critical about what he wanted on his exams. There was a midterm and a final, and one paper, and the rest of the grade was participation. He was very confrontational if you asked a question. Made you feel dumb sometimes. Easy A, but he is not a very nice professor.
He may be a little testy with an accent sometimes, but Khazaee is behind his students as long as you put in the effort. He's a Great Guy who loves Continential Philosophy and it's ashame that he only teaches Lower-Division courses most of the time. I ended up getting an A out of Existentialism, and it was a Great Course overall!!!
Very easy class, we spent a lot of time on certain subjects, so it gets a little redundant but its helpful when it comes to tests and the paper. It was an easy A for me, but i did have to study a little. Dont go in too confident, underestimating the class can hurt your grade
He was rediculous. Although he offered help, he was rude and unclear. He attacked you if you had a question as well as did not allow you to ask other students for help. The class was more like a communications class in the beginning. I didn't like him.
His accent made it difficult to understand the material at first, but you get used to it quickly. He grades easy. That is, if you take notes and remember them for the exams, then it will be an easy A. I would be willing to bet he doesn't even read the papers. As long as it is long enough and on time you should get an A. He knows his stuff!!!
he's super rude and definitely unhelpful when you ask questions (whenever i asked his answer was generally along the lines of, "because it is!") he grades the midterm very specifically so it's easy to fail it but the essay he grades easily
His class is really hard. If you don't try you will fail unless you are an English person. Don't miss class and take all notes. First midterm is almost from the notes, one essay, and a final. The final was INCREDIBLY HARD but somehow I got an A. He's bit sarcastic and funny, not that bad. He's blunt but if you ask him Q after class he's pretty nice.
Greatest Professor ever! Extremely knowledgeable and passionate about Continental Philosophy, particularly Existentialism and its precursors. He knows so much about Nietzsche, Marx and Political Philosophy in general. He says some of the craziest things - and the way he dresses is just awesome! I highly recommend taking any class he offers.
Professor Khazee is extremely knowledgeable on philosophy.Class is quite boring but attendance is pretty much mandatory. Everything on the test is from his in class lectures .
He's a very knowledgable professor/philosopher, but he doesn't know how to communicate with his students. There are only 3 assignments- the midterm was 7 questions, but worth 30% of our overall grade. His expectations are ridiculous and his tests are 10 times harder than his practice activities.
Its a critical thinking class, so unlike other teachers, he is not afraid to challenge your views. Yes, he is at times a bit blunt, but it's entertaining at times. His tests count for virtually all the grade as expected from a college course, and the topics he covers are VERY interesting. Do consider this course as a refreshing addition to your GE
He is a bit intimidating but you soon realize he's actually a sweet guy. He wants you to succeed and will assign his midterm when he feels the class is ready for it. The class is really interesting and he loves participation. No txtbook so take REALLY good notes and try not to miss class. 1 midterm, 1 paper (topic of your choosing), and the final.
he isn't the easiest person to hear when he is stating things in class. he does crack jokes on students, so if you get offended or embarrassed easily don't take him. he is funny though, and very intelligent. make sure you talk to him so he knows you, you will do better that way.
If you care about your grade, get out while you can. Knows what he's teaching, but is extremely unhelpful.
He's not all that bad but its practically impossible to get an A. However a B is simple. Easy 1st test, & midterm essay, slightly difficult final. 1st test=30% essay=30% Final=30% and Participation=10%. Don't take unless you're ok with getting just a B and not an A. This was my most difficult class b/c getting even one wrong can ruin your grade. :(
I wouldn't recommend this professor for an easy 'A'. He gets annoyed if you ask him questions, so his office hours are pointless. DON'T come late to the exams because he reads the questions aloud, so if you come even a min. late he won't give you the questions. He picks on people too :P Exam, essay, final: 30%, participation: 10%.
I have to admit that obtaining an A in his class is difficult unless you are able to do extremely well on the final. However, I don't really know what the person before me was talking about because he never read questions aloud for my class (?) Anyway, the most difficult part about this class is probably the final.
Passed this class with a B. It may be difficult to pass this class with an A, but it is possible if you study. I actually liked this class because if you attended class, you were basically studying for the midterm and final. To study at home, you just need to review the practice problems that you do in class, that's it. He grades easy on the paper.
I would definitely NOT reccommend taking this professor! He gets annoyed if you ask questions and his lectures are extremely pointless to go to. There are many other better professors that teach philosophy
You need the worksheet and book for class! First half is easy and the midterm is from the sheet so just memorize that. Second half you read and get in groups. Last you analyze quotes. He is very rude sometimes so I hardly talked because I was scared. One paper, easy grader, then final. No presentations. He's ok just make sure to study. Gives EC
everything everyone else said. except he does like discussions with class. if you're wrong, hell let you know. if you don't do well with criticism, don't take him. but everyone is in the same boat..he will call on you also. not too difficult though.
There is little studying needed for exams if you attend class everyday and attempt all the in-class activities because the exams are exactly like them. Dr. Khazaee is a nice person as long as you don't say anything stupid. I recommend him since there is no HW and you don't have to read anything out of class to get an A or B.
Professor Khazaee is actually a very nice guy, he just isn't very clear on what he wants. Very easy B for barely going to class and not having to do anything but just give a little attention an A is possible if you actually study and go to class everyday. He's very specific on things and not afraid to challenge you on your opinions in front of the entire class. Don't take this class if you are looking for an easy A, but overall not bad at all.
It's a difficult course, but passable. Some of the things make absolutely no sense, but you get the hang of it after a while. The professor isn't too bad (actually kinda funny) but the class itself is kinda difficult.
Khazaee is an extremely good teacher. He focuses his class on 3 things arguments, article analyzation, & Language Functions. You have 1 test on the arguments which isn't that hard if U attend class & practice doing the arguments in the packet. A paper counts for the midterm. The final isn't too hard he will tell U what's on it.
This professor is unclear in what he wants for the essay assignment. He is very sarcastic and is not afraid to give you harsh criticism during class. If you are sensitive and don't take criticism well, don't take his class. You only use the book the first month of class, but after that it's not mandatory.
Very sarcastic and will openly challenge your ideas in class. Other than that the class was pretty easy the final was the most difficult part.
Khazee tells you how it is, and isn't afraid to argue with you in front of everyone. It's all with good intentions though! There's only a midterm, one essay, and a final. It's kind of difficult .. but you get used to it. At least there's no homework!
I would recommend this professor. His class is not that hard, and he didn't grade all that hard easy. He also tell you which problems will be on on the test and finals, so the only reason would be for you to fail would be if you just didn't even look at them. You do have a paper, but it is opinion based and you topic of your choice.
He was a super weird guy and kinda seemed wack sometimes but he's really intelligent. This class is super easy if you are even relatively good at English because that's basically all it covers. We makes some rude comments every now and then but can make funny little comments too. In general, a nice guy and a good class.
If you are looking for a real philosophy class, this isn't it. If you're looking for an easy class, this is it. Throughout the year there is three main units he focuses on. Theyre pretty easy but it can get a bit boring. Khazaee is a kook but he's a pretty chill guy.
I definitely do not recommend taking this class. Your grade is based on 30% exam, 30% essay, 30% final and 10% participation. I only missed 1 question on the exam and he took 5 % off my entire grade because there were only 7 questions. He is unclear on what he wants for the essay and the final is everything we covered. DO NOT TAKE HIM.
STAY AWAY!!! He is not helpful. The class consists of midterm (30%), paper (30%), final(30%) and participation(10%). You will never get a perfect score on your paper because and I quote "you are not a philosopher therefore you dont deserve perfect score"
I would not recommend taking this class. The professor is rude and very sarcastic. He is not at all clear in his instructions and the students are left to do the best with what they have. There are many other options to fulfill the GE requirement. His class consists of 1 midterm-30%, 1 essay-30%, 1 final-30%, & participation-10%. Do not take!
Learned my lesson read the comments he gave us a paper and did not really explain it and does not answer questions directly AVIOD the man- I now dread his class but if you do you only need the book after 2 months into the class and you do need it in class. Midterm was annoying, and he feels if we fail it is our fault and his teaching methods AVIOD
Grading is simple, 30% each on a midterm, 4-5page paper, and final, and 10% class participation. Never homework. Class is way boring, although he attempts to try and make a joke here or there. If you attend enough class you'll get the sucject, but if you need extra help or tutoring he is not very helpful. "refer to the syllabus"
This professor is not as bad as the other comments make him seem. If you expect to pass a class by not showing up, not participating, and not giving an effort. Then why are you in college? If you do try you will pass this class easily with an A. His teaching methods are simple.
I should be the procrastinator king(I should be studying). With that said, I got an A. Last minute both wrote the paper(A) and studied for the final. So, yeah it's an easy A. A pointer: this is a logic class, so your opinion has to be followed by facts(many people fail to see this). I did more work in a 1 unit kin class than here.
Horrible, horrible, horrible. He needs a reality check that students are trying to learn and they are not there for his venting session. Culturally insensitive and does not take into account that students are from all walks of life. Philosophy can be interesting but he does not make it so. Stay away!!
worst class I had I dreaded my mornings it was simple in class but questions were not properly answered and there are absolutes and if you don't have it perfect you lose points-worst class ever
Easy class but you don't learn anything and it's boring and pointless. His grading system is flawed however if you stick it out the whole way I doubt he fails anyone I earned a B even though my points added up to a C so I guess I'd recommend him... just not first thing in the morning.
He's very intimidating. Only 1 Midterm (30%), 1 Essay (30%), and 1 Final (30%). And the other (10%) is Attendance/Participation. U only need to participate once and he will give you the full points. This class is very confusing at first, but you will understand it after many practices. I got a B
Would not recommend unless your major involves lots of article analysis. The classes are pretty easy, but he's terrible at explaining things, he can occasionally be humorous but will also blatantly insult you in class.
do not take this class. wort prof. Extremely cocky and loves to embarrass his students. Not clear about assignments and difficult to talk to
Class is really easy, but EXTREMELY boring. Dont take an early morning/late afternoon or you'll fall asleep. Attendance not mandatory, but you need to go to class for the notes. His tests are based off the notes and he tells you exactly what is on the test. Pretty easy grader. Easy C/easy B if you're a decent enough writer.
He is very clear on what he grades on, and class attendance will earn you 10% of your grade, so it's advised that you attend. You learn a lot of the test material in class as well. There is one 4-6 page paper that you MUST follow his directions when writing it, or he will mark down your grade. Pay attention and learn in class and you will be fine.
He was OKAY. He was not very clear and would insult students on occasion. But, I studied very little for his class and got an A even though my points added up to a B. I only participated once and got the full participation points. Attendance not mandatory but definitely should go, most of what he says is on the test
Very unique guy. He does tend to put people on the spot but only if you don't follow directions. The material may be hard for some people to grasp since he likes things to be very specific. Only grades a midterm, midterm essay, and a final, but gives extra credit if the whole class does well. Just follow directions and you should be fine.
Professor Khazaee is a nice guy. He only calls out students when their doing something their not supposed to like on their phones. Class is easy and clear. 1 paper, 1 mid-term, and 1 final. He gives you potential questions for midterm and final. Fairly easy grader. For the paper you MUST follow the guidelines.
Definitely a unique professor. Repeats a lot of what he says and goes over topicsquestions for the midterm and the final so I suggest you pay very close attention on those days and write everything he says so you can plan out your essays before the test. Need to put in time to study for the tests, but overall, I got an A.
He only has 3 assignments in his grade book: Mid-term, 3-4 page essay, and a final. It's very rare to get an A, and it's pretty difficult to even get a B. He's very blunt about things, but a little bit helpful (but not much). Overall, not a teacher I would recommend if you really need extra attention on the subject.
great professor! he might come off as a very strict teacher, but he does have moments when he is funny. The lectures are the key to passing this class bc the tests are based off of them. he gives you all the potential test questions. the tests might only be 7 questions, but they are basically like short essays. this class is passable.
I took Professor Khazaee for PHIL 160 ethics and morals and i loved that class. But 170 was very difficult because he was not that good at explaining all the concepts. He did give us plenty of examples but gave you a hard time if you asked questions. Easy grader on the paper but midterm is crucial for your grade so study up.
Definitely unique man, rude, but funny, great criticism, intends to make you better, don't take it personal. Slow teaching, but helps with processing Clear grading criteria, clear in expectations and teaching, 1 test, no hw, but midterm 4-6 pg essay, cumulative final, discussion class, skip 1 to 2 days and it won't hurt. totally recommend him
Kinda funny. You need to have an open mind and really think. Its not hard just different from the normal. Discussions are so interesting. Just focus, that's where I went wrong and why I got a B. Its not so hard.
You don't really have to show up to class much because most of the things he says is repetitive. The paper was really easy, he grades that easily. The midterm is based off of classwork and he copy and pastes them for the test and that's easy, but he grades hard on it. The final is cumulative.
Fairly tough class but that's in part to how unusual this subject is. The concepts learned aren't difficult, just hard to be tested on. Khazaee as a person is hard to describe. He can be critical and rude at times. He doesn't always respond normally when asked questions. Simply put he's not very personable and just a different guy. Decent overall
Very rude professor... avoid at all costs.
This class was so easy for me. It's important to show up for lectures, take thorough notes, and follow directions. He gives test questions beforehand, and it's important to take the time to practice your responses at home. His honesty was refreshing, although moody and borderline immature at times.
As long as you apply yourself and participate, Dr. Khazaee will let you know what you need to do to improve and he appreciates the effort. If you do not make yourself known, it will be much more difficult to excel.
He is very rude & puts people on the spot all the time. His test are hard their written. Didn't have office hours on his syllabus, had to go ask him when &what time they were. First exam we took was postponed twice because he didn't show up one week which he didn't even email us to let us know & 2nd time he forgot the test in his trunk. AVOID!!!
You are either very good in his class or very bad. Sadly I'm the latter. Grades are very volatile. Essentially, you only get graded on 3 items. 30% exam, 30% essay, 30% final exam (10% participation, but that's easy to get). Either you get it or you don't -but hey, no homework Just remember, he "won't grade harshly as long as you are perfect."
you either get it or you don't. 30% of your grade is one essay that he gives high grades for so long as its incredibly liberal. He is very clear on his grading but is extremely picky so make sure you have everything right.
Only three things go into your grade, so it is really hard to maintain a good grade in the class, especially when he is a really hard grader. The topic of the class is already difficult, and his teaching and grading makes it almost impossible to get an A or B in the class.
This class can be difficult because there is only the midterm, essay, final, and participation that goes into the grade. I showed up to every class and although I had to study a lot for the midterm I did receive an A. Attendance is not mandatory but he explains everything clearly in class and it can not be understood if you don't show up.
I regret not switching out to another class when I had the chance. He was very rude, a strict grader, and made the class feel uncomfortable almost everyday with his strange, belittling jokes. I failed the midterm, did well on my essay, but somehow got a B in the class. Avoid this class at all costs, it is highly stressful and unnecessary.
Would not recommend his class. Theres only a paper, midterm, final, and participation. He was clear with what he wants in the paper and graded pretty easy. For the midterm it was mainly from the packet we did in class. The final was pretty difficult, but not to bad. He isn't friendly and can be rude.
Despite the other comments, I think Khazaee was a great professor. Graded on participation, one midterm, one essay, and the final. The first midterm should be relatively easy considering the questions were from the ones we did in class. He tries to give everyone A's on the essay. Show up to class every week, miss a few times, class will not be hard
The grade from this class is only composed of participation, the midterm, a paper, and the final. His instructions are not clear and he will change the rules on what he is teaching from day to day. There is no regular homework. He can be funny but also offensive at times. It's not a terribly difficult class, but he can be confusing.
Everyone always complains about him but this class is easy. Rarely went to class, he didn't take attendance and gave everyone a free 10% for participation. 1 paper & his grading is extremely lenient. midterm was prob the most difficult bc you either know it or you don't. Final wasn't bad. He is very sarcastic in class but nice during office hrs
Seems daunting because its a 100 pt class with only 2 tests and an essay, but it was manageable. Professor is sarcastically funny, but does put students on the spot. He'll put people on the spot if they come to late to class, if they forget their book, or sometimes if they ask a question he thinks is dumb. His lectures are enjoyable, however.
If you ask a question he thinks is dumb he will make a sarcastic comment about how dumb the question was. His class is all just a total of 100 points. Study hard for diagramming test because that is the hardest one.
Only 1 Exam which is 30 points, one research paper 30 pts, final 30 points, participation 10 pts. Not friendly or easy to approach. Isn't always at his office hours, cancel school class last min. Embarrasses students and puts them on blast. Not an easy A you have to work hard for your grade.
Personally, I got an A in the class but he is the absolute worst teacher I have ever had. I regret taking his class because he doesn't teach well and he likes to humiliate people to the point of making himself look superior. If I could give him a grade, it would be an F.
To do well in the class, you need to take notes, word for word and just memorize it. There's midterm, final, and a paper in the middle of semester. The paper is pretty simple. Midterm requires short paragraphs and final was short answer and 4 essays. Study what he tells you to study. WORD for WORD. Then you will be fine.
This guy was a piece of work. Probably the worst communicator I've ever seen in a educational institution. He would frequently get mad at students for not knowing things he hadn't told them yet. Basically mailed the class in. Would often fall asleep while students did the in-class work.
Do NOT take. I am the kind of student who likes taking the hard class if the teacher is still going to teach me. This guy will teach you nothing, he will fall asleep, assault the class, give you good grades during the semester, and be very unclear on everything and you'll miss enough points on the final to get a grade lower than what you expect.
He is very passionate about philosophy. He grades on a few things which is simple if you just study for a day of 2 on 5 questions. The reading isn't hard it's interesting if you like to know more about the ideas behind each subjected learned. His lectures are actually intriguing. It is best to participate. He seems a bit mean at time...
Chillest teacher with a cool Russian accent. Good thing is that there's no homework. Entire class time is spent practicing diagramming, analyzing articles, etc. (which is what the midterm/final is going to be on). 30% midterm, 30% paper, and 30% final. 10% participation. If he likes your class, he'll give 5% extra points.
