Professor Rose is extremely helpful and animated in her teaching style. Chemistry can be confusing and she will make all attempts to help -- she's very accessible via office hours and email. Very reasonable in HW grading and Test grading. Show your work and you'll get partial credit. She is new, so definitely take her before she becomes jaded.

I enjoyed Rose's lecture. Everyone should take this class if you get the chance t. Just like every class you have homework, 3 exams, and a final. But all of it is worth it! She is a reasonable grader and will HELP you WHENEVER you need help even if you have to do the whole hw assignment with her or if you want to talk about any thing random!

Very inexperienced. While she's generally an extremely nice professor, her tests are absurd. She doesn't seem to be able to tell what is easy and what is difficult for her students. During exams many of the students left in tears. Her study guides where at 3-5 pages long, and almost always unhelpful. her practice tests full of typos and useless.

I took her for Elementary Chemistry Lab and she was great. The class was a lot of fun so it was bearable to get through it. She explains everything clearly and is easy to get along with. Shes young too so she can relate easily to her students. Ask a lot of questions and you will pass. Pre labs required. Post labs hard but just get help.

Prof Rose is a really good teacher. She is willing to help and goes out of her way to help you on the test. She gives you plenty of study guides and practice exams. She makes the subject very easy to understand. I never really liked chem, but i still got an A in the class. I would take her class again in a heartbeat.

Nice person will tell you that you need to incest about 12hrs a week on chem. Didn't like the online computer for homework. she can talk very fast and she will usually go over her time by about 5 min. very anal about sig fig. no notes on test and no makeups.

Professor Rose is tough but I love her teaching style. Before I started this class Chem. intimidating me, taking this class with her I now really like Chem. Lots of homework but it's what helped me most.She also gives lots of xtra credit to help your grade. I am taking her next Chem class if that says anything.

Don't listen to everyone's hate comments, professor rose is a very well rounded teacher, she KNOWS her stuff WELL, answers ALL questions, and is VERY helpful if you go to her. Of course it isn't easy, it is chemistry, if you don't understand something, go to her office hours and she will answer everything. Just stay on top of your HW and your good.

Helpful via office hours and email.Honestly if you take notes, and rewrite them later and redo the problems without looking at notes, you should be fine.Have time for the mastering chem homework, late submission still gets some credit!! book helps you see explanation in a different view, but Rose's explanations are down to earth.

Rose is a terrific professor. I had so much trouble with chem until I took her chemistry boot camp. It whipped me into shape. The only way you cannot get the grade you want is if you don't work for it. I'd totally recommend her for someone who is interested in learning a lot.

Professor Rose provides clear instruction and does her best to equip you with the skills to do well in her class. Grading was very fair and reasonable. If you apply yourself in her class, you will do well. She was a little bit evasive when I asked for help in class, but I think that's because she wanted me to think harder about it on my own.

I got an A in v20 and a B in 1A. If you get a bad grade it because you dont do your homework and dont show your work on her quizs and tests. She gets back to you really fast on questions over email and is happy to scheduale time outside of office hours. Always excited to answer questions even if they are "stupid" ones & never gives the run around

Homework practically every week. Quiz every week. test about every 3 weeks. 5 tests + final including 14 chapters. tests relate to detailed notes and practice tests. this class is very time consuming so make sure you have time for it, especially with Rose. she isn't impossible she just has high standards. She is a very caring and sweet teacher, falling in love with her is a distinct possibility as a previous reviewer mentioned. She is very organized, try to emulate that quality and you'll most likely get an A. Her labs are tough, but you really learn a lot. If you have a chance to take every chemistry class at the college with her, do it.

She makes Chemistry so interesting and fun! You have to do the homework and there is a quiz each week, but she also gives out study guides before the tests. She's available all the time (office hours, email, phone, text, whatever works!) and really wants you to succeed! Excellent teacher.

i took her for the ORGANIC AND BIOCHEM LAB. i love malia, she is so fun and so was the class. you just mix a bunch of chemicals and do some cool stuff. i recommend this teach and class

I'd be surprised if you could find a better chemistry teacher at this school. Knowledgeable and passionate about what she does and extremely quick to reply to emails and help you out. This class is hard, but it's do-able. You're going to have to put some time into it but it will pay off. And yeah, she's pretty hot.

The class is fast paced. Prof. Rose is very clear and organized. She is available during office hours throughout the week or you can text and email her questions. She is very helpful, funny, mellow and caring. You will have to work really hard to get a good grade but, Prof. Rose will hold your hand the whole way and making sure you do well.

Engaging and clear. Leaves notes on board long enough for you to write them down clearly. Easy to pay attention to early in the morning. Only negative is that she WILL keep you until the last minute of class. She will find !SOMETHING! to talk about to keep you that last 2 minutes like her life depends on it.

I was scared to take this class but she made it very easy to understand. If you need an A for your nursing requirements or dental hygiene take her!! Her study guides and notes are very thorough and she give practice tests. Make sure you dont miss class. She is also available for questions via email 247. Impossible not to pass with a A or B.

Malia Rose is such an amazing instructor, she is very clear with the lectures and will take the time to help you out if there's any confusion. Her exams are not that difficult as long as you did your homework and did the practice exam. I recommend not missing a day of class since she covers a lot of material in one day.

Take notes in her class and work very hard on the the labs. She is very good about answering emails and is willing to help you. I made a two hour commute to take her class and it was so worth it!

Malia Rose is an excellent chemistry teacher.I had her for Chem V21 OrganicBiochem at VC and it was a hard class, but I went to all classes, did all the homework and put some time studying for tests and I got an A. She even gives you study guides for the tests, which at the college level is very nice for her to do.

I took ChemV01A Fall 2015 with Joy and dropped the class because I was failing. Took it again with Malia and wow.. I got an A in the course! She's an amazing professor and is willing to help if a student is in need. Homework is regular and there is a quiz on the most recent homework due that week. She's a great professor overall.

Professor Malia is fantastic. There is NO homework, but you will be doing work. Be wary, OChem is not an easy class, you will have to work HARD to get the grade you want. The textbook, in my opinion, is essential to pass the class. Ask questions, pay attention, put your work in, you'll pass. She makes the class as fair as possible, which is great.

Malia is the absolute best! This was my 2nd time taking ochem and she made it so easy for me to understand. You can tell she definitely loves the subject and her attitude never made class boring. Professor Rose is a great professor. Even whilst online, she made it her mission to make every experiment as interactive as possible. Plus, she makes video lectures, which are amazing! There is a lot of homework, but most of it is pretty easy if you watch the lectures. Amazing class that has taught me so much! I recommend her class highly!

Professor Malia Rose-Seisa is an amazing teacher. Truly one of my favorite professors in the last 15 years of college classes. Keep up on the schedule and get the rhythm. She explains very clearly and truly is there for you. Take advantage of the extra credit and the late passes given. It is challenging, but that's Chem II for you.

I hate chem but I really enjoyed this class. Quiz every week in class, decent exams, and difficult subject in general but you can drop 2 of every assignment group. The concepts can be really difficult, but she is very willing to help you. Keep up with lectures and you will be fine!

Prof Malia has a great personality and makes chemistry fun. Assignments per week: 2 quizzes, simulated lab experiment, fill in lab report (2 hours). Class is pretty easy and you get a few assignments dropped and late assignment passes. She knows her stuff as well.

This Professor is really nice and humorous. However there is a lot of material to cover, and she tends to cram it towards the end. If you are not up for taking notes, a quiz, a lecture, 2 homework assignments, and 2 mini quizzes EVERY week don't take her class. Her exams are also graded a little harsh since she marks off for almost everything.

I highly recommend taking Prof Malia (entire chemistry series if possible) as her lecture was so clear, and you will definitely learn, and you won't forget what you learned. Her lecture makes it easier to understand chemistry. She was the best professor I had so far.

I had her for ochem which is a hard subject regardless of what teacher you have. Attend every lecture, study, do a ton of practice problems and go to office hours to do well in the class. She has late passes and drops 2 of each assignment and 1 exam so you cant say she doesn't outline grading criteria well. She is rly nice and willing to help!

Love this professor! This class is hard work but if you stay on top of the work and study you should be fine. Exams are gnarly but if you go through the study guide before every exam your good. Quizzes every Wednesday, definitely try to do good on these since the points start adding up at the end. 10/10 recommend

Amazing professor! O chem is a difficult class no matter who is teaching it, and she does her best to make it easy for us! Super understanding professor and great lectures. Available for office hours most days of the week and super easy to come and talk to. Drops your worst exam grade. Seriously a fantastic professor and I absolutely recommend her.

Awesome professor!! Getting an A is doable, go to all her lectures (she has skeleton notes), study and practice the problems from the notes over and over again. DO ALL the extra credit. Professor Rose teaches in a straightforward manner where you will copy notes and if you have questions then ask in class or in office hours. OChem itself is a difficult topic and her teaching in a way simplified it but at times made it a bit more difficult.

Malia is the best professor I've ever had—especially for O-chem. Simplifies the material to help you understand. She is reasonable, funny, and friendly. She made me love O-chem! Truthfully, you get what you put in. Gives extra credit, provides late passes, and drops your lowest grade in each category. Don't hesitate to take her!
