Professor Malik attend to school on time the good insightful information, let have a opportunity to have labs and understanding to the assignments. i like this teacher i would take another class with him.
He changed my outlook on life and helped me understand that working as a team helps me become a better individual
Great teacher, Very respectful and cares a lot about the students. The way he teaches the class is very unconventional and it makes it a joy to come in everyday!
Great man very kind and funny and he is very motivational
You will learn a lot about the computer. However, he transforms this class into not only about computer technology but also about real life. Always be on time because you would not want to miss anything he says. This class is very informational and fun.
He has interesting experiences that he shares and has great informational videos.
Mr. Stalbert is an inspirational teacher and teaches the course based off of his own personal experience. With him doing this, it allows me to connect to my personal experience.
Professor Malik is very knowledgeable about the subjects that he teaches and is very responsive to people with questions. He is very easy to get a hold of outside of class and offers many opportunities to get extra help if you need it. That being said, his assignments are far too ambiguous and it makes them way more difficult than they need to be.
i learn more things that i thought
Don't over think assignments. Follow his guidelines (gives specifics) and you will do great! Definitely a fun class to take. He makes learning so much fun and even more because he genuinely cares about what he is teaching and cares about the students.
very fair gives you a chance to get extra credit to make up for loss of points in a past assignment
good at explaining things
good at explaining things and making things stick
Mr. Malik does an amazing job as a teacher.
THANKS TO PROFESSOR MALIK I DISCOVER I CAN BE AND DO MORE IN SCHOOL THEN JUST HOMEWORK.
He values, our best interest in what weave done in class and our home work.
Good professor, gives ideas and teaches topics that are not only important to academics and but also life matters like how to protect your potential business. He is passionate and also will go out of his way to help you so long as you do a honest effort. Topics covered in class can sometimes be different from what you expect class to be about.
Excellent teacher, good teaching style.
A REAL gem, will recommend for others to take one of his courses.
I will recommend anyone who would t be informed of computers and beyond. A real GEM of a professor. 5 thumbs up
It is very hard to fail this class. The beginning might be hard at first if you miss a day but plenty of time during to catch up if you fall behind. This class does do group projects and activities. Very fun
Class work is insightful
Dope teacher.
He is great teacher and more fun in the class funny teacher he also open lab on Friday. take his class no quiz or test work in group and having fun making game and other project great teacher
Great teacher, easy, clear assignments, very passionate about his students. It would be great if more teachers were like Mr. Stalbert.
First class, first year of college. It gave me a more positive idea of school and eased the stress of the first year. Many opportunities to get extra credit. Always willing to help students when they are unsure of the classwork or homework. Ask many questions!
A very good Professor, will recommend anyone who wants to take him.
His class is usually easy since he walk you through on how to do the assignments and have tutorials video for help. Give out extra credit and don't have to buy textbook for this class since most of the stuff are in Canvas.
my professor is awesome in so many ways he makes us think outside the box and allows us to use our minds
INSTRUCTOR IS FERM ON HIS TEACHING AND IS VERY ANIMATED
You have to keep on top of every assignments, if not you will fall behind. When picking your group projects make sure to pick people that contribute and do their part. After every major pipeline project he incorporates games to over view what you over.
has good information
Informative
It's difficult to grasp the subject he is teaching, because the method he uses is difficult to understand. The method is vague as is his instruction when not sidetracked by movie talk. I'd prefer clear instruction on how to perform a task and the opportunity to do the task with clear feedback on what I missed or need to work on.
GREAT Professor. I like the class learn and so far i have learn a lot of new things. Definitely recommend him. He knows what he is lecturing.
Great lectures straight to the point, high energy and approachable. creates fun ways to integrate the concepts. provides access to his professional YouTube channel which go in depth with the concepts. Offers lab hours. Extremely resourceful and knowledgeable. Always looking out for the students best interest, and he is easy on the eyes.
Great professor. Would absolutely take him again.
Very inspirational professor. Made me realize that school should not be wasted on just getting a degree. It should be a stepping stone in life that helps you achieve your over all goal.
Very inspirational. Made me notice that school should not be just for a degree. It should be a stepping stone to achieve a greater goal in life.
Very inspirational and easy to understand. He makes the lectures very simple and not to complicated.
I have never taken Computer Science before but it is a super interesting class and makes you work for your grade and Im learning new things everyday i would highly recommend students to take this class because once you finish the first coding you feel the greatest satisfaction.
Great teacher. Shows you how to do stuff while talking about it. Pushes your imagination. A lot of what he teaches goes back to the real world and not just some assignment in class. Some stuff could get tricky but he always helps you understand.
He's a very clear professor and will tell you to do things specifically, however he does it with very good intentions and clear understandings. He truly is a professor that wants to see his students grow and develop so they can do something with their lives.
One of the best teacher so far I had taken in sbvc that actually understands you and will always be there when you need help. Hilarious and amazing lectures, even though others wouldn't agree base upon computer science and other creative subjects.
Class is very flexible, which means you can work on assignments in class and home
A great professor , recommend if new to coding .
Professor Stalbert, is very passionate and understanding. He will take the time to sit down with students and go over whatever concepts they have trouble with. He also encourages students to help each other. In addition to giving opportunities for extra credit. I would gladly take Professor Stalbert.
Really cool dude, makes sure you keep working and laughing!
Gives more than a CS lecture, gives lectures about life philosophy as well. Speaks my language.
Makes the class fun and is very helpful by making tutorial videos that will guide you to what you need to complete. Definitely would recommend
Hes into animation u learn as u are creating games, stories etc u will have fun
He enjoys animation be ready to watch videos as u learn and create stories fun class
Professor Stalbert is without a doubt one of the better teachers I've had at Valley. I've taken a couple of CIT courses with him already and never fails to keep his lectures engaging. His assignments and expectations are clear, and he always gives excellent feedback to his students. Definitely recommended.
He is a great professor. Easily accessible outside of the classroom and makes everything clear for the homework assignments. He has a great amount of resources to help you in and out of the classroom.
a lot of work gives a lot examples no how to complete assignment skip class you are going to have a hard time keeping up
Great professor, has a wealth of knowledge about computer science, and always willing to work with students. I wish he was teaching C++
professor malik is a actually good teacher that not only teaches you about cs but also teamwork
instructor is firm on his teaching gives extra credit and is animated
Very informative professor with experience and personal work to back up his accolades. Teaches amazing philosophy for future work interviews and working ethics.
Professor Stalbert. Is a very caring person he genuinely cares about the student growth in learning the subject. If there is something that I really enjoy from his teaching methods is he breaks everything down to the core. If you don't understand something he will try and show you multiple ways just so you can understand.
He is Great professors but you need to study hard on this class.
if you skip your class then its your fault, he give works basic on the requirements,. he offer open labs to help you work well and give higher level of understanding. Very inspirational to real word issues
Great Professor!
He is a great teacher but one really need to be open mind and be able to work with other student to get the best result out of his class.
IS A GOOD TEACHER, ACCESSIBLE AND HELP ME.
He's really passionate about making sure his students are prepared for life outside of the classroom.
Professor Stalbert is very knowledgeable and passionate about the concepts he is teaches. He makes the learning environment interesting. Personally I find the many YouTube videos that he posts very helpful because he goes in depth with the lesson that he isnt teaching the class for each particular week.
He is very entertaining.
He has a strong grasp of modern technology and an intense sense of humor. Sometimes goes a bit too fast, and one or two projects could be broken down into more than one.
Great Professor, really cares about the students
Took his hybrid online class. He is a great professor.
By far one of my favorite professors I've had. Makes you think outside the box and just generally pushes you to WANT to be better than you were when you stepped in.
He is a good teacher and makes a great effort to make the class interesting. It is too fast paced at times but otherwise I would recommend it
Malik Stalbert is a great professor and allows for plenty of extra credit. He gives great feedback and is a team player.
Very brilliant guy knows how to make you think
Great professor. Has a fun way of teaching his students
I started as a Liberal Arts major, after taking one class I understood how much I could enjoy Computer Science. Now I'll be majoring in Computer Science.
Sometimes goes to fast
Just do the work, watch his videos and the A should be easy. He cares about his students and tries to tie in real life situations in excel instead of basic stuff you find in the book to make it more interesting.
Stalbert is a cool dude, he makes you think outside the box.
Pay attention and attend class and you are good.
Great teacher! Explains things thoroughly and helps whenever need. Motivator gets everybody excited about assignments and makes class fun.
He's an awesome professor. He knows his stuff and absolutely loves teaching computer science.
Professor Stalbert is a chill dude. Assignments are evolved around a creative aspect which makes learning some things in Microsoft Office fun. Easy A honestly while learning some neat tricks about Microsoft programs. I would recommend him to anyone wanting to learn about personal computers but we do get off topic sometimes but it's okay.
Challenges you to think outside the box.
Need to keep up with the YouTube videos if not it will be difficult to complete the homework.
Good professor. Has a good personality but will require you to work he only puts in as much effort as you do. So if you dont want a good grade don't expect one
He can change the way you view things.
Very informative
Professor Stalbert is an amazing professor. He makes all of his lectures available on his Youtube channel in case you need to go back and refer to something you may have missed in class. His lectures are a true inspiration. He is getting me excited about entering the workforce again.
Prof Stalbert is very knowledgeable and is willing to help when needed. However, the structure of the class is overwhelming and confusing for someone who isn't into gaming or has never had experience coding. His lectures rarely explain what we are actually learning, so good luck learning through youtube videos.
Mr. Stalbert is honestly such a cool and inspiring professor. take this class if you want to learn how to code in a fun and creative way; you will not regret it.
Really interesting class; opens up your mind to many possibilities.
A really great professor to have. Has an extensive knowledge inside and outside of his field.
he is very passionate about coding and the future of coding. just stay on top of the material and ask as many questions as you can.
Great Professor, Makes you work for it
Being in the class has been super fun and interesting. It's not often you get an actor, blackbelt millionaire as a teacher. For me CIT is interesting enough by itself but this was a great surprise and opportunity to talk to some who's really made it. I can see why some students have a harder time learning without a textbook but it worked for me!
Assignments are self explanatory.
hes very firm on his teaching and what he requires
Interesting class great feed back.
He is a great professor with a team member mentality when it comes to helping students succeed.
I learned more about writing a proper resume and cover letter. Also how to work databases and excel sheets. They will definitely help me in the future.
He is a very postive instructer who puts in effort to make you be able to pass.
Great teacher, pretty laid back and chill. Likes to relate lessons to his life. Good class, recommend.
Make sure you pay attention and communicate with others.
'Never Judge A Book By Its Cover' I thought this teacher was just an OK teacher at first, but now from being in his class for half a semester, he teaches me things, that I can take out of class. He wants us to be the best version of ourselves and more. He makes my ideas expand and to get out of my comfort zone. Truthfully thankful for him.
Really great at what he does, very assertive in what he expects from his students and offers a lot of help through videos which is amazing for visual learners.
He always puts the students first, emphasizes building a team is key and even more so building the right team would be beneficial throughout life. Different goals require different teams. So be sure to ask your team before you ask him any questions, only then he will repeat himself.
He teaches outside the box so prepare to work in ways you might not have anticipated to
all is good ,I learning more with the teacher. I with my friend help me
Great professor. Will take again.
Difficult to learn the concepts when there is so little time spent on them, and then they are rushed through. Would like the ability to ask questions to the teacher and have him ensure all understand the concept before moving forward.
The class is not hard just make sure you attend so you wont miss out on any of the games
Awesome teacher!
We don't have lots of homework, but his explanations are not clear. Therefore, the homework is difficult for me.
Great class, you will definitely learn skills that are applicable in the real world. Participation def. matters.
its a good class it is a little confusing for me
its a bit difficult hes a good professor i don't like the gaming part and working in groups
Need to go to all the class meeting since if not you will all be behind. If you fall be behind it help to go to all the lab. If you work as a team in the class room you can earn units. More units for the better.
Participation matters in his class.
Great teacher, you will learn a lot!
He will teach you things that are practical for your success in the future.
He is a good proffesor, he gives a lot of homework but he offers huge amount of help. Do your homework and you will be able to pass the course.
Really good prof, he gives a lot of homework and a lot assignments to do but if you attend lecture you will be able to do good.
Group communication is key.
good teacher all around
If you show up and do the work Easy A, Also if you like pop culture he's the professor you want to take!
He has a different teaching style than anyone i have ever had, however, he teaches you as if you are going to use everything in the real world. He has so much experience in life, listening to him and what he really says is what I recommend. you won't regret it.
Every project has smaller projects inside of it.
Great teacher, is realatable.
doesn't give lots detail context and can leaving answers unquesting
This is my 3rd time taking this professor and I have to say out of all of them in the Computer Science building he has helped me learn the most. He prepares you for life outside the classroom and make sure you do all your homework and attend all the classes otherwise you're not gonna pass.
Its difficicult to learn in this class due to how obvious it is that though its eqsy for him its not for others and being able to explain it in a way that everyone can understand is not something he wants to take the time to do.
Great Professor Stalbert!
Will have you do plenty of work on your own.
this class is not for the faint of heart if you are new to coding and games.
Amazing Professor and gives a different take on how to teach coding
Serious about his class but can make it fun.
THIS WAS A VERY GOOD LEARNING EXPERIENCE.
Good feedback and very helpful
Professor Malik is an amazing teacher. We need more teachers like him who are willing to challenge people to think outside the box and use the things theyve learned in real life situations. I enjoyed the class and learned about how to deal with problems by his approaches. I can see myself using these things I've learned in the courses yet to come
I am a beginner and thought we'd get a little bit of explanation of some coding, but we didn't get to learn anything in depth.
Good professor
Professor Stalbert is an example of what professors should strive to be . He helps motivate students, make students believe in themselves, but most of all cares about the quality of education that is given to students. The Incorporation of teamwork, critical thinking, imagination, and most of all, the use of creativity of students is great.
He's a hard-headed person that doesn't listen to people who has their own opinions. For instance, C++ OOP (Object Oriented Programming) is something that triggers him to have a full on conversation that he will try to prove you wrong. Also, he thinks his ways are always correct. You don't really learn about programming....
I never write comments, but I had to stand up for professor Stalbert. I was in CS110 and the student that gave him an awful rating is lying. The class was all HTML, C#, and Unity. It was challanging, but fun. Professor Stalbert does project based assignments and I wish I could take him during summer. I will be taking him next semester if possible.
Do not take this class if you are lazy. He makes you think and prepares you for real life and not just a grade.
This was the best course I have ever taken and would encourage anyone that wants to grow internally and in programming to take this professor. I am a mother of 2 and professor Stalbert's methods helped me get the confidence to start my own business. He knows how to listen and he also has answers. Amazing professor.
The class was way to easy I felt like I didnt really learn much of any programming other than html. Also the class project was a good and bad experience because the whole class had almost no communication they didnt really do their part I think it was two guys who did all the work at the end but I did learn to be a team player.
If you don't want to work, don't take this class. You have to use your head in this class. No following instructions from a book that teaches you nothing. He makes you grow and if you are lazy it will be too hard for you. If you are taking this class just for a grade and not to grow, don't.
Not your usual professor, He teaches programming amazingly if you don't question the way he teaches. He gives a lot of metaphorical examples and really leans towards letting students use their creativity. Everyone in the class feels like part of a team instead of students just learning from a professor.
Freat lectures and gives good info on how to do things
Great Professor. He's big on team participation, group projects, and collaboration. He has a great way of relating the material to the real world. Very patient.
This class was great i learn a lot about Excel, world , PowerPoint, Access and more . The teaching style of Mr. Malik is very unique and he really shows that he cares a lot about his students.
the class issa great opportunity to learn so many things about computer science.. on utube. most of our class was repeating what we saw on utube for the second half. first half started great. they got this whole game rpg kind stuff going on that honestly complicated a lot. get what they was going for but is a college class
Second time taking Professor Stalberts class, each time there's more to learn. Most if not all the assignments are recorded through videos via YouTube. The lessons on there are clear but you must pay attention or there will be errors and if there are questions they can be asked during his class, open lab or on discord. Many resources can be found
Fantastic teacher. Very into his own life philosophy which I don't 100% agree with, but he has an interesting and intelligent perspective that he brings to the class. The class focuses on dipping your toes into many different ways to use a computer, enough that you know how to learn more solo if you're interested. An experience unlike most classes.
Professor Stalbert has an unorthodox way of teaching. However, it is revolutionary. It was easy to understand the concepts based on his integration of context. I would highly recommend this teacher. As long as you are not lazy and actually do the work and learn, he is one of the best professors I have ever had the pleasure of meeting.
FYI: CS-120 no longer transfers to CSUSB as an IST course but instead as CSE credit, so make of that what you will. As for the class, very inspiring and unorthodox teaching methods gives it a sense of nice surrealism. However, do not expect to learn much of the stated material; instead students must rely on each other and self learning/discipline.
Hes a very understanding professor whose goal is that we as students help each other succeed. He used a Discord channel in order to communicate with us but was also accessible via Email and Zoom. The online course was very interesting and easy considering Im not great with technology. Tons of YouTube videos to help with completing assignments.
You use discord more than canvas. He makes learning fun and posts clear tutorials to follow along to. Its really great to work with code in an applied manner. He makes understanding C# simple for someone who has never coded before. Will take his other classes. Hes a real gem. Funny & down to earth guy. Just be sure to utilize the discord
Professor Stalbert has a unique type of way of teaching. No matter which class you are in of his, it's exciting. Anytime I would run across a person taking the kind of classes that Professor Stalbert teaches, I refer him as an instructor to take.
Professor Stalbert takes the time to explain the assignments, and if there are any questions, he is there to answer them. Group interaction is a must in Professor Stallbert's classes, even if the group is you and your tools. No matter which class you are in of his, it's exciting.
Professor Stalbert, is well respected because of the respect that he give to his students. Group interaction, and communication is a must. It is important that the student seek information from one-another, gaining unity within the groups. There's no clicks in Professor's classes. Only friendship. It's a pleasure taking Professor Stallbert courses.
He has an interesting way of teaching, I took his online course this semester and it was definitely interesting. We have an assignment to do every week, it is a class you can do with a busy schedule, and he eliminates quizzes as long as members in the class help each other out with questions on discord. I recommend his class, take it if you can!
I struggled at first getting used to his style (he encourages collaboration, creativity, discord) and considered dropping the class. Instead, I dove deep, did the work, got them in on time, did extra credit work, and like me, you can take your worst graded class and turn it into your best. I signed up for more of his classes.
Enjoyed taking online classes with professor Malik I am currently taking two other online CS classes.
Great Professor, makes things very clear, weekly homework but reasonable.
I took another of his courses and i felt that the course was heading in the same direction as cs110 of video tutorial, copy paste, etc. I wanted to take a guided course but with the lax approach, I wouldn't learn as much with these methods. So i dropped the course and am substituting it with C# documentation by Microsoft and tutorials on YouTube.
Easy A. Assistance mostly through discord. Literally like one assignment a week. The professor is extremely cool. Wish I could take him again!!!!!!!!!
Exceptional Professor ! A true gem at valley.
He is a really good professor. You can definitely notice how passionate he is about what he does and what he teaches. His assignments are thorough and easy to understand but whenever I had any questions he's done a good job at getting back to me.
What other students should about this Professor. Well for one He is passionate about what he does and teaches as well. 2 He Encourages students to have ideas and go with them. l. If you are not lazy I highly recommend taking this course. It will be fun for you I can promise you that It will be worth it. He does go into detail about the assignments.
I struggled at first with the structure of the class and the use of Discord, but you get used to it. This class has very clear instructions on what is expected of you for assignments, which makes it a pretty easy class. There is homework every week but it's not overwhelming.
Imagine if Cristiano Ronaldo was a professor this would be it. Professor Stalbert in my eyes is the GOAT. His teachings are not only fun but certainly understandable. I've noticed that I have been able to retain the info from his class with ease. I am confident in my foundation of CS and will certainly pursue it thanks to Professor Malik.
Professor Stalbert is a very caring teacher and is hilarious whenever giving lectures. Although we only have lectures for one day, and do our work for a whole week, his lectures are highly informative and extremely specific so there will be no issues with any of the assignments being given. I highly recommend other students taking this course.
The class can be what you make of it. The professor gives you everything you need to complete every assignment, it just depends if you read and follow the instructions properly. If you do everything right then you will pass and understand the material better.
Professor Stalbert is clearly very familiar with computers and is an expert at course structure. There is a clear plan for the course and straightforward assignments with clear goals in mind. He is exactly what any student in STEM should look for.
What you should know about Professor stalbert is that he is passionate what he teaches also encouraged kids with theirs ideas. I highly recommend him he's the best professor if you are going to computer science. The lectures are very good and goes into details about the assignments. If you are not lazy this course will be amazing I promise you that
Professor Stalbert makes the class fun. The lectures are easy to follow. He gives constructive feedback that helps further your comprehension of the subject. If you finish the assignments, you'll have no problem passing the class.
My professor is very good at his job. He's super clear in all his assignment requirements. What I love about taking this class is how supportive everyone can be in there because Mr.Malik gets us to work together and get to know one another. He always provides us with good examples needed in order to understand the material he is teaching.
Professor Stalbert is probably the most inspirational and amazing professors I have ever had! He is greatly respected in the classroom, as he cares and respects his students as well. His lectures are very informative, passionate, and inspirational. I guarantee you have absolutely no regrets taking this professor! Genuinely a hidden gem at SBVC!
This is easily one of my all time favorite lectures! The professor has shown positive enthusiasm towards his students since the start of the fall semester. His lectures are very formative and easy to follow, but if you're struggling with a specific assignment you don't understand, he no doubt will go out of his way to help guide you through it.
CS100 - I have taken all of Professor Stalbert's CS classes. I am nearing the end of my CS journey at SBVC and looking back, I would have preferred to have had him in some other ones as well. He gives you every opportunity to do well in his classes. He gives clear expectations. Just do the work, adhere to requirements, and you'll get a good grade.
Professor Stalbert teaches one of the few Advanced Visual Basic Courses taught in Southern California. He is a very providing, thoughtful or knowledgeable professor. The subject matter is presented as easy to learn, and there is plenty of material to follow along, while simultaneously being open to expanding on the material. I would take again!
Prof. Malik Stalbert's C# class was exceptional. Clear expectations, unique teaching, and diverse projects from web to gaming apps. Prepared me for advanced programming and the industry. Highly recommended!
I have attended several computer science classes with Professor Stalbert and I found his teaching methods to be unique and accommodating for beginners. His enthusiasm for teaching is apparent and made the classes enjoyable. Tip: Engage in the class discussion groups and seek assistance when needed, as assignments can get technical at times.
He's great. I've learned so much from him in the past couple of months in his class but not just in the basics of computer sciences but also how to change our mindset and how important communications skills are in the field of programming. He's very easy to talk too and i would recommend him to anyone whos want to start in the field of programming
Professor Stalbert has an interesting way of teaching his class. It is engaging and brings out your creativity which also helped me retain the material. The assignments are pretty straightforward with tutorial vids to help you complete it. I would highly recommend anyone to take his class.
Professor Malik is really cool & insightful. He makes sure to help guide us through his lectures & make the components of the assignments we do relate to something we could understand in a way that we could grasp the material with relative ease. I would definitely recommend him to anyone if they're looking for a fun & interactive class.
Prof Stalbert is professional and always willing to help. Class is Can be easy if you put effort and understand the concept. No late work !
Professor Malik is a great teacher because he helps you learn real world things like how to use your classroom work in life situations like communications. He teaches in a way that makes you think. Andrew Le his assistant that how helps me a lots with the assignments. he is very knowable and is very good at explaining things that i dont understand.
Professor Malik Stalbert's computer science class 110 teaches you the basics fundamentals of coding. Professor Stalbert has amazing lectures and gives out really good advice that can really help you out in the world of coding.
CS100! First, if you feel nervous or scared coming into this class, don't be. The professor makes the subject very easy and does a good job of making everybody feel comfortable in the class. I have taken some of his other classes in the past and If I could I would take every single one of them. Follow his requirements and you'll pass the class.
Professor Stalbert makes the class fun and makes sure when he does in lectures in the class that we make sure we understand. If we have questions he gives us a good feedback. He also puts us in groups to get to know each other and work as a group so that we all understand.
Professor Stalbert is an amazing lecturer. He knows how to explain topics in a clear way which make sit easier to understand what it is that we are learning. He also gives good analogies which is very helpful when understanding code, at least for me it is. The way the class is constructed is very neat which helps with keeping organized.
If your goal is to acquire knowledge and challenge yourself, I would recommend exploring a different instructor. This class features a minimal number of assignments that require little effort. If you want easy credit take this class its easy and is flexible with your schedule.
Professor Stalbert excels as a lecturer, demonstrating a remarkable ability to explain complex topics in a manner that greatly enhances comprehension. His skill in offering insightful analogies is particularly beneficial, aiding my understanding of coding concepts.
I enjoyed taking this course. Malik offers many opportunities for students to receive extra credit and many ways to complete assignments. If you fail in this course, it's because you are not trying. Overall, it was a fun course, and everything was laid out for you to follow. If you need help, you can always reach out on Discord for help.
Malik has a wealth of knowledge and experience. He creates an environment for creativity and collaboration with other students to simulate working with a group as a professional programmer. We're not penalized for missing class, but the lessons learned from his lectures, stories, and group activities made a huge impact on the way I view the world.
I've taken 3 of Professor Stalbert's courses and have had a good experience in every course. His class format does take a bit of getting used to, but once you get the hang of it everything is a breeze. Assignments are super easy and he walks you through them. The finals for the classes seem hard but are easy with groups. Overall, a great teacher!
I'd say he's the MJ of teaching. But in all seriousness, he's a great teacher, very funny, and very open to opening your creative mind. The things I appreciate the most are the lectures and some of them will stay with me for a very long time. He's a great teacher, and you will enjoy his class if you have a open mind and are good at collaborating.
His teaching style is a perfect blend of humor and intellect, making each lecture a memorable experience. He encourages creativity and collaboration, and his insights will stick with you after the semester ends. Andrew Le also deserves a huge shoutout for his helpfulness during open labs and class sessions. Overall a great learning environment.
Dr. Stalbert has excellent youtube videos that explain how to do assignments step by step. I grew up in the 80s and was pretty good at BASIC but I wanted to learn modern coding. These courses are good introductions. I also like how he encourages everyone to use Discord and learn from veterans, and they are quick to respond to questions.
BEST professor out their! This is by far my favorite class. It is out of the box teaching. Using your imagination is a must! We had the overlord Andrew Le who was there to help us out in class, he was extremely helpful! He is also in charge of open lab and available to help after hours. HIGHLY recommend to take this class do not even think twice.
Despite being an online class with initial concerns about limited in-person interaction, Professor Stalbert's Discord setup allowed easy access for help. The open labs led by Andrew Le were extremely helpful and provided a 2nd (semi-casual) teaching environment. Overall, a fantastic introduction to programming with accessible, reliable assistance.
Professor Stalbert has clear and concise lectures with lots of supporting material in the P2P discord. I feel encouraged to continue my journey through programming because of this course.
Before I took Introduction to Visual Basics, Visual Basics was too new to me and I often times get confused. He was able to take the time to help me during tutoring so I can understand what the icons mean when it comes to programming. Overall, I feel he was helpful and a good teacher.
This class was incredibly informative. The video tutorials provided were very helpful and easy to follow.
Professor Stalbert's lectures are very informative. I enjoyed taking this class because it was encouraging. I appreciated the step-by-step method that the videos provided take.
Regarding my experience with this professor, we're getting taught pretty well. We've been learning Visual Basic in a way that's easily digestible and understandable and being able to work in teams has helped things not to be as tough. Not to mention the creative things we do in the class with applying creative storytelling to assignments too.
The professor's style takes getting used to, but it's set up to encourage creativity, collaboration, and autonomy. He posts video tutorials, then lets you to decide how to approach assignments (alone or in a group). As long as you follow the assignment guidelines, which are clearly defined, you'll have fun and do well.
Professor Stalbert's approach to teaching his students in a more hands on way while embracing creativity is what really makes this course shine in my opinion. I've had a ton of fun while taking this course, there's tons of group work so if you like collaborating with others this is a must. He's a great teacher who has made this a great experience.

This class is really awesome, the professor is awesome and the video tutorials for the assignments are very helpful.
I truly enjoy how much exposure the professor gives us to each avenue of Visual Basics. He provides fun example projects combined with real-world job-based structures. Very enjoyable and informative!
Professor Stalbert is a unique professor who instructs his class in an unorthodox way. It is an easy class but that is not the point that he is trying to teach. So why not take him again? I am a network engineer and have no desire to be a programmer but had to take the class. If you are going into computer science then I recommend this professor.
Malik Stalbert is an outstanding coding mentor. Their teaching style is both informative and engaging, making learning a breeze.
Professor Stalbert is one of the best teachers I have ever had. Both his classes and lectures are among the easiest to follow. He heavy on teamwork and encourages asking questions. When you do ask a question, everyone is willing to help, especially Andrew Lee. The professor also has some cool life stories that sound almost too unreal to believe.
Overview of HTML, HTML5, JavaScript, C#, Visual Studio Code, Microsoft Visual Studio, and Unity. Work isn't hard, just follow video in resources. In-class assignments best done as group. Course is broken into pipelines. First assignment in each pipeline is built upon with following assignments. Much emphasis on Avatar Story and team/tool ideology.
Professor Malik Stalbert is a great professor, his teaching style always kept me engaged and wanting to hear more. He encourages team work among the class, he encourages questions and he gives you the same energy you give him. Also Andrew Le is a great person to have in the class, he will help out when needed and give a quality bro hug.
Professor Malik is an amazing teacher! He has an extensive background in computer science as a programmer - this allows him to have an extensive reservoir of knowledge on the subject. The best part is that he doesn't gatekeep this knowledge. He pushes you to do your own studies while he guides you through the ropes on programming.
Professor Stalbert's unique learning environment encourages learning from your classmates just as much if not more than him. If you are more of an independent learner when it comes to online courses, this class is not for you. But if you are required to take this course, you will just have to adapt and push yourself. It will get easier over time.
Professor Stalbert, way of teaching is unique , and to the point. Creativity and freedom is a big thing in his classes. I would 100% recommend taking any of his classes.
Professor Malik Stalbert is the best professor I have had here at SBVC. He makes his lectures fun and focuses on what the students need. He breaks his assignments based on languages which allows people who are new to computer science to thrive.
By far the best computer course I've ever taken. Plenty of resources available to you from Professor Malik Stalbert to help you acquire the knowledge required to pass this course. You can join groups for projects and ask questions in the discord group. There are video tutorials that walk you through each task step-by-step. Overall 11/10.
I would take this class again. Professor Stalbert way of teaching is straight-to-the-point. His video tutorials are helpful. One word I would use to describe his class would be creativity. He provides you with the resources to complete your assignments, and he also gives you the freedom to complete the assignment whichever way you like to.
An awesome component in this class is students get to join a Discord server with current and past students. Fellow students help out and answers questions if the Professor is not immediately available. Lastly, I enjoyed this class because the layout of the course is not traditional, but it is not hard that a student taking this class cannot adapt.
This is a good introduction class to computer science. Professor Stalbert has a way of teaching that is based on how you will apply the skills you learn in real world scenarios. We cover multiple different programs and coding languages. Most of what we do is work as a team to troubleshoot whatever is not working with the current program.
Over all this class is very easy but you will be working in groups for the most part. Unless you hate talking to people the hardest thing about this class is understanding what the professor wants because he will not repeat himself so make sure to listen. Professor himself is very kind.
Great professor when things get hard just slow down and think
My time during this class was great Professor Stalbert teachings would apply real world examples for the work and attendance is mandatory as he gives out in class assignments which can be done with a group of people and his TA Andrew is very helpful and would give pointers to assignments.
Professor Malik sure knows how to make a class fun and informative. I have learned so much from him through every project we have completed. He makes computer science easier to understand with the way he creates the projects. I love that he makes youTube videos that I can rewatch as many times as I need to understand the concept.

The class was an enjoyable experience and the teacher was very cool. The lectures are informative and the advice that was given to us helped us be more creative with our assignments. I would recommend this professor because I am confident that you will have good time with this class.
From my time taking this course was good the professor was great. His lectures were fun and covered the material very well. There is a good amount of group projects in this class. And most assignments were pretty straightforward as long as you followed provided videos and directions.
The professor would go into so many details on how something works and provide many examples that made me understand everything. His lectures kept me awake and very interested in everything he said. His TA Andrew also helps out a lot with anything you need.
Class is pretty straight forward you just have to make sure to do all of the requirements for the assigments. The professor also makes everything clear to understand when it comes to class lessons/lectures.
Great professor, His class assignments are fun. Goes into detail about each assignment and is straight forward.
I had little to no experience in the subject. The videos provided and walk throughs of the assignments were very helpful. I learned lots of good tools from the professor and it has opened my eyes to the subject and how to complete the work. Very informative and shows different options of how to complete the work.
He made understanding the different types of languages easy. So not all are the same and not one is better than the rest, they're tools waiting to be used in a team effort. If you see a laid back looking fellow hanging about named Andrew ask him for help but be sure to know what it is you are asking, he's a great aid to a great professor. 10/10
Professor Stalbert is great! His lectures are straight forward and his videos help you fully understand what's going on. Make sure to attend class as you can't make up those assignments. His lectures are really good and give you a profound understanding.
part2: Also, he is very knowledgeable and knows a lot of resources that can help students. As well, he has lots of YouTube videos that help when completing assignments. I will definitely keep attending his classes in the future even though I graduated a year ago, but I am always looking for new knowledge, and skills.
If you're interested in learning about code languages professor malik stalbert has the best intro class for making it easy to understand. He offers resources for making sure nobody will fail. Certainly! CS120 encompasses a variety of tasks, including coding and game creation. However, achieving success in this course requires careful attention to rules, watching tutorial videos, and active participation in group work to complete assignments. Best of luck!
Professor Malik is very hands off when it comes to learning. It seems like he prefers us to explore the wonders of coding and computer science on our own through tutorials that he uploads for us on youtube. Collaboration and group projects are crucial to learning and completing assignments. If you are good with self study he's the CS prof for you.
Professor/Dr. Malik Stalbert is an amazing professor, he is one that really makes you think outside the box. He gives you the opportunity to think clearly of what you need to do and what is needed to be successful. I highly recommend him but be warned you must keep an open mind and think outside the box to be successful. Read all instructions.
Professor Stalbert is very knowledgeable about his field and a very good instructor. The computer lab that's provided isn't mandatory, but is very beneficial for acheiving success if someone is struggling with the concepts. Andrew Le is an excellent tutor and does a wonderful job running the computer lab. I suggest using the lab.
Professor Stalbert is a very passionate professor about computer science. His teaching style is very distinct and you must be very proficient in learning to grasp the concepts. This is because there are no questions you can ask the professor because you must ask your peers, so making acquaintances is a must for this class. Tough Grader.
Profesor expect you to use your team in order to answer questions first before asking him. He is opened to talk about any conversation if a very fun interactive class
Mr Stalbert GREATLY emphasizes teams and groupwork to get assignments done. If you have question you'll have to ask around the class before approaching him or his assistant Andrew Le. Andrew is helpful with some of your problems and even hosts open labs frequently. Often though you might get lost in the class and feel like you're not learning much.
Stalbert has a very unique teaching style. He's strict w/assign. You will get a zero if you forget one requirement. He does give you a chance to fix your grades by earning units. However, he makes learning fun. Andrew Le goes out of his way to make sure we get the information we need to complete our work and really breaks things down for us.
Well Mr. Malik Stalbert is amazing professor. if you have question or something confused, he will help you out. discord is another option for help. If you passionate about being a game designer this is the class for you. Andrew le as the assistant helps out as well and he is the best helper he help me out many times and appreciated of that.
The class is formatted to make the students think on "how to" complete their assignment rather than just being told to complete it. Once you get the rhythm of it, the assignments become easier to do. Overall, the class is fun and exciting. The Professor is more than willing to help you succeed and the class HIGHLY promotes collaboration.
I really enjoyed a lot of the projects for the course as they allowed me to be creative while also gaining a firm understanding of the programs being used. I like the story based format and focus on the big picture while also being attentive of crucial details.

This teacher make lessons engaging and easy to understand. The projects are creative and challenging. I really liked how they made learning c# easy and like a game.
Class is a learning curve but for the better. The professor teaches you to think for yourself and to have passion in the class. The class is fun and interesting, as long as you put in the effort. Group participation is a must and learn to create "contracts" as you can do the assignments any way you want as long as you meet the requirements.
Professor Malik Stalbert, is very good teaching. Not to mention his assistant, Andrew Le, it's incredible how much he knows and helps. I am very happy to have them both on this class.
Professor Stalbert made the course very understandable. His analogies helped me understand the world of programming. He encourages collaboration and creativity. His method of teaching is unique and I've enjoyed the course so far.
Very professional and understandable material. It was easier to get thru the class with how it was formatted from start to finish. Attendance isn't graded but it helps when you're a beginner. The assignments are also easier when in person with the support of the professor and classmates. I will be taking this professor again!!
Professor Stalbert takes a complex subject and make it fun to learn. I'm new to coding, but his structure, guidance, and inspiration helped me succeed. He connects class to real life , keeps you focused and structured. I'd take any class he teaches. He truly cares about the students process of being able to digesting the material and apply it.

Professor Stalbert's Fundamentals of Computer Science class was a GREAT experience. The P2P and ADD methods kept everything interactive, making the entire process easier to understand tough topics esp through collaboration and engagement. He's super supportive and gives real-world examples that made everything click. Definitely recommend this class
I'm currently taking CS-120 and CS-100, Every time I take his class, I learn something new and when I'm not taking his courses, I try my best to help his new students understand the process. Key points: Story, Structure, ADD, Team and Tools and lastly documentation. I recommend his courses for those who wants to break the student mindset.
If you want a Professor that truly teaches you the foundation of Computer Science and helps you understand the material, take Professor Stalbert. Be prepared to work as a team and collaborate to create some interesting projects, such as his P2P pathways. His T/A Andrew Le is also pretty cool and is always willing to help you whenever you need it.
Professor Stalbert is always approachable and willing to assist with additional resource, guidance, and mentorship. Working as a team is always #1 which allows to engage with different people in class. His lectures are pretty epic and very understandable. His T/A Andrew Le is very attentive and really helpful in class.
Stalbert is a very interesting guy and I like the fact that he tries to do things differently. However some of his methods I'd say don't aren't very helpful at least for me.Not much of the class is spent doing actual coding and I am someone who learns by actually doing something and doing it over and over. The analogies and metaphors don't help much
Currently taking his intro to C#. His method of teaching is unique. Very discord heavy and group oriented work. Lectures are sometimes long but never boring
Group/Team assignments heavy but always the option to work alone. Real world experience when it comes to his lectures. His teaching method differs then what I've seen before unique but very engaging
I like this class for 3 reasons. 1.) Deviation from the "normal" way of thinking about classes. Prof. Stalbert shatters this ideology with the way he teaches. 2.) Critical thinking not just ABOUT the core fundamentals but WHY they are necessary. 3.) Direct and concise REAL WORLD application from the things we are learning in the class.
He is a fantastic professor, and a lot of group work is involved so it's easier to get to know the class members. He teaches using analogies so it is easier to understand. The class attendance matters so that you can really learn the material and bounce ideas off of other classmates. I would definitely take this class again.
Malik has been very helpful when teaching us HTML, Java Script, and C# (C sharp). He tries to make real life examples out of what he is teaching us so we can understand it. He is overall a great teacher and there is so much more he wants to do and I believe it would help a lot.
Pretty good Professor, and clear easy directions in videos that help with programming. Great team I'm working with, and great analogies and advice about programming.
I'm new to computer science, and he did not hold back on making sure everyone understood the lecture and prompt given for the labs. He made immersive assignments and group activities in class to get a better understanding of computer science. Very hard to fail this class!
I'm new to computer science, and with a professor who does not hesitate to make sure the whole class understands the lecture and prompts for the labs following up, helped tremendously. I recommend studying throughout the weeks because there are no pop quizzes. Very hard to fail this class!
This class was very resourceful for my career into Computer Science and has helped me understand the basics. I have also taken the CS 120, CS 220, and other courses. Participation absolutely matters and there is a good amount of group work. The class does not use textbooks but in the study tabs it does offer more information to know more. 10/10
I would heavily recommend taking his hybrid CS-077 course, as his lectures are by far the most intriguing and engaging at SBVC. He heavily emphasizes on the importance of teamwork, communication and using methods of analogies to reference coding in a way that makes it clear to understand.
I highly recommend enrolling in his hybrid CS-077 course—his lectures are some of the most engaging and thought-provoking at SBVC. He places strong emphasis on teamwork, communication, and the use of analogies to make complex coding concepts easier to grasp and more relatable.
This has been the best computer course I've taken. Professor Stalbert provides so many helpful resources that make learning the material feel manageable and even enjoyable. I really appreciated the project groups and connect with classmates through Discord—asking questions and sharing ideas there made a huge difference.
I am currently taking the CS-077-01 course, and I believe that Professor Stalbert gives great lectures, and makes learning about C# enjoyable. I also believe that Professor Stalbert is doing an excellent job of conveying the material clearly and making the material easy to follow.
He seeks to empower us to analyze and solve problems independently. This is because problems are harder to analyze and solve in the real world. He conveys the material in a way that's easy to understand, he also clarifies what he's saying if someone needs help understanding. It is very easy to access the resources that are needed to do the work.
Professor gets very into detail about things he is teaching and if you dont understand he will help you he is also very engaging with the class one of the few classes that ive had fun learning in.
Very good professor. The class material is very clear and easy to understand. Even the most difficult of subjects become manageable thanks to the teaching style of Professor Stalbert. This class is very focused on working together as a team, so if you're the type to enjoy working with a team, this class is for you.
This class helped me gauge my capabilities. Its good prep you for the real world cuz it relies on self teaching. He shares helpful resources like W3Schools & the class discord but there is minimal in-class explanation of core concepts. If you're comfortable teaching yourself the basics of coding through independent research, you'll be fine.
Professor Stalbert is engaging and thought-provoking in his lecture style. He encourages and promotes the creativity and drive in each of his students, providing for a unique classroom experience. I would definitely enroll in another one of his courses.
The professor shows strong professional skills with a teaching style that is organized but still flexible. Expectations, deadlines, and rules are explained clearly and repeated so students know what to do. The lessons are taught in a simple and practical way that connects to real-life examples.
This class was an entirely new experience, from using gamified systems to learn the logic of coding, to working together as a team to build from our ideas into real life. Being able to choose our own path in his "pipeline" was one of the best experiences as a student, and I'd recommend taking his class solely because of how he inspires us students.
