Took his summer class. You'l do well if you go to class and do homework. Gives ec for a attendance & silly in class assignments. You have to be braindead to do bad in this class. His jokes can be corny.
I agree with the other people. He is very helpful and cares that students do well. Sometimes he is too leniant and it can be annoying if you are getting stuff in on time. About the text, try Amazon.com or Half.com and get earlier editions. Me and my girlfriend did this and paid about $20.
Almost as easy as Trieu. Lots of extra credit. Homework can be time consuming. Only downside, but a big THUMBS DOWN, is he uses two different books from Trieu, which will set you back another $100 for each class. Since Trieu has more Econ sections, it's becomes very costly $$$ for you if you can't get into Trieu.
One of the best instructors I have had. I actualy understand econ now! (Iwas so lost after taking macro at Mission.) Goes out of way to help you out. Got the book on web and saved a ton.
Very helpful. Goes out of way for students. Actually held office hrs on the weekends for students that work during the week and I took advantage of it. Big problem was that there is no parking at the cafe. About the book, be careful if you get the older ed. online b/c he gives assignements out of the 3rd ed. Tends go off on tangents on the news.
One of the funnest classes I have taken in a long time. He kept the class interesting with current events. Lots of extra credits. On the take-home mid-term, the average score was an A-minus. The final was just like the review questions.
SJS B-school types should take it at city college. Much easier! Hard to mess up in this class. The gives you so many chances to make up stuff. I tried the class at State but gave up. A guy in my Accounting class told I should take it with Sandu at city college. Just show up for class b/c you get points for it. Can't miss.
Really nice and easy. I didn't even buy the book and just used notes and graphs posted on his internet website for class. Final exam sheet was same review notes. BTW--plenty of extra credit in case you mess up.
I heard of this prof from some one who took the class last year. He is very helpfula nd take advantage of the extra crdit, it could raise your grade by a whole letter. I did for me! Buy the book early online and you'll save $$$$$$! ;)
Just got back the midterm. The average score was hihg B+. Plenty of extra credit every class. If you have to take ECON, take with him so you don't have to take it at SJ State.
Great prof! Keeps class interest with discussion and bad jokes ;-). Knows a lot about the Great Depression and spends too much time on it. Besure to do the easy extra credits and stuff & you will do good. By the book on Web to save $$$!
I just finished the four week summer class. Too fast to digest everything, but the Prof was undersatnding and cut out the extra materials. Get the book early from Amazon or Ebay (Hall & Lieberman)any edition will work. The prof actually helped a former student sell her book in our class.
Wonderful prof. Helps you with take home midterm exam at the Mission Cafe. Trys to make you laugh all the time--sometimes succedds. One big problem: he stays the whole time and keeps talking to the end!
I did well on the take-home exam. I think the rest of the class did good because he gave review session, that was usual for a community college teacher. I'm regtistring for the spring micro class--I heard there's alot of the same material for both classes. He is much better than my DeAnza class.
He's a dedicated teacher who goes the extra mile. I like that he does not treat community college students as less smart than Ivy league students, i.e., his class material and exams have high standards. But because he knows that some students were not validictorians in their highs chool, he makes it easier on them by having sessions.

Sandhu Sahib is a very good professor! Took him in spring for Micro. Was fun class. I never had any bad experience with any Indian professor so far. He gives you out of topic info too. But sometimes stresses on his own opinion too much. But overall good. Best professor in San Jose City for ECON
Very helpful. He gave the class extra reviews for the mid-term and final. (Never seen too many Professors thaat do that.) He gives plenty of work, but also gives extensions. I will be taking his 1A class whenit fits my schedule. By the on Amazon or E-bay for under $10.
Very helpful. We had takehome midterm and are review at a local cafe. FOr the final there was a "Studnet Participation" review that was less helpful. There is plenty of homework but manage-able if you stay on top of it. Do the extra credits!! I agree with the others--buy book on line early or from the girl (Wendy?) that comes by selling books.
If you're looking forward to learn something from the class, I suggest you take it with a different professor. Sandhu spends half of the class time ramble on about nonsense stuffs that are irrelevant to the material. But if you want an easy A, take him. I was disappointed and thought his class was a waste of my time.
This guy wastes half of class time talking about non-related subject material. On top of that he personally bashes people and hates when people add info to his own worthless, opinionated info.Acts like a stupid little kid and was not helpful at all.Took summer course. If you could handle insults and guide yourself thru, then take his class
Best economics Prof around. Some reviewer below had differing opinions. If you are too lazy in the class it can be difficult and it is easy to fall behind. But I college is not for everyone!!! This is my second class with him and he far clearer than most Business profs.
I got an email from fellow claamate saying some one bashing on of the best econ teachers. In my opinion he is one of the better one I have had. There are some studnents that disrupt him and he discipline them in front of class. But those the typical annoying that challenge the profs on everything. Take the class and by the book early from Wendy.
Yeah, I agree. There is some stalker chick that is trying get students to give him bad reviews. (she needs to get a life) He's good guy. Do your homework and go to his review sessions and you will do fine. Book under $10 if you buy. Email him to get names & detail.
Good Prof!
Great teacher. Tries to keep things lite-hearted and have fun with materiel by using cartoon examples. DO the extra credit to make up missings assignements.
He appears to be a hard teacher but he really is a great guy. Make sure to get as much notes as possible from every class (attendance is mandatory). He has been very helpful during his office hours. Overall great professor, if you really want to learn.
Took his summer class, its no vacation, alot of work. Hes a cool dude, helpful, and theres a potluck at the end of the 4 week class. He really doesnt take crap from students. He's entertaining, and if you get offended easily dont take him, he pokes fun at students all the time. Fun class, but you definately cant get by sleeping in this one.
Great prof! Very enthusiatic about Economics. He assigns interesting readings for E/C. He gets you interested in the topic, and he has a great teaching method! Everyone should take a Econ class from him.
Take this teacher if you need economics for business requirements. One problem is he talks too fast and hand writnng needs improving. Other than that, he is understanding and gives extra credit regularly.
Gives extra help if you go to office hours and review section. Can't be lazy in class. Do homework and extacredit you'll do fine.
Good prof. Spends extra time if you need help. Review sections for mid-term and final exams. I think he also teaches at West Valley College.
Speaks too fast sometimes. Great on covering current events but can go on tangets. Get the book early for under $25 by emailing him. Note: easy points circular diagram is on the final exam--he tells you the first day.
Very helpful if you want it. He is easy and let's people slide--but don't get lazy. DO the homework and you will get at least a B--other wise you may get lost.
Great prof and nice guy. Do the homework and review questions--you will just fine.
Easy take home mid-term. Hmwk due every two or three weeks. Final is multiple choise and short answer. Study the circular diagram--it is on final for sure!
Almost done with semester. Do the problems set and mod-term exam is easy. Very fun class. Had potluck & economics movie to get students to class during holiday week. For Spring 2010, schedule lists him as "Staff" on W & Th evenings!?
Buy book online.
Stick with the class and yoo'll do good. He talks too fast and can go on tangent. Take home exam is great plus.
Great teacher, really enjoyed his class. If you get full marks in all your extra cr,final exam should be a breeze.
Great teacher and make the class fun to learn.
So far so good. Report back at end of semester.
Very helpful. Holds review sessions to get student caught up.
I learned so much from his classes. I took both Micro and Macro from him and passed, go to review sessions and you will do great. He has some extra credit work too.
Lots up help for students. Homework is heavy at times but you need it for the exams. Use the review session.
Talks too fast at times and goes off on tangets. Exams are just like the homework and review study questions.
The class was challenging but very easy as long as you attend class and take notes on the lecture. He scheduled extra credit sessions to help with the homework and gives lots of extra credt. I had a hard time following his lecture in class. He talks too fast and uses lots of jargon or terms we werent familiar with. But in the end I got an A.
Very random
The summer class is very fast and intense. He gave extra review sessions on the weekend to help us catchup.
Amazingly funny guy. Very kind hearted and knowledgeable. Class consisted of a midterm and a final. Midterm was take-home and final was quite difficult. Generous amounts of extra credit was given and Professor Sandhu gave us two review sessions out of his own weekend. Give it up for the best public college Econ teacher in the South Bay Area.
wouldn't recommend him.goes on tangents 50% of the time in each class session.knows A LOT but teaching method is somewat poor.material is tough and it is condensed into a 4 week summer session.can get an A with all the EC he offers but you won't learn much unless you teach yourself. but he is helpful, funny and does care. don't slack off!
Great class. Plenty of fun to make the 3 hours managable. Lots of extra credit to make up for a class that can be very tough grasp.
Good class. Too much reading and homework. He is flexible on due dates if you ask. Grade based on exams and homework.
This class is tough if you get behind. Prof offers catch sessions on weekends. He goes too fast on some topics and very carefully on others. Buy book online for best pricwe.
The class is alot of work. But the instructor helped by offering regular catch-up meetings for the class. He uses the Robert Hall Macroeconomics textbook.
Very helpful. He gave weekend study sessions for exams and homework. Sometimes he goes too fast and slows down if you ask. Warning there is plenty of work.
Only guy I know that gives review sessions on weekend for students that are having trouble. Buy book early online.
Plenty of work but he helps you with review sessions for homeworks, midterms and final.
Take home mid-term with a review session. Final is harder than mid-term. Get the book online for under $10 on Amazon. I emailed him early to get the title: Hall-Lieberman 4th ed. (Buy mine on Amazon)
Best econ teacher. Reviews for midterm and finals.
Very helpful. He gave us weekend review sessions for exams and diffcult materials in the class.
best instructor I have ever had! Class lectures are very interesting and differ from the textbook. lot of real examples and stories; besides that his manner of teaching is cheerful. i love his classes despite i have to wake up early in the morning - he made me love economics
I agree the other rater. Great class but too early in the morning sometimes.
He was a great instructor. He would meet with our class for a few hours on Sunday. Not to many instructors that are caring like Mr. Sandhu. He is funny and a kind person. I enjoyed his class even though I had a lot of hw. Thanks for being a great instructor.
Took both micro and macro in 1 semester. Hard but doable. He tries hard to make everyone understand the course so participate as much as possible. He does go fast so listen well. Tons of extra credit so if you fail its your fault. I hate economics but he made it enjoyable. If you want to pass, do well & enjoy class, take his class
Great teacher. He gave us extra study sessions on weekends for review and exams. DO NOT talk/socialize during class lecture b/c that is his pet peeve. Keep up on Aplia b/c they due every week. Early on he gives extensions but later not so much. Plenty of extra credit.
Great prof. Plenty of help if you use it. Must do problem sets to learn material. Take home midterm but inclass final. Uses aplia.
Super nice/fun prof. Jokes a lot and a bit spastic, runs off topic but tries to engage the class. makes a 4 hours class enjoyable. Def go to his study session before exam- you will get an A. He's a pretty lenient grader, uses aplia. one midterm and one final. one part Multiple choice,T/F take home other in class short ansewr. easy A w some effort.
Very helpful. Schedule review sessions for midterms and finals. Do the Aplia homework and go to class and you will do good.
Was alright
Best teacher have had. If you talk in class he gets irritated. Go to the review session and take good notes in class because he tests on what he covers. He includes a lot of current events into the lecture so keep up on the news topics.
The guy's really laid back and smart. A lot of the time spent in class is for lecture (yeah, they're pretty long), but he incorporates a lot of real-time situations and other random topics to go with it. You'll probably pass with a B or higher if you actually engage yourself in reading and note-taking. He grades based off correctness.
I had him for Macro Economics in the Summer. He's a good teacher. If you engage yourself and take good notes, the class will be a breeze. He keeps up with current affairs and incorporates real time scenarios as examples for the class material. He gets off subject sometimes, but is generally pretty funny. He offers extra credit, so participate.
You won't understand what he is talking about in the class. You have to study by yourself.
Online homework and assigned readings important and a huge part of the course. There are only 2 tests: Midterm and Final. Professor Sandhu has a unique sense of humor/personality, so if you don't like his personality DON'T take his class. Overall he was an amazing professor, so take time to talk to get to know him!!
took him for microecon online. pretty easy A! all you need to do is do the alpia hw assignments (probably about 3 a week), the discussions on canvas, and one midterm and final which are online. he offers extra credit! would def take him but if you actually wanna learn econ then take him in class and not online.
Online class with free text book--what more do you need :)
This class has weekly homework assignments which were 3/5 level difficulty for me. As long as you show up to lectures youll pass the midterm and final. The questions are pulled from the lecture. Really recommend.
He will never respond to emails. He will not help you out, if you need help in the class or some concepts. He just says get a tutor. He gave 150 questions on the midterm exam, all multiple choice. HE gives you 3 hours to complete the exam, which is not enough time. The exam will not be grade curved and it's very hard.
Online class. :Used ebook called MindTap and some Canvas assignments. Homework, midterm and final exams determine grade.
Took class at Evergreen and the 3+ hour class passes by quickly. Join his student clubs.
Talk a lot of non-sense that has no connection at all to the topics. He never discuss anything about the homeworks at all. Does not help. Whenever he discuss a topic does not align with the current homework and was very different. I have to learn everything on my own with so much time consuming reading, studying and lots of homeworks. AVOID HIM!
Use ebook called MindTap for most of the online work. Not much in Canvas. If you are lazy, this is not a class for you as he offers lots of examples from real world. Lazy people cannot keep up.
Flex class with meetings once a week. If you miss class, you will have to catch up on your own,
