She goes painfully slow. We are supposed to read about a chapter a week for Orgo, she took about 2-3 weeks per chapter. That might sound awesome, but think about the latter harder chapters which will receive very little time. Also, if you need to take Chem 224, you're screwed b/c all those latter chapters are VERY important. Stick to Dr. Phillips.

Despite being in a pandemic, the Professor didn't properly go over various lectures and despite the circumstances, the professor did not even bother to keep the bonus points from the tests. The exams were online and supervised as well and I believe the tests were all back to back meaning we did not have much time to sufficiently study.

I had Chatterjee for two semesters and was able to get A for both classes. Orgo is hard so you have to put an EFFORT not only to memorize the mechanism but understand WHY. I cannot stress enough the importance of doing tons of practice questions she gives you. Don't listen to people whining about getting low grades. You will make it :)

the attitude and lack of sympathy she has is insane. Don't get me wrong, she seems like a nice human outside of orgo. The worst part is the material isn't that hard but she makes it hard. Its the definition of a class that's set up to fail you. So you have to put in more time than necessary. Also, pandemic? doesn't matter, in fact she's stricter

Dr. Chatterjee is a great professor, Orgo is not an easy class, she tries her best to teach. She might sometimes come off as rude or she doesn't care, but she really does. She doesn't want to baby you, you aren't in gen chem anymore, read the syllabus, and actually do the HW.

You see others giving her good rating because they want to appreciate its fine, but lets be honest, her lectures are mediocre at best. Giving extensions for hw hardly did anything for students up to par to actually pass orgo. Strict as any human can possibly be, many restrictions, and total control over the class/grade without flexibility.

Big PROBLEM!! Since it was online this semester soooo many kids cheated and got perfect scores. Normally this class had exam averages in 50s and there would be a curve to compensate for it. However, now their are people who were honest and did not cheat who are stuck with D & C because so many others decided to cheat. Its unfair and dissapointing

welcome to online orgo. If you take this class in person and people dont cheat your exam scores of 70s will be above average and give you a B but if you take it online you wont get a good final grade because the rest of the class decided to cheat with perfect scores therefore, ruining your chance of getting a curve. Cheers!
