Funny lady. Vulgar in sort of an endearing way. She's quite young, so she knows (remembers) where you're coming from. Also, I would suggest asking questions, because it will make a big difference in what she divulges as far as test material goes.

This class is the highlight of my week! I love her lectures and the way she teaches. Its a fun laid back environment where im not afraid to talk. She demonstrates her lectures with clips from Sesame Street and many other interesting tools. Great teacher, if you have a chance take a course with her!!! :-)

You cant go wrong with Manda! She keeps the class interesting, even through the boring information. She is really gitty too which makes the class fun and gives a good atmosphere to the classroom.

Awesome class. Really got me interested in the material. Very easy class that you don't have to attend but want to because it's fun. Very flexible schedule if you take it at night b/c she has two night classes a week so she really works with you. She let us even drop our worst test! She has study reviews that she leads, great way to study!

Manda is hilarious, engaging, and knowledgeable of her subject matter. She's not afraid to challenge her students academically or just mess with them for the fun of it. She's extremely approachable and fun to talk to. I'd highly recommend taking her classes.

Funnnnnny lady! I can tell she loves what she does. Can keep my attention for the whole time. Not the easiest class, but if you really sit down and study you'll be fine. Questions on tests are more concept. Memorizing definitions won't really work, really get to know things in depth. Study book, and lecture slides.

Great teacher. Class was super easy. We got a few take-home tests and opportunities for a lot of extra credit. She is also really funny and class is interesting. She let our night class out an hour early each night.

Her lectures are both hilarious and informative. She made potentially dull subjects interesting. The tests aren't cakewalks, but some of the questions come from her practice exams, and as long as you get the other points in the class that are practically free, you can afford to bomb a couple of the tests and still get an A.

She's hilarious, and makes the class painless. Topics I had no interest in still weren't bad. There's a TON of ways to get points and she is very helpful. I never did great on the tests but still ended with a high B. Loved her!

Such a vibrant and excited teacher. The concepts are simple enough, but you stay interested because she is so lively and in love with teaching. She made it worth taking a 6:30 pm - 9:20 pm class. I have never had a teacher this excited about teaching before.

Very eccentric person, while annoying at times it made her class more enjoyable. Which is a good thing because the lectures directly follow the text, the material was incredibly dull and simplistic. She was always kind and willing to help when questions were asked. Provided extra credit in the amount equal to two exams. Easiest class I've ever had.

Extremely helpful and her instructions were clear. Most of our project was completed in class and there were lots of opportunities for extra credit. I highly recommend her. She made lecture on boring topics very interesting and fun for everyone.

Manda is a great teacher, so it's sad that's she's stuck in such an easy class. She's very entertaining and friendly, so each lecture is exciting. Unfortunately, the class itself is very basic and you don't need to attend class to know what's going on or to prepare for the tests.

I took this class as a night class and Manda made me be able to pay attention. She is hilarious and uses great examples in her lectures. Lectures are optional, but a lot that's on the test is covered in class so I would recommend going.

I took the online class for Motivation and Emotion. She was good seemed as though she graded hard in the beginning and at the end not so much. HUGE two papers throughout the course. Overall OK.

This professor is the best I have ever had! She is super funny and will do anything she can to help you succeed. Tests are all multiple choice (and you can take them twice), and she gives you a study guide and practice test. You should go to lectures though because that is when she gives assignments (syllabus isn't the most clear). Love her though!

Seriously the best professor I've ever had. She doesn't care if you come to class, but I never missed because of how much I enjoyed her lectures. Super inspiring and I got so much out of it. Take her class if you get the chance! Easy A!

Manda is a FANTASTIC teacher!! She is absolutely hilarious, she is extremely helpful and just wants you to do well. STUDY STUDY STUDY for her tests. They are worded a little bit differently than some people are use to, but Manda is over all an amazing instructor! TAKE HER IF YOU NEED PSYCHOLOGY!! :)

Manda is an awesome teacher! She made class, that was supposed to be almost three hours (taken one day a week), only two hours long. She gave us a couple breaks to keep us from becoming zombies. She kept us laughing and was full of energy. I still have some powerpoints saved because of the interesting videos. I definitely recommend her.

Manda is awesome, she really knows how to relate to her students and isnt the typical boring lecturer, she makes the materiel entertaining to keep students interested. Make sure you go to class and take good notes though because the tests are pretty brutal if you dont know your stuff. Awesome professor but even more awesome person.

I dropped a class a few weeks into the semester, and Manda was awesome in letting me join late. I was able to make up all the work that I had missed. It was a night class, so sometimes hard to stay awake, but Manda is hilarious and knows how to keep students entertained and engaged. All tests were online, and she gives study materials and practice.

I absolutely loved her! She is a great human being, and a great teacher. I understood everything that she went over in lecture, and she makes herself very available if anyone needs assistance.

Online class. Clear grading criteria from the very beginning. As long as you do all the online textbook homework quizzes, you should get a good grade. Study guides for tests are very helpful and can take each test twice except for the final. Very passionate and willing to help if needed. Super cool professor.

Manda offers tons of help on how to pass her class with an A. She's super caring and really funny. Lectures are hilarious, but she posts them online incase you don't come to class. Tests are a little abstract so DO THE STUDY GUIDES SHE GIVES YOU! They help a lot.

Each assignment & final required papers using ref. from text/research articles/ lectures. This is not a class you can just breeze through, you need to take your time & stay on top of assignments!!

Manda's lectures are hilarious. She's also very caring and wants all of her students to succeed. She offers so much extra credit, it's crazy, and allows you to take exams multiple times. Class attendance is not mandatory, she posted all of her lectures online. Or you can just take the class online.

This woman is crazy intelligent in her field & you can tell she's passionate about what she does! She wants everyone to do well in not just her class but all classes & offers to help with skills outside of psych, like perfecting studying & preparing for upper level classes. She is hands down one of the best teachers I've had in my life. 15/10!!

Great class, but super hard if you have no idea how to study or what to study. Necessary to read the book AND watch all the lectures, but overall a great class. Slightly annoying voice, but she is usually pretty funny and very personable. Will respond to help requests quite promptly if needed.

She LOVES teaching and really wants you to pass. She is very hard on grading but that's because she wants you to improve and succeed. Even if you are doing everything last minute and have a D in the class, SHE WILL HELP YOU. She LOVES her students and is literally a 6-year-old. Literally just talk to her, get to know her, and work hard.

Professor Williamson is an amazing professor! She really cares about you and whether you pass or not. Take advantage of the lectures she posts; study up! Print the practice tests and rep them a ton. Don't procrastinate on the tests, studying, or the psychology paper.

Manda is a great professor. She makes everything easy to understand and is super fun. There are TONS of opportunity for extra credit and you are able to retake exams. Homework is online and so is the book. You do not need to show up to get an A.

Tests are allowed to be taken twice, lowest test score is dropped and replaced with highest if homework is averaged at 85%, homework quizzes are straight from the book so it's an easy A for assignments, all her lectures are very well done. Tons of extra credit available.

She really cares about her students and is extremely enthusiastic about the subject. It would be nice if she covered more material in class than she does, so be prepared to do a lot of reading from the textbook to be ready for tests.

Amazing! She is easily one of my favorite professors here at UNL. If you are going to take this class, please consider these: Lectures, Research articles, book assignments, & long very well cited paper assignments. If you are not willing to put in all effort into this class, you won't do well. BUT She is really helpful so ask questions!!

She CARES. She wants everyone to pass. Always reach out to her because she's more than willing to help. She's very kind, loving, and funny! She will literally help you whenever she can. She always gives out many opportunities to try again and learn. SHE IS THE BESTTTT

She will make you work your butt off but it definitely helps you grow in the long run. She will make you learn how to properly cite. She will make you properly always back up your information. She will make you learn how to argue your points. Everything is graded very precisely and it's easy to miss points but it helps you LEARN AND GROW.

She does a lot of extra credit and you get to take the test twice. You can go into the tutoring center to see what you missed. Tests are at DLC. Reading and quizzes on your own.

the tests were in the DLC and oh man were they hard. I never knew what I needed to study in order to do well on the tests and really struggled to get a good grade.

Sweet as pie. If you want a professor that looks past your academic abilities she's the one for you. She wants everyone to do well and will do what she can to help you. You do need to try in her courses as they arent easy, but having a professor like her makes it easy. I wish they were all like her.

Manda is probably the best professor Ive had. While she doesnt make the class super easy, she wants her students to succeed. The biggest things are to ask questions, take notes, and show up to class. Students that show up to class have the opportunity to gain more info on how to complete assignments and extra credit opportunities.

She's super caring, incorporates personal stories in lecture, and regularly gives inspirational speeches to her students. She REALLY cares about her students. It is super easy to get an A in the class- she gives tons of EC and a lot of chances to improve your grade. I would highly recommend taking PSYC 181 from Manda to get your ACE done.

4 exams, final cumulative exam, a TON of Extra.C assignments. Do well on online quizzes and she will drop your lowest exam score (not counting the final). Do all the EC and do good on revel quizzes and the cumulative won't affect you much if you bomb it. There are a ton of tutors for the class! Easier 4 credit class, definitely recommend!

Clearly loves teaching & is passionate about psych in a way that's infectious. Engaging lectures & interesting readings. Read the textbook before class so you can understand what's going on & get the most out of the class. It was hard to structure my class notes because lectures felt scattered but Manda brings her energy and a big heart every day.

She got me interested in psych! She knows the material really well, and gives lots of extra credit! The tests were not too bad either.

She's the only prof I've ever had that gives her personal cell number to students for questions or other needs! She truly cares about the success of each student and cares about your life circumstances. Very inspiring lectures, always applied info to real life situations. Gained useful and practical knowledge.

Very easy going professor and will help you in any way she can. You can take each test twice and she will keep the higher score. Attend class and you can easily get an A.

Manda is such an amazing professor that really wants her students to succeed (helps them to do so)! She gives so many opportunities for good grades and SO much extra credit opportunities. She is very easy to talk to, great lecturer, super funny and is passionate. If you have the opportunity to have her then take it! You won't regret it!

Be prepared to do lots of work for the class. Dr. Williamson makes you work for your grade. Some assignments can be too vague which makes the class harder than it needs to be. Not a whole lot covered but the few topics are repeated over again throughout the course. Would recommend only take class if behavioral psychology is interesting to you

Dr. Williamson has been one of my favorite professors at UNL. Her online Psyc 181 class was awesome. She gives you extra credit for visiting tutors and her lectures are not only hilarious but engaging too. She tries to relate to our generation and it's great! You don't feel overwhelmed in this class at all. I couldn't recommend Dr. Williamson more!

One of the easier 4 hr credit courses. You dont really need to attend lecture/pre-recorded videos as all the stuff you need is in your weekly readings. She provided a study guide thats super helpful and goes along with the reading. The class is easy but you have to put effort into it. She is super caring. She even gave out her personal number.

Like others have said, she makes her personal phone number available - she's the easiest prof to contact I've ever had. I really enjoyed this class, Williamson really gives you all the materials you need and lets you take things at your own pace. I was able to just enjoy learning about psychology without worrying about my grade too much.

I couldn't say enough good things about Manda--she cares about her students to the point that she tears up in a few of her lecture videos, she's hilarious, she responds quickly to email and text (gives you her personal phone number at the beginning of the semester), and her class is incredibly informative. A fair amount of work, but enjoyable :)

Manda was such an amazing professor. She gives us her phone number so we can reach her whenever. She is very passionate about what she teaches and she makes sure we enjoy it too. There can be a lot of material but all the tests are open notes and we have multiple attempts on them as well. Definitely one of the best professors.

If you take Psyc 181 with Manda, you won't regret it. She is very down to earth and will do whatever it takes to help you succeed in her class! Keep in mind however, that she will make you work for your grade. If you do the homework and do well on the tests, there's no way you can fail. Manda always has your best interest!

This class wasn't too hard. The only thing that really sucked is that there were 5 exams, which was a lot. However, there's a lot of quizzes and reci assignments that you can earn 100% on so you don't have to worry about the exams too much. Overall, the course was laid out nicely, and Manda really knows what she is talking about.

Amazing job working with me during a lot of medical problems and was very understanding of my situation! She responds to emails quickly and cares about students understanding and succeeding. Loved this class.

Future students beware!!! If she implements DLC tests again this class will be more time-consuming and you will NEED to understand the material. However, this semester all tests were online so this class was a breeze. There is stuff to do every week. For the book, I would suggest that you Socratic the answers, there is a lot of reading.

Awesome professor! She always helps and gives you so much material to help you! Some exams can be really hard and some are really easy. Ended the class with an A. I would recommend her over other psych professors! I did not try super hard but put in effort to get a good grade.

Not enough space to say how much she really wants everyone to succeed. Took the class online and it was structured into 3 lessons per week very short and straightforward. Assignments are good grade boosters. Definitely do recommend filling out the study guides given at the beginning of every unit to help with exams since they were open notes.

Professor Williamson is super forgiving with deadlines and will allow you to turn in late work. It is a very heavy reading class with online lectures. However, the exams are easy if you study all of the items that she puts on the study guides since only the items on there will be on the exams. It's a lot of work but its not super difficult.

I took this class as an online course and I would highly recommend doing that! Her lectures were very interesting and the class was very much do at your own pace which was VERY nice. Whenever I reached out she was very helpful! Definitely watch the lectures and keep up with readings, then the tests are pretty easy (I averaged a 95%)

As long as you do your work in this class, you'll get an A. Manda is very understanding of circumstances around exams as long as you talk to her first. She's also accessible for help with assignments. Since this is an intro class, the TAs and Manda want to give as many A's as they can.

Took this course online in summer of 2022. The first assignment was a real struggle because I found the questions confusing, but you can email & text her personal number to ask for clarification for anything! I'd say that's the reason why I did well in the class. She's funny and responsive. I can genuinely say that she cared about my success.

Dr. Williamson is one of my favorite professors that I have had. You can tell she truly cares about the success of her students, and is very flexible. Although this is an online class, it is organized really well so that you can stay on track with the course. Highly recommend taking her course!

There's no other prof THIS invested in their students' success. You're allowed to turn things in hella late w/ no penalty, & shes flexible with rescheduling exams and such when life happens as long as you communicate with her first. Even now that the semester is over she's still giving everyone a chance to turn things in. Super nice & responsive.

Manda checked on me and was always accessible. Overall amazing teacher and an amazing class. She knew how to make the information fun and enjoyable which is always a plus.

Manda is the nicest professor I've had. She makes herself very approachable. I took the class online, and it was pretty easy. Most material is common sense, with only a few difficult topics. Exams are in the DLC, but your grade isn't just based on exams so don't put too much pressure on them. Manda's lectures are engaging and funny. Loved her!

It is obvious that Manda cares very much about her students and wants them to do well in this class. She goes above and beyond in making sure that students are prepared and is very understanding of any difficulties you might have. I felt that she truly cared about me as a student, even though it was only an online course and we never met in person.

Manda is amazing and wants you to succeed in her class! As long as you try on the assignments you are going to get a 100 on them. She also offers a few extra credit opportunities and will help you with things if you just go and talk with her. There is a lot of "busy work" but it adds up to a lot of points & can offset some bad test scores.

Manda is absolutely amazing and is so caring and kind. That being said, this class is HARD and the assignments are ENDLESS (especially in lab). Make sure not to get behind and study or you will not succeed.

Best professor for PSYC 181. I loved that there was no penalty for late submissions, and every assignment except for the textbook quizzes was graded for completion. Exams are in the DLC, but the assignments help to keep grades afloat. There is also a 1/2-point EC added to your grade every time you visit the tutoring center. Highly recommend!

There was a lot of reading for this class, and I rarely watched the lecture videos because I was so busy. But the class was great and Manda is very helpful and kind! The TA also emailed me and asked if I needed help, which was nice. I did ok on the tests, so the homework and quizzes helped my grade a lot.

Manda is an amazing professor who cares about her students' well-being. The class is manageable if you put in the effort - read the textbook, complete the assignments, and use helpful resources like unstuck study for study prep. She's flexible and wants you to succeed.

Dr. Williamson is the best professor I've had at UNL.I took 181 online, and she had every day perfectly outlined with what needed to be accomplished. If you don't finish an assignment by the due date, don't worry she usually allows late submissions up until the exam. This class was a joy, so if you need to take Psych 181, choose Dr. Williamson!

I took this class online and it was a great experience. As long as you read the textbook and take notes, the assignments and tests are fairly simple and straight forward. There was a lot of lenience on the due dates and the class was more self paced. The deadlines were straightforward and I was never confused about what was expected.

Manda clearly wants you to succeed and does everything to make sure you can. Lectures weren't mandatory but extremely beneficial to learning (and she's hilarious)! She always shows you exactly what there will be on exams so there's no surprises. While some difficult material is present, Manda works with you to understand and be successful in class!

Study the essay prep and terms sheet and you'll get at least 50% on exams. While attendance isn't mandatory it's helpful so you understand the other 50% of the exam content, plus she sometimes gives extra credit. Don't fall behind on lab assignments and do well on them cause it can boost your grade by the end of the semester.

450 is harder material than 350 but feels like much less of it and easily graded. Highly recommend if you're interested in research or graduate school. Manda is super chill and makes class enjoyable.

Manda is so awesome!!! She is super transparent about grading and how everything works, she WANTS you to succeed, I loved how well she prepared us for tests and how understanding she was with deadlines.

Overall, I loved this class! Manda really wants you to succeed, and will work with you to help you do so. Do every single assignment, use the pink/orange things for practice, and you will do well. You need to study and do the work to pass. While I feel some political views made their way into the class, I still think this was a solid class.

I love Dr. Williamson so much, I would follow her to the ends of the earth. That being said, this class is awful. That is not her fault, the only good part was that she was teaching it. It's way too much information shoved into one semester. My only saving grace was extra credit and the lab grade. Tests are really hard, but you get multiple tries.

Was expecting this class to be extremely difficult based on previous students but as long as you study the review guide and take notes while she does the demos for the exam, it'll be an easy A. She's super funny, clearly cares about her students, and is very accessible, just wish she spoke a little slower as it can feel overwhelming at times.
