Her class was interesting at times and not too hard.
a very nice professor, the class is interesting but not my thing, she is helpful and not boring, if you are an anthro major she's good
Shes quite boring but if you take notes you will pass her class.
This 101 course was more like a graduate level class as far as the heavy workload is concerned and the 20% participation was not even counted in the final grade. There are 3 long ethnographies to read so don't say i didn't warn you! Worst anthro professor
She is unspecific as far as what will be on the tests.Stay away from her and run for the hills because the workload's unbearable. Worst of all, her tests are cumulative! She reads in a monotone voice and is attached with an umbilical cord to her notes.
may be boring at times bc she always reads from her notes, but the material is a solid presentation of the basic issues in cultural anthropology and it isnt presented as a social studies lesson. easy tests if you take dictation notes and skim books.
The tests are straight out from the notes, the ethnographies are boring, but you don't really need to read them; as long as you pay attention in class you'll be fine. Exams are cumulative.
Dont ever take this professor. And don't even think about plagiarizing because she enjoys threatening students -- especially freshmans. If you ever take her class just be a good kid and try not to joke around with her. --
TWO WORDS..:: "SHE'S HORRIBLE".. DON'T TAKE HER CLASS.. SHE'S BORING, BORING, AND BORING..!!!.. SHE'S SOME PIECE OF WORK
She is a horrible teacher. Talks to fast. Doesnt care about what you have to say. Reading is mad boring she is mad boring everything about this class was boring and horrible. Dont take this class with her if you have a choice. BEWARE!
Very interesting class and she is a very nice teacher. Knows how to teach and as long ass you take notes u will so great in her class because the tests are not hard at all
she is the worst professor ever and she thinks that she sounds good when she teaches and she thinks she is funny. Well the truth is thats she is neither!! Do not take her if you are smart!!
Tedious professor! I hate to say this but I agree with most of the comments on this page. But if you have a choice take someone else or just learn stuff on your own b/c you ain't learnin anything here! Nice lady without any teaching abilities.
boring. cant teach very well
Good teacher, take her if you want to learn. Her classes are a little boring and her tests are hard, but she's a pretty decent teacher compared to all others.
very boring lectures which compose of more than enough repetetive unclear talk and not enough helpful notes or interesting data which i expected the course to be.
dont take her class--sure u can find someone else--she seems really nice n cute but shes not--first exam we had the avg.was a 65!! and she didnt drop or curve it--she said it was our fault! i dont think so--i dont even want to talk about her--just dont take her--interesting stuff but she kills it
Very difficult lessons, lots of reading, very difficult tests.

has a bad attitude and i personally think shes can t teach clearly
Great teacher, knows her stuff and the material is alot but very interesting. I recommend u take her the only problem is u actually have to show up to class if not, have someones notes. The tests are extremely easy only based on her notes and i dont agree with everyone else. TAKE HER!!!
Run away. Run as fast as u can. Shes very hard. u need her notes which she just reads off of very fast. 2 do well in her class. there are much better choices than her. if u dont have a choice wait 2 take the class u want in the next semester. and if u are taking her all i can say is good luck.
she iight ....dont find her to be too interesting ... her classes are boring and the tests are fairly hard too...i never red the books..ended up doin iight on the tests...she talks to much
SHE IS VERY UNHELPFUL AND INCONSIDERATE! THE CLASS MATERIAL IS INTERESTING BUT THE WORK LOAD IS RIDICULOUS AND SHE DOESNT CARE! I RECOMMEND U DO NOT TAKE HER!
her class is not easy, you should write notes clean and neat. I suggest take her class and you will see it will be easy to understand and go well on your tests. classes so interesting, i enjoyed being there and I suggest to EVERYONE to take it. she's ready to help U with questions. Just take it.
I don't know what that other person was talking about, her tests are not easy and not based solely on her notes. She tends to throw in a good number of questions that are very detail-specific. She's not that bad but the work load is extremely ridiculous -- I wouldn't take her again.
well she is boring and half the time you feel like she does not know what shes talking about
The Prof is very demanding, the work load is overwhelming.
I hated her class. It was BORING. She thinks that she, and all the authors in those stupid books she makes us read, actually know what they're talking about. The class was a torture. But it wasn't difficult. Grade received: A. Class is still stupid though.
she's alright..she have a lot of readings and writing. There are no tests but participation is a big thing. I recommend you don't take her...her topics are pretty boring and her class itself is boring. She goes on and on. Oh and she lets you out on time or a lil later. Do no take her...
uh what kind of teacher gives a midterm before giving out a real exam? her review sheet was just like a list of words that was not helpful at all...the class sucked and she always let us out late~
I never thought a teacher had no idea what they were doing until i took this class. Seriously she was reading off a sheet of paper and every other minute went to a completely unrelated topin. She was very boring and let us out late. The only good thing was that all u had to do was sign in then leave
alot of work! She was nice, very knowledgeable about the texts but, hard to follow at times. Felt more like literary analysis than anthro. This is a good class for those interested in theory/ lit/anthro/ethnography. If your interested in applied anthro don't take this class.
One of the easiest classes ive ever taken. She s very nice and very very helpful, she takes extra time to make sure u get everything and she really cares about all her students. The readings were extremely interesting and i would definately recommend her.
great class
Great professor. Intelligent, has a stong grasp on the subject matter and gives insightful readings. Heavy workload, theory oriented. If you dislike theory...DON'T TAKE THE CLASS...it's just that simple.
ONCE YOU GET PAST ALL OF HER READINGS...LONG...YOU REALLY LEARN A LOT ABOUT THE MIDDLE EAST. SHE REQUIRED AN 8-12 PAGE FINAL PAPER AND HER LECTURES WERE INFORMATIVE, NOT BLAND
overall, she explains things well and is interested in opinions of others.my biggest critism is that she seems to think that her class is the only class every student is taking.this is an undergrad class- & we are not all anthro majors,so please stop giving us 150 pages to read a week, not to mention a weekly paper to write & then a 8-12 page paper
I registered for an anthropology class & wound up in the middle of ethnography HELL!!The course material couldn't have been more boring & the lectures made me wish I were deaf;the TWO midterms made me wanna poke my eyes out.In the end I have no one to blame but myself.Be smart & transfer outta her class if you mistakenly take her; I wish I had.
plays by the book, no room for improvement if needed. No chances to make anything up. Three tests thats it, and too mcuh reading.
This teacher shouldn't be allowed to teach anthropology 101. The point of anthropology 101 is to get you interested to take 102. She makes you read 4 books, each 400 plus pages. She gives you 3 CUMULATIVE 50 question tests. She bores the living crap out of you. And to top it off, she doesn't curve. Don't ever take her class!!
Can be boring at times. Not that bad. You have to do the readings tho. Req. 3 response papers, and the final was two 5 page essays. Ugh..!!!
I think this professor truly believes her classes are 12 credits each. It also seems as if she is always unprepared coming to class, so she makes she class gather in a circle and makes them talk and participate and pretends she isnt there...someone needs to tell her its not kindergarten
Very interesting class. If you enjoy learning about cultures around the world this class is for you, especially if you enjoy learning about similarities between cultures in the world. Im from north Greece and that book on the Bedouins made me feel as if I was reading about my moms village. Do the reading and you'll do fine very easy.
This Professor in my opinio was very boring, I found myself nodding off most of the time. Her readings were boring. Her exams weren't hard because she tends to repeat he questions in her final. Good thing is She didn't make us write any Papers...
Excellent professor and anthropologist. I've heard people don't like her in the introductory course, which is possible, since 101 is not the most stimulating class to teach. I've had her for upper level courses and I've found the fieldwork experience she brings to class as well as the great readings she selects to be extremely useful and interestin
Good teacher, is very clear but reading ethnography can be boring unless you are interested in area. You learn much in this class though, if you pay attention.
Well, clearly most of the reviewers on here are really lazy and unfamiliar with what it takes to be successful in college. Professor Limbert's classes are definitely demanding, perhaps the most demanding in the department, but she is an amazing professor and you will learn more in her classes than in most of your others.
This Prof isn't bad. However, she isn't the best either. The class just consisted on reading books/articles, writing weekly responses to that week's reading, and two five page each midterm and final which were essays. The bad thing is she takes forever to give you the grade!! she is also disorganized but a sweet lady..
Prof Limbert may be a bit demanding in terms of what she expects to be read for each class, but she is actually a really nice and understanding professor. She invites discussion and questions. She does not take attendance, but it doesn't hurt to show up and participate. I would definitely recommend to someone willing to put in some effort.
One of the best professors I've had Queens. Insanely knowledgeable about the Middle East, especially the Gulf region. Demanding in terms of reading, but if you do the work, come to class, and participate (novel idea!) you will learn a lot. I value my slightly lower grade in this class more than most of my A's.
missed the midterm which was 25% of the grade because of a surgery, didn't give me an opportunity to make up for it, even though the note was submitted from the hospital, made me fail the course even though im a financial aid student, not recommended to anyone.
She is a nice teacher, attendance isn't mandatory but it's good to go to class and listen to lecture, but its usually boring. Read the textbooks and you should do fine on the exams. 2 Midterms and a final.
Worst professor ever do NOT take her unless u wanna waste ur money, never comes to class prepared, gets annoyed easily, talks bout her country n culture more than anything else
She's really nice and will explain things to you if you ask. Attendance isn't mandatory and you don't need to do the readings, you'll still do fine if you study for the exams. She is kind of boring though.
She's very organized, everything you need to know is in the vocabulary. Participation is important to her
I thought she was an amazing professor. She's very passionate about her field of anthropology and knows what she's teaching. If you're interested in culture at all I think you'll find her class very interesting and not boring. Honestly my favorite class last semester.
if you try hard, this is a great class to take. 2 midterms and 1 final, no papers, no quizzes. If you want an easy A, this isnt the best class to take. She loves what she does and she is an interesting teacher, but her lectures can get somewhat boring.
Great teacher.
Treated a 101 level anthropology class like all the students were Indiana Jones. Talked about whatever stupid country she wrote a book about for half the class. Required readings everyday, all of which are very long and don't have the slightest intention of not being deathly boring. May God have mercy on any Anthropology majors' souls.
I took this class two semesters ago, and it was really really boring. The subject was interesting, but the class was tough. There are 3 exams for this class, and they each contain 50 MC questions. However, the readings were very long, and can get intimidating once you go to class and discuss them. If you want to learn something, take her!
I've taken two classes with this professor while completing my degree, and I will say that I have read more in her classes than all other classes in both history and antrho combined. That said, the reading isn't just busy-work. Her lectures and courses are very specifically crafted to build on the previous work done, and PARTICIPATION MATTERS!
Great teacher, as long as you participate in class and skim the readings you will do great. tests are completly based on wha you do in class but really simple easy multiple choice. only 3 tests throughout the semester and a lot of readings. Overall shes very fair and i would take her again.
HORRIBLE! EXTREMELY DIFFICULT PROF
This was a boring class, and unfortunately, the professor didn't managed to make it more interesting. Heavy and consecutive readings, 2 midterms of 50 multiple choices and a 75 multiple choice final, which the professor doesn't curve, and a class of 120 students where participation matters. Make your own judgement.
Anth 212 was a really interesting class. Even though there is a lot of reading and reflection papers it helps to boost your grades. Participation really matters.
Her class is easy to pass if you attend lectures and study for the exams. Only have 3 exams (1st & 2nd midterm and final), and gives a review sheet for them. Also the lectures can be sometimes boring but if you read and use prior knowledge, then the lectures will be easy to understand. Attendance does matter!!
Good professor, although it may get a kind of boring. 2 midterms and a final based on both midterms. You have to pay attention and take notes or else you won't pass. I didn't really read the textbook, just studied the notes she gave and did well on the first exam and on the final. Would recommend taking it.
The required books for this class were somewhat difficult. Although she is a very caring professor, I wouldn't recommend her!!! Her writing is extremely horrible and her writing assignments are difficult. I had to PNC this class or else it would've ruined my gpa. AVOID THIS CLASS, I REPEAT... AVOID IT.
There were multiple books we had to buy for her. She wanted physical copies which made my wallet cry a bit, but most of them were very interesting. Besides reading a lot, her lectures dive deep into many different concepts, pretty interesting if you're into culture. Overall, very sweet- take her, unless you absolutely despise reading.
This is my second time taking her class again after 2 years and she is very inconsiderate towards students and also rude as well, she might seem nice in the beginning but if you will slow down for any reason she will fail you. Also she forces students participate when in person and she gives too much hw and papers, she also very hard grader.
Participate in lectures. You'll love her and she'll love you. Thumbs up.
Her class was fine, but with a big class is hard to stand out and participate, but if you share in class, she'll be an easy A, lots of reading and tests.
I think that her class is okay and but it kinda boring!
She's passionate about her subject and gives interesting material to read. Lecture can get boring if there's a boring topic but it's usually good. The exam and quiz questions are straightforward, basically just test for reading comprehension. Read the material and attend lecture and you'll get an A.
Hi Professor Limbert she is good professor and I would say sometime her class is boring and first time I took her friends bc I found myself be fun but sometime I think that make me Interesting from her and she is nice and respond email.
Hi Professor Limbert and she is so nice and sweet I would recommend to taking her again and for most people like to come to her class. I alway love come her every time you feel down or grade or anything related to you. She will listen to you.
She cares about her students and the subject. Sit up front, participate & it will boost your grade. 5 quizzes on the readings, 2 Midterms and 1 final exam directly from notes and readings. No trick questions. Easy A if you show up and pay attention. She is the sweetest!
Average class. I would've hoped the reading she gave us, she would actually review them properly in the class. She is "ok" not the best but not the worst.
Make sure you do the readings test and quizzes are based on the readings. Do good on 3/4 quizzes at least. If you do bad on 2 your grade will be low.
she's alright she isn't bad but you have to read A LOT . her exams are somewhat easy if you read the articles and the textbooks and her slides you will do fine.
lots of reading, if you can manage the reading you will do good
I thought I understood the material after reading the book but no matter how much I studied, I never really got high grades on the tests. She is really nice and understanding. She also allows you to ask questions and doesn't assign homework other than to read the book which is essential to you passing the class or not.
OK, she isn't as bad as people are making her seem but she makes you read SO much. It's insane, it's like there's a new text for every single class that you have. I would honestly drop this course IF it's an elective. She is not easy, she talks for hours and gets mad if you're on your phone or using a computer. Beware!
Professor Limbert's lectures are interesting. She does assign readings almost every class, however she assigns either only a few pages in the textbook or a short excerpt from an article. Lots of information on slides and long quizzes/exams, but as long as you study you will pass. She does not allow any electronics, only pen & paper.
AMAZING. i loved her class, although there was many readings they were nor boring at all, enjoyed being in the class and what she had to say tests & quizzes are definitely reasonable and if you pay attention you will get a good grade. overall genuinely enjoyed the class.
Professor Limbert is a very average professor. The class was very straightforward and some of the lectures were interesting, but most of them were painfully boring. There is a lot of reading in this class but other than that the quizzes and tests were not that difficult. I would recommend the class as it was not hard or tricky.
Class was horribly boring, but you have to attend, because in the mostly useless lecture there may be a very important thing you need for exam. Lectures = boring. The exams were easy if you did reading and she reuses exact Q's from quizzes, but the quizzes had only 10 very OBSCURE Q's (1 wrong and you're already at 90%). Class is hard for a 101...
Straightforward in a way that makes it boring every lecture. Take notes as this is a lecture heavy class aside from the 1-2 articles (can get heavy at times) you have to read before each class session + minimal slide notes. 4 quizzes w/ 10Qs each on readings, 2 midterms 50Qs each + final exam with 50Qs + EC writing question. All MCQ + no curves
If you like lectures, this is the teacher for you. By no means am I saying she is bad, in fact, she very much cares about her lectures and is open to comments and questions during the lectures but it is a lot to listen to. Assigns reading assignments that u MUST read for quizzes and tests (LECTURE AND READING HEAVY). If you read and listen ur good.
Professor Limbert's lectures can be long, but engaging if you stay focused. The readings are dense, but unstuckstudy and quizzing yourself on the key points helped me prepare well for the exams. Overall, a challenging but rewarding course.
She doesn't respond to emails and she doesn't care if you have a valid excuse for absence when it comes to her quizzes and tests. Her test questions aren't difficult but theres a lot of material to cover. Her lectures are very long and extremely boring.
- Lots of reading, you need to read 2-3 articles before the class and each class - Book - Old schooling- no phones, no laptops - 4 quizzes, 2 midterms and the final - the quizzes are about the readings and you really need to do all the readings - wordy exams
This professor is alright. I can tell she enjoys what she teaches, but sometimes it feels hard to sit through. Not terrible, but not amazing either; 7/10
The class wasnt that bad, there was loki a lot of reading, but I think a lot of concepts were somewhat simple to understand. everything was multiple choice and she always posted the slides/notes from class but not always right away
