She is a great teacher!! I got an A in her class:) She is very helpful and always willing to answer any question you have!
Great teacher. Just do your homework, go to class and show her you care about the class. Really helpful, you will need to have the book in class and practice practice practice!!
she is easy, nice, and helpfull....i am taking her again for trig in the fall.
I must say even though I achieved a B in the class and the professor is very nice something about the way she teaches I had a hard time with. As long as you try and pay attention I feel like the class could be an easy B.
I am terrible in math, I hate the subject so much. But I must say I finally made an B thanks to this teacher. She was helpful and also allow the class to earn points towards there final grade. I would recommend her to students that hate math.
Was not very helpful, will not curve my grade even after all my efforts and the fact that she was privy to the fact that my mother was serioulsy sick. I worked vry hard but had nothing to show for it but a disappointing C.
Do not take her. its hard to understand the way she teach
She does not know how to teach good. I'm not saying she isn't a knowledgeable lady...but she seems disorganized and all over the place when she is teaching. She goes way too fast on material. She really needs to organize herself a bit better. because if she is lost...everyone else is lost :/

Horrible at explaining! >>>i think she rated herself thats why there are good comments. She needs to change her style of teaching. I agree she can make something that is easy SO HARD...if you ask her anything she'll get on you and make you feel like a dumbass
does so not know how to teach, you can barely understand what shes saying, she puts the problem,works them out, but wont tell you how, i havent learned anything from her, have to seek help form math lab, but she does drop grades
She is rude and makes you feel stupid. I got a lot of help from private tutorship. She does a few questions from section and then gives u a lot of useless practice questions. She wants working for multiple choice questions!!! she fails you if you get a multiple choice right but have no working,so no educated guesses. She'll ruin ur gpa.
she is good teacher for upper label , easy class, dont get afraid about test in her class as it is open booktest and she make decision if it going to be counted or not according to student grade, will drop if low
Smart teacher, but not good at teaching the material to students in a way to know how to perform the steps. She teaches all over the place never in line with the book. The only reason I got a B was b/c of a tutor, & ALOT of practice. Please be careful in choosing the right teacher b/c i had a lot of headaches & long nights
This professor is for real helpful. In fact the subject by itself need attention and follow up to learn. If you study the material and practice her pre test examples you will be fine.
She is very nice and works with students the best she can when it comes to grading. Math isn't a blow off subject or class so you will have to do work. I took her for 2 maths. I liked her!
She is easy but she expect a lot of things out from her student. . It was a easy class for me because I study and do the review. All I can say is study the review then you will be fine :)
IF YOU COME TO CLASS AND SHOW THAT YOU ARE INTERESTED IN LEARNING OR TRYING YOU WILL DO FINE. HER GRADING IS BETTER THAN FAIR. HER TEACHING SKILLS ARE OKAY BUT IM NOT A MATH LOVER AND I PASSED WITH A "B"..IM SO GLAD IM DONE WITH MY MATH COURSES!!
She is so rude and uncaring! I repeatedly asked her to work with me to help me do what I have to do to pass. She makes the tests WAY too hard and the homework also. Her class is unpassable and I had to drop! I wasn't going to let her unhelpfulness as a teacher hinder me from keeping my good gpa.
She is not helpful at all. she sporadically throws problems on the board. It is so frustrating.
She expects us to come to class knowing everything about the Trig function. Instead of teaching, she keeps on asking the student if this is right or this is wrong. She is a nice person, but bad in teaching. Can't believe she teaches alot of the math classes.

Highly disorganized, can't seem to keep in line with anything, looks like she does all the problems for herself and shes the only one who probably understands her. Please. Stay. Away.
Professor Mandri is exceedingly skilled; just watching her you can see she really enjoys and excels in what she does. In her fervent love of mathematics, she expects her students to fully apply themselves to the course.
She is a nice teacher if you are willing to work hard. I think that's the right attitude too. I was not very good in maht but she made it seem easy.

She is a great teacher!VERY UNDERSTANDING WHEN IT COMES TO GRADES.The people below who says that she's a bad teacher probably are the ones who thinks they can just slide through college. dr.mandri is very hard. she gives a lot of homeworks for her students. she does not teach anything in class, so you have to study by yourself. so many people fail in her class.

the best teacher I ever have at HCC.she takes all her time to explain the lesson and demonstrate it with a lot of examples to make sure students have understood.I had"A" on my calculus I and II.I do not think 100 little exercises is too much for a math class. If you cannot get a good grade on her class ;blame yourself but not her
Great teacher. She will give you extra chances to improve a grade. Do your work and you will be fine. Don't blame her if you are lazy. If you have any questions, she will gladly explain. If you are half way decent student, take her. I was afraid of math but I got an A.
One of the best instructors. She is very helpful. She will drop the worst score test. Do the homework and you will earn good grade and learn math.
Great Professor! She teaches clearly, and if you have trouble she can help after class. I got an A in this class just by doing the homework and test review! Easy test and quizzes.
Very good teacher. Her grading is more than fair. If you do well on final test, your final grade will be good, if not than the other grades will count to improve your overall score.
Very good teacher. If you are shy and have a question, you can just write it on the paper and leave it on her desk and she will answer it. If you do homeworks and test preps, you will make A.
This is one of the best math professors at HCC. She is very helpful and tests are very similar to reviews.

Very good professor. If you have any questions she would gladly explain with out hesitation. Easy to pass her class! She gives you many opportunities to make a good grade. If you didn't pass her class, you either didn't show up to class or never showed improvement. She is very understanding! I would definitely recommend her
Very good and reasonable instructor. She gives plenty of opportunities for grade improvement. More than fair. Take her and you will not regret. One of the best math teachers you will find.
Dr. Obeyesekere is an excellent instructor and a person. She is very down to earth and helpful. Do your homework and test reviews and you will earn an A.

Horrible absolutely. She said in quote "if you don't know how to do this problem then you should have some shame" the question was log12 - log7 and she said you divide in half and you get 132. Like whaatt?? Save yourself I took the first test and planning to drop this class haven't ever dropped a class before.
Prof Mandri is really good. She goes deep into the chapters, and breaks the problems down for you. She wants you to succeed. If you show that you care, and do your homework, etc. she will take that into consideration. But she goes super fast though, especially for the last 2 ch that we did for the finals, my life would've been less stressful.
I hadent taken a calculus class in about a year when I registerd for her class. I was very afraid about not being able to remember anything but Professor Obeyesekere is so understanding and helpful! She even let me borrow her class textbook for the semester to help me catch up to the class! I would definately take her class again.
I took her Calculus I and II courses. She explains in detail how to work through problems. However, she does work through the problems very fast, and if you're not paying attention, you can easily lag behind.
She is hard to understand
She curved the first test to give all the students confidence for the rest of the course, and she answers any questions you may have before continuing to teach. She teaches at a very fast pace, so keep up! But overall, good teacher! Drops the lowest test grade as well and gives out extra test that can only help you get a better grade!!
Took Math 1314 with her, I really like her, she's very helpful and always willing to answer any questions you have. Has an accent but you'll get used to it.
She goes really fast and sometimes does not even finish the problems she wrote on the board. I basically had to rely on Youtube to actually understand the material. The good thing about her is that she is an easy grader and if she sees you try hard she will do whatever it takes to help you.
i Took her this semester she doesnt explain the material well at all! she'll ask you how to do a question and give you 3 seconds to answer it then she answers it herself and moves on :/ everything youve learned about math, she will explain it in the most difficult way possible. you MUST do your homework on MATH CONNECT. DONT TAKE HER!
Professor Mandri does not put a full effort at making her lessons clear, she is freestyle, changing from one section to the next and you will not even know. The passion to elaborate on the concepts are just not there. She's going to deliver it quick and summarized, my notebook was a mess for this class.
Professor Mandri doesn't explain well, she's very unorganized. If you plan on transferring to university, you will need to make up for the lack in education that you'll receive in her class unless you self teach yourself and use her class as a basic guide and fill in the rest. 2/10 would not recommend if you need math for your degree.
Professor Obeyesekere might not the the best professor. Sometimes is hard to understand but if you read the book, do online homework and test reviews you will pass the class.
This professor is not the best, but you can get a good grade. All tests are multiple choice as of 7/28/16 and they are VERY similar to the review. On the flip side she is not the best at teaching, she jumps from chapter to chapter and the amount/difficulty of homework is pretty bad
This class was fine. HW was a lot but helped me learn. I did teach myself a lot of the material because her explanations arent the best but its manageable. Best part of the class was how the tests were pretty much exactly the review. Study the review and you will get an A. 4 exams, lowest 2 dropped, 1 final (that is also the review), & a HW grade.

The worst teaching method, never answer your question directly, no example problems in class, just talk about theory in class and lots lots of homework.
Homework (Webassign) is the most horrendous mountains of homework I have ever experienced. LOL, aside from that Ms. Obey is a very nice lady and she understands you. Tests are easy to medium difficulty, multiple choice, and around 25 Questions +-5. Sometimes she goes exceedingly fast, and one must keep up. Needless to say, Jesus Christ is Lord!!!

Stay away from her If you know you are not really good at math. She only writes some strctuture from the book on board without really giving good understanding examples!!! She also jumps from section and chapter to another one. When we ask her questions , she does not answer it clearly , and gives similar question that is so basic. No calculator!
u told us about biologist that they are dummies, well here is the thing maybe u r right and finally u got my interest that day rather than getting my interest in CAL, i honesty didnt get shock when those biologist let u out coz in when some advanced math teacher doesnt have a method of teaching, then i would never get surprised in this situation!!
i got an A, but i had that A i worked for that A, i went to millions of tutors, i studied so much to at least know what your review is talking about and you didn't teach us that i consider "anything". taking her was the worst decision i could have made in my life. god bless HCC for having her and having all other teacher whom are same type!!!!!!!!!
Okay how can i say this, RUN FOR UR LIFE! if you care about your GPA don't take her, By far the worst professor i have ever encountered, IDK why HCC let her teach, You'll be reaciving Countless of homeworks, her test & review dont look alike, this lady does not care that you have a life outside of school, you will need a serious tutor for her class
I took her 8 weeks online class, the class is heavy for 8weeks and i had to study a lot to keep up with the exams and the homework. our relationship was over emailing back and forth and she was answering most of my questions about the course, but if you decided to take this course with her youtube will be your option. Also solve all test reviews.
Very good professor. Her lectures are boring but are helpful when doing the MML homework. Her tests were very elaborate and are very similar to the homework you do. This class was a 5-week summer course, so long-term semesters may differ.
Professor Mandri grades in your favor. If you do the review thoroughly, you will pass with a good grade. (Easy-Medium test!) Her lectures are confusing but not impossible. The material on WebAssign is difficult, however it shouldn't effect your grade too much. If you can work your way up to an 80% or higher on 75% of the sections you'll be fine.
She is a sweetheart. She wants you to pass. She gives reviews for tests and she drops your lowest grade. Its only four or five tests and a final btw. Just take decent notes, do your homework, pay attention during class and youll be good.
Lots of homework, be sure to study for tests. Good professor overall.

This professor isn't very clear about what is on her test. In the final, there were topics we hadn't discussed in class. She expects you to get the concepts fast and doesn't let you take notes because she wants you to listen, even though you might learn better by taking notes.
He gives alot of vague work, many times as if he was actually teaching a class though it is online. His Test Reviews are convoluted and the hw questions are mostly not applicable and just a waste of time when you could be studying the concepts. I would not recommend he teach online classes.
Did her online 8 weeks class as the only choice available. (4 tests) 2 tests online, 1 at campus 9 questions answer 5 for 20 points each. NEED TO SHOW ALL YOUR WORK. Final 25 questions multiple choice, SHOW ALL YOUR WORK AND NO CALCULATORS ALLOWED! First day you need to acknowledge you are present if not you will get drop from class. Good luck! run
This Professor is very unorganized. When she teaches she just rambles on, and when she is teaching, she teaches verbally a lot of the time instead of writing on the board. When she does write on the board, she does not write out each step so you never really know where she gets her numbers from. I would highly recommend choosing a different prof.
class has only been in session for a week and already the entire thing is a mess. homework is complicated and her discussions difficult to understand (does she want an answer submitted or not? who knows, but itll probably show up on your final grade.) she also sends emails with plenty of (how do i put it kindly?) attitude. by far worst online prof.
I took her in person for the Fall 2019 semester. While I did basically teach myself every lesson through Khan Academy, once I got the concept, it was basically a breeze. The reviews are about the same as the exams. She drops the lowest exam grade. Online hw is really easy, because it gives you the answers the second you get them wrong. No textbook.
I took her online during summer due to Covid-19. She doesn't have lectures but would have meeting once before exams but it doesn't help, she just rambles on and doesn't even finish solving any questions. And I think it's beneficial to have lots of hw but hers doesn't help at all. Sets stupid rules for exams. She doesn't want you to pass. The worst.
The worst professor I have ever had. You have to show your work before and after every question when you take exam, and takes off points if you don't. Doesn't AND can't teach and will do anything to make you fail. Her reviews close a day before the exam opens but you're not even close to being prepared to even look at the reviews.
I'm sure this professor means well, but this class was extremely difficult for me. After the first test she refused to do online tutoring sessions and basically passed my class off to another guy, who was little to no help at all. I basically taught myself the material.
ive only been taking her for a week and shes been so rude. she literally emailed me 5 times in a row telling me she sent a question last week, but i didnt see it cause she constantly emails me threatening to drop me from the class if i didnt answer her question FROM LAST WEEK! which isnt a mandatory grade!!! DO NOT TAKE HER!!!
