Pretty good prof overall, i had him for his first semester at langara. His quizzes will be multiple choice or true/false. He uses his own notes but the online notes provided are pretty similar. It is sometimes hard to understand what he is saying due to his accent.
Just write whole page for the midterm's essay you will get probly 90% for essay part, extremely easy marker but lecture is boring so just read text by your own will be fine for the quiz and test
he is great professor. exams are easy very similar to assignments.
thick accent, vague instructions, ignorant to students needs, thinks hes clever, bad attitude, everything on the exam is in the textbook, you dont even need to show up, instructions dont help, ask fellow classmates
Very professional and knowledgable teacher
Very knowledgable and professional teacher
- Interactive class experience - well paced lessons - insightful observations - Notes are on the slides, & covers most of the book
He is very passionate about what he teaches.
Manish is a great teacher. He takes the time to ensure you understand the concepts before moving on. He makes the class interesting and his exams are straightforward, and on what he taught in class. Awesome Teacher, Highly recommended!
Overall, a really fun and recommended class, but you better be able to participate and work with groups. Manish was awesome although your experience might differ depending on how you enjoy the group projects which some people were frustrated with lazy teammates. It's a recommended GPA booster to take this course with him.
I would recommend Manish to everyone! GREAT prof! He explains the content very well and puts his students first. His goal is to have all his students succeed in his class. I always look forward to his class. WOO!
Manish was a great prof and guided us very well throughout the duration of this semester. He has a good control of time in class. Very punctual and patient person. Relaxed classroom environment, much better than lecture hall settings. I enjoyed the class discussions. QUIZZES & EXAMS - no shocks and surprises. Crystal clear directions.
Lets face it Manish is an easy marker and thats about it. I see he has such a high rating and I can understand that. Langara students just want the easiest teacher to get the highest grade. In which case Manish is your guy. But he is not a great teacher lol. It seems he knows little about marketing, he memorized the book. no real world expereince
He is very interactive. I took two courses under his direction and was able to get through them with a better understanding that I feel I can take to the workplace and use effectively. I am very grateful for the nonjudgmental way the class is handled. Manish is a wonderful, always cheerful teacher. I really enjoyed the class!!
Very good teacher. Cares about his students. I learned a lot and got an awesome mark at the end. if anyone has the opportunity to take this class, it's worth your time and money.
Manish has a great knowledge and vast experience in business, however, his lectures are extremely long and dry. He is a tough grader when it comes to written answers. Is strict in class. Love the subjects, but it's hard to stay focused in his class.
Best Teacher !
Fun prof, funny and has vast and very good knowledge.
I have a fairly good grasp of business, but I found this class a bit dry and uninteresting. There are many assignments throughout the semester which are time consuming and worth little to the overall mark. With all the additional assignments, the course can be overly time consuming, in addition the class environment is somewhat strict.
This guy is truly delightful. I loved every class session I had with him. He's sweet, easygoing, clear, helpful, and truly determined to help you learn. I'd take his class again any day. I recommend everyone to take his course. You won't be sorry.
great course. learnt a lot about business. Manish is an expert and really knows a lot. He is helpful, organized & makes course interesting. Second course I have taken with him... I highly recommend.
I won't be taking a class with Manish again. He is a tough grader, is not encouraging or inspirational and it seems like he enjoys giving students a hard time. Also, if you're late he starts a round of applause which is embarrassing for whoever is coming in tardy. He is not approachable or friendly and doesn't make any special effort to help.
He is awesome...
He is an amazing marketing and business teacher. Very sweet and helpful always comes forward to give you feedback and solve the queries. Fair marker and lectures are fun!
One of the best teacher i have ever came across.
I really enjoyed going to class and having Manish as my professor. Very good lecturer and clear on what you need to know. He really knows a lot so I suggest you take him.
Manish tries to make his Consumer Behaviour class entertaining and informative at the same time, and I think he is doing great. Besides, his lectures are clear and he explains the concept very well, plus there is no surprises on exams. Attend the class and don't be late.
Manish is a lovely person. He is kind and genuinely cares about making sure his students are learning and participating. 2 things though: exams lacked constructive feedback for short answer questions which made expectations unclear and when he bangs his ring for attention it can be a little abrasive. Great teacher though and would recommend him!
Helpfull
Manish loves what he teaches, and it shows. Loved the Consumer Behaviour class.
He is a very helpful professor and lectures are amazing. Class participation matters. However, it is mandatory to show up, read the textbook, and be responsible for everything if you want to pass. Tests are tough.
BEST teacher at Langara
One of the best teachers I have had. Very funny, helpful lectures, good class discussions! Overall fun class
kind and helpful
The overall class is nothing challenging. Just read up on the ppt slides he puts up on d2l and read the book and you're set. No joke tho, participation really matters. Expect to be involved with every single discussion there is. If you never talk, he'll pick you out one day. 1 group project but not too hard. Tests are easy if you read.
This was my favorite class I have taken ever. He is awesome.
Manish is a very kind and respectful prof. Attendance is very important as it counts for part of your grade. Participation in class is also important. His midterms are easy as long as you take notes and listen to his examples
Very good teacher who is realistic! He highly respects his students and if you ever have questions, he will help u!! Attend class! Textbook is essential to passing (older version is fine) His exams are easy as long as you understand what's going on in class! Group prjts are easy but dont procrastinate!! He is a super sweet teacher! Will take again
very helpful
One of the Best in Langara
Simply the best professor around. He makes it very easy with his sense of humour and his general knowledge which is quite tremendous. Definitely just GO FOR IT.
He is a GREAT person. He really knows all about consumer behaviour and he loves teaching. Attendance is mandatory and he takes attendance exactly when the class starts (on the minute). He is very fair, so if you work hard, you will get good marks.
Participation and attendance matter. Other than that, very easy course. Just read the textbook and know the definitions inside and out. Awesome prof, one of the best at Langara.
Very good professor, a little dry material but its very manageable. Group project (like any) takes work and time but very straightforward and no complaints. Also all the exams are very fair make sure you just know the definitions from the textbook and listen during the case studies in classes.
Best Prof at Langara School of management
A really good professor. Knows everything about what he is teaching and is very familiar with his subject. You will enjoy learning from him and he also expects everybody to participate in class and never miss any class. *Reach 10 min. early before the class starts.
I highly recommend Manish. He really goes above and beyond for his students. He really wants you to understand your work.
My favourite class that I've taken so far. Attendance is mandatory but the class is very engaging.
HE IS VERY GOOD AND HUMAN BIENG ALSO . ALWAYS THEIR TO HELP AND HE IS PUNJABI GUY AND THEY ARE ALWAYS KIND HEART PEOPLE
He is a great instructor.
Exams are straight forward. Class atmosphere is very positive. He has a good sense of humour which lightened the class.
Manish is my fav marketing prof. He is fun, clear, and passionate about his work. Regarding grades: you get what you put in.
Amazing marketing professor. His exams are straightforward if you do your studying. Great lectures also and very caring about his students.
If I could take him every class, I would.
Really among the top 3 business professors at Langara. Exams are so straight forward.
He is a Consumer Behaviour course expert. Also, a nice teacher.
Consumer Behaviour is tough course and it could get complicated if the instructor is not very specific. The course contents have lots of psychology terms and theories which Manish did not deliver properly.
Manish is a nice teacher but his class unfortunately was boring. I think I attended 75 to 80% of them. He kept talking in class and tried to have interactive discussion with students and it's just did not flow well. Take notes and study, exams are way easier than what he says in class.
Had this professor for 2 classes, MARK 1115 and MARK 2100. Best decision I ever made was taking his classes.
This class was very overwhelming. Content and concepts were not easy to understand. This class got two midterms 'cause it has lots of contents! watch out and be aware as Manish is not well organized.
Exams are difficult. Easy in-class assignments. Very creative prof
manish is a good professor who cares so much about his students. he is clear on what he wants from you and reminds you when you have deadlines coming up. Just Lot of reading, but if you want the A, you will earn it.
I find it a bit ridiculous that someone here had such a hard time with him. He is veryhelful teacher.
He was boring. Marketing Research is an interesting topic if the professor can engage students. Sadly, he did not generate any interest in the class that basically he ended up talking to a wall.
Doesn't communicate with what he wants well, so you have to get used to the accent. He could be difficult to understand at times having you no choice to teach yourself!
he is good and would like to recomend
He really loves Marketing and he expects his students to also enjoy the subject. I learned a lot from his class on Marketing
This class was disappointing. This professor relies on the students as he's not good delivering lectures. He needs to improve his teaching skills. To me, Manish seems lazy though he's funny.
Take his courses!!! You seriously will not regret it
This class uses lots of statistics knowledge. You have to be prepared to apply Mode, Median and Mean, also focus group etc. Read both books - Marketing Research and Business Statistics or you will be lost as this professor has not good knowledge of statistics and he cannot explain/apply those concepts in class! Watch out yourself!!
Complex course and too much psychology content ! Professors who teaches this type of course should be experts, no those who haven't experience in the subject.
Very good teacher who knows how to teach you the basic fundamentals of marketing. All homework and quizzes are online through D2L. Very good teacher
He makes marktng research fun! Lectures are actually interesting and engaging. It wasn't easy, but it was manageable, and as long as you go to class and pay attention/take notes, you should be fine
He makes course fun! Lectures are actually interesting and engaging. It wasn't easy, but it was manageable, and as long as you go to class and pay attention/take notes, you should be fine
This class requires a "C" minimum in STAT class - it's on the Langara website. That's why I recommend you to learn and read business statistics on the side as Manish does not explain it very well.
This professor presents his class material in a confused way. Every lecture at college should have a clear structure: an introduction, a main part, and a conclusion. Theres where I see a gap between the students expectation vs the teach duties. That's why I struggled lots in his class
Manish is really here to make sure that his students learn the content in the clearest way possible. The class is structured very well and he wants you to be successful. I highly recommend taking this class.
The teaching of Manish is very clear and consistent.
Helpful prof
Gives the least amount of support out of any professor I have ever worked with. He is kind and has a good sense of humour; however, if you are someone who needs visual aids or aid in note-taking, you may miss valuable information and he doesn't upload notes to D2L. You will not learn anything that you haven't learned already in prerequisite courses
Manish, You are awesome. Keep up the good work. .
Hes a nice prof and he tries very hard to accommodate as much as he can. I can see why other people dont like him as much. He doesnt baby his students which is not typical with other profs. But its to be expected, hes not a high school teacher. If you have a question, just ask! If youre respectful towards him, hell be nice to you!
Very good prof. Very fair prof.
Incredibly unreasonable and rude. During the Covid19 crisis he gave students extra work, held fewer and less detailed lectures and was extremely unclear and strict about deadlines. When students were their most stressed, he was his least compassionate. He is bad at explaining concepts, a hard marker and condescending towards students. Stay away.
Its COVID 19 and he is only an e-mail away. Very regular and quick in responding. Very helpful teacher.
Avoid this teacher. He is very incompetent and often provides inaccurate facts during class. Only good thing is this class is just memorization so you don't have to attend lectures and can just read the textbook. Also group project is worth 20% and was not organized well. May group were not able to submit their peer review and lost 10%.
great and thorough teacher! His tests are very straight forward as long as you read the textbook.
Best teacher at Langara School of Management
Ignore all the negative comments. He's a decent professor. He gets to the point straight and simple. There are 2 exams and 1 final. I took it in the spring and it was pretty fast but I managed to get a perfect score on the final. Good Luck!
This guy argued with an entire class for a few minutes when he screwed up a midterm submission box and wouldn't give a third of his class an opportunity to submit their work. Also needed to argue with him to get a group member who did ZERO work removed from our group project. Told me to shut up multiple times in class. Not a good look! Never again.
Classes are boring and essentially useless. My project group agreed to eject a member whose work needed to be redone due to plagiarism. Manish insisted on meeting with us after class, where he rudely argued with us that the plagiarist still deserves marks for turned in assignments since his name was on them, despite a confession and evidence. 0/5.
wasn't exciting or anything, but as long as you complete the assignments and study for the exams you'll get a good grade
Manish is an amazing teacher, he is caring and very helpful outside of class. I did not like marketing until I took this course with him.
One of the best professors! Straight forward with his outline. 15% 2 midterms, 1 group project 20% and 20% final exam. Midterms have 2 sections- one is 2 application based questions and second part is 40 mcq's. Gives real life explanations. I am interantional student and kept this course for boosting my CGPA. All questions are from the textbook.
Best prof !
Good teacher. Explain everything in class with examples. Easy openbook homeworks.
If you are looking for easy class, and only memorize the material, this class fits you perfectly. However, if you are like me that can't memorize anything material to save your live, this is not the class for you. I don't think you will learned anything new in this class. Just memorize the WHOLE TEXTBOOK and you will get good grade
Very engaging class discussions. Group project is difficult. Two mid terms, lots of MindTap assignments. Work hard to get good grades. Very nice teacher.
Consumer Behaviour- the most difficult course in Marketing diploma. I will miss these lectures in the future. Highly recommended class.
AVIOD this prof. u can tell he is impatient and easily annoyed when student asks his question. His lecture didnt teach much but he assigned in class assignment which means attendance is mandatory(it wasnt said in syllbus tho) And exam and project r both lengthy.
Very supportive and kind to students. He is not an easy grader at all. With decent amount of hard work, you can try for a A in his course. I suggest to work ahead of time.
just amazing
Manish's exams, specifically the written parts, were quite difficult. However, he's a fair grader and really does want all his students to succeed. Marketing Research is a content-heavy course, but Manish teaches it in a way that sets up students for success. He's an awesome instructor to take this course with!
Course requires discipline and hard work. Need good work ethic and dedicated amount of hours.
Took this course online. Very generous grader, a nice and caring prof. A midterm, final, and a group presentation determines most of your grade. Be prepared to read the textbook a lot and take notes. The online meetings are only helpful if you've read the chapter, as he briefly summarizes it and provides real-life applications of the concepts
Very kind and helpful teacher. Best prof @Langara School of Management
He will teach according to their own presentation but put alot of questions from textbook which are not taught in his class and he will expect your answer from sky not from the text book.
Energetic and interesting class. Lots of in-class activities and discussions. Be prepared to read and study. Highly recommended instructor.
He is a good professor but before taking his class you need to consider to put more effort than usual. To be able to understand the lecture, you must attend every class! His slides won't help and even makes your textbook reading experience more difficulty because of the messy order.
Very easy going prof. The content is interesting, just listen. He won't spoon feed it to you. If you ever have to take Intro to Marketing, make sure to have him as your prof.
His classes are very enterteining.
Great professor. Would recommend
His Marketing Research course is not that hard. Exams are easy too but lots of group work.
Engaging lectures with lots of in-class activities. The content is interesting, but you'll need to put in consistent effort to do well. Unstuck ai was a game-changer for my study prep.
Manish is such a breath of fresh air. He is kind and humble and makes every effort to make learning interesting. In marketing, there are a lot of charismatic teachers. Manish is not one of them, but you will never have to guess how to get a good grade and you will have an honest answer to every question you ask. He is a good man and teacher.
He is a nice person! His lessons can be boring, but I think it is because the course load is boring.
Professor Manish Bhatia is a good instructor for Intro to Marketing, but his grading feels unfair. In group projects, everyone gets the same mark regardless of effort, and exams are heavy. It's tough to score higher than an A-.
avoid this instructor. his lessons are very boring and his grading is unfair.
this instructor surely makes a very interesting topic a painful experience. His lectures are boring and is unfair at grading
The semester was truly engaging from start to finish! Kind prof. Lectures are interactive, and assignments are meaningful rather than just busy work. Highly recommend taking this class if you want a prof who is both knowledgeable and genuinely supportive!
Manish is a super kind and fun prof. He tries to make the course as fun as he can with interesting examples and jokes when lecturing. We even played with legos! His slides are mostly images so take notes on his speaking or read the textbook. Midterms were mix of written answer and multiple choice, final cumulative multiple choice and case study.
