Try taking 601 at least only from him if your schedule permits. A lot of my friends had recommended me to take this class from him, however he was teaching it on a day when I had to be home with my toddler. I still went ahead and registered for his section and hired a baby sitter. It was worth it!

He is an outstanding professor if you are willing to work hard. The class involves a lot of assignments. I would recommend taking the class from him if you do not have a programming background.

Dr. Rege is a great professor. If you're not testing out of 601, I highly recommend taking Java Foundations with him. He's laid back during lecture, but don't think his exams follow suit. I was surprised by the difficulty of the midterm. Whether you really need the book is your call and up to your style. I used it quite a bit.

If you have never done any coding before, I would recommend taking the class only from him. He is very helpful but makes you work really hard. The exams can get tough if you are not keeping up with the assignments. I am told that this class is like the basis for everything else you will learn in this program. I really enjoyed it.

Prof Rege is one of the most encouraging and helpful profs in GPS if you meet w him. That said, his lectures are unenthusiastic and often only last half the class. Most of the learning is hw basedapplied (which is great), but it would be nice if he would use the second half of class to give guided hands-on practice instead of letting everyone go.

Rege was awesome! If you attend class and take good notes and do the practice problems he gives you it really is not all that hard to do well . That being said... seriously do the practice problems. I very much enjoyed Data Analytics and Viz. Probably my only real complaint was that some test questions felt too nitty-gritty and almost unnecessary. However, overall I felt the coursework was manageable, grading fair, and topic interesting/taught to prepare and engage.

Statistics and other concepts for data analysis are certainly not easy subjects to understand. Dr. Rege can really explain these very abstract concepts into something that is understandable. Also, the homework he assigns helps a lot in understanding the concepts, so be sure to do you homework. I feel I learned a lot from his class.

SEIS 632 is about Data Analytics and Visualization using SAS data miner and Tableau. It is a very fun class to take because of the visualization tools that are used in the class. It feels like playing magic to put things together and have some amazing visual presentations. Dr. Rege is also very fun to learn from and I really enjoyed his class.

My class met for 7 hours biweekly. Professor Rege's good nature and use of humor helped keep the class engaged in what can be a very technical subject. Professor Rege is really good teacher. He teaches everything that he expects you to know, and is very respectful and understanding with his students.

If there is one professor I would recommend you take the class from regardless of what class he teaches then hands down it is Dr Rege. He is the best professor in my expereince at St Thomas. This was my second course with him. He is not easy but what you learn did help me land a job. Great for career advice too.

He is nice, simple, and straightforward. He is knowledgable and witty. Class itself was very useful. Tests were based on conceptual knowledge and hw were based on technical skills. Good prof!

Dr.Rege is the best type of professor: Tough but fair. He doesn't just read slides but actually understands the material at a deep level and can explain it in a simple way while applying it to real-world examples. He also has industry knowledge to back it up. The material is dense, so make sure you pay attention and dedicate time outside of class.

This class was harder at the beginning; sometimes his directions are not clear, and then he docks you quite harshly. Otherwise this class is not too bad after the 1st test; I can say that I have learned a lot in taking this course.
