He is a great teacher! I think if you want to get it over with, take his 5 week course. There is not a lot of work required. He gets his point across very well. For once, I actually enjoyed learning about politics.

The teacher is one of the best teacher at GWC.. He's young, I like the way he teach.. is only 5 weeks course.. and is pretty easy.. he will tell you what on the test.. so.. highly recommended.. :)

Clear, concise, and presents the infrastructure of politics in a manner that is actually interesting; I took this class just because it was my last requirement and now I am intrigued by the subject just from his delivery of the basics.

Very Clear. Made a topic that I hated interesting. Take the 5 week course, it goes by faster than you think and if you show up, pay attention, and study your notes its an easy A.

I didn't even care about politics before this class, now I really want to learn more. He is a great teacher. I took his 5 week saturday course and I did not mind waking up early on saturdays at all. i took political science 180 for a 5 week course during spring of 2008, and it was beyond my expectations. although attendance is mandatory, mr.Ontiveros makes his notes and assignments very clear and easy. you'll almost never have to use the book, plus you have tons of extra credit assignments so even if your absent you can still earn points. his

Took 5-wk 1/2-online class last spring. Easy quizzes, just read over the summaries and memorize, easy to get an A. Many chances to get extra credits also. He'll mention some cases which will be asked in quizzes and final, so don't miss any class meeting. Don't have to read through books either. Recommend this excellent teacher to everyone!

Here's the deal... if you are poli major skip this teacher. You need an A that only a dad person couldn't get.... this is your class. This guy will practically give you the answers you need for the final and other tests. You can leave your brain at the door - you dont need it for his teaching ways. He nothing but cold oatmeal. Manny is the coolest Political Science teacher ever. I cannot believe GWC got rid of him. I didn't have to purchase a book or read. His lectures included everything he put on the quizzes and test. As long as you take good notes, attend class, put forth some effort, then you'll definitely pass with a B. I received an A since I wasn't a slacker!

By far the easiest and quickest 8 weeks class that I have ever taken at GWC! His lectures are very clear and understandable. You don't really need the book either. Attendance is not mandatory, but he will give you extra credit if you attend class. Do the weekly quizzes/exams, and homework assignment (one essay per week) then you should get an A!

Great teacher. I actually learned a few things in this class rather than just mindlessly doing the homework as in other classes. As long as you do the homework, and show up for class, easy A. Highly recommend.

Instructor was very informative and made class interesting. The writing assignments were basic; as long as the content is in there you should do fine. He does expect the use of blackboard for online discussions. I really enjoyed government because of him.

I took Prof Manny Ontiveros's 6-week course over this past summer, I have to say this has been one of the best online classes I've ever taken. 5 essays, 5 tests, 1 weekly discussion, 1 final. His work is straight forward and out of the book, we discuss current events on the board. Overall Great Teacher and Fun class, recommended!

Professor Ontiveros is the best professor at Golden West! I took his 8-week Hybrid class and it was the easiest class ever. He talks about what's going on in the world which a lot of professors don't and that's how he makes the class interesting. Easy A and book is not needed.

I took his winter intersession class. At first I was a little scared but his class was so doable! Intersession was four weeks long and we had an essay due every week, a test every week, a final, discussions every week. As long as you do all of those, you will get a good grade. He is a very fair grader! I would totally take him again!

I took a hybrid class. The best professor regarding Political Science courses you can find. He is really reasonable, his lecture is also really interesting. His writing assignments were really helpful, I had to do research to finish them but it helped me understand how American system works. He made a really tough subject not being tough at all.

I took online over summer. 6-week class: 5 3-5pgs essays, 5 quizzes, 5 discussion post +2 responses, and 1 final exam. ALL DO-ABLE. I passed the class with a 98%! Just write the essays and you'll do well. I was afraid I couldn't do it at first, but I totally did it. Self-paced and totally easy peasy! I learned a lot too I love his online class!

Took this 8 week hybrid class and it was not bad. Quizzes are online but final was in class and he preps you up a study guide so you can get prepared for the final. Quizzes answers are on quizlet. Tells a lot of fascinating stories to tie in with his class. Try not to ditch his class since he gives extra credit at random times.

Took the hybrid 8 wk course, met once a week for 3hrs. Worth it. Very passionate and interesting prof. You will get full points for Discussions and Essays as long as you do them. The final is almost 50% of your grade (worth 150 out of 350 total pts) so study. Did all my gov work during my gaps. Very doable.

Prof Ontiveros is the best choice for American Govt. There are five 3-5 page essays in the class (one due every week). Don't worry, he's a very easy grader as long as you meet the basic criteria. There is also a final exam that is very easy as long as you study your notes. Overall, this was one of the easiest/interesting classes I have taken.
