2 mid terms and 1 final. Final is 50% of the grade and the lowest midterm is 15% and the highest midterm 35% of your grade. Multiple choice examinations. Very good professor. He is a methodical teacher is clearand helpful.
He was a good teacher, I didn't do so well but I think it's becaue i didn't bother to read the book. His tests were not easy and they involved a lot of calculations. I would recommend him.
He is a very good professor, lectures and examples in class are helpful. Lets class leave early. Exams do require alot of calculations but not very difficult if you do a little studying. Easy class for corp finance.
A great professor, laid back, understanding towards students, teaches clearly, notes and lectures are very helpful. Makes corporate finance bearable. Tests do have alot of calculations, but not difficult. Very fair grader. 2 midterms and a final. Take him.
Great professor. Really knows the material and is very understanding of students' needs. He isn't by the book so he is flexible. Great professor. You'll learn and won't feel frustrated.
He knows his stuff, but I couldn't do well on his exams. I didn't read the textbook and got a C in the class. I would recommend him only if you have time to read and do practice problems to prepare you for the exam.
Great Teacher. Amazing ability to teach clearly and drive home complicated concepts in finance. An asset to the Department and the College.
Superb professor. Very clear in his teaching. Tests are long but very fair. Strongly recommend him.
This guy made a surprise on the first midterm You have to calculate fast as robot
No Comments
Midterm questions much too long. Explains too fast, to finish class 30-40 min. early. I'm not sure if this is good method of theaching at all.
All that people complain about him are that his exams are too long and involve too many calculations. I feel that the test is very fair if you have studied for it. Is that too much to ask that he expects you to study for the test. He teaches clearly, is very methodical, and answers all the questions asked. He is also respectful of the students.
He is not bad at all. He teaches the most fundamental problems so peoplke tend to get lazy. In the first midterm, he gave out one version of the test and evryone cheated. Second exam, he gave out 4 different versions and he was a hard a** throughout the exam. He is moody but respectable.
Could anyone please contact me to talk about his tests (especially those who took the class and have a good understanding of what is expected from students). Thank you!
good teacher but a real **** when it comes to exams. he plays dumb when test time comes. he pretends he has no clue what's on the test, and doesn't return the scantrons or go over the exam afterwards. on the 2nd midterm there were people who unfairly got points taken off because he screwed up. he's not bad, but i'd rather take a normal teacher
Great Professor. He is able to admit his mistakes. He has put up a revised grade sheet. That is the mark of a very fair man. Students take advantage of professors during exams and try to elicit answers. His policy of playing dumb during exams is therefore appropriate.
Makes finance a very easy topic
High skilled professor who presents concepts in an easy to understand manner. You must really know his work in order to do well. Too bad he does teach more classes at Baruch. Highly recommend him. He really can teach well!
What can I say? All previous comments say it already. Definitely recommended.
He can teach but his test include lots of concept questions yet he only teaches problems in class. Most people from the 2 classes he teaches got his favorite grade of C+, yet he promised to curve. Teaches good but at the end people get screwed with a bad grade
I never complain about professors but this one is horrible. Tests are harder than class material. 3 tests 100% of your grade. Never gives tests back so dont know what you got wrong. Doesn't curve!! average is 65 in class
I thought FIN 3000 was so difficult, then I learned everything from 3000 in 3 weeks from Dalvi. He makes finance easy. There are a lot of examples in class. He shows u how to solve problems using 3 different calculators. 2 midterms total 50%, and a final worth 50%. Midterms weren't hard, lots of calculations. Final more conceptual. Recommended
Great professor. Very knowledgeable. Very understanding and flexible. Great professor to have. I wish he taught all the Finance classes.
ok prof
He hardly ever used a text book. It's up to you whether readin the text book or not,but it will be helpful ,since he does not explained about various concepts and nuts and bolts of the corporate finance. He simply solves few problems in class by using F,calculator. His text is a joke ,but don't forget reading the book for a final.

Great Professor. Explains very clearly. Highly recommend him
He explains everything clearly. You don't ever have to open the textbook. He gives numerous examples in class and provides more than enough study questions with answers. He is also entertaining. I highly recomend him.
Definitely a good professor. He is very clear and gives the best examples for you to be able to understand the material and apply it on the tests. Definitely go to every class even though he doesn't take attendance because all his tests are very similar to the questions he gives in exams. Study the class notes really well and you should do good.
He is a saddist. Sets questionpapers about what he does not teach and never provides the solution. I guess he too does not know the answers. His classes are a big joke. One can actually learn nothing by attending his classes. Oh you can learn 1 thing - how to be malicious. STAY AWAY FROM HIM.
Will test your general understanding and memorization to the limits! 3 exams, last 2 cumulative study your ass off for all 3. Lowest score gets 15%, then second gets 35% and the final is 50%. No attendance or participation is taken into account. If he did not articulate lessons well this would be an easy F. Half of the course expands on FIN 3000
I rcv'd a C- and did not learn much. I guess if you are a Finance major and like it, then he is a good professor for you. Unless you get finance, you need to apply yourself and study for hours. His exams were even challenging for those Finance majors in class. Overall he is a good professor. Don't blame him if YOU screwed up or didn't get an A, sh*t happens
he is a very good professor. good lectures. straight forward. his exams are okay. highest MT grade 35%. lowest MT grade 15%. Final 50%. but if you study and go to class, you get a good grade. he'll go over things you don't understand. just ask. I'm a finance major, and hes a good choice for corp fin. I got a B+
Do not take him!. U'r GPA will suffer bc he loves to give out C's. His exams were hard and his second exam was harder. Im warning you.. take Prof. Wang. He has a better rating and you do learn in his class and if your grades are suffering, he'll give you a chance to do extra credit. Take Wang. Not Dalvi
It is amusing to read that "he loves to give C's". He does not give the grades: you earn the grades. I worked hard and got the grade that I deserved. His exams are very fair and he allows extra time to finish them. He is very explicit in his grading policy and he is under no obligation to allow students "extra credit". Also, he is clear and y
OK. buy the book. Read it. It's an easy book. BUY yourself a GOOD Financial Calculator right off the bat. That's all he uses--not interested in the TI89+. He's very blase. Either likes you or doesn't. If he doesn't, he'll totally dismiss your questions. The hardest part is learning the Financial Calculator, which he doesn't even give you
The comments below is a total nonsense.. He's great. 2 midterms and a final. Easy A's. All exams come from the notes, no book neccessary. No attendance.
Most of these bad comments below are BS! Dalvi is hands down one of the best corp finance profs! He knows his material and can teach it well. The exams are fair; if you take good notes along with a lil studying, you'll def get an A. Be careful, the questions he puts up online are much tougher than actual exam!
hez class is fs..DUN take him or u wanna ruine ur gpa
This prefessor has a bad sense of humor. He tends to repeat a lot. If you have questions outside of class, he is of no help at all. He will mess up your GPA. Don't take him. He thinks he knows everything, but he doesn't he had a student correct him a couple of times in class this past semester. He sucks big time
I dont kno where these ppl come up with him giving xtra time or being helpful. BOLLOCKS. Condescending & pompous, but knows what hes talking about. If he doesnt like u, ur f***ed cuz he wont help or be considerate. its 1 thing 2 earn ur grade, but he is biased, depending on whether he likes u or not.
People what are you talking about?? How can professor be bias on multiple choice exams?? He is good teacher, whatever in class that will be on exams. I opened a book 2 times Easy A if you pay attention in class and don't skip them. He has very good personality even though classes sometimes are borring. Easy, no stragles class.

I went through this rate my professor thing, and I realized that he had the best ratings, and so I made the mistake of taking him. what he teaches in class is on the exam, no doubts about that, the only difference is, he teaches on a kindergarden level and then tests you on a masters level.. Very biased Professor, and I totally agree with the ratin
he was a total waste of time and i agreed with the rating he teaches kindergarden level. exam are some what ok but different versions of exam contain different problem if one group gets easy version other's get difficult. overall not a great professor for finance.
Has a great personality and is very clear in teaching the material. Students do not study and then blame him for their own failures. How can he be biased when the exam is multiple choice? How can he test at the masters level when the same student says that what he teaches appears on the tests?Besides, he gives many practise problems. They help.
This guy is great! He explains all the concepts clearly and does a lot of practice problems. Between the in-class problems and the practice homework problems (not required), there should be no problem getting a good grade on the tests.
THIS IS UNBELIEVABLE,THIS GUY POSTS COMMENTS FOR HIMSELF.. IF U READ THE LAST 3 RATINGS, THEY SING THE SAME SONG.. WHAT A FAKE. TALK TO SOMEONE WHO HAS TAKEN HIS CLASS, AND U'LL KNOW. DONT TAKE HIS CLASS AND THAT IS THE BEST BET.
I'm not sure why others rate him badly. I took his class, and he explains things very clearly and answers student questions. Not a difficult class at all. 2 MT and a Final. Exams are not the easiest but not hard if you understand the concepts. No need to buy the txt book. I ended up with a B-. He is better than others for this class.
screwed up my GPA BIG TIME. i thought he was straight fwd with the concepts he wanted the class to understand and gave enough examples for us to learn the basics...then the exam comes and he'll take us by surprise and test us on a level that required much deeper understanding than all he taught in class.
There are mostly two types of teachers: first ones - who teach well but grade too strictly and the others - who teach badly but give extra points. HE is one of the first group. "Two sides of the same coin!"
He is defenately not fair grader. Two exams - each is 50% of the grade. Only 25 questions per exam. Some of the questions have more than one right answer. I'm very dissapointed in this professor...
He explained the material very well but the test was too difficult. I didn't like the way he answered to the students-very disrespectful. I still think he is one of the better professors to teach this class though. It is a hard class no matter who the professor. He is good at explaining the material. Not the best there could be, but good enough.
Prof had a passion to teach the material, but what he taught was not what he tested on. Final exam was BRUTAL!!! Assigning 3 15-20 page papers during a 5 week summer session (along with a presentation) was just ridiculous!!!
This was my first FIN class ever. This guy made everythink crystle clear. I took this class during summer session. It was very intense, but you can keep up. Midterm and final had no suprises, only what was covered in class. In additin, formula sheet was allowed. Go for it!
Great professor.Only drawback is his exams consist of only 20questions.He gives two extra credit questions on the midterms. The final was worth 50% with only 25questions. Each question made up 2% of ur grade if you do the math.Pay attention in class and you wont get less than a B+.
Exam was nothing what he teaches in the class STAY AWAY
Professor Dalvi teaches crystal clear in the class but the exam are nothing like what he teaches in the class. The exam come from ........don’t know
He does a lot of problems in class and make sure you understand the concepts. I didn't look at the textbook and the practices, redo the problems before exams and understand each concept behind them. I got A on all the exams, it is not difficult at all. He is a great professor.
This professor makes two entirely different exams and its graded on a curve. it's based on luck if you get the easier exam. Unfair grader, really subjective, indian ascent,Hard exams, will screw gpa. please do not take him.
I think that in general he is a good professor; however, I found his exams different from the material he taught in class. You really have to understand the concepts to pass the tests. I got a C-, and I understood everything, but the exams were very tricky. Hard grader and not very flexible.
He is hard but very helpful. I got B+ only because I did bad on the final. You have to study his notes and do all the homework from chapters. 35% for I Midterm, 15% - II Midterm, 50% for the Final. He will switch the grades around for the midterms if you did better in the second one. Take him! Very good!
He teaches pretty well, BUT like the others said, his test is totally different from what he goes over in class. Test is mostly calculation, but you hardly have time to finish it. I thought I understood the concepts and improved enough on my final to do well, but ended up with a C. He said he curves, but I don't really see he does. Overall, HARD!
I agree, he says he curves but I don't see how... He talks so damn loud it's hard to concentrate. His tests are totally different than what he teaches. Don't take him. He doesn't know how to teach. You will end up teaching yourself!
His class is hard. His notes are tidy but nothing to do with the exam. Two mid-terms, one finals. The mid-terms are hard as rock. 22 question with 2 are bonus, believe me you won't get the extra. Since he would increase the difficulties. I used to be an A student. Now I am hoping to get a C. Avoid him if you can. Murphy is the best!!
Want to comment on the person below. They said:"22 question with 2 are bonus, believe me you won't get the extra." How do you not get the extra? If you get 18 correct you will get 18/20 = 90%; but without the bonus you get 18/22 = 81%. So he gives you a bonus of approximately 10% for every test.
OK SO HERE IS THE TRUTH! HIS EXAMS ARE JUST LIKE HIS LECTURE DONT LISTEN TO THE PPL BELOW I NEVER OPENED THE BOOK! HIS EXAMS ARE A LITTLE TRICKY BUT NOT REALLY HE GIVES THE 2 EXTRA QUESTIONS WHICH DO HELP THE FINAL IS 50% BUT STUDY THE PREVIOUS 2 MIDTERMS AND NEW MATERIAL AND YOU CAN ACE IT! NOT A DIFFICULT CLASS AT ALL!
Prof. Dalvi is a crystal clear professor, but on his lectures. Unfortunately, questions on exams are questions from the textbook, which he does not base his lectures off of. I was running a B+ average before the final, but with a 50% weight, I ended up with a C-. Be the judge yourself.
His lectures are very straight forward and to the point. 2 midterms (30% weighted for the higher midterm, 10% for the lower grade) and 50% final. Test questions are similar to the examples he does in class, but there are maybe 4-5 problems per test where you have to read the book to understand them. Also there are 5 one page writing assignments.
Teacher was hard to understand and had very poor review sessions before tests.
One word to discribe this teacher: Hard!! He does give good examples and explain well the class but you need to know the book left and right if u wanna get an A also, cannot belive he doesnt do any reviews... Try to take someone else
the hardest class ever! I had a grate prof. for 3610 and everything was cristal clear, In Dalvi class I don't understand where he comes up with some stuff he had asked on exams. RUN AND DONT LOOK BACK THERE IS PLENTY OF GOOD PROF> OUT THERE THAT ACTUALLY WILL TEACH U VS. STRESS U OUT!
Funny but makes too many mistakes in class.Examples all from book but he still screwed up #'s.Exams r not hard AT ALL if u read book n do questions yourself.Final is relatively harder than 3 MT's so wise to study hard to MT.Five 1-page papers is given as long as u write sth. So,if u can learn by yourself, take him.otherwise,u will get confused.
He makes plenty of misstakes during class and he doesnt even know how to correct them. Instead he lets the class leave early and continue solving the problem next class. If he can't even do the problems right how does he expect us to do it?You will learn nothing in this class. Avoid at all cost!
He is the worst Professor ever. He makes alot of mistakes and does not know how to solve it. Instead he makes jokes and he thinks he is funny. He does not teach anything but his final is hard and accounts for half of your grade. If you can DO NOT TAKE HIM! I did not believe in some of the posts but about him is all true. Bad Professor!!!!
Terrible! Hardly ever taught anything. Killer Final exam that ruined my grade. Taught 60% of what was on the final just the day before the test! DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS
Whiteboards full of notes - useless, not on test. Practice test was the exact same test as the mid term. Final was nothing like the practice test and 100 times harder. One word - Brutal
Not a good professor, because he does very little teaching. He appeared to derive pleasure from the fact that he tricked the students into thinking the final would be similar to his final practice exam. If you want to do well, read the book and take good notes during class.
Please be aware that whatever is written on the board is STRAIGHT from the book. He complains way too much. And i think he takes all his questions from a question bank, which means thatnu better live eat and breathe the text to get a good grade. If you can avoid him, do it!
2 midterms, 1 final. Highest midterm is 35%/50%, and the lowest is 15%/50...final is 50%, and it is CRAZY HARD. Make sure to study later chapters first for the final since it includes those more than anything else even though it is commulative. Word of advice: study notes first, then do all problems he assigns for practice... u will get an A
still dont know how cuny gets these professors. doesn't teach well, doesn't know the answer most of the time, lazy, derives all questions from department, cumulative final and is 50%, never uploads the midterms on bb as promised, doesnt like students who correct him, always makes mistakes, goes over one chapter in like 20 minutes. HORRIBLE.
lazy and doesn't care about his students. he always goes off topic and tries to relate it to the topic to cover up that he doesnt know what to teach, uses one hard problem to demonstrate how to do the entire chapter. worst prof ever, wont provide you help for intermediate classes. take another professor if u can, report him too if u can.
Dalvi is absolutely one of the professors that do not care about his students. Throws examples on the board from textbook which have nothing to do with the exams. He doesn't give reviews before exams. Yes, it's college and you self-teach yourself, but you also need a guide to help you. He doesn't provide you anything.
His grading is weird but I thought his class was extremely fair. As long as you pay attention you can get a good grade. And if you get a 96 or higher on the final he will give you an A no matter what your other test grades were.
Everyone that said that he doesn't know how to teach either took him back when he didn't actually know and he has changed now, or we took different professors. He teaches really well. And his exams are almost EXACTLY what he teaches. Granted, the final was way harder than his first two exams but it was still fair if you know your stuff.
He comes to to class 10 minutes late everyday, doesn't show up to office hours and is totally useless as an instructor. He is so freaking lazy. All he does is throw a bunch of problems on the board then expects us to just know the answer. Don't even get me started on his exams. They are insanely hard and disorganized. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!!!!
2 midterms are easy, but the final kills you !!! Questions all are from Test Bank.
I'm not sure why everyone is saying he's a good professor because he definitely lacks integrity as one. He's about late 90% of the time to class and never comes prepared to lecture, which is quite evident since he always makes mistakes.
Prof. Manoj Dalvi is a true find at Baruch College. He is a great teacher and will explain things without much preparation since he is on top of the materials (has taught this like the drilling the ABCs over and over again for years). You should prepare and do the homework assignments because the tests are so tough that you will need every credit
His midterms are easy. I had A's on both. His final was insane, literally was geared towards the last few chapters (which he rushed through). Cumulative? My ass. I ended up with a B cause his final was impossible.
He's the Jar-Jar Binks of professors...
Great and knowledgeable professor. Material is dry, so definitely read the textbook to prepare for the exams. 2 midterms and 1 final. Midterms were not difficult, but the final was challenging, but fair.
Don't take his class! In the beginning of this semester, this professor said there would be extra credits. However, it turned out the so-called "extra-credit" project makes up 5% of the final score, and 2 mins and 1 final make up another 95%. There are no extra credits at all. In addition, the final exam was extremely tough compared to two mids.
Take him becuase there are many profs in baruch does not allow students to ask questions. He is clear in everything grading, teaching.
His exams are very hard especially the final . Had an 'A' average prior to the final but ended up with a C because his final was insane. Would not recommend
"This guy is the Jar Jar Binks of professors." 6 Homeworks, 2 midterms, final. Terrible at communicating material, each lecture has typos and often gets into discussions about sports and other irrelevant material. Comes to class late and lets it out early. You're on your own.
Two easy midterms, but the final is insanely hard. 50% of your grade is derived from the final too.
If you have a chance, DO NOT take this prof. He doesn't put the slightest effort into teaching. He's always late to class and leaves early. I have learned absolutely nothing. 2 Midterms are okay but you need to work for them. DO NOT depend on his material to help you pass the class. Studying textbook is way more useful than listening to his lecture
Not a good professor. Avoid him if you can. In my opinion, he is not good in imparting knowledge of the course. He will give numerous jokes in class and crushes you with an exam filled with questions on topics not discussed in class. He uses computers to score candidates on his course leaving no room for points on discretion.
Definitely hard teacher, but I was much better prepared for my 3610 and 3710 classes compared to my peers because of Dalvi's methods. He teachers calculator skills other teachers don't that will save you down the road. Definitely, recommend. You'll work, but you'll have a really good understanding of the material.
The grade is based on two midterms and the final. No homework, but the problem solutions he puts up helps when studying for the exams. If you don't have a finance background, the textbook will help give context (older edition ok) but his slides are really good/comprehensive. There is a extra credit CAPM group project.
First mid is very easy and simple, the 2nd mid is fair, class avg was 14/25. His final was just insane
Great lecturer. 2 midterm, 1 final exam each 25Q. Final was stupid tough. He picked at least one of the hardest questions out of each cumulative chapters that takes 20minutes to do each. He says the final is cumulative but most of the questions were from end of the class chapters.
Don't take him if you want a good grade. He intentionally gives nothing to practice with other than homeworks that are huge and confusing. The questions on the slides are nothing like the exams where he picks the absolute most difficult questions.
He is tough. But he is also good at explaining subject matter. He gives fair and clear test guidance. Nothing on the test was outside of what he explained in the class/was on his slides. Looking forward to take 4610 with him
Does not teach. Students only come for attendance. Exams are hard, no TB. Uses hardest problems
Long Connect HWs. Does not teach. Just reads off slides and speeds through. You are on your own for exams. Gives a review sheet for exam but exams are way harder than the review.
get the test bank and dont even show up. sarcastic professor with DOZENS of mistakes and typos in EACH powerpoint slide. Since alot of the stuff is math, one typo can mess you up. Had the whole class cconfused. Made no effort to correct. Take someone else.
Is FIN3000 a hard class? Yes. It's difficult and tests won't be a walk in the park. That being said, Dalvi prepared me extremely well for FIN3610 and FIN3710. He's a great teacher. And an A is VERY OBTAINABLE if you study for a bit.
This guy is awful. I'll never know where Baruch gets their professors. He tries to make jokes that just take away from the fact that he doesn't have any idea on how to teach other people. He goes so fast you can't even write down a line before he skips to the next slide and leaves everyone behind. He doesn't even let you print out the PPs ffs.
he is terrible. I don't understand why Baruch has so many bad professors like him. he isn't the only one. go to nyu instead
He's a good guy and he means well. I don't know why he makes the tests so hard though. The final is probably one of the hardest in the whole school and he knows it. Not necessary. Take only if you love studying for hours upon hours.
He gave us a 50 question final, almost all questions needed to be solved in 2 hours. He didn't allow us to skip questions. I emailed him regarding the difficulty of the final and he didn't respond. He loves to talk about jackson heights and the rich not paying enough taxes. His idols are indian billionaires. If you like all that take him.
Listen, he's a cool prof. But, let me tell you, his final was impossible. The two midterms are manageable but that final is out of this world, and it's half your grade. I had his class during this pandemic. The final was 50 ques. in 2 hrs and each ques. would take like 20 mins to solve(half multiple choice & half short answers). IT WAS HORRIBLE!!!
Do not take his class unless you dont have any other option. Rude to students. Wastes alot of time in class making errors on excel and students need to help him out. Gets tight when someone asks questions. Never on time for class. Never ready to take feedback. Exams are short timed and students have to rush to finish. Devastating experience.
AVOID HIM AT ALL COST!! We all are taking online classes. Saying this, this professor is still trying to figure out how to use the online platform. He has many errors in his materials and will confuse you more than he is. He doesn't understand many concepts, and if you ask him, he'll ignore you. You'll learn by studying on your own.
ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE professor. Is never prepared for class, does not adequately explain solutions, elaborates for a long time on topics not tested and then breezes over topics that are tested. Office hours are useless because he doesn't know how to explain. Students have to learn by themselves. Tests are ridiculously hard, many failed, high was 80
Absolutely terrible professor. During class he makes tons of mistakes, needs students to help him out all the time. Probably less than five people in the class can understand what's going on. He purposely makes the tests impossibly difficult and gives you almost nothing to study from. Tbh I think he gets a thrill from seeing his students suffer.
He is okay with explanation and everything but he is a tough grader and his exams are very hard. He is making his own questions. If you are looking for an easy grader and an easy A, then he is not for you. Your grade will suffer but you might learn a lot since you are going to study.
DO NOT TAKE THIS PROFESSOR. Worst teacher I had in my life since kindergarten (I'm almost in my 30s). Cannot explain at all, his exams are ridiculously hard, cumulative final that is 50 questions long and is 50% (HALF) of your final grade. Class average for midterm? 50. Out of 100. NEVER TAKE THIS PROF EVEN IF HE IS THE ONLY ONE. AVOID AT ALL COST
You will learn nothing in his class, instead you will teach him more like how to navigate excel and solve problems with formulas. He is also the most disrespectful person I've ever come across. He cannot take any feedback and will interrupt and try to avoid you when you try to hold him accountable. DO NOT TAKE HIS CLASS. Class is designed to fail u
20 minutes for 50 questions (3min each) that takes a lot of math to solve!! His only excuse is "That's what my colleagues are doing". We students complained to the department about him because 100 questions in 30 mins for finals is just designed to fail the students. Jesus. Baruch is really cheap and greedy, and so are their professors like Dalvi.
Oh my, please do not take this professor. Idk what those good ratings are talking about it does not get worse than this professor. Many mistakes in his powerpoints. He is very rude. The final (50%) ? Forget about it .. INSANE. Please just listen to the reviews. Really accurate. If you have no choice and have to take him? good luck but WeAreNotLying
Please avoid this class at all costs! the test is Extremely Heavyyyyyy.
AVOID AT ALL COSTS. One of the worst professors I've had at Baruch & he made learning online extremely difficult. Midterm, 50% final, 4 quizzes & HW. Tests were so hard, nothing similar to his problems or hw. Midterm was an average of 55%. He had to curve like crazy in order for people not to fail. Literally DO NOT take him
The worse professor i have taken. He not care about the students. Prof dalvi Does not give extra credits, he refuses to ask question when ask about exams or quizes or his grading standards. He refused to reveal our quizzes questions because his colleagues said that they were not showing it. He was also disrespectful awful. Bad at explaining.
I don't complain about teachers here, but I want to warn people to NOT TAKE HIM!! He is rude and cannot teach, his quizzes and exams need more time and he does not go over the material. He compares himself to his colleagues. Class midterm & final AVG was a 50+ . He does curve tho, but it was not worth staying in class and the 50s. 20 ppl dropped
This professor is out to get you, AVOID AT ALL COSTS. He cannot explain the material at all, blatantly ignores a ton of questions, gives tests that the vast majority fails, provides examples and homework that are unrelated to the test questions, claims people are cheating even when there is no evidence to back it up- hopefully you get the picture.
I took my first finance class with Professor Dalvi and stayed up until 12am when class registration opened up so that I could sign up for my second finance class with him. He does a lot to make sure everyone is on track. In FIN11, a fin calculator is crucial. His tests can be a little difficult but overall they are pretty fair in my opinion.
I was hesitant at first to take Prof. Dalvi going through all the reviews but I had to take him anyway because the class schedule was perfect. I must say it was my right decision choosing him. He explained the subject matter very well and was ready to repeat if anyone had confusions. If you really want to learn FINANCE, take him.
he is average how ever his exams are easy but they come from the test bank also his final is 50%.
