This is one of those classes that you sometimes do not want to leave when its time too.He is one of the best or the best I've had in Miami Dade. Life changing class. I took him for ENC 1101 in the fall and am now taking him for ENC1102. He's blind but it makes the class all the more amazing. You learn alot, especially MLA format. Don't be absent or he will drop you, no textbook necessary. Just write notes and ask questions. You'll leave wishing he taught every English class in MDC.

He is not only the biggest dissapointed but extremely hypocritical. I took him for ENC1101 and i received an A average. It took a month for him to re-consider checking a paper in ENC1102 even begging. The only people who get far in his classes are his favorite students. Make sure to use dumb down vocabulary and to state the obvious in your papers.

im taking him for summer and hes an awesome teacher... he reads stories that will capture your attention. the first assignment was a 1 pg writting assignment as a woman from an era he taught. got an A+. he says bad words every now and then and he loves it when you speak up. the research paper is so easy he tells you EVERYTHING step by step.

Duasso's ENC 1101 class was amazing. He was very helpful, explains everything he wants to the T, and is a very funny and likeable teacher. His class is easy as long as you pay attention, don't talk or text in class, and have good attendance.

He is an AMAZING professor! He get's a little grumpy at times, but overall he's great. He's extremely helpful and explains concepts, etc. very clearly. You only have to write 2 papers, maybe 3. No tests! Plus, he's HILARIOUS! His assistant is very helpful aswell.

He's a very good teacher. If you follow all of his instructions for the essays you will get an A for sure. Just make sure you don't miss class because he is always teaching something new that you will need for the essay. There are no tests in this class only 2 essays.

Professor Duasso was a good professor but I didn't think he lived up to the hype here. He can come on a little strong but he just wants respect and for students to participate. You'll only receive 3 essays and the book isn't required. I only did 2 out of the 3 essays and still got a B! The thing I COULDN'T stand was his assistant Peter, hated him!

ive had duasso for 3 semesters now. . i took lit2480 cause it replaces speech and i thought it would be a breeze because of duasso. is really not. its a lot of work and the whole semester is one big research project on a sub culture. if you want the A just take speech. i got an A but it took a lot of work. it was also very interesting.

He's nice. He cares about what he teaches but how he teaches it isn't really interesting, he mainly uses really cheesy metaphors to help teach how to write a paper. Prof. Duasso was my professor 23 years ago. I learned so much from him, not just how to read and write but also about life. I was inspired by him. Although I majored in math, I still think of him as one my best professors throughout my college years, undergrad and graduate school. Simply the best! One word to describe Duasso, would be different. He's very passionate about the class. The way he grades his work is a little bit weird. It's like based off correct punctuation and grammar and then feeling. Like how much passion you put into your writing. If you like a more standard, direct professor. Duasso isn't for you. Easy A if you try . He knows what he's doing You get about 3 assignments but he walks you through all of them. No test. No finals. no quizzes . I took him in Fall16 For English1 we had 1 personal paper 1 researc paper and 1 paper about a documentary. In Spr17 for Eng2 we had to do 4 small 1 page papers super easy and 1 YouTube informational or explain how to do something (how to work out you Quads or How to change your cars brakes) video 3-6mins long. Super simple straight forward class.

Mister Duasso takes you step by step in every assignment. He helps you in class if you participate (which is worth 10% of your grade) and in his office hours. Attendance and tardiness are important to him. You don't need the book for 1101, and I will definitively take him again for 1102 in the summer.

One of my favorite professors at mdc. Had him for enc1101 and took his class again for enc1102. Hes goes over everything and is very descriptive about every assignment. Hes strict on attendance which shouldnt be a problem since his class is once a week and about phones but his class is so entertaining that theres no need to use your phone.

Professor Manuel Duasso is a helpful teacher that cares about his students writing. He explains the assignments in great detail and provides the class a fair amount of time to complete the assignment. I LOVE THIS PROFESSOR SO MUCH. 10/10 THIS IS AMAZING.

His class is solely based on a couple of papers, he teaches you his format very clearly and answers any questions you have. Do not do them last minute! He gives you WEEKS to do them. He also replies quickly when messaging him, so you can go back and forth if you have questions. His assistant Daniel was super sweet, and helpful as well!

Good teacher, has office hours and helps you write your essays for you. Also if you volunteer he uses and checks your essays in class, and basically sets them up for you.

LOVE THIS PROF! I took him twice my freshmen year, and for this course, he sees writing as an outlet, almost like a form of therapy. It was fun just word vomiting sometimes as he enjoys detail. He gives clear instructions, and useful feedback. I also gotta give credit to his assistant, Daniel. Super nice & smart guy! Take this class!!

Professor Duasso's ENC1101 class is well-structured with clear expectations. The assignments, although challenging, are manageable with proper time management. Unstuckstudy AI and the provided textbook resources are helpful supplements.

Professor Duasso is an outstanding teacher who makes his lessons enjoyable and engaging. He often adds humor and shares his unique perspectives, making the material more relatable. The only minor drawback is that he's quite meticulous when it comes to writing. However, he does offer opportunities to correct any mistakes on your papers.

Professor Duasso was the best English teacher I've ever had. He cares so much about everyone in his class and you can tell he really does love what he does. You do have to do around 3 essays in this class but you have a good amount of time & you can really make them your own. If your considering taking this class do it!!

He really is an inspiration to me, his lectures were informative and interesting. The papers assigned were also some of my favorites I've ever written. Take his class if you want to put your own creativity to work.

Very Interesting at time with his lectures. Attendance is mandatory but he cancels class often so it really adds up to really not even being there at times. There are 4 assignments in this entire course all papers you have to write, each progressively weighs more than the next. If you just put a bit of care into them he'll be sure to give you an A.

Good teaching

Professor Duasso, is one of the best Professors I have had at MDC. He is super kind, compassionate, and genuinely cares about his students. Attendance is mandatory and participation does count towards your final grade. We had no midterm or final, and 4 papers throughout the semester. They were interesting topics to write about. TAKE THE CLASS

So chill and easy you'd lowkey have to be slow to fail this class ngl.

Professor Duasso has great lectures and they are really motivational and interesting i would 100% take his class again.

Amazing Professor! He really does give great feed back, and gives you many opportunities for editing before the papers are due. If you show up to class and complete and turn in drafts on time you are guaranteed to pass.

I like how Professor Duasso is very motivated to teach us different writing styles for different papers. The only downside about his class is his required class attendance. He is open to helping students with papers during office hours by text or in person. The writing lab inside MDC is available with great tutors for any help on any papers.

he's actually HILARIOUS, super chill, and he makes you comfortable to ask questions. you have to write papers about the topics/stories given and he lets you volunteer to read your paper out loud as an example for other students, if not you can just turn it in. attendance is mandatory so just don't skip class and don't walk in super late :-)

I highly recommend taking his class! he's a helpful and funny teacher. If you're struggling, he is always willing to help anyone in the class. The only grades are 4 main papers but they are not to bad if you don't like to write.
