Professor Gerakios is a great professor for this subject. He makes the class fun to go to because of his jokes. He really does a great job explaining the material and also includes stories to help you remember formulas as well. I recommend anyone to choose Professor Gerakios as their instructor.

So, math, who likes it? Not many, I stopped going to SPC Clearwater campus a few years ago, cause the professors sucked, and the campus as a whole needs some serious improvements, now cause of professor EMANUEL GERAKIOS, I am proud to say I firmly have a grip on math, and will not take math with any other teacher, cause the way he teaches is great

the proffesor's teaching style really worked for the way i learn, he used great examples and wanted everyone to pass his class.

Math was never my strongest subject, but professor Gerakios made is possible for me to understand this class. After every class he uploads the notes we took in class for his students to look back to which I found helpfully. He always has stories to tell which made the class more interesting and fun. I would definitely take another class with him.

When I send him an email he will respond quickly and he does lecture very well. I would definetly take him again. I realized towards the end of the semester that I didn't need this course so I withdrew from it.

Aleks is tough and time consuming but it helped me get farther and understand more than I did in high school on the same subjects.

Theres no other math teacher like him. He cares for his students, and he will do anything to help you pass and move forward. Its not easy, you have to put in the work and show up to class. I promise, by taking Gerakios class you will learn and pass Algebra.

I took this class twice prior before taking the class with professor Gerakios. He responses to emails are usually the same day or the next day, when you ask him a question he gives you a detailed explanation. Make sure you dedicate the hours in Aleks, study, and ask questions if you need to. My final grade was a B :-)

He was amazing. Math is my weakest, yet he gave me the motivation and the push to fight through. Ill never forget him, and if you see his name and hes a professor for the class, by all means; choose him. He grade in individuality and he cares about each student and their progress. He goes the extra mile and talk to you with so much passion.

I had a great semester with Professor Gerakios! I took him through a 10-week summer term, so it was more advanced per se, but it is manageable if you put in the effort. He takes the time to go over several examples and problems found in homework/quizzes. Very helpful and caring! If I didn't have two jobs on top of this class, I could've gotten an A

This professor was very attentive and positive throughout the semester. Even when I was worried about my grade, he reassured me of ways to do well the rest of the time. I struggle with math horribly, I always have. While I ultimately ended up dropping this class I will be rescheduling it and will be 100% using Professor Gerakios again. This is hands down the best professor I have had. He has gone above and beyond to try to help, and I don't have enough character space to say how fantastic he is.

He is a pretty good professor. He tends to over explain things, which can help a lot of people. He gives plenty of resources to help study for the midterm and final. His lectures are pretty long but if you take good notes they are helpful.

He was thorough. I took the class online so most of my work was through MML but he does provide his lecture notes from his face-to-face classes which helps when MML can only go so far.

I hate math, I just don't get it, and my slate is wiped clean after an hour of not thinking about it, but I passed with a B! He was very accessible and encouraging. By far one of my favorite professors! Before this course, I was very bitter toward math, but he made every class fun and made sure everyone understood the material! Amazing! He moves through material quickly, but checks in frequently to make sure nobody is left behind. He is always willing to explain things multiple different ways until it makes sense. You have to keep up with homework and attend class, but no more than any other math class. I was never good at math (C average) but got an A in his class.

Make sure you attend all classes, participate in class, have a good attitude and you will be rewarded. He cares about your grades.

This Professor is a great teacher. He meets you where you are and helps to bring you to where you need to be. The online Aleck program was really good. I really liked using that tool for math class.

I really struggle in math and before the corona virus he made his self available for me to be able to come to his campus and personally receive help from him. Unfortunately corona virus happened and it really effected anyone being able to meet up but anytime i called and left a message on his phone he returned my call back. Was present and caring

I was nervous to take this class as I am not great at math. All the expectations and assignment due dates are clearly listed on his Syllabus. He gives encouraging feedback and offers final exam study sessions. I did well in the class and so will you if you just follow and keep up with what you need to do. It was easy at that start and it got harder towards the end but I really learned a lot of new things and it was great!

He goes above and beyond to a level that he simply doesn't have to do, but he chooses to go above what is required of him to help his students. I am only just starting college but he seems to be the only professor I have had that actually cares. I have special 504 accommodations and he really worked with me where as other profs weren't so kind.

Professor Gerakios deeply cares about your success! He takes the time to explain things step by step which always makes it very easy to follow! He is always more than happy to help you with whatever that you need. Math had always been my weakness for so many years but thanks to him, I was finally able to learn the basics!

Taking math online can be challenging, and I don't think Professor Gerakios does anything to make it either more or less difficult. You definitely have to take responsibility for reading through the textbook and practicing before homework assignments and quizzes/tests as it's not assigned. The exams are short so it's important to know everything.

Taking his class made me feel like i understood math for the first time in my life and that i can pursue a major in science without the fear of mathematics. If math was more often taught with its meaning and consideration for the students like its taught by professor Gerakios no students would be anxious. I couldn't' recommend his class more.

Prof. Gerakios is a caring and in depth man who not only cares about the grades of his students but also the home lives. he makes a math course very enjoyable and does not just spew words and then grade you based off of your retention of the information he actually explains and goes above and beyond with having a whole youtube that goes in depth.

I am originally from Poland, I came to the United States when I was 17 years old. I decided to go back to school when I turned 40. I was never good at math and I waited until almost the very end to take math classes, if I knew how amazing professor Gerakios is, I would sign up for math classes much sooner. He cares and wants students to succeed!

I have always struggled with math. I will admit, I was worried about this class. However, after meeting Prof Gerakios, I realized that I'd be okay. Prof. Gerakios is my favorite professor I have had yet at SPC. He makes class and math fun and truly cares about the well being of his students even outside of class. Summer classes were long but he really helped keep me engaged in math which is the hardest subject for me and helped me succeed. Prof. Gerakios made math fun and not seem so serious.

Professor G is funny, kind, and supportive. He explains the concepts very well, almost like math layman's terms. He's such an awesome professor that I want to take his next math class though it's not needed for the career path I'm on. He's definitely made my first semester in SPC a very positive experience. One of the best, if not the best math teacher I've ever had. Math is my worst subject and this was my second time taking this class. He made everything so easy to understand and if you have any questions he would make sure you understand what you asked about before continuing. Goes above and beyond most professors. Professor Gerakios really breaks down math, like REALLY breaks it down. He is helpful and is always available to talk. He does show up either a couple minutes late or right on time but he is very nice and his class was fun and easy. I would recommend anyone to take math with Professor Gerakios, I am going to miss this class.

Prof. Gerakios is a very kind and very funny professor. He is very thorough with doing math problems but during a 1hr 15 minute class, we would usually only finish 3-4 problems. I would often have to teach myself some of the parts of a chapter. There are only 8 modules but there are 11 tests including Midterm and Final.

Professor Gerakios is absolutely great! Although I took this class online he always responded and used his office hours to teach those who needed extra help. You really need to take notes and use all of the resources given even if you are already good at algebra, this will just ensure a way better grade. I highly recommend taking his class!

He is truly passionate about Mathematics as a subject as well as teaching it, which is a rare quality in a professor. Professor Gerakios was an amazing professor. As long as you communicated with him any situations that may have come up he is very understanding. The work load seems like it is a lot, but you have plenty of time to get the work done. He is by far one of the best Math professors and I will be taking his class in my next level of math.

This professor is patient and does his best to make sure everyone's is on the same page. Personally I'd say he is a fair grader and gives good lectures. Though he is takes a couple days to respond to emails. Communication and feed back between other students is encouraged. The class also has online homework that must be taken care of.

I really enjoyed having him as a professor, you can tell he really cares about his students and wants to help them. He gave us a list of assignments at the beginning of the semester with all the due dates and has all the lecture notes posted in case you miss a class. Just don't leave your work until the last minute.

although attendance is mandatory and counted towards your grade, he is lenient as long as you are participating and send emails regarding absences. He explains things thoroughly and responds within 2 days for emails. I would have signed up for his class for my current math class if he was available

Great professor! Very thorough but sometimes too much, to the point it's confusing. He will explain more after class if you ask. Lectures can be intense: sometimes only 3-4 problems worked through in one class. Enjoyable personality :) Unit tests can be hard to study for, midterm/final has practice tests that are the same with diff. numbers.

Mr. Gerakios was an amazing professor. He truly cares about his students and wants them to genuinely learn the material. There is a good amount of work, but it is not impossible to stay on top of. I would highly recommend his class to any entry level math student, and would love to take another one of his classes in the future.

This professor is so far one of a kind that I have had the pleasure of taking his class. In this I mean that he genuinely cares about the students and pushes them to succeed. He takes the time to answer any and all questions and yet lets the students also know what is expected of them.

He was overall a great professor, sometimes might over explain things but if you struggle in math then its helpful, I did find myself to get a little bored in class at times. He does genuinely care about each of his students success and I would 100% recommend him. He offers more than enough for you to be successful in his class.

As someone who never saw myself as being able to do well at math I had low expectations, I've never been happier to be wrong. Professor Gerakios blew all of my worries out of the water and helped me see I was a lot better at the subject than I was lead to believe. If you struggle with math he's the way to go. Math doesnt have to be hard.

Great professor! I took a summer semester which is fast paced, so being able to actually understand the work is due to professor Gerakios's extremely thorough lectures. The effort he puts out for his students to succeed is admirable, I recommend him to anyone that has to take anything he teaches.

It was amazing being in Prof. Gerakios class. I did live online. you got called on to make sure you were paying attention in class. He always answered questions, always made sure to go over whatever someone was struggling with first, and he was funny. he kept you engaged in class. If he wasn't in far from me I would take his class again.

I took him for an online/no-zoom class. There was a lot of work to do but he explains his expectations clearly and the ALEKS program was extremely easy to navigate, which made the work easier. Honorlocked mid-term and final, but have ample time to complete work. I would recommend taking him. I wish I took his class in person.

Take developmental math if its been awhile since you've been in school or need a high school refresh. The class has lots of assignments but its easy to follow. He uses the Alexs program. His lectures are extremely in depth. He is always available if you need help. He is a kind person as well.

He's a kind teacher. I did a dual course with Pre-Algebra Lab + Algebra since I had to get the Pre-Alg credit. It was thankfully easy compared to the Algebra class, so it was a nice break.

Most of this class is alot of online math modules! The modules help alot tho if you let it. Prof. Gerakios seems like a caring and vibrant personality over email if you have questions.

Very easy class, especially if you're very behind in math like I was. Professor Gerakios offers tutor hours incase you need the extra help. There isn't much homework, 8 modules and you have 2 weeks for each module. Each module includes learning math in ALEKS, ALEKS Quiz, Discussion, and a very easy written math assignment based on what you learned.

Professor Gerakios is one of the best professors I have had. He takes time to show every single step to a problem which although does take a lot of time, it really helps if you struggle with a problem. He is also very friendly and easy to reach. Would 100% recommend. Passing his class is no problem as long as you attend class and pay attention.

No complaints whatsoever! He is extremely clear on every assignment with details & due dates! Just enough homework to get you to understand material. Always answers questions well, never makes you feel stupid. Amazing techniques of explaining and helping to memorize formulas. The best professors to have to teach

Aleks can be very tricky, just have to be sure to do your best and work ahead to not fall behind. Midterm and final is Honorlock so be sure to study study study and get your formulas down pack. midterm no calculator. Final only can use 6 function calculator only.

Professor Gerakios has clear outlines and a wonderful set up for the course. Its easy to manage and he is always accessible through email and gets back to you quickly. He also gives feedback to help on the upcoming material.

This was a very easy course. All you do is the math assigned, discussions, and pre-quiz check-up questions. All very easy and I was able to manage it all well.

Very encouraging, friendly and helpful

I failed this class originally, years ago with a different professor. This time I passed with a B! You just have to make sure you complete homework, use the online textbook or the information and examples provided by Prof. Gerakios if you get stuck, and complete the quiz for each assignment. Prof. Gerakios is very kind and helpful.

Professor Gerakios is amazing and truly cares about his students. Everything that was expected as a student in his class was explained in detail, and he was always responsive for any help that was needed. All of his lectures were also super funny and positive. Would totally recommend!

Professor G is awesome. I previously took this class in Fall 2021 and failed with a F. This time when I took it with Professor G, I got an A. His lectures are amazing. He works different problems formatted differently. He is always available for office hours. Take this Professor if you take this course at the Tarpon campus. You won't doubt it.

Great professor. I struggle with math, specifically algebra. He made it easy to understand. The class has recorded tests where you must use your webcam. You still need to apply yourself to pass but it was much easier with a professor who really cares.

Professor Gerakios was extremely helpful and genuinely seemed to want his students to succeed in the class. I struggled with a particular portion of the class and we went out of his way to send me more lectures and information to help me!

I took Professor Gerakios' class for intermediate algebra. Math was always my hardest subject and I struggled in the beginning but he really helped me turn it around by taking the time to explain the little stuff and coming up with new ways to remember formulas and how to approach equations. I highly recommend his class

He teaches well and efficiently but has a few unique methods that I had to learn but once I learned them it wasn't a bad class. Study a lot for units 6 and 5 though because the review time was short the homework and practice tests are a massive help in this class and will carry you.

Honestly, Professor Gerakios is very nice and teaches well. However, he does tend to go off-topic, particularly on strange topics. For example, one time he told the class that if your parents get mad at you for not taking out the trash, they do not love you. Honestly, I have no clue what that has to do with math but he is overall very good.

Professor Gerakios was a wonderful teacher. Although his lectures were a tad bit boring he always explained everything with detail showing every step. He did not give a lot of homework it was more of he gave a lot of questions but gave enough time to complete. Definitely recommend him.

Teacher is awesome take him for math, his examples and notes that he gives definitely help with the homework and quizzes and test. he grades Quickley and will even send you example problems if you need help. teacher made me like math again.

Truly cares about his students.

I didn't do well in this class due to other school work going on, which is my own fault. But he emailed me to let me know he pushed my grade as much as ethically possible and was very understanding. He let me know I was welcome to come by his class and receive help or advice if needed, and was respectful with my choices.

Professor Gerakios works hard at his job to make sure his students are successful. He is an open book type of professor which makes going to class better for students. Also, he gives great feedback to your questions and makes it clear what needs to be done and how. I would take another course of his and recommend him to other students.

I like how we go over the homework questions in class and how we go over test reviews. I feel like the class overall was good and I was able to manage the work well because it wasn't excessive.

Amazing professor who cares about students success. I was out of the country for the last 2 weeks of class and he opened all remaining assignments early to accommodate. Attendance for zoom meetings is mandatory. All assignment due dates are given in advanced and reminders are given during class as well. 1-2 hw assignments weekly and only 2 tests.

He is lenient when it comes to late assignments just email him and he has clear expectations and due dates which I appreciate so I can plan accordingly and not have to worry about any sudden changes. He gives you plenty of time to complete your work and is once again super understanding when it comes to the student having a life outside of school.

I really enjoyed getting taught by Mr.Gerakios, he is very kind and he brings good feedback and help when I need it. He is very encouraging and teaches math in a way that is not too difficult to understand along with making easy steps to finish math problems. His class is pretty easy nothing crazy. Each week is one homework assignment which he does the questions with you in class and one quiz per week. 2 proctored tests and 1 proctored final exams. Funny and nice professor and not mean at all. He even dropped the lowest proctored test grade u had which are about 20-25% of your grade.

I have never been a very good math student but Professor Gerakios pointed out great tools to use such as tutors. He truly cares about your success and making sure you pass if you put in the time and effort. Most math courses are going to be the same because of aleks blame the program if it leaves a sour taste not the professor.

I highly recommend Professor Gerakios. He baby steps writing out every problem, with everything being color coded, making it hard to get lost. This was the best Math teacher I've ever had. In the past I've struggled with this subject, but he made everything so clear. I've never left a Math class being so confident in my abilities until now.

Professor Garakios was perfect for me on this online class. Math is not my favorite subject, but his lesson plans and course work made it less challenging to perform. He was always available for feedback even though it was an online course.

Professor Manuel Gerakios was my first math professor I am by far grateful. I had the opportunity to be in his class; he cares very deeply for his students, and you can tell he loves what he does. He's also a very good mentor as well and a very down-to-earth man, very respectable to say the least. I think many professors should learn from him!

Prof. Gerakios is very kind and respectful, but his ways of teaching were not for me. For anyone who needs more hands-on learning and fast paced lectures might not enjoy this class. While not a criticism, he would sometimes spend an entire class period on two problems which did not help me learn. He is also VERY strict on paying attention.

He explains problems the class percentage struggles with clarifying how to solve each problem with color coating. His class made me which helped algebra basics more, especially with showing how to solve math problems I previously struggled on. All assignments will be online including tests.

Really liked this professor. Although I am a more hands on learner, I really understood this class. He uses ALEKS for homework and tests and it explains each chapter really well. All of the chapter quizzes and the exams are online. There is no midterm. Professor Gerakios seems like he genuinely cares about his students and enjoys teaching.

Easy course, Easy professor, I had no problems throughout the semester.

Professor Gerakios was easy to speak with, answered questions quickly, and was very helpful. Assignments were done through Aleks and had 3 proctored tests. I enjoyed that he did not make it necessary to hit a certain amount of hours a week in Aleks and he gave us a lot of time to complete each module in the 16 week course.

I took the online option for this course because of scheduling conflicts and it was ultimately a good decision, I would however recommend that if you are not a self directed learner and struggle to learn without a lecture too take this class in person, I've heard from other students taking this class in person that he goes into good detail for work

The class can be difficult at times but if you put in the work, you will pass and Professor Gerakios is always willing to help! He genuinely cares about his students and is not like any other ordinary educator. I highly recommend taking him for your math courses.
