He's a very helpful teacher. He explains things very clearly. He provides a lot of study sessions before the test and for the finals. He's is willing to answer you're questions if you have any.

This teacher taught at my high school before he started at cerritos and i absolutely loved the class...He's so clear and very respectful of all students, and funny as hell! I would take his class anytime i could!

I have never met a professor that actually puts his students above his own life. He will go to the extent of giving Friday/Saturday review sessions before every exam, if he sees that the class as a whole will benefit from it. Calc2 is not easy, but if you do your hw and study, you'll get an A 4 sure

This guy was one of the best teachers I've ever had. He goes at a good pace, and is very helpful towards his students. His practice tests are also invaluable, and really help you study for the tests.

What an awesome teacher! And a really nice guy. Summer school means lots of homework in a short time period. But if you take Mr Lopez, you won't regret it. He explains things very clearly and is very helpful if you happen to have questions. Oh, almost forgot...his Practice Tests will really help you out come test time if you study it.

Im sorry but to the last posting, Mr. Lopez is now remotely close to a bad teacher...How can anyone say that about him? Lopez is amazingly brilliant and he teaches in a way that is less confusing for us students...Yes Math 190 was difficult but he tried so hard to help us by scheduling individual study sessions...so awesome!

Mr. Lopez is very helpful with the classroom assignments and the homework. He lets you ask questions til you understand. He doesn't leave anyone behind. I now like math and I would definetely take him again.

He explains concepts VERY clearly, and takes the time to go over things. It's an easy A as long as you do the work. the only thing is he really dumbs down everything, so if you're a math person you might want to challenge yourself with a different prof bc this class is really slow paced.

Awesome teacher! Not always the most entertaining, but he ensures that everyone is on board with the material. Loves his subject and will try his best to help you appreciate it too. Tests are basically the homework. Know the homework, and you know the test. Homework is everyday. Not too bad though. Will let you out late most days. Always shows up.

Very helpful teacher, but the class at times seemed like a mood killer. If you're not good at math to begin with, I wouldn't recommend this teacher unless you're there for every minute of every class and do every last problem of each homework assignment. You'll probably need a strong attention span as well.

The truth of the matter certainly is that Mr. lopez is the best math instructor in cerritos college. Yes, the class does get boring at times, and he is on as easy as i would like. However, i've never met any math instructor like him . He is truly a kind person and very devoted to his students.

He is such an awesome professor. Took him for statistic. Ofcourse you have to try hard in order to get a good grade since statistic is a hard subject. But he tries very hard to make sense in everything he teaches. Wonderful sweet guy

Is nice, has helpful review sessions and tests are usually questions that appear on the review sheets. However, he doesn't go over the "hard stuff" enough and when it came to the final, over half were word problems!

He is funny and likes to crack jokes and tell stories. e helps everyone who needs and is willing to stay after class to help you or even before class. At first there wasnt that much homework but towards the end it started to build up. The test are kind of hard. But all in all if you want a fun class thats helpful you should take him.

The test he gives are hard but he takes time out of day were goes over the material again before every test, you have to go to class every day and study to pass, what do you expect your college.

Professor Lopez is a great instructor. His tests are are very similar to the study guides. He is very helpful and willing to spend extra time with the students for reviews. As long as you study and do your homework, you'll get an "A"

Lopez is such an awesome teacher. He makes plenty of time to help students who need a little extra help outside of class, and even help study groups the weekend before tests. He never puts you down for asking questions or not understanding right away. He has a big pet peeve with texting and phones going off so make sure they're off in class!

he helped me remove my fear of math!he is so very good in explaining and gives the best and easiest techniques that we could use to solve what we used to know as a complicated problem.His teachings is helping me a lot now on my Math60 class where i find it easy if I use the techniques i learned from Mr. lopez' class in MAth 40. He is 1 of the best professor in Cerritos College, I was the person who hate Math the most. However, after taking his class, I got A straight in the the class. One tip is that, you should not miss the class, complete all of the homework and if you have any questions, plz go to his meet him at his office hour, you will be improved by that factors.

I took Mr. Lopez for stats. He is very helpful but attending tutoring regularly is highly recommended in order to pass the test. the exam's were always a challenge and sometimes differ from the study guide.

HE is actually a good professor, he explains everything clear making stats easier to understand!!! His study guides are not like his test, only the first study guide is. His tests is basically like the homework. If you do your hwk and understand it then the tests should be no problem. Also, tutoring is highly recomended. He is a very good teacher

Never met a professor so patient and motivated to have his students understand. He goes out of his way to teach you the subject, even taking time out of school, without pay, to have study sessions with students before tests. If you meet him halfway, you will walk away with a sense of accomplishment and a mastery of the subject. Best professor ever.

Professor Lopez is extremely helpful. He also has a good loud voice so it's easy to follow him. He would take time off weekends before the exam to host helpful review sessions even though he doesn't get paid for it. Gives somewhat useful practice exams. About 25-30 out of 40 passed in my opinion. I ended up with a B+.

He is the best teacher I've taken at Cerritos. He's extremely patient with students and explains everything clearly. If you have to take Math 170 he's the teacher to take!

He is a very helpful teacher. I can say he is willing to help student at any time we seek for him especially before each exam. One more good thing about his class is he always gives students the practice test which is similar to the actual one. So if you keep practice with the homework that he assigns, you are in a good shape.

Cares very much about his students and encouraging. Very good quality teacher and sacrifices a lot time just to help students. I got a B in the course because I was taking chem and 2 other electives other than, it is possible to do really well.

Mr. Lopez is a very friendly, caring and helping professor. He holds meetings on the weekends for students who are not understanding the material. Still, I wish he would be more organized with his lesson plan. Moreover, I feel he is lazy outside of school because he constantly returned the exams late. He also throws curve-balls on the exams.

You can study all you want, go to the review sections and do the practice tests, the bottom line is his exams are designed for math majors. Truly hard. Don't take a heavy course load in conjunction with this class. Get together with class mates to study. Good luck!!!

Mr. Lopez said this in class, " it's not the hours you come to class, but the others outside if class that will get you the grade you want. If you want that "A" you must put in the hours in HW, and read that textbook, go study with a tutor or math study group. I just took his class this summer, 6 weeks of pure madness. Study study study!

Best calc prof i ever had. exams are very long and kinda difficult; make sure to do ALL the h/w, handouts/study guides he gives you, and take very good notes for each class. for me this class was an easy B, i wasnt able to get an A in this class tho(bc midterm and final were too long and he chose the most difficult problems from the hw for it)

Took Math 80 during the 6 week summer session. Seems impossible, right? Mr. Lopez made it seem like a reality. I learned so much in such a short time. I will definitely be choosing him for the rest of my Math courses.

this professor went above and beyond the call of duty to help my class pass in a summer session. very helpful, and absolutely cares about his students. Can explain math to people who don't understand math like me. Highly recommended if math isn't your strong subject

Best math teacher at Cerritos. He is very clear and very approachable. He goes beyond what other teachers do, like holding saturday sessions before tests weeks. You will have to study for tests, but he gives practice tests. If you do them a lot and show up your will surely get an A. Best math teacher.

Professor is the best statistics professor hands down. He went above and beyond expectations. The level of clarity and passion about teaching made it overall a great class. I chose this professor based on comments and I'm glad I did. Homework is not hard, and test are time taking but of course like any other class, you need to study to get an A.

Very helpful prof! I wish the "easiness" ranking would not affect the grade for the teacher, because i think a teacher that makes a class too easy is not that great of a teacher. You definitely need to study and do your work to get a good grade, but he is very helpful and holds extra optional classes before exams. Wish we had more prof. like him!

Mr. Lopez is the best math teacher i have taken at Cerritos. He actually cares about his students and he is here to help you pass the class. He has study guides that are very close to his test and the hw is only 10% of your grade ( if you dont like hw). I would defiantly take his class again, but its not an easy A .

His tests are really hard. Practice test don't help much, just helps to understand the concepts. Practice test have little to do with actual tests. Do not take a heavy course load with this class. Try to take just that one class if possible. Form study groups, don't take this course lightly. A lot of his students don't pass. Good luck and work Hard

I absolutely LOVE Mr Lopez. BEST TEACHER I'VE EVER HAD IN MY LIFE. He's always there when you need him. He likes students that are willing to learn and show it. I'm being honest it was my first year in College and trust me Manuel Lopez is such a tough grader, and you really have to work for your grade, but other than that he is a great teacher. If you want to pass his class you have to put your time in it!! Seriously you have to. Go to his office hours, if you keep lagging you really won't pass. Get help!

Yes, tough grader. Said so himself. Class not difficult at ALL if you do your work and HW. Allows index cards, b/c a lot of material IS covered, does give partial points. Really one of the best math profs. here. Cares about students. Yah, lecture heavy b/c it's math. Notes available on google docs & hw has step by step tutorials. no reason to fail.

This class felt like an upper division university course! Lectures are very fast paced, take good notes, attend class, do your homework. Be ready to spend your weekends studying, as there are tests and quizzes every other week. He is a very good instructor, knows the material, is very passionate and is more than willing to help you. TOUGH grader!

He's a great professor. Very clear instructions. Only issue is that he gives A LOT of homework. Stay on top of your homework and make sure you study. It's not too difficult of a class. He's also a very tough grader so make sure you pay attention to how he wants the answers worded.

I've transferred now but want to praise Prof. Lopez and how understandable he made Statistics, which was regarded as a such a difficult subject at this school bc of the stigma against other professors. It's not easy, but the effort you put in with homework/studying will take you far. He's a clear lecturer and is accessible outside of class too!

If youre a visual learner, then his lectures will be very useful. His class is all about lectures; everyday its a new lesson. He does give hw but not on a daily. The hw is online & gives you deadlines for when to turn it in. His test can be hard but for my class, he realized it was too long & gave us extra credit. Great teacher! I DO RECOMMEND!

His lectures are crystal clear. He doesn't go fast, he goes step by step, and his notes are clear. On top of that, he makes himself available as much as possible outside of class. He gives review test so that you can do well. Tests make up a huge chunk of your grade so make sure to do well on those... the rest is easy.

Mr. Lopez is one of the best math professors I have ever met... He is so patient and never rushes over material. His lectures are always nice and smooth. You can skip so much in just one day so I would recommend to not skip his class, I would highly recommend him.

This is one of the better math teachers in Cerritos College. I would highly recommend him because he goes slow and steady and properly explains everything. His tests are pretty difficult tho so make sure you study! Also make sure you do the homework because it's usually worth a lot.

Mr. Lopez is a great instructor he took time out of his schedule to meet up with us either on a Fri/Sat for review before a test. Homework and quizzes are online. Homework you can do it as many times to get a high score and quizzes you have 3 attempts and he takes the best score. Take advantage of this it will help your score. Test are difficult.

Mr. Lopez goes out of his way to help. All you need to do is ask. He is very talented and I can clearly tell he loves what he does. I took Stats during the summer, the only reason I failed was due to personal reasons, otherwise, I would have done great. I will definitely take him again.

Took Mr. Lopez on my third try of Math 80 and I'm so glad I did. He really helped me understand math when I felt like there was no hope. Before exams, he offered students a study session (out of his own time on a weekend) to help students. He really does care about his students. Sweet guy, patient, and approachable. Just do your part & practice!

Fun, caring, and helpful teacher! He is very strict when it comes to grading and deadlines & asking for extra credit is worse to him than being punched in the face. Do your HW early because HW does play a big part in your grade. He is very helpful during office hours and will not be annoyed to repeat himself if you do not understand the question.

He is a good professor. His lectures are good. Every day is notetaking. The reason why I have received a C grade was because of testing and the exam. Math and testing are both horrible combinations for me. In order to pass this class with a good grade, you MUST score high on tests. Tests in this class are huge. Be sure to study hard when they come.

Professor Lopez is the best teacher at Cerritos college. I was in his algebra class for 2 semesters. He is one of the best teachers I have ever encountered. He is very professional, approachable, respectful, ready to help students at any time. I can keep going on and on without shorts of words. I appreciate him a lot. I wish him well in life.

I sucked at math, but the way he taught it helped me learn the materials easily. Even with his accent you'll understand his lectures. I took his summer course I learned the material fast and easily even though I have trouble learning mathematics.

Professor Lopez is very clear and outspoken about what he expects from students and provides notes to aid them with measuring their understanding on topics, aiding students in directing they're focus on exam material. Overall great teacher and very patient

Took him for the short summer session and there is a LOT of homework. He allows you to collab on quizzes and tests as long as you participated in finding the solution (I would recommend making a discord with everyone in class). He accepts late assignments which is very nice, but do NOT fall behind. A lot of work, but it is fine if you put in time.

Took him for the short summer session online. He gives A LOT of homework and his exams are really difficult. He will take off a lot of points for the smallest mistake, like you can get the right answer but will give you no credit if you forgot units or something. Lets you collab with other students on the exams so thats nice. Overall nice guy tho.

I loved his class. He lets you work with others for the tests and the homework. I recommend creating a discord server or something for the entire class. Because of that his grading system is harsh. However he does drop your lowest quiz and homework scores. DO.THE. HOMEWORK. A lot of the quizzes are from the homework which he does let you use.

Really great professor. He makes sure that you understand the material and will even go as far as to re-teach the material you should've known. I'd recommend to anyone that is taking his course to make a discord with the rest of the class so that on quiz/test days, you'll all be able to work on it together, which is allowed according to his class.

Overall, Professor Lopez is a great teacher. He assigns a lot of homework so make sure to pace yourself and manage your time. That being said, doing the homework helps prepare for the quizzes and tests he assigns. The only bad thing I can think of is that he grades tests kinda slow.
