A nice and easy-going professor. No homework, only 5 exams (non-cumulative for each one). The points that you got on each exam would be accumulated (good attendence would even get you another 10 points). No need to take the fifth exam if you accumulated an A (93 points or more) on first four.

Does any one have take her online classes? Don't take her online classes It is a nightmare. It is the worst thing you will ever make. She may be a good professor oncampus, but online is the worst. A lots and lots of work and home work. You going to have a very hard time taking her online classes.

Excellent professor, classes are easy to understand as she relates them by telling realistic examples of real life situations for easy understanding. Easy tests - 20 Qs, multiple choice with extra bonus Qs for getting better grades. I wish she taught PSY 240!

She was a positive motivation for me. She talks about her life and what she went through to be at where she is at. She cares about her students. Five exams and you do not have to take the fifth exam if you do really well on the first four exams.

Besides the obvious, Dr. Hallak is fabulous because she does not just lecture, she does exercises to make sure concepts are understood. She is funny and honest and will give extra points for attendance. The only way to fail this class is by not trying!!

online class is SUPER easy...take it if you can get in. Some students will initially register and then drop a couple of weeks prior to the start. KEEP YOUR EYES OPEN. Her online class is very reasonable. She's understanding with extensions but you have to be reasonable and notify her as well. 2 chapters per week over summer course but chapters are interesting to read. Tests aren't difficult since they come right from the book.

I had a lot of problems getting on blackboard. So I e-mailed her, other prof. would of told me to withdraw. She was very helpful, and as for her teaching highly recommended. Very clear on what she wants from her student. After all she gave me a B+. This was my first on-line class, and I loved it.

Great learning experience, I took the course online in the summer semester. I had to read a little almost every day, and to hand an essay once a week. there where three exams overall. quite easy ! she is a fabulous teacher, very considerate. all the subjects were very intersting. I'll definitely take another course with her given the chance. :)

The class is super easy. The test is super easy since it is multiply choice but don't think you'll pass the test with flying color without doing some reading and studying. She is really nice and caring toward her students. She want everyone in her class to receive "a pretty A". She really try to make the lecture interesting.

Took the online class and it was easy. You log in every week and write a chapter summary of the chapter you read that week and then respond to someone else's post. There were 2 online exams which were easy and based on the textbook. Easy A if you do the weekly posts and answer them correctly

She is a very nice professor. This class is easy only when you study. You usually get two chapters per test and she provides you with notes via blackbord. It would be a good idea to read the notes with the chapters in the book and you'll be destined for an A.

She is Great! She gives 5 easy multiple choice quizzes (based on slides she prepares) and drops the one with the lowest score. Moreover, there are extra credit opportunities. My advice, do not even bather with the book.

I took the summer online course. Easy A! I got a 103.5 out of a possible 105 points. But you must still read the textbook and know the material. She gives extra credit. Just turn in all assignments on time and you will get an A. If you get below an A, it's because you didnt take the class seriously.

Professor Hallak's intro class is by far the most entertaining class I've taken at BMCC. She treats you like an adult. She doesn't take attendance and doesn't give papers. I recommend this class to students who work, have families or go to school on weekends.

If you get anything less than an A in this class, you shouldn't be in college. Dr. Hallak makes this course so easy to understand. Really great online professor, my first online course. Very attentive to who participates via the discussion board. I would recommend staying on top of your discussion boards and assignments. Tests were so easy, its open book how can you fail. Take her and you will be happy, Im not sure if she was lenient since it was sure but im happy I took her.

Read the textbook and do the class discussion (500 words each)take the exams (all multiple choice) and you'll get an easy A. Professor H. is by far one of the most influential instructors I have studied under . She expects the most, and gives it in return without hesitation. Her teaching methods are concise and engaging. Psychology of personality was my fifth psych class at BMCC and the first with her. I would have them all with her if it was possible.

Nice lady but she can give off mixed feelings sometimes. She told people they didn't have to attend class and when they didn't she wasn't happy. I'm not sure how they passed the class without coming cause I went everyday and dont know if I would have passed without attending. She does her job great though.

All the tests are take-home, so you literally can't not pass unless you just don't do the tests. Which seems too easy.

The best psychology professor out of most CUNY schools. I attend LaGuardia originally and signed up for this class because of this professor. You have to be involved in class actively and do your work with each chapter but it then turns out completely worth it! Lectures are the best, very interesting and informative, always covers the material!

You will literally only fail this class if you try to. Just do what she asks you do to & you will pass. Shes amazing & very understanding, and allows late work if you kindly ask. (Respect the strict due dates) because some in my online class took her for granted and turned in things ridiculously late at the end of the semester.

Great teacher but tests don't line up with our 'homework' discussion boards. They are timed but open book. Even though I have a 4.0, I couldn't ever get above an 80 on the tests. It was ridiculous. Just use google. Decent teaching though, pretty 'hands off'. Good with checking emails. Not sure I learned a LOT but did get something from the class.

I love this Prof. If you guys dont take with her trust me you would be missing a lot of things. I wish I have the opportunity to take with her again. You will learn a lot from her and she is well-Respected.

If you work hard in her class you will learn so much from her. I learned so much just listening to her talk. She is funny, has endless stories to tell and helps you a lot with breaking down the textbook material. She makes classes feel like a breeze. Definitely one of the best professors in BMCC, you cant ask for any better psychology professor!

Great Professor that gives extremely good feedback on your discussions posted on Blackboard. She's very caring and funny which makes the class even more fun and interesting. She makes sure you have a better understanding in any parts of the lecture you may be confused about.

Prof. Hallak is flexible for any extensions, extra credits and try agains. Easy going and open for discussions! Her assignments weren't tough at all. Sure, you should post at least 12 topics and take 4 tests, but what do you expect from online class!? She gives very good feedback. Do your homework, comment other's posts and you'll be ok! Easy A!

I definitely recommend her! Take her and you wont regret. This was the easiest class Ive ever took in college. You just do your work and you get an A. Quizzes are not hard. Discussion boards comes from the chapter. The professor is very sweet she is not strict with due dates. She is a real gem. Im speechless about her class.

I took her online class it was a lot of reading which is expected for an online class. One thousand words in weekly writing thats from the chapter so you must read to answer her discussion board its like about 3 pages once a week so dont panic. 3 tests super easy dont be lazy and write 1 paragraph youre in college for a reason

She is so caring and loving to all of her students . If I can I would take her class again. All you have to do is get your work done and she does give Extensions if you need more time to do your work.

took her for psych 230 for the summer, shes not bad. do the discussion board, do well on the tests (not hard) and read! shes very hard on the reading, thats what majority of the discussions boards are on. just show you are willing to learn and she'll see that effort.

I LOVED having prof Hallak, she's truly been one of my favorite teachers so far. She's so sweet and caring and I hope I get to take at least one more class with her before I leave here. I had her for an intensive writing summer course, it was a lot but it was definitely manageable. As long as you talk to her she'll work with you and help you.

Pr. Hallak is AMAZING. I'd took as many PSY classes with her as it'd be possible. I took the class online, never regreted. She seems to be very strict at the beginning of the semester, then, turns to be the sweetest ever. Just do what she assigns and you'll get an easy "A", trust me. Lots of extra credit opportunities.

She's A GEM. Incredibly nice professor, which is unusual. Her class consists of weekly discussion boards, multiple choice quizzes which are easy enough and one paper. Class is interesting and she is very understanding, she often times provides extensions if needed. Definitely take this professor if you have the chance.

Honestly one of the best professors I've had. She pushed me to do better for me. I got an A and actually learned not like some courses where you get an A for nothing. Take her and her course ( Social Psy), and you will be happy with the results. Remember work hard, and learn harder. Hope you enjoy her class!!!

Dr. Hallak is one of the greats at BMCC. She works so hard for her students to understand. she is very inspirational and she works with her students to help them retain the information and want to pass she is truly a great professor you wont regret taking her she's amazing at what she does. She would make you wish she taught other classes.

Shes fantastic but the work can be a bit intimidating in the beginning but in the middle youll get the hang of it and find it easy to master towards the end I feel like I learned a lot from her class which was the most enjoyable part.

This class was asynchronous and included the writing intensive credit. As expected you have to write! She is not a tough grader and gives really good feed back but if you think you can "wing it" think again! She will call you out on it. Not a hard class just read the material and write! Exams are simply, short and multiple choice.

This was an asynchronous winter class. Only interaction is through discussion board. 4 test 12 discussion board post 350 words. Dont listen to these other kids. Its a winter class what did you expect. She is fantastic and this was an easy A class. Im sure these bad reviews were from students who wasnt planning to work or they tried to BS it.

I did not know what to expect from taking this course. I thought that the too many good ratings were sketchy. I am glad I took this online winter course. I took her in the fall semester of 2021 and these recent reviews are most certainly fake coming from students who are lazy why are you even in college for if your not willing to learn and do your work Im not even smart and I tried my best in her class and got an A you must work for it nothing is free ppl this is real life

Decided to finish my degree after 8 years of not being in school. The fear I had of returning and possibly failing had me in doubt. Dr. Hallak was always helpful for clarity on any difficult assignment. Thanks to giving me the mindset to conquer this. AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!

The best teacher. Always responses to her emails. Not strict at all. Very lenient and easy-okay work. I would really take this class again if i had to. LOVED IT

This professor is truly one of the most understanding professors I have ever met. She gives a lot of extensions if need be no matter what is your situation. She really cares if students understand the materials. Her lectures are very informative and interesting. I really recommend taking her she gives great feedback and her grading policy is clear.

If you are unsure wether to take this class with this professor do it trust me!! Genuinely a really good professor just make sure you really study . She is kind and understanding and funny just really take good notes. go over them and she even gives multiple extra credits to boost grade. You wont regret it.

Grading criteria are clear, although what she expects isn't 100% clear on some discussion posts but if you mess up you get a chance to repost. If you do the readings the exams are easy and once you get 93% you can skip the rest of the assignments/exams. Gives extra credit. Extensions are allowed if you ask in advance. No lectures, just readings.

She's very nice to everyone just make sure to do all her work and you will pass.

This professor is fantastic - engaging and understanding. While the workload is solid, using resources like Unstuck AI alongside the textbook helps make the material manageable. Worth taking if you're willing to put in the effort.

I took Professor Hallak for Spring'25, and she was the best. When I entered her class, there was no such thing as phone time. Not that she did not allow you to use your phone, but once I sat down, I was so interested in what she had to say. She gives a few participation quizzes and only 4 ONLINE take-home exams. I loved her, and you will too!

Professor Hallak was one of the sweetest professors. I took her 5 week summer course which consisted of 10ish discussions, 300 words each and 4 exams- 20 mc questions. She also added assignments to help boost your grade as well as exercises which were fairly easy. She really wants you to do well and will give you extensions if you ask!

The professor was very organized, clear, and always reachable. Even though the course was asynchronous, the class felt engaging and entertaining. Assignments were meaningful, discussions encouraged participation, and feedback was thoughtful. Overall, a great learning experience.
