As an adult student going back to school I was not sure of my abilities. Marc is single handedly raised my confidence level and is the reason why I am so successful today. I had serious anxiety about taking this class because I suck at writing. Marc takes you from the very very basics to where you should be. I NEVER thought I would enjoy coming to an English clas TO LEARN! LOTS of work, but worth it to me!

Dude -- marc rules. He has a very wittty sense of humorization (:- ) and it was the fastest three hours ever. He is VERY bright, but does not flaunt it, and also can relate to the various personalities in the class. I will take every class he teaches.

First off -- be ready to do a LOTTTTTTTTT of work!!! BUT, when you complete it, you feel pretty good about it because you learned something. He DOES harp a bit much on English-teacher type stuff, but I did become a better writer (from HIM, not my English teacher!). And, he really knows his stuff about pop culture. Real good cat!!!! LOL!

Marc is very active in the online class, grades you quickly, and offers lots of feedback. That said, there is an INSANE amount of writing expected. I felt like I was being graded solely on my opinion, but maybe that was the point. The book is useless, but the extra stuff Marc adds is cool. Take this class when you have lots of free time.

The BEST class I have taken at LCCC! Marc's knowledge of pop culture is superior. I was fascinated in class by what he knew. The other posters here say there is a lot of work. Sorta, but there are options and he allows you to do things which suit your type of learning. I have NEVER felt more comfortable in a class. take this class pronto!!!!

This is my last sem at LCCCC, and this is the BEST class I have EVER had here. FINALLY -- a COLLEGE class -- yes yes YES he makes you think and there is MAD work, but I want to be prepard for a 4yr school and, hopefully, grad school. I was SOOO scared on day one. He is, like, scary. But, once you figure out his quirks and what he expects, it is -- as most have said here -- one of the best classes at LCCC. I have been hear and back, and I FINALLY found a prof who listens to the students and "gets" them. I did not mind the work because it helped me become more prepared.

I just am finishing up a comprssed course in Brit Lit with him online. Yes, he crams a LOT in in 10 weeks. I learned to manage my time. His comments on my papers were very helpful and he had a lot of good stuff to say about the stuff we read. I hope to take him again!

A lot of work is required for this course, but if you manage your time and are devoted you will get a lot out of it. He is an excellent professor, by far the best. He is incredible. There is a lot of writing, but it has meaning. Bottom line is he's wonderful at teaching and will help you get an A.

I LEARNED how to write with Mark's guidance. I was pretty good at it coming into the class. He helped me refine my style. He goes off on tangents about stuff. However, he always relates it to the literature in class. I have signed up for his soc class in the Sping!

I did see my writing improve over the cource of the semester. His interpretations of some of the literature read in class are WAYYYYYY outhere. But, he does always say it is HIS interpretation and allowes you to disagree and support your points. But warning: support it well or he will shoot your down. Warning 2:be ready to work your a$$$ off

Be ready to devote your entire life to his class. He is VERY demanding and expects everyone to be experts. This was annoying. Having said this tho, I did learn a great deal, and have a better critcal way of looking at things. He hates whiners and laziness and gets REALLY pisssed at this. So I GUESS I recommend the class, but do nothing else!

I had Mark for English 106 and, well, it was interesting to say the least. He is very knowledgeable about the material, is prepared, gives good feedback. BUTTTTT, he talks a lottttttt sometimes! And, sometimes it seemed endless. He did help me write better and made me look at lit diff ways. Would I take him again? ehhh maybe. Not bad!

I.love.this.class.period. I am not sure why people are saying it is SO tough. He wants you to read and know your $.it -- LIKE EVERY COLLEGE CLASS I HAVE! However, Marc has a way of connecting everything and explainging it to make me understand it. I hope to take him for more classes!

I am a returning ed student who took Mass Culture as a "fun" elective. Well, it was fun as Marc is a riot in class and VERY personable. HOWEVER, the workload equalled that of some graduate classes I had. Someone may need to remind him this is a 100-level class. As most say here, REALLY knows his material and presents it well. JUST TOOOOOO MUCH!

This guy is probably one of the best teachers I have had at LCCC. Easy to understand, makes everyone feel at home and has a very liberal way of teaching that is very impressive compared to most other teachers. If you want to have a great experience at LCCC, take Bonanni.

Mass Culture Online. This class had a lot of written papers,however, Marc made it so clear and fun! The papers were pretty neat, like 1 was analyzing a music video. He Really knows his stuff! Very helpful and clear, gives good guidelines & allows time for assignments. Awesome class!! Marc is prob the BEST Professor at lccc!!

MArc is great! he often had me thinking about what I had just read! He definitaly loves lit and writing (which I do not)and it is obvious he cares about his students. This is my third time taking Eng105, and, well, I will be taking it AGAIN! While my other profs for ENG105 were dull and useless (I leanrd NOTHING!), this guy expects you to dediecate your LIFE to his class! Essays every 2 weeks, a research paper, and readings/quizzes ALL DAY! Ain't nobody got time for that!

One thing I def learned -- I learned NOTHING in high school. Marc really helped me become a better writer and reader. He used the term "critical thinking" in every class which annoyed people, but I am glad! I am upset I cannot take his 106 class because I work that night. He really represents excellence at LCCC.

Marc scares you the first day of class to get you to do the work but if you do, you'll get it. He is a super professor and makes it clear how to write a good research paper.

Marc is the best. I have taken this f-ing course 3 X with numskulls who actually refused to help me. I am a returning adult student and felt so lost. I haven't been to school in 21 years! Marc is the ONLY person who seemed to get this. He challenged me, but he was ALWAYS there to help. He NEVER refused a question. Tough, funny, fair.

Just finished my final exam and I'm sad. I am not lying when I say I looked forward to coming to class every Tuesday and Thursday. Mark is funny and smart.

I am an adult learner and took the compressed five week class. After day one I was thinking the worse. Glad I stuck with it, I really enjoyed the class. Do the work, participate and you'll do fine.

After dropping out of Millersville, I decided to go back to school after five years. Marc is the BESt prof I have ever had anywhere. Lots of reading and writing for sure. But it is manageable. He knows his stuff!

Professor Bonanni has been my favorite teacher so far. He's super funny and you actually look foward to going to class. He helps you out with your papers and has amazing lectures about the short stories we read. There are a good amount of quizzes and you do have to read a book for the final. Show up to Class!

He is a awesome professor! He comes on strong at first. Which I belive is to weed out the students who know they don't want to be there. Attendance is a huge part of the course, as well as reading and doing the work. Complete them two things and you will be successful in his class. He is also very comical and understanding when it comes to life.

Mark expects a lot! But, he gives a lot too. He has great discussions. He has very helpful handouts and online links. I like how he helps me writer better. I have a lot of homework though. I don't mind so much though. He is a great wonderful teacher!

I took his Intro to Sociology class online and when I saw the syllabus, I wanted to drop the class. I am so happy I stuck it out because he is AMAZING. I think he really prepares you for moving on past LCCC. He cares about his teaching, wants you to succeed, always gives praise when its warranted. Do not slack and stay ahead of your work!

Professor Bonanni has been, by far, the best professor I have ever had. I had to take this class as a prerequisite and was not thrilled when I saw the syllabus had 6 novels. There is a lot of reading but so long as you read and participate you will get an A! I would definitely take him if you have to take an English class.

Great, fair professor who truly cares and builds a level of trust with his students. Gives good feedback on quizzes and essays. I took a LIT class so of course it was reading-heavy but books and short stories read were interesting. Only thing: class started to feel like a bookclub. More talk about personal life related to books than anything else.

Just finished his American Lit II class. Marc is very into learning and provided a lot of good information. He was always helpful with how to look at the literature as well as how to write about it. He actually participated in class discussions online, It was a lot for ten weeks, but I am glad I took it here with him.

Prof Bonanni has been my favorite prof so far! He is hilarious. His feedback is the highlight of my day. He is not rigid with his demeanor or his language, transcending norms in every area while still teaching what you need to know and helping you grow. He is very encouraging and eases the pressure of school. I wish I could take his class again!

Most of the class was done by articles and PowerPoint. he is a PHENOMENAL teacher who genuinely cares about his students. if you pay attention in his class and make an effort to participate you'll do just fine! he is very laid back so it made for a wonderful semester. would recommend him over and over again!

Amazing professor! I have anxiety and was really nervous as it was my first semester at LCCC and he made me feel really comfortable and was always accommodating and had me laughing in class. We had a great connection and I would love to have him as my professor again. As long as you show up for class and complete all the assignments, you're good.

I had Mark for a summer course and it was excellent! There are a LOT of assignments, but some are interesting at least. He is very fair and is willing to work with you being helpful. Im takin his class in the fall!

MARC ROCKS! Class was on Zoom and he made it interested because he is funny. Tells great stories and responds to emails quick. He let us revise essays til the last week of class and helped me with mine a lot. I was not nervous after taking the class bc it is not a place of stress.

Marc is the best prof I have had... he does have a test each week for class but they are fairly easy and as long as you do the readings you're fine. He has no extended period but is an easy grader. You'll be fine if you show up for class. responds very quickly to emails.

The class was pretty easy for a 10 week class. The assignments were what I expected (reading and essays) and Mark allowed for revisions. He would heavily edit my papers for me which i needed and it made my essays better. He is very strict with due dates and I lost some points for this. the class was a required one so it worked out.

One of the best professors in LCCC. He doesn't really lecture, his classtime is more of an open forum discussion supplemented by out of class work. I think he might be hard for students who are disengaged as the workload is heavy, but engaged students will help everyone along in discussions. He is insightful and helped me out of class as well.
