Wow, looks like someone's not getting a good grade! Whiner! I cant disagree more with the last post (it's mean not informative), but you have to make up youre own mind.

For anyone who has talked badly about Marc - YOU ARE SO WRONG! Marc is the greatest person in the world! He is very helpful, and cares about his students. As long as you go to class, and do your work you WILL get along with Marc! Hancock needs to have more professors like Marc!!! He is so cool!!!

I failed his class b/c I sleep in untill 12:30. Class started at 11:00 for me. But I wish I would have stayed and thats why I WILL go back to his class. Marc's class kicks @$$!

Youll learn things in G-M's course, not a lot but some good things. He's creative and likes students...but what do ya expect from a professor who uses Curious George and Southpark in his class? 'Nuff said. Peace.

Highly highly highly over-rated. I cant understand his appeal. Always playing favorites, goes off on tangents, and I felt like I was learning nothing. In class, I honestly think that he sometimes does not know what he is talking about.

he's a very intellegent teacher he loves what he teaches and loves to share his talent with others.

Marc is stinkn' awesome. Yeah he likes to be a dork some days and wear his converse and a sweatshirt, but who doesn't have days like that. He's always willing to help you and has some pretty awesome stories. Love the fact that he's 'young', still like to party, and laughs a lot. He does these awesome drawings some days. I recomend him to just about any one.

I love marc, he's totally a teacher who can change your major and really make you think. Plus he is so hot, love the converse, and how he krinkles his nose when he is explaining something he thinks is funny. Marc you rock, marry me!!!!!!

This guy rocks. The first time I ever met him he was checking out a hot, scantily clad chick in the halls. This guy knows how to teach, and won't lead you down the same boring path as the mainstream loser professors. Definitely somebody worth learning from!

C'mon... It's English... ENglish is hard, but he is an EXCELLENT TEACHER>.. MUCH BETTER THAN KAPPEN! ! One of the coolest guys on campus... teaches you shortcuts that make sense. Definitely one of the top teachers at AHC.

Marc has smarts, talent & charisma. He does tell lots of stories & goes off on tangents but so what? LISTEN and FOLLOW! I appreciate how his energy is always good & high. After years of teaching, he's still excited about what he teaches and still warm and positive to his students. Of course he prefers students who participate. They make the class.

Great teacher. You definitely need to be outspoken in his class and participate in class discussions as much as possible. An A is attainable but you have to put a lot of time into your essays. I would definitely take another class of his though. And he's a cutie!

This class is very interesting. There is little work and therefore there is much emphasis on the three asigments. You do not need to read his mind to earn a good grade, just show up to class prepared and ready to learn. He makes learning fun and although he may seem a little pompus and teach as if his class is a psychology class, this is a fun clas

Dr. Garcia is a great teacher.He has a good sense of humor and is down to earth. He just wants to see you put some thought into his class and encourages you do do that in some creative ways.

Awsome Teacher! You need to be there and actually read the reading assignments or your screwed. If you're having problems approach him at the appropriate time and he will be more than helpful. Don't cut corners or lie. He is a PHD therefore the master of bull sh*t promise. He will drop you like a heavy rock. overall dont procrastinate!!

I have taken his class for two years now, 101 and 103. If you have a problem showing up to class on time then why bother going to college? Anywho he is great and if you want to take other teachers you will be missing out. 1st of all english was never my best subject, but after taking 301 and 101 I am more confident. Mark is very passionate about what he teaches and has a great sense of humor. READ THE SYLLABUS! everything you need to know is there. If you are respectful, engaged, and devote the time and effort into the learning/ applying the concepts you'll do well.

This was the first time I ever loved an English class. Mark will teach you how to communicate more effectively to get your point across. To get a good grade you have to do all your work, put in the time to do good quality, and apply the writing techniques he bestows you with. Show him respect and he'll show you respect. Love this class!!!

Admittedly, he is a jerk almost all the time. But other than that his class was easy enough but also hard enough for an ENG101 class. If you can get past his smug character then you'll pass.. as long as you show up and do every essay. Overall it's a pretty easy/tinsy bit hard class with a smug/cool teacher.

He has a different way of teaching English and he is very strict on attendance, but if you show up & listen, you learn alot & find an easier way to write an essay! he's funny, smart and good looking!

Garcia-Martinez is the best English Professor that I have had to date. He had an exceptional way of teaching and I highly reccomend him to any student who does not enjoy English.

Honestly one of the best English instructors I've ever had. He assigns pretty intense, in depth essays but on the upside there is only 3 of them! Lot's of discussion, he makes sure to answer all questions. Normally let's you out at least 20 minutes early! Also, he's pretty easy on the eyes so...Have at this class, guys.

Smart guy. You'd do well to take his 101 for his 103. Take your essay to him during office hours before AND after he grades them. He'll red ink them with VALUABLE suggestions. I loved the class. Only a few things are taught, but you learn them REALLY well. Be respectful. PARTICIPATE in class!

Hardly used textbook, maybe three times. Must attend class because he is big on participation. Must talk when discussing topics(10% participation). Three essays out of 20 points and each worth 20%. Three tests which were quite easy if you pay attention (10% each). Not too bad of a grader on essays. B is attainable. For an A, you have to talk.

Decent teacher with lots of charisma and energy.

Class divided into 100 points even, no extra credit. 10 points for attendance, participation, and weekly website responses. Three 20 point essays. 3 quizzes worth 10 points. Quizzes are easy if you go to class and study the worksheets. Essays are long and in depth, but only three is nice. Don't use book, HAVE to participate to get an A. Great class

4 essays, 4 quizes, attendance/participation, and theres your grade. His class is 95% lecture, but he's articulate enough were he held my attention. Definitely a quick witted wise guy, but does know what he's talking about. If you have a question JUST ASK and it will be answered. Stay on top of the homework, actually study, you'll pass n problem!

Professor Garcia-Martinez, is brilliant, confident and damn right sophisticated. His teaching approach is indeed hands on and his passion for teaching is as clear as day. Sure, you may not believe this class to be an easy A, but what Professor Garcia-Martinez will show you, will deeply influence and change your future.

His class is not for lazy people who are not interested in learning. He is a very intelligent man and he is interesting to listen to in every class. No nonsense is taken by him. Those who do not like him are the students who he catches texting and who are not willing to learn. He does not assign a lot of material, but he covers topics in depth.

Prof.Garcia-Martinez, is a TRUE rarity & gifts hope for the future. He clearly demonstrates how to compose each essay & assists students who WISH to obtain sophisticated and articulate writing skills- is an art itself. "Free-write" isn't his forte & he emphasizes the importance of writing critically. His classic ways, are sadly too good for SM.

Professor Garcia-Martinez is one of the best lecturers you will encounter. Passionate, brilliant, clear and concise he inspires one to care about not only their own education but also about life in general.

I took him for my English 514 class and I strongly reccomend him. His class is honestly not the difficult as long as you want to be there, it's 4 essays and 4 exams. THAT'S IT! He really wants all of his students to pass. But, does teach the class more like a critical thinking class rather than lower level gramatic English, but i really enjoyed it!

I took him for English 101, he is one of the best teachers I have had at Hancock highly recommend. I love English so it was easy for me although he is a TOUGH GRADER. His assignments are clear, very manageable and interesting! Always willing to help whenever you need it. Only 4 essays (not long), 4 tests, NO FINAL. It was a very enjoyable class!

he's a very wise man a tough grader but does it for your own good has no final and only assign 4 essays doesn't give much homework one of my favorite professors

He's amaze balls.

No homework, 1 essay a month (if that), No final, no midterm, tests are only 10 ?'s (multiple choice) AND he demonstrates how to compose each essay by breaking down each paragraph (intro, body conclusion) into sentences. He will even start from scratch and sit behind a computer and demonstrate this.

Garcia-Martinez can be funny, serious, or a jerk sometimes. He only picks on you if you don't try. Other than that, he is an amazing teacher. One of the best English professors that makes a lot of effort to help you craft your essays. He knows how to engage his students in his lectures, so do yourself a favor and take him.

I liked how he helped me compose my essay. I actually use all his handouts for my other classes and even my other instructors have mentioned to me how much my writing has improved. You must take his class. Once you do, it will assist with any other papers you may need to write. Plus he's hot.

Although this is an english class, the class mostly revolves around narratives. Each week he assigns online assignments due in the middle of the week which are mostly analyses of lecture related topics and are good to get you thinking outside of the box. There are at least 4 essays during the semester and if you just skip 1, don't expect to pass

Marc is hilarious. Aside from that, his professionalism is far beyond anything Ive ever encountered. In fact, his sophisticated demeanor is so useful he demonstrates how to compose an articulate essay to enhance your writing skills. No other AHC teacher has showed me 14 of the skills he has. Take him. You won't regret it.

He's a really good teacher. He helped me with my essays and was really nice. There isn't a midterm or a final and only 4 papers. Reallllly easy. Take him.

He is a wonderful professor who makes you learn in his own style. He could be mean and unfair at times.

This Instructor definitely knows what he is talking about. You will receive any better teacher on campus that will give you handouts on how to compose an essay. He even breaks down the paragraphs (Intro, Body(s) Conclusion topic sentences are a breeze with him and EVERYTHING is given in his guides to writing. Only 4 papers NO MIDTERM or FINAL :)

I really liked his class because there was never ever homework. He only has 3 papers that are due for the semester and he even gets in front of the class to show you how to write each sentence. I liked how he broke everything down. Plus he's smart and hot

What more can anyone ask for? No homework, no midterm, and get this, no final!!! Only 3-4 papers!!! Yeah!!! So easy. His handouts demonstrating how to compose each sentence are amazing and should be used by the other English "instructors" at Hancock.

Honestly, probably one of the best teacher's at Hancock. I took him twice, failed the first time because of not doing online work. I learned a great deal, loved the lectures, loved the essay subjects, taught me how to write a good essay, and I still use the writing-style he introduced to me when I took his class. Great teacher, take him.

MG-M:the first and only instructor to demonstrate how to compose an articulate college-level paperw/o "hooking" the reader like the rest English department practices. What are we doing, fishing? He enjoys revealing writing secrets, resulting in a sophisticated piece of art. Something the rest of the English department can learn from. Bravo!

Professor Garc?a-Mart?nez is the most amazing and inspiring teacher you will ever meet on this campus. He is passionate about what he teaches and is more than willing to clarify if you get lost. But don't expect this to be a cakewalk. Just because he asks for a small amount of assignments doesn't mean slack off. Do your best and you'll do fine.

he's cool.

I liked his class because compared to Kappen and Farley his assignments are manageable and he makes everything VERY CLEAR. He even goes as far as showing the class how to write a paper. I use his handouts all the time, and they've even helped me articulate myself to win scholarships. Heck yes.

He's great! really funny and super clear on assignments. I typically have to see teachers during office hours, but I never did with this one because he was super transparent. Take him, he's really easy.

I really enjoy this. I learned alot from this class there are 4 papers a bit difficult to my own opinion, 4 test and thats it. Professor Marc Garcia teaches very well and inspiring.

Amazing instructor. He's got a great grasp on what he teaches and he makes the class bearable. When I get confused or have a question, he always welcomes students to his office hours and is happy to work one-on-one with them. I would take him again.

The class was enjoyable. You do have to prepare prior to attending class. 4 essays and 4 tests. He really makes you work for your grade. Its not impossible to obtain an A. He even went as far as how to properly develop an intro, body paragraphs, and conclusion. Basically just follow all the formats on his guides and your good.

This Professor is great and I HIGHLY recommend him. I didn't like English and I didn't think that it was a subject for me because of what other instructors had told me. After his class however, I can write an excellent essay, articulate my thoughts well, and I don't feel scared of English anymore. I'm can't wait to take another class with him.

If I could take this class again - I would! This Professor is great at what he teaches and provides clear feedback. Yes, his class is mostly lecture and workshop, BUT these are some of the BEST lectures you will ever sit through and I'm a stronger thinker for them. He cares about his students and always has time to go over your returned essays.

Yeah if you use your phone much then you'll have a problem with this professor. Keep it away the whole time, even before class starts or he'll call you out! But here's the deal: Dr Garcia-Martinez is good AFTER you take his class, take some time, and realize that he was fair and did just fine. He can be too funny and turn too serious in a second.

Dr. Garc?a-Mart?nez is a fantastic English teacher. I wish that I could take more classes with him. He is a serious teacher and wants each student to do their best, but he allows about a month for each essay. He is very clear in his lectures and is very helpful if you come to his office to discuss a grade. I highly recommend him.

Good class, no textbook needed, only two small novel books. No final exam essays graded tough though. Only 4 essays and an exam to go with each.

I love this teacher! Dr. Garcia-Martinez is an awesome teacher and his lectures are really insightful. He is a little strict on the assignments, but there's only a few! He gives about 2-3 weeks for every essay and is always available for feedback. Wish I could take another class with him!

Dr. Garc?a-Martinez is a very knowledgeable and educated professor. He really does know his stuff which he can seem condescending however you are only graded by 4 tests and 4 essays. He goes over how to write an essay from intro to conclusion in his in class writing workshops. Copy the model essay he hands out and theres no way not to get an A.

Just be a good student and you don't have to worry about anything. His class is so easy and you only do 4 essays and get plenty of time for each and the books are Affordable. He gets upset sometimes, but trust me, he has a reason. Some students are idiots that dont care. Overall if you are a good student, this teacher will be easy and your favorite

Professor Garcia-Martinez was incredible. He gives 4 essays and teaches you how to write them. At first, I wasn't interested but then I tuned in more and realized his lectures were amazing. He's very funny and tries to make class as least stressful as possible. Fully recommend him to anyone needing the English requirement fulfilled.

Prof Garcia-Martinez is very caring! He's lectures are easy to understand, no midterms or finals, but there are 4 small quizzes along with 4 essays! He goes word per word to help you write your essays, you just need to put in the work and study his study guides and handouts given!

He may be taught at first but if you do the homework and take the extra time and to re-read what he reads in class then you should earn a high grade.

This was my first year at Allan Hancock College. Believe me when I say he was easy !I am not kidding nor am those type of people to lie and bs y'all but he only had few assignments and 4 essays compared to other English teachers that my friends had. He wants all students to succeed. He gives u a blueprint on how to write the essays 100% recommend.

Dr. Garcia-Martinez was awesome! The class and material is straight-forward, 4 essays, and 4 quizzes. He provides all study materials and gives students a blueprint for the essays which helped a ton. I would 100% recommend him to anyone looking to take english.

Dr Garcia-Martinez was a great professor! He prepared us for every test & essay. Read over the study guides a few times & you'll pass the tests no problem. He was also very helpful on writing essays, he was always willing to read it over & help where needed. First time college student I was so scared for college English but he made it maintainable!

I had this professor years ago, I graduated in 2013. To this day I find what I learned from Mr. Garcia-Martinez valuable. He taught me to read multiple sources, not to just take what is written. There was a lot of work but it was worth it.
