A phenomenal prof with a very fair marking system! Readings are interesting and the postings are very open-ended. He is extremely accessible and extends every opportunity to his students to do well. During Education 6641 Dr. Glassman gave immediate feedback on the forum which I really liked. He is up to speed on all topics discussed and his questions really get you thinking.

There's also lots of opportunity to improve your grades. You can literally watch your grades improve with each additional post. I found this to be extremely motivating. Course consisted of at least 10 postings (he takes your ten best) and a reflective final of between 2500 and 5000 words. I highly recommend this course.

Dr.G. is a credit to the Faculty of Education for teaching in the Fall/Winter/Intersession and Summer sessions year in and year out. If you miss one of his three grad courses in one semester, you are able to get the other two in the next semester or two.

Just heard a rumour that he will retire in a year or two, so DO NOT wait to take one of the three graduate web courses he teaches. Dr. Glassman was very accommodating and provided very quick feedback. Course workload wasn't too heavy and we were treated as adults who had lives outside of the course. Good option!

A very good course for those who prefer self-directed learning. You work at your own pace to complete postings and assignments with the only due date being the end of the semester. Evaluation is a minimum of 10 postings worth 50% and a 50% final paper.

Very prompt with replies and feedback. I like the flexibility in assignment topics, dates due. It appears that to receive assignment marks over 85%, it is necessary to complete additional, short postings. I thought my assignments were of various quality, but my marks were consistently around 85%. It was easy to earn additional bonus point, though.

Was able to get into Dr. G's Ed.6641 this semester. After the first week or so I intend to try and take his Ed.6642 and Ed.6647 web courses as well. This course is excellent so far, and I hear that the other two are great as well.

Dr. Glassman respects the fact that teachers are busy, but that they wantneed professional learning. He also practices what he preaches by allowing students to complete assignments at their own pace-this was a motivating factor for me! I learned a lot and would highly recommend this course.

He developed his own textbook and provided it online so that we would not have to purchase a textbook that costs almost $200.

I love the freedom we were given to look into what aspects of writing interested us. Dr. Glassman is a dedicated,inspirational professor. A lot of knowledge has been gained from the 2 courses that I have taken with him. I believe the grading should be 60% postings and 40% final paper instead of 50/50. One paper worth 50% is too much for one piece of assessment. Otherwise, great prof! Very quick to answer emails and give grades.

Dr. Glassman gives has reasonable expectations for the people doing his course. He gives amazing feedback and is very timely. He outlines what he wants early in the course so this is ideal for people with hectic schedules.

At first his course seem overwhelming but once you get into it is very easy to follow as the course is very well organized. Dr. Glassman gives excellent and prompt feedback so you know how you are doing. He doesn't leave you hanging until the end of the course like most profs do. He even allows you to do extra postings for some extra credit!

Just found out that I had Dr.G. for Ed.6642 this coming Winter semester. That is my Christmas gift that will help me to finish my program with an outstanding course (I have already take two other web courses with him so I know he is an excellent prof). Lucky me. I was able to register for Dr.G's Ed.6641 course for Intersession (it filled up within 5 minutes, which tells you how popular his courses are). I have taken Ed.6642 and Ed.6647 with Dr. G. and have heard great things about Ed.6641. Take ALL of his courses online, even if you are not a literacy ed grad student. It will be worth it.

A great course. Would recommend it for ALL grad students. Very relevant and Dr.G. was as professional as I have heard he was in his other two online grad courses. You will learn a great deal how to be an effective teaching of literacy.

Dr. Glassman is one of the best profs I've had during my masters program. He gives instant feedback and is a fair marker. He will give you opportunity throughout the course to increase your marks. The only thing I would add that didn't help me was that there is no timeline for your postings. Not good for procrastinators. Overall, an awesome prof!

I am debating whether I should have taken 6641 next semester as this course (6647) ended up being really great! This prof is extremely quick with feedback, not like other online courses where you wait 8+ weeks before receiving any type of mark. This prof puts a lot of work into your course, and is extremely flexible. Students gave more feedback.

I just finished my third Dr. Glassman course and it was by far my favourite. As usual he was an excellent instructor who set realistic goals and offered support throughout the entire course.
